As Alex rushed towards Eden, she hadn’t heard Aurelie calling out to her. Instead, she heard the loud boom of the Sentinel’s head dropping to the ground. She tensed at the loudness of the noise. But, she forced her body to keep going even when it wanted to stiffen and stay still. Her lungs started to sting badly from the debris that had entered it. She coughed loudly now while covering her mouth. This really wasn’t going to end up well. Anything ending up in her lungs might cause her just to keep on coughing.

Luckily as she tried to clear out her lungs, Aurelie came over and offered to help get Eden back to the jet. “I can help if need be.” She said between coughs. If only she had water right about now. Aurelie called out to the others about finding the Sentinel head. Due to her enhanced sense of eyesight now, she turned her head and could see the head as clear as day. Funny how she recognized she shouldn’t be able to because of the debris. Yet there she was, able to stare at the disembodied head that gave her the creeps.

“The head is a few feet to the right of the Sentinel body. If you can see the feet, just head diagonal. If not, I can find you all with my sight and guide you in the right direction.” Even though her mind knew she shouldn’t be seeing so well, she couldn’t grasp how well the others could see now. Speaking of that, she saw a lot of people heading towards the Omega plane including Roland. Upon her looking longer, she noticed those people were of varying ages in varying states of health. She swallowed slightly. Had those been prisoners?

She shook her head. She knew she couldn’t ask about that or focus on it right now. The others would have to take care of that until this Sentinel had been taken done. She couldn’t even go over and help the passed-out Roland. That really made her frown. “Looks like this is just going to end badly…” She frowned, not realizing she had echoed Aurelie’s sentiment. Even Storm’s message over the comm didn’t ease her racing heart or the feeling of her stomach dropping. Hopefully, they would just get out of here alive and not in a coffin.

"We will drink our fill of Alpha
Then, of golden sunshine that spills into Alpha side of the fight
Till our brains intertwine with Aurelie, Marcel, Lachlan, Colin, Finn, Eden, and Bella"

His teeth were clenched tight together. His body slid slowly closer to the sentinel as he tried to increase the gravity more and more. He had to hold it in the blasts from it. He had to give the others a moment to get away. His boots fought against the friction as he slowly inched closer and closer to the sentinel with the force of his pull. He told the others to go, to run. And it seemed like they weren’t going to listen, at least not right away.

There was a familiar blast that came from behind him. One that had come from Seige. The moment the blast it, August was cursing up a storm in his head so big that it would have given his Momma a heart attack. He knew that the blonde didn’t have the energy to keep making shots like that. So he wondered why it was in that moment that he decided to rather that conserving energy and running. Why the ******** wasn’t anyone listening to him.

Smaller versions of the mutant killing machine came to the call of their master. Like a hive of bees protecting their queen. Lava lit up the room like fireworks. He knew that Playboy was still there too, and he almost wanted to pull his hair out. However, he had to appreciate the man for staying behind, because if they would have left when they were told, there was a chance that August would be dead.

He kept up his attack as much as he could until he heard Dimitri behind him. Waiting until the perfect time, August dropped the bubble that he had placed on the sentinel and put it on himself instead. He pulled the gravity surrounding him towards their escape, sending himself flying towards it. He entered the hall just after Dimitri and moved with him as the lava controlling mutant sealed off their escape.

Once they had a moment to breathe, they did. There was a grin on the southerner’s face when Dimitri complimented his gift. “Thanks, sug. Couldn’t have done it without ya. Thanks for gettin’ me out of there before sealin’ the place off.” It was a cautious walk to where the others had gone. August tried to keep his mind focused so they wouldn’t get ambushed by other baby sized sentinels.

He looked at Playboy when they heard Seige over comm. His teeth tightened together, his sharp jaw flexing as he tried not to get too annoyed. He finally unlocked his jaw when asked how he was doing. “I’m good, darlin’. Got enough in me to maybe make one big one into a twisted hunk of metal. Small ones are easy-peasy… But we should still avoid the big ones.”

He heard a sound coming from his teammate, and tried not to watch out of the corner of his eye. He was hit, and it had to hurt. For the sake of not fretting, he would wait until they were with the others before checking over the wounds of everyone. He wasn’t the most gentle-handed person, but in the least he could slap a bandage on a wound.

Finally, they reached their destination and entered the office space. He came in behind Dimitri and heard Gabe address him. “Well, ain’t you just strivin’ to break a boy’s heart. And here I thought you’d miss me most.” He grinned at Gabe, trying to make as much light of the situation before he started yelling at them like an angry mother hen. Dimitri helped Gabe out of his gear and gave Wraith a job well done about getting Gabe out of the fray. He watched the boys interact before Dimitri addressed the comm. August pressed on his own. “You know I ain’t down for the count, either. But we need a plan.” He rubbed his hands over his buzzed hair after releasing his comm.

Dimitri made the same sound he had made in the hallways and August moved toward him. The southerner mouthed the word ‘sit’ to the other. He waited as Dimitri slid down the wall before looking at his head with the same amount of gentleness as a mildly annoyed parent. “Hold still,” he said, trying to inspect the bump that was probably causing a hell of a headache to boot.

“I ain’t no medic, but I don’t think you’ll need stitches.” He rolled to the side and slid down the wall and sat next to Dimitri. His eyes fell on his other teammates. “And as for you,” his gazed honed in on Gabe. “Next time I say run, I mean run. Not play target practice. If my powers were working any other way, you could have hit me instead with that blast.” He gave them an opportunity to get the hell out of there. Not to try to take it down with one last hoorah. They learned the first time that it isn’t that easy. Not all the firepower in the world was going to be able to stop those sentinels, and none of them had the experience to know just what to do.

Now they had wasted important resources and energy and left to run with their tails between their legs, hiding out in the office of some psychopathic researcher that probably helped design the same monsters that were trying to kill them right now. “I need all of you to get your heads out of your asses and into the ********’ game. None of us have the same experience dealin’ with this s**t like the Omegas do. So, I need ya’ll to not act like some cowboy hero trying to write your own narrative and be a god damn team before one of us doesn’t ********’ make it out.”

