Gabriel laughed when Lotor mentioned their various acquaintances. “Ya, I’m going to here a ton of s**t at the precinct.” Another wave of laughter hit Gabe and he bent over from the force of it. “Is the Queen going to behead you for not telling her first?” he asked, purely jesting. He smiled brightly over at Lotor as he got his laughter under control.
They were finally home, going through the Bat Tunnel. Yes, big B and big T. Lotor had turned it into a literal Bat Cave. Well, jokes on him, Gabe absolutely loved it. The car pulled into the parking space and Lotor was quick to jump out of pull Gabe with him. “Thank you, Anne.” Gabe managed before he followed an excited alien out of the car. Gabe couldn’t help his stupid happy grin as they walked into the elevator. The ride was short, and soon they stepped into the main lab.
Gabriel walked over to the main chair, gently pulling Lotor as he did so. His eyes glued to the screens as he read the many comments. Blindly, he gestured and pressed Lotor into the chair and slipped into his lap, giggling at the ridiculousness of the internet. Gabriel leaned into Lotor’s chest, comfortable in the alien’s arms. “Hmm? Probably the chief.” He answered.
As if they summoned him, Gabriel’s phone rang from his back pocket. “Speaking of the devil.” Gabe said as he pulled out his phone and saw who was calling. He answered and put the speaker to his ear. “Hey there, Chief.” He answered.
“Gabriel… So, my phone has been ringing off the hook, asking if the allegations are true…” Chief said, asking a silent question.
Gabriel smiled. “Ya, chief, It’s true. Lotor and I have been dating for a while now, and he proposed earlier today actually.” He sent a sickly sweet smile at Lotor.
The chief sighed softly, not disappointed but a bit resigned. “Well… congratulations. I’m not going to ask if you’re sure, because I know you.” He sounded like a father at the moment.
Gabriel chuckled. “Appreciated, Chief.”
There was another sigh. “Unfortunately, you know I’m going to have to bench you for a while. You know I have no problems with Lotor… he’s been a stand-up guy lately just…. People are going to question if any of your cases were affected by your interaction and now pre-existing relationship…” It sounded like it pained him to say this.
But Gabriel was still smiling. “No worries, Chief. I understand. I actually have some vacation backed up that I will take of advantage of… Gotta start the wedding planning and all that. Seriously, Chief, don’t worry. And thanks for the heads up.”
The conversation ended pretty quickly after that, with another ‘Congrats’ and an expectation of a wedding invite. Gabriel hung up and tossed the phone on the station with a smile. “So, you have me to yourself for at least a week… maybe more.” He said with a grin as he looped his arms around Lotor’s neck. “What should we do with our free time?”
((Sorry of the the late response... sigh... and I'm trying to reply more! ...))

Lotor's eyes widened at the mention of Elizabeth, "Oh, s**t. She's going to be pissed..." He let Gabe man handle him into the position he wanted, settling into the chair and cuddling his mate. "I'm going to owe her big," he muttered, half listening to Gabe as he took the phone call. He was going to have to figure out a present for her. She was going to hold this against him for years if he didn't think of something good. What was more worrying was that she hadn't called him yet. Then again, it was late in England so maybe she hadn't heard the news yet? He could hack into her phone and enter in a message telling her his plans at an earlier time so it would seem as if he had messaged her but she'd been sleeping. But she was smart, she'd suspect something was up. Plus she'd be mad at him for messaging and not calling, which honestly might be worse. He chewed his bottom lip as he thought, focusing back on Gabe when he hung up.
