Zach continued to stare at her. Yes, she'd definitely heard about his attackings from someone. He was far from proud of his actions. However, half of them he could hardly remember completely. Whatever had been going on, he was just glad it had stopped before someone had been hurt badly, or even worse, killed.

He soon felt really uncomfortable, realizing she'd known him before he'd changed. There wasn't really any way he could hide his changes from her. Starting with the horns alone... no hat he'd ever seen could possibly fit over those bony spikes. He made an effort to force his tail in a straight line behind him, stopping it from swishing designs in the sand. He did try to dig his feet farther into the sand, and quickly moved to keep his clawed fingers hidden from view. This exposed the bandages on his wrist from Joliette's powerful bite.

"What? Who told you that?" he asked, stricken with worry. He didn't recall actually hurting anyone worse than some scratches. He went from confusion to guilt quickly, trying to deny his actions. "Look, I didn't mean to. I don't even know what happened. A couple nights ago, I changed-" There, he'd said it again, nice and loud. "And afterward, when I was around people, it just sort of happened... but I'm better now!"

He put his hand behind his head and stared down at the ground. His voice sounded uncertain. "At least, it feels like it..."

"Chert," she replied simply, still watching Zach like a hawk, even though he seemed to not be hostile in anyway, shape, or form at the moment. "Like a male version of me, only with no tattoos and not as hot as me." A snarky grin appeared on her lips at the last comment she made, but raised an eyebrow when he went on to mention he had changed.

Well that part she had noticed.

"What are you turning into anyways?" The tattooed woman asked, eyes glancing over all of Zach's new traits.

Chert? The only man he'd met who vaguely matched her joking description was from the cafeteria, and one of his first potential victims. It was no wonder Antony had been making threats the entire time he'd been out here - Zach had come close to biting that man in the face. He couldn't find anything to say about the guy, so he merely hung onto an exclamation and drew it out. "Oh..."

Her question was an echo of the one he still had. Duvert had not been very clear about Zach's animal - all he knew was that the doctor had made reference more to a mixture of animals, and called the unlikely red conglomerate of creatures that Zach was becoming a "dragon". To repeat that answer would not only make him sound idiotic, but Zach didn't believe it himself. At least Cassidy knew what she was made of, even if the two animals didn't exactly come together in nature. Zach still wasn't looking forward to the prospect of wings, as the doctor had confirmed he'd be getting later on. He shrugged weakly in response to Antony and lied. "Good question... I don't have a clue. I don't look like anything real, do I?"

"Not quite," she murmured, giving him yet another once over before turning her eyes out to the dwindling sun. "Definately not a mammal though..." Reaching into her pants' pocket, Antony pulled her Zippo out and then snapped it back, watching the flame for a moment before remembering that Zach had coughed earlier.

Lovely, no smoking now either.

He looked up at the sky. He'd taken a nap during ninteen-hundred hours the other day to stop himself from being tempted to leave the island in what he thought was a murderous state. However, he'd heard no word from anyone on the existence of a helicopter promising escape, and was starting to think it had just been a dream.

Zach's yellow eyes flicked toward the flame of the lighter warily as he spoke. "Well, I'm something scaly and apparently murderous on occasion. I'm just glad I don't have one of those awful tongues."

He looked up at Antony's red eyes. He had to make sure it had really just been a dream. "Did any helicopters come by the island the other day, around seven?"

Antony gave a dry chuckle at his tongue comment, wiggling her eyebrows at him while the light slowly left the sky. "Yep, now you don't have to relearn oral sex." Her voice was nonchalant, as if that comment was one of every day speech, but her smile said otherwise. Expecting him to squirm a bit first, the tattooed woman waited a bit before somewhat smoothing over the comment, "That is, if you've done that kind of thing..."

Maybe 'smoothing over' weren't exactly the right descriptive words.

His next question caused her to raise her eyebrow and forget about the tongue thing almost immediately. What helicopter? She was now utterly confused, a blank look answering his question.