Name: Dimitri Otengam. Codename: Playboy. Location: Sentinel Facility Lava Form: Off

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Dimitri's molten suppression was successful. The Jedi bailed from his gravitation technique and use it to propel himself instead to the lavabender. The less time it took the better for D to give them some breathing room. August was right by him, who gave his thanks for hanging back a while. "Hey, It's what we Alpha's do." he said with a shrug. "But We're far from done."

The empty hallway raised some suspicion. "If they did have people, why leave all of this information?" he wondered. If it had anything to pertain with the robots it would have been smart to hide any tracks...

But he had to wonder about another crucial element after hearing about Siege; which made him question August's condition."Alright good." With Dimitri the two of them could still provide some heavy power against the sentinels. But he had a different view when it came to the bigger machines.

"Yeah I'm with ya. I just have a feeling its not gonna happen moving deeper to Master Mold."

And with the sharp pain he felt, he knew there was going to be more of what he was feeling at the rate they were going.

When Dimitri met back with the other two, their gun expert thought it was curtains for the Playboy, and vice versa."Heh yeah well, I can be a bit clingy in these types of situations. But I can say the same for you two." At least they knew what was in front of them when they stepped in. It was a guessing game on what awaited them as they went deeper.

Playboy gave a thumbs up to Siege. The igneous construct wouldn't be a pushover to pierce through. At least when it came to bullets. The wall's durability was going to be tested soon from the sentinel's energy beams. When he removed the backpack from Siege, he felt small and unexpected resistance. Did Siege even use the entirety of whatever was inside? If so he could get to it much better, after experiencing the feeling he described to Dimitri. "Your welcome. Anything in here we can use in your backpack you get you on two feet Atlas?"

Dimitri went over to give the shadowbender a pick me up and from accepting his handshake he had succeeded in bringing a couple of Wraith's spirits back from the dead. "You came out the plane strong. A little Daredevil-ish, but that just comes with the job eventually. They just came back stronger is all.So that's what we're going to do."

Just like Siege's gear he felt a bit of relief through his shoulders with the piece of information Professor O told him. "Got it. Thanks Storm." He felt weird calling his professor by her proper name. But seldom did the professor's came in to make the teams mess squeaky clean.

"Come on pick up for me Siren..."Dimitri hoped his answer in regards to the offices in the building came from a more fine feminine voice but Wraith gave his two pennies to donate. They were nearly on the same wave in terms of the offices as well as the latter plan. The only difference was that Dimitri let out a "Heh..." With the plan to collapse the Building.

On the ground he paused his relaxation and opened his eyes to look at the squad. "Sure...Anybody got Aftershock's number?" He figured that joke could have gone over their heads.

    "Could work though..."

But not keeping his pain hidden any longer. Playboy's silent grunts of pain caught enough attention of August and closed his eyes, as Jedi examined the side of his left forehead."I'm fine...Thanks though." he said, like most people when they were in pain. August would see rose colored scrape, with sweat and debris to match the rest of his face. If he had a measuring device, could measure almost 2 inches in length and an inch in height.

"Must be from the initial attack before the rest of them came online."

He closed his eyes, brought his legs up and buried his head in his arms. Playboy thought he could get some silence but it was interrupted. "Jedi come on..." Dimitri's tone was less lighthearted. No way was he trying to hear a sparked argument right now."The man can't even walk." he simply stated while his head was still down. Dimitri couldn't blame it on miscommunication, for the request was clear. And on the same coin he knew Siege was only trying to help.

But he took it further and gave a team a "motivation speech." Good points were raised in Becker's. They needed to be more efficient going forward and not be so incited to land on that grenade. If Dimitri had to play this entire scene back however, he wasn't of the few that was gunning in head first. And he wasn't the one that pretended he had a backup plan after trying to draw fire back to the sentinel, while being barely stationary.(If he even had one). He just stayed in the same position silent; more focused on his energy than lighting a spark for a potential argument.

But something he did say irk Playboy, which could be heard from his tone.

"The omegas are in the same s**t creek as us, if not worse. At least we can function as a team 90 percent of the time." The training simulation back underground could speak for that.

"If that was the case, we'd all be outta here by now...Unless you're thinking about batting on the other team Jedi?" his face was hidden but one could see the smirk if they looked hard enough. "If so I think Amarillo has an extra hat lying around somewhere for you."

"But some of us do have experience with them." That's when he rose his head back up to speak more clearly. "The small ones drop like phone calls but I've never seen the bigger one adapt like this until now. But the targets we need to hit stays the same: Head, and core."

As for the way they were going to do that... "Storm said when they start to regenerate, we need to switch up our attacks on it." They focus their mutation on those two areas in the process then they'll see the tide slowly shift its waters into the Alpha's favor. "So that's what we're gonna do. In addition, communicating with each other."

But they needed more than just a focus on what to hit. They needed a plan on how to do it effectively. Dimtri would tune his ears to Wraith's further brainstorming. Obtaining directions would benefit them greatly but they were aware of the setback if they turned on even one power button. "There has to be one with all of those papers. Maybe they have some pinned up or like, emergency exits or something."

"Wait...emergency exits...more than one way out..." he murmured to himself. Just like the shadowbender's pieces, Dimitri's pieces were beginning to be put together in terms of the next step. He just used a few of his is all.

"Siege, tell me you also got something in that backpack that has a lot of 'boom' in it...Like alot." Playboy hoped, continuing to stare at the ceiling. This time he rose to his feet and looked at his wall, then the ceiling before addressing the 3 of them.

"I say we hold the line here. We risk running into s**t too big for out toilet if we go deeper. But, if things get too air tight, we go with Wraith's idea and collapse the roof in the hallway. We bury them."

Next he turned his attention to Jedi, if that plan even got that far "If Siege has some explosions or anything that can damage the roof even a bit you think you can pull extra slack down and bring more stones down?"

Lastly he turned to Wraith, without forgetting about himself."With the stones covering the hallway we could probably reinforce it further by cooling my lava and using your constructs." Dimitri and the other members saw the feral constructs Alex was able to design back when they landed but his energy at the moment contradicted him doing that solo.

"It'd be like a lava, shadow, rock type of wall to fill the whole thing. Three elements? If we do that, that should give the rest enough time to come here, and from there we can meet up with them." The piece they needed also, Dimitri dragged it out. "Ummm, assuming weee can find a map."

"But there'd be no turning back." So if the plan went as deep into the hole as both teams were, the only option for the four would be to move deeper. Where their master could be around the corner and they wouldn't even know it...

"But that's just a thought, Anybody got a better idea, they got until-"

His sentenced was halted instantly and his eyes rose in shock. "The walls gone..." It wasn't his greatest accomplishment but Dimitri knew his work. And he knew he had to take a couple bots down back when giving cover for August. How did they take it down so quickly?

"Give me some room, I'll take the front and hit them high." Dimitri requested. He took the same action as Wraith and took cover behind a cubicle corner closest to the end of their hallway; positioning his entire body back first to the wall.

"Remember, head and core, alternate with the big momma's, communication." He told the 3 activated his comm to his entire team.

"Playboy to team. They've sent reinforcements and took down our barrier in the office room. We're still in the same spot. But we may be able to navigate through this maze." He barely twitched in the process of seeing behind the corner before it was covered in energetic crossfire. He shut his eyes turned his head further from the wall in the opposite direction.

"It looks like we're gonna try and hold this area down for the time being but If things don't turn in our favor soon we may have to level the ceiling to cut them off." Once he felt he had a window he peeked out afterwards for a split second and molten shots fired from his palm, only to be shocked again when the blasts reflected back at Dimitri himself!

"Wait what!?" he swifly moved back into cover and with a quick motion of his left hand, the lava blasts stopped in their tracks and moved around the corner like they were flying insects, obeying their queen's orders. "Gotta be ******** kidding me..."

"I know we're a team and everything..." he hollered from the sounds of the fire exchanging between both sections. "But I REALLY think they don't like me. Like I REALLY think they have it out for ME."

(Dimitri's idea is an idea, not to auto or force anything from the other characters. If anyone is that group wants to organize further pm me. Also asking for Siren and mentioning her isn't saying Angel needs to come back. Dimitri just getting worried about her sweatdrop

Luci watched as the man that had come before and the woman he brought with tried to talk to the metal man. They tried explaining that it wasn’t that simple to get into the cage that was holding her prisoner. Seemed like the man with the metal head had a thick skull. Figuratively and literally, it seemed.

Once she was on the other side of those god awful bars, she felt as if she could breathe for the first time in months. Maybe years. Time seemed to bleed together and she dreamed of the night that she was taken regularly. However, her subconscious seemed to twist the memory into something that she wasn’t sure was real or not. It was suggested that she return to the jet before the others were rescued.

This was the moment where she had to stand her ground. “No, not until the others are at least out of their cells. Some may be able to handle their own in a fight. I’m not sure the nature of their abilities.” It seemed like Daylia had a good head on her shoulders. She was witty and sarcastic, but she handled situations well. Luci liked her.

She tried not to laugh at the way the redhead spoke to the metal man. Pounding was happening as he tried to get through the door. Finally, it crashed open, spooking every person inside. She stepped up to the small cell block door and looked inside. She assured the others that they were safe, and that they could trust this man before returning to Aren and Daylia.

There were tears in her eyes and she swallowed the choking feeling back down. There was a time and a place for this, and it wasn’t now. She lifted her head and squared her jaw, holding herself together. “I don’t know what they can do, but there might be a reason why they are here to be studied. I don’t feel like they picked us randomly. There had to be a purpose.”

Attention was brought to what she had said about the labs. She nodded, turning to look past the other cells to a small door frame that opened up into a hallway. Her eyes were adjusted to the dark, so the red lights from the alarm system was taking some getting used to. “This way,” she said as she lead the way past the cells and towards the labs.

Without thinking about it, she let her eyes fall closed once they were through the door. She had to go off the most recent memories of being taken to and from the labs. She tried not to walk on clumsy feet as she wove her way blindly through the dark. They passed doors that were for other parts of the base before the hallway split into a T. She turned left, her eyes opening for a moment before closing again as if falling in and out of the memory. She tried to layer the map together with what she had seen and what she had felt.

Once they reached the end of the hall, they stood before a set of large double doors that were controlled electronically. “Here.” There were no markings on the door to indicate that it was a lab area. No windows to tell that they had reached the right destination. Just faith. It was all that was needed from her companions that they trusted her memory and what she felt and experienced. “I… I don’t know the passcode.” She looked to the small panel next to the door that would have a key code to be typed in. Her eyes swept away from the keypad to Daylia. She was the only one that could get them in and out of the room. However, she didn’t know what was on the other side of the doors either. The chances of there being threats within were small, most of the sentinels and their smaller cousins were probably fighting to protect the facility. There was no guarantee, though.

Cameras?!” The Texan asked, genuine surprise overtaking his expression. “Doll, I would never stoop to spying on you. If I were that type of person, I can think of a few people more interesting to broadcast.” He teased good-naturedly.

Dipping inside momentarily, the molecular manipulator gave a quick report to the rest of the team, bracing them for the onslaught of mutant-killing robots inside. At least for now, they were off. Narcissa sent out further instructions on how to take a sentinel down permanently, and the team split up to handle different areas. Alice, Felix, Gracie, himself and Narcissa headed onto the production floor. “Careful not to turn this place into a sex toy operation, Jinx.” He teased. “Even if Speedy there would delight in taking credit.

Sobering, he looked at the rows of robotic militia… Blake could only think of playing dominoes. Suggesting the idea to his best friend, she seemed to agree and slammed a fist down into the ground, causing the entire building to tremble. He set to work, reaching through the hearts and heads of the metallic shells, leaving a series of explosions in his wake.

Both he and Alice paused to listen to Roland’s broadcast. Alice’s warning made sense, but the team was too split to really offer each other protection. His frustration increased when it seemed as though Roland was by himself, and it was the voice of his best friend that reminded him to focus. “Silver linings indeed.” He nodded, punching through another face.