Zach was caught unaware by the comment, and couldn't have come up with a response to save his life. His tail refused to stay put any longer and lashed anxiously. He was sort of glad his skin had become more red overall since his change - otherwise, his blushing would have been even more obvious, even in the fading light. Oral sex? Hell, she must have been waiting for a moment to catch Zach off-guard to scare him. Her expression was a dead giveaway. He was happy to know she hadn't figured out that any moment was a good moment to do so. It took him a good minute to find something to say to that, once the awkwardness stretched too long. His tail was practically in a knot. "I'm... touched by your concern there... but I never have, and never will."

Her blank look to his question confirmed what he'd suspected. He was surprised he wasn't upset about it - then again, the whole idea that it would be so easy for people to leave wasn't very realistic anyhow. But why a dream of escape when he knew that leaving the island now would only endanger others, he didn't know. He gave Antony a look of contemplation. "Oh, never mind. I must have been hearing things too."

"Touched wasn't the word I would have used..." She trailed off, laughing softly before raising her eyebrows at him, "Oh I'm not surprised that you haven't... But to swear it off for good without even trying it... Selfish b*****d." The last two words were at a lower octave than the rest of her comments, a light hint of a sneer audible in her voice.

Really, men should know they have to give to get, especially in bed.

Antony simply nodded and gave him a weird look as he mentioned he had been hearing things. Not that she was surprised by this news.

Zach stared at her in mild confusion. It was true, he'd never had sex before in his life. At every stage of his life he'd managed to find something to preoccupy him. While high school jocks were spending every waking moment looking to 'get some', Zach was at home studying for midterm tests. When a college friend invited him to a wild party, he'd been the only one left sober by the end of the evening, escaping what was quickly becoming X-rated in its activites. There was also, in Zach's opinion, the matter of the number of limbs he had, which he was quite conscious of. He'd ultimately had no interest at the most crucial moments; for whatever reason, Zach had found little true love in the world and didn't view sex as casual. "I beg your pardon?"

It was only to be expected that Zach failed to grasp her voiced implications.

He looked away from her. So it hadn't been a real helicopter. It seemed a pity for all the people who wanted to escape... Zach figured he'd just be quiet about any dreams he had, from now on. His tail made an arc in the sand behind him. He racked his brain for something to talk about, and his eyes settled on the sparkling water. "Nice view here, of the ocean."

"Oh nothing, you probably wouldn't have gotten it anyways," she murmured, pushing her hair out of her face before looking back over towards him again. His attention was now on the ocean, and his next comment confirmed that.

Her gaze wandered there as well and she nodded, despite the fact that he was no longer looking at her. "It's quite lovely," she mused absently, running her fingers through the white sand, allowing the warmth of the quartz grains to soothe her slight temper.

Zach's tail flicked but he said nothing. He could feel a slight chill in the ocean breezes, signalling the end of the tropical warmth of daytime. He'd been outside most of the day; perhaps it was time to go indoors. As much as he was choosing to avoid the village most parts of the day, at night he felt safer about returning to his duplex. He hadn't looked in the mirror since he'd woken up that fateful day after he'd changed. Deliberately he avoided looking at it. Deep down he had a clear idea of what he now looked like - it wasn't like he could avoid seeing his hand and feet, or have trouble with the horns - but without a constant visual reminder of what he'd become, the shock of it all had been numbed considerably.

"I'll have to come back here sometime. I don't want to be caught in the dark walking back." He'd been heckled enough by the squirrel-woman. He gazed up the dunes and tugged a food out of the sand to start his walk back. To Antony, he mumbled a goodbye of sorts. "Um... see you later, I guess."

Oh, he'd try to avoid her. It just wasn't going to be easy.

New RP

It was gone. The damned cast was gone.

Antony was positively brimming with excitement, and after immediately limping home and washing her left leg, she had pulled on her bikini, grabbed her beach stuff, and headed for 'her' cove. Though part of her was sad that her surf board had to be left behind, her ankle probably not strong enough to deal with that yet, she hummed one of her favorite Godsmack songs.

Once sand had squished up through her toes, she took a few more steps and then dumped her bag and towel onto the sand unceremoniously. With no glasses to worry about, the squirrel woman headed to the water stopping only when the cool water crashed into her legs.

A slow smile crept up onto her lips, and without so much as a glance around her, Antony tugged her swimsuit off and tossed it up the beach with her bag. Moments later she was carefully jogging into the water, and once it was deep enough, she dove gracefully under a wave. It had been too long.