Just where were the Alphas anyway? He would have thought they’d have met up with them by now.
Anyone catch sight of the blues?” He asked on the team’s channel.

Between his abilities and Narcissa’s, the production room smoldered. His lungs dragged in the fire, promising to burn him from the inside out, but he pressed on, melting through sentinel after sentinel in a hurry. Even with half of them down, if the other part of the room woke up, they’d stand no chance.

Coughing into the comm, Blake reached out to Roland. “Paladin, are the hostages secure?

    Gabriel Byrne
    Location: Sentinel Base
Thoughts: And here I thought I was gonna have a last stand moment...

User ImageGabriel’s vision was still blurry, to say the least. The arrival of August and Dimitri bolstered his confidence now that the seven of them were made whole. Or was it four of them? Damn double vision. His brain was still all kinds of ******** given the circumstances. He chuckled at August’s drawl when he also came in. Dimitri did him a grand kindness and got his tactical vest off of him. Soon August berated him for not running when he said to do so.

“The opportunity arose, I took it.” he replied, taking in a deep breath as his eyes rolled a bit, “The thin line between bravery and stupidity and all that sappy bullshit.”

With a sigh he added, “I’m sorry, any opportunity to put a dent in these metal ******** I want to take it.” he said with a growl, his vision coming into focus, “But not at the risk of putting teammates at risk. It was stupid and foolhardy.” Soon talks of a plan were underway, trying to figure out how best to proceed from here. Dimitri asked if he had anything in his gear that was explosive, but he gave a sad sigh “Sadly no, I’m a gun nut not an Alabama hick.” Scanning the office he had a thought arise.

“But I am also a bit of a maestro with computers...” he said, looking at the office terminal. Shuffling as fast as he could, he made nearly fell into the old computer chair. Taking note of the lights he knew there was still power, and he remembered seeing the terminal being plugged in. “This is an older office where researchers were likely on an intranet system. The sentinels built around the older R&D facility in terms of structure, and given that they are efficient… he rambled, his fingers dancing across the keyboard with lightning speed and precision. A couple minutes and bypassing the administrator system, and he was in.

“They built their network off the old computer system as well.” he finished. He started to go through the computer, looking for a building directory, a map of the old complex, anything that they could use.

With a whoop he shot his hands up “Hot damn! We’re in business!” he called out “I got a building directory. I can send this to everyone involved. If there are some others inside we can set a rally point near where the Master Mold might be.”

The sound of walls breaking, they prepared for the worst. He took out his communicator, and attached it to the terminal to download the directory. Once that was done, he struggled to flip the table into a position of cover. Uttering a simple “******** it” he simply ducked down and placed his forearm across the table. The flat surface gave him some stability with his sidearm, leveling his weapon as the drones came rushing in.

“Hold here, the moment they let up we move! I’ve got a building map, we can get to where the core is!” he steadied himself, firing off a few rounds.

God hoping they would let up.

The native shook his head at her question. “That’s not something that usually came up in conversation.” Aren said, ignoring the fact that she’d just called a bowel movement a log. “I think your dad was just weird.” And maybe had a fetish. Gross.

With the opera-singing statue in the field, Felix took credit as Gracie’s muse. Daylia seemed less than pleased with any insinuation that went along with that, and Aren couldn’t help but to poke the bear. He decided that the chameleon had the teensiest bit of an evil streak, and she owned it proudly. “Well, most of the time, outside of threatening to dismantle Dimitri’s member… you seem pretty tame. ...Hungry, but less than menacing.” The size shifter observed, shrugging his shoulders. “But, I guess they put you on the Omegas for a reason, right?

Once they got back to the girl in the cell, Daylia’s attention honed in on the snack he’d left with her. “I can’t believe you of all people, with all the time you spend eating, wouldn’t think to pack some sustenance.” He said, genuinely shocked. He never went anywhere without something to tide him over. Grinning as she accepted his proposal, they shook on it to make it official. “I’m sure Ki’somma will skin my hide for tempting you over to the bad side.

As though they’d never lost focus, the pair of Omegas turned to face Luci, and set to getting her out. Roland appeared then, attempting to show some muscle instead of taking the easy, though less obvious route of allowing Daylia to save the day. Considering her abilities, it wasn’t always the first thought to come to mind that she just might be the perfect candidate for a job… And Roland definitely didn’t look to have much confidence in his teammate - obviously thinking he would do it better. The armored man didn’t seem to connect the dots as he moved on to the door.

It would have been easier for Daylia just to skip through it, or for Aren to shrink down into the lock and dismantle it. “How well I know.” Aren replied when Daylia reminded him that she’d never really claimed to be a lady. Glancing over to Luci, he shook his head, just in case she was curious as to what they were talking about. “Believe you me, you don’t want to know.” The way his face scrunched up only strengthened his portrayal of disgust.

Once the girl was out of her cage, they couldn’t help but wonder how many more were like her, trapped inside as a science experiment. Suggesting that they get her to safety before taking on any more prisoners, Luci shook her head, firm on helping the others before seeking refuge herself. Aren admired her fire, even if he worried she wasn’t strong enough to really fight.

Roland beating the hell out of the door eventually worked, but the size shifter’s chocolate eyes rolled skyward in unison with Daylia’s sarcasm. “Apparently even when you’re visible, you’re invisible.” Aren stated, silently wondering why his old roommate had to do everything the hard way in an effort to shine. He had to be the hero instead of simply playing support from time to time. He rolled his eyes again as the thought crossed his mind.

What did it matter who got the credit when they were supposed to be a team anyway?

Tears swam in Luci’s eyes as she took in the prisoners behind the door, but she somehow pulled herself together, lifting her chin in defiance when Aren asked if she could help them navigate through the compound. THrowing a glance over his shoulder back at Roland, he sighed at the man’s insistence to do things his own way. “Don’t get yourself killed out there.” He might have told him to be smart about it, but he doubted it’d make a difference, given how he’d torn into the room.

Following the poisonous girl through the hallways, she stopped when they reached a set of double doors. “Luckily, we don’t need a passcode.” He said, dimples forming at either side of his mouth as he stole a glance at Daylia.

You want to do this one at a time?

    XX【 】Name: Alexander "Lex" Magnus
    XX【 】Codename: Wraith
    XX【 】Team Affiliation: Alpha
    XX【 】Location: Office
    XX【 】With: Siege, Playboy, Jedi
XX【 】Actions: fired a shot at 4th sentinel head, lured 2nd and 3rd down the hall, used shadows to move 3rd's arm causing blasts to 2nd's back

Work smarter, not harder. That was the modus operandi that Wraith was trying to adopt. Brute force tactics were not working, and had in fact threatened more than one member of this advance team. If you could call it that. He carefully evaluated each member silently. Siege was the closest thing he had to a friend. However, the ballistic mutant was a glass cannon concerning his powers. A shot weakened him. A big shot wiped him out. Wraith remembered about how he considered himself a code monkey, so his computer expertise could come in handy. Jedi was one of the two he had no experience with. To that end, he could only base an evaluation on what he knew from this combat scenario. Jedi was brash, blunt, and not a fan of tact. Wraith gave him the side-eye when Jedi’s speech came up about working more as a team. Of course the gravity manipulator had a point, but delivering it with a brick was far less effective and pleasant than treating those in the same situation reasonably. That led to Playboy. That one was interesting with some sort of advanced heat creation and manipulation. If pressed, that was the leader of this little cadre. It was Playboy that was addressing each member of the team on equal terms- including Wraith. That meant a lot to him. Playboy got a bit of trust from the disillusioned young man. As Playboy went through the motions, trying to find some sort of plan, he even offered to create a barrier with both his lava and Wraith’s shadows. That would be awkward. Wraith can’t maintain them indefinitely and he was reluctant to tell somebody that was giving him a chance that there were things he couldn’t do. Still, while he was reluctant to offer information, the other three worked as a team to come up with ideas. Again, they talked about the two main targets- head and core.

It honestly surprised him to hear that Playboy was seriously considering his plan for using the building itself as a weapon with a collapse. It would likely not stop the sentinels, but it would significantly slow their movements and allow the teams to approach them in smaller groups. Wraith was able to offer a small smile as he considered it even as a backup plan. Successes where they came. Of course, that was all before the wall was destroyed. Wraith had run into the office across the way, and decided to take cover hiding as much of his body as possible while laying prone on the floor. That allowed him to use more stable objects to keep his aim from wavering. The rhythmic steps were approaching from down the hall. As they came into sight, the shadow mutant had to fight hard not to fire. Don’t shoot the first one. Wait. An ambush is most effective when you wait for them to spring the trap better. Sure enough, more than one human-sized robot came down the hall. One, then two. Three. It looked like a team of four. That made sense in a ruthless calculus sort of way. In theory, they should be more than a match for the mutants. All had been identified and they could adapt. Each one could have a chance at eliminating all four, so sending 1:1 was their way of ensuring that all offending individuals were pacified. Wraith watched their synchronized movements. Their efficient method of staggering formation. None were perfectly in line with any other. Wraith heard Siege behind him succeed at getting a map. The plan offered to upload a schematic to any friendly units for everybody to use.
“Do it.” Wraith said quietly. The sentinels were likely to notice a mutant at the computer screen- but not as likely to see him until he fired. What was the right time?!

The choice was made when he started to see Playboy fire off several small fireballs. They flew true and garnered a lot of attention. Such was the risk of flashy powers. Wraith watched with great interest as the sentinels turned to pay attention to the attack nearly-instantly. They stared unblinkingly at the orbs as they stopped and returned to their origin point. Playboy started to get upset at how these things not only subverted but hijacked his ability. The hesitation was only for a moment. Wraith took aim at the rear unit. He aimed carefully and took a deep breath. He exhaled and put up the darkest shadow he could over the muzzle of his weapon. Wraith couldn’t do a damned thing about the sound, but he could eliminate the visual giveaway to his position. Between breaths- just like his games and fiction had told him. When totally still, he squeezed the trigger just as Siege had told him. The weapon kicked like a damned mule! Still, he had his entire bodyweight to absorb the recoil. Wraith had aimed for the center of the forehead, relatively speaking. Instead the shot landed through the right eye of the unit, and it went down. A .50 caliber weapon did massive damage, even to a robot. The sentinel staggered and collapsed. The team of four droids had lost one member and verified that the lavakinetic was in the area. The sound of the shot reverbed across the walls in such close quarters. Unable to easily identify the source, they began to scan in earnest. The lead one still concentrating on controlling the lava balls at an approximation of Playboy, the other two searching with arms raised. Wraith thought he could stay very still and hide. He was wrong. The second in line saw him and began to fire rapidly at his location. Each shot severely weakening his cover.
                            “That didn’t last long!”

Wraith tried to roll away and gather himself, but the sentinels were configured for rapid fire rather than knockout blasts. A minor distinction but enough of one. The desk and cubicle were soon little more than abstract art as the blasts perforated the thin metal. The mutant scrambled to get out of the way, but for every handful of blasts, one got through. Several grazed him. Finally, he got his feet under him, and Wraith moved back into a further area of the office before going back toward the hall from a second entrance further down the hall. The blasts were now a swarm. More than one sentinel droid was firing on him- and that was what he wanted. He heard them thudding closer. That gave him an idea of where to focus. Wraith closed his eyes and felt out for shadows- hard. They were there! The sentinels were not solid, they had gaps. Small, not even big enough for a hand to fit, perhaps a few fingers. That didn’t matter. Wraith smiled darkly as he realized he had an edge. The two approaching him were still blasting. The walls were taking damage. He hadn’t moved far down the hall when he ran so they did not have far to chase. He reached into the second sentinel approaching, and grabbed its arm from the inside. Shadows became solid and pulled hard on the arm as it fired, the rapid blasts peppering the first in the back. He couldn’t be sure how they would damage one another, but it was worth the try. He could only hope that he hadn’t led them far enough down the hall to endanger Jedi and Playboy.

    Outside the compound

Eden skidding across the field nearly caused her heart to stop. Alex rushed toward her, and the telekinetic wasn’t far behind. “Transmigration will be able to help her if we get her back to the jet.” She said quietly, feeling the girl’s neck for a pulse. Weak, but there. Silently, she thanked God for the small blessing. The head of the sentinel facing them rolled into the the fog, and Aurie searched the blonde next to her for answers.

Nodding at the girl’s instructions, Aurie stole a glance down at the unconscious brunette, and sighed. They were spread too thin to really operate as a team. “Tsunami, straight ahead. We have to destroy the head of the sentinel, or it’ll repair itself. Will you waterlog it and pull out the core? And make sure Lachlan is okay?

Alex offered to help carry Eden, but the ballerina shook her head. “Keep your eyes peeled for any more issues while I float her back.” And with that, she carefully lifted the girl with invisible hands, taking extra care to keep her back and head straight as she took her back to their team medic. Using her comm, she switched to a direct line to Thomas. “Vega has been hurt; she was swatted out of the sky.” Even giving the report caused her throat to squeeze. She should have caught her, should have been prepared. What good was she, if she couldn’t save her teammates?

It didn’t take long to run back to aid, but more and more she felt as though she weren’t doing enough. Dimitri’s call for help had yet to be really answered, Eden was down for the count, Katerina had run off with Scott… “Stay here, help Thomas with what you can and call out what you see...” But the way trouble filled the girl’s eyes caused her heart to drop into her stomach. “What is it?

Roland is down on the other side.” The girl whispered, lifting a delicate finger to point in the direction. Her breath caught, her expression more sober than before, if that were even possible. “Thomas, use the jet’s broadcast to let the Omega’s know. I’ll try and get to him, but the boys are outnumbered inside.” She didn’t say the rest, but her sapphire eyes conveyed to the phoenix-mutant what wasn’t spoken. They were without their shield.

Though it always stirred Katerina’s ire, the Alphas had rarely operated in the field without her blocking their enemies’ shots since she’d joined the team. They’d gone in without her, with two brand new team members and found themselves fighting machines designed to kill them. Playboy’s update reached the air then, and the telekinetic put on a brave face before switching her comm back to the team’s channel. “Allegra here. Rectify and I are coming in as back up.Just… please be okay. Nodding over at the man who would have been a human canonball, she tried for a smile.

I’m not sure I’d consider us the calvary…” But… in this instance, they needed to be. Lifting the strong man up in the air with her, she sped back toward the building. “I hope you don’t get airsick.” She joked in en route, not bothering to catch his reaction until she set them down in front of the entrance. “Tsunami. We’re going in. Are you ready?

Following the sound of the pandemonium, it didn’t take long for them to find the boys holed up in the office space. Gabe was at a computer, pounding away at the keyboard when he suddenly looked pleased with himself. She might have celebrated with him, if it weren’t for the fact that the computer’s speakers played a ping! noise. Damn it. The computer completely shut off then, the screen pinching toward the center with its darkness. That couldn’t be good.

I think you just gave them our location.” She swallowed, and then glanced down the hallway where Wraith had foolishly tried to take on the robots by himself. That he was still standing after how hard he came in… no doubt he’d be out of power soon enough. Throwing a shield around him was reflexive, but she had to remember to tell him how they worked. “Don’t attack yet… it’ll just waste what’s left of your energy.” She said, trying to give the poor guy a reprieve. The ballerina started toward him, but only got one step down the hallway when she felt the floor pulse from a giant’s steps. Biting her lip, she winced when her theory regarding Gabe’s hack job proved correct, and two full-sized sentinels appeared before them. “Tsunami, see if you can wash away Wraith’s troubles.

Halt. Mutant detected.” Their voices sounded like a rhythmic drum in band practice. That they were completely in sync only made it louder, more ominous. Blinking once, she sighed, and slammed an invisible hand into the one closest to her, pushing it backward into what was left of the wall. “Rectify… let’s play catch.” She said, lifting her chin toward the other.

Thankfully, Lachlan seemed to understand exactly what she meant, using his incredible strength to lift the sentinel into the air, and hurled it toward hers. Digging her heels into the ground, she followed suit, using all of her focus to lift the incredible weight. The robots’ face plates collided with one another in an ear-splitting crash. Metal against metal caused her to grind her teeth. Pulling the one she’d tossed back into the air, she flung the sentinel again, this time running toward it when it landed. Hovering above it, her nose bled as she pulled at the metal in its face, mangling the protective plate so that it looked like a crumpled piece of aluminum foil after a backyard barbeque.

She’d not been paying enough attention to the other miniature robots when one shot a laser at her shoulder. Stumbling backward when she hit the ground, she yelped out in a mix of pain surprise. “Playboy! Melt it down!” She directed through clenched teeth, a hand pressing into the now sizzling part of her uniform. Hazarding a glance at the injury between her fingers, she wanted to vomit.

Not only were they painful, the way skin sloughed off from a burn was always gross. “Rectify. Attack mine!" She pressed her comm to give the senior x-men an update, but found only static. s**t. Gabe’s hacking had likely bricked all of their communicators. "Jedi, keep his down!"

                                                                                      Fish, meet the land.

And like a beached fish, they were in a world of trouble. Especially since the sentinel that Wraith thought he'd down with the gun had started to repair.

((Alex and Lachlan auto'd with permission. Treat the sentinels as players. Do not auto hit them and kill them without first speaking to Taibhse, Master Cliff Fate or myself. Thanks!))

No one ever really seemed to notice just how slow time tended to pass until they had no choice but to take note of it. Hours seemed to pass by quickly when you had the entertainment and distractions of day to day life keeping you busy. It was only when you had absolutely nothing else to do that you noticed time itself crawling along. It was like an ever-present phantom that stayed out of sight until every once in a while it decided to show its ugly face and chill you to the bone, for no other reason than to remind you that it could. This time was one’s greatest enemy when you were strapped to a surgical table in an otherwise unoccupied room waiting for something, anything to happen. In that time he could feel the seconds crawl by him at an agonizing pace. He could feel his restraints cut into his circulation. He could feel his muscles twitch every few moments simply out of sheer anxiety. He could feel every trickle of sweat pour down from his body. He could hear every tick from the clock hanging over a wall he could not see from his position.

Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock.

It was excruciating. Rory was no stranger to constant, foreboding sounds. Pickman Manor was filled to the brim with strange sounds that often had very little, if any, explanation. There was creaking windows and doors, the fluttering of wings, the shuffling of something just out of the periphery of his eyes, the odd animal noises from the den where all of Layla’s taxidermy was stored, the chiming of that grandfather clock in Sutter’s office that always seemed to find itself an hour behind no matter how many times they’d fixed it, and the occasional ominous wind that may or may not have had whispers behind it. But those sounds were always more comforting than frightening to Rory. This clock’s ticking was maddening in a way he could not say he’d ever really experienced before. This sound was clinical and precise, and it was almost as if he could feel each second of his life be stripped away from his bones with every tick and every tock. He wanted to scream, but he settled for a muffled cry, as it was the only thing allowed to him. Any second now the doctors would return and vivisect him for their deranged and hateful purposes. He almost hoped they would return, so they could at least put him under and he would not have to hear that damnable clock anymore.

It was something of a relief when he heard the door suddenly fly open. At the very least the anticipation was over, even if it did not bode well for him. But from beyond the door he could hear something like all hell breaking loose, though he did not have enough of a vantage point to see anything beyond it. When a man approached the doorway, he cocked a brow in confusion. The man was no doctor; he could tell from what he was wearing. While the man was not the least bit familiar, the costume certainly was. He would know that distinctive X anywhere. He’d been a student at Xavier’s for some time now, though he’d never considered actually joining any of the superhero teams on campus. He was merely there to learn his ability, and little more. He was no fighter. But he certainly could not deny them his gratitude for this apparent rescue.

Rory let a loud exhale escape his lips once the gag was removed from his mouth. The man introduced himself as a member of the X-Men, and claiming that he was going to get him out of there. ”Th-thank you,” he muttered. He took a deep breath to collect himself before saying anymore, fearing that he might accidentally open his other mouth in his excitement. The last thing he needed was to give his rescuers a mental breakdown, especially while he was still strapped down to a medical table and exposed to any violent tendencies that could bring upon them. He couldn’t allow himself to be killed when he was this close to freedom.

Once he was finally freed from his restraints, he sat up. He twirled his wrists a bit to bring back some of the feeling and circulation he’d lost while trying in vain to pull himself free. ”I know a bit about you guys,” Rory muttered, unable to look his rescuers directly in the eye. ”I am- or was, I guess -a student at Xavier’s. I was visiting home when the mansion was attacked. I thought you guys were gone, so I went into hiding.” There was a notable quiver in his voice as he spoke. Rory had never been the best at addressing strangers even at the best of times, let alone when he was half-naked in a torture chamber. ”Not that it did me much good,” he lamented. The last few days were among the worst in his life for obvious reasons. He’d never felt so utterly vulnerable and helpless in his life. Even in his worst moments of mental instability, he’d always had the comfort of a loving family or people who cared to help him out of his attacks. Before now he’d never felt like he was surrounding by pure, clinical, cold hatred pouring from every corner of his periphery. He’d never before felt like he was trapped so completely.

Once he was comfortable with the blood flow in his limbs, he stood and walked over to the bin where his clothes and other belongings were placed when they were forcibly removed from him. He casually tossed on his shirt, not even bothering to button it up completely. He slid on his blazer, and slipped his camera strap around his neck, suddenly feeling a dozen times less naked than he did before. ”I’m Ro-,” he began to say before stopping himself. He did not doubt the people who ran this facility had his information, but it somehow felt wrong to say his given name here. Instead he opted for his codename, the one he’d randomly come up when being admitted into Xavier’s school but had never actually had the chance to use. ”Johnny Carcosa,” he corrected himself, hoping his rescuers would follow his train of thought.

He approached his rescuers and pulled out a pouch full of ear plugs, the disposable kind that came tied to cord to keep each pair from separating. ”I can’t help you guys fight our way out of here. I’m no good at that violent stuff. But I can talk to any people that get in our way.” He offered each of them a pair of ear plugs, though he still could not bring himself to look either of them in the eyes. ”You really, really don’t want to hear me talk to them.” A small part of him relished the idea of bringing torment to his torturers, but the largest part of him mostly just wanted to go back home to Providence. Without really thinking about it, he pocketed one of the scalpels on a tray beside the surgery table. He did not plan on using it, but it was better to have it and not need it than the opposite.

Mid-dark thoughts of the grey tombstone,
And all I loved, I loved alone.
The second son of a setting sun,
Scores to settle, one by one.
Years of love have been forgot,
Years of trouble, years of draught.
    Years of ever gently tapping
On your chamber, all for naught.

He was thankful their tinman of a friend went down after trying to have it's last stand against them. Not that he was complaining cause to be entirely honest, he was freaking out inside of his head, but in a way he was glad a plan he devised probably did not fully go through. There was a fifty-fifty chance he could have either successfully made the attack, that of which he did to some degree, or failed miserably. Still, doing all that pulling, condensing various states of water on top of making pressure soft enough to not harm Lachlan as a result but also give him enough impact to put his strength to use? Yea, that had certainly caused the hydrokinetic to lose some of his breath and so that's where Marcel found himself presently: hands placed down to his knees and deeply breathing worse than an obese asthmatic trying to sprint for less than half a mile down a hill. He was aware that Vega had been harmed, but by who, what or how was a mystery at the moment as he thought he was close to blacking out. He might have too if they didn't have the opportunity before them to essentially be let up on. He regained some of his composure enough to raise a thumb up towards Aurelie

"Straight ahead. Head and Heart repairs it. Keep the head away from the body. Got it."

That was the gist of what he could muster from his mouth so far. He kept in mind that it was being stressed to operate as a team once again and so, Marcel made moves, but he kept in mind others who would follow and how to coordinate with them as a result. With the head exposed like that, surely he would have no issues flooding it up with water and causing it to short circuit on top of rupturing internally as a result. He took the opportunity then and there to let the head itself become entrapped around water and from there, mentally, he literally searched and probed for every nook and cranny he could find. The eyes, the nostrils, the neck and even slight openings. Whatever gave him the chance to do so, water began to fill internally as much as it did externally. The sound of static among the bubble was heard as Marcel made sure their mini companion remained down and out for the count. He did not stop doing so until he heard a loud pop, the side of its head rupturing from the shock and pressure as a result before he finally released his hold over it. Marcel trusted that someone took its core out, but he was positive to say that its head was certainly down and out for the count as a possible means to try and reattach itself. He sighed in relief, walking onward to continue their mission that led inside of the base itself.

To say all hell had broken loose was an understatement. Hell had broken loose the second they set foot off the jet. Hell had broken loose the second they had to contend to a small Sentinel who refused to stay down. Hell had certainly broke loose when looking at the catastrophe that was the Sentinel base itself. This clearly had been the work of several mutants in revolt, they as X-Men being the revolting mutants, of course. While he might have liked to stay around, take in some of the fiery aftermath and smell of oil on top of remnants of disassembled mechanical parts to even just reminiscing on the last time this happened, He among the others were considered the back-up. They had to go in even further as some of the team thought it wise to contend to the heart of the matter itself. Would he think the plan was stupid? Not at all as it sounded the most logical thing to do. Was it well thought out though? Well, probably not, but then again, who truly had time to think effectively on this scale of a battle? He certainly did not, and so he wouldn't judge...much, anyways.

The keyword to the phrase was wash and what with the fact that this facility powered itself with various states of water, well this was just easy pickings. Stalling the Sentinels anyways. They were towering metal buckets after all. As large gushing water was sure to wash them off and away from Wraith to give him some breathing room, that would have hardly effected them as much other than to sweep them off their feet and send them sliding out and down the watery path before them.

"Doing okay there, buddy" he announced when finally making his full presence known. It looked like they were almost getting through the Shadow user's state of defense, so while he was seemingly cheeky in the tone of his voice, it was also layered with a bit of concern. "There's two of us now. Maybe we should be more than enough to do away with one or them both if we're lucky."

    Inside compound

The Sentinels moved closer down the expected path. They were slightly larger, but they made sure they weren't going to miss a single thing. Get to a doorway, scan, and continue on. That was their search pattern, and they were going to be meticulous until they found every last stray mutant in their domain.

Their search pattern changed however. "System breach detected." All sentinels shifted and swiveled and stared down the hall. The path lead towards one of the offices that was utilized when there used to be humans in the building. This was their domain, terminal access was never used by a sentinel, not when they were all connected as a single electronic hive mind.

Gabriel would find that the terminal he was using locked itself out. Not only was he locked out of the terminal, having his comm hooked up while the terminal locked out not only bricked his comm device, but everyone's in the immediate vicinity.

As they made their way towards the prey they had been previously hunting, they were unaware of their back up. Two of the smaller sentinels were ambushed by Wraith, one having forced to fire upon it's 'partner,' the front sentinel had stopped. Not all together, but just forward progress. The plating of the smaller sentinels were more resistant to their own fire power, as they had adapted to respond better to Playboy's lava.

The sentinel in the front moved to the side, allowing the one that had previously shot it to take the point. The sentinel now repairing itself. It scanned the area of darkness that seemed to be the source of the misfire. It cycled through it's different scans. Nothing. Despite this, it unleashed a hail of blasts into the empty room for assurance. "No threat detected." It spoke aloud, returning it's sensors to the fore.

As the two larger sentinels were now being made work of by the new prey, one had taken the opportunity to fire upon the Telekinetic that was standing atop one of the larger sentinels.

Isolate and destroy. The mechanical monotone voice stated. Uncertain of who was where, the sentinels would not be able to handle their prey in force. The smaller sentinels began to fire at the base of doorway where Gabe's terminal breach was located. Another had fired a few times into the roof above before targeting another doorway. All four smaller sentinels were firing calculated blasts to bring down the ceiling enough to block off doorways and pathways without compromising the whole building's structural integrity.

(OOC: Again, sorry for the late response. Didn't want to auto who was with who in the which rooms/hallways that the sentinels managed to block off. Or if they even succeeded. I know several of you have powers that can prevent some if not all of it.)

"Ehh, he was just proud." She said with a shrug. It was something she could understand now. Sometimes it was amazing what the human body could produce and send out the waste chute.

Once they were outside, her attention was pulled to the rather large veiny singing moving member on the field.
"I punched him in the face. How is that tame?" She asked as a tick started in her jaw at the mention of Dimitri. She still wasn’t sure if he had been lying to her or not, but regardless she did feel slightly guilty for letting her anger rule her. "Yeah, we’re all basket cases here." She said with a sigh.

With Aren’s lead, they wound their way back to Lucianna and her terrible situation. Unfortunately for the poor trapped woman, D couldn’t help but hone in on snack bag she held.
"Me too. Now I’m just completely disappointed in myself." She said with a frown. They came to an agreement, her talents in simulations for access to some of his snacks during missions. She couldn’t help but cover her a**, saying that if they got in trouble, she would blame him. He took it in stride. "Well, everyone knows I like my food, so it’s not like it would be a stretch." She grinned at him before returning her attention to the matter at hand.

As D was working her magic to get Lucianna out of the god awful cell, Rolland made his own appearance. The big brute seemed to be determined to prove that Daylia was an unneeded person in this situation, the one thing she was actually useful for. It was kind of him to try and play hero, but considering they already had it covered, his actions were more on the nuisance side.

After figuring a way around Lucianna’s power, D was able to pull her out of the cell with no issues. Despite her success with getting her out, Roland moved onto the door, choosing to use bronze rather than brain. Again Aren brought up the fact that D didn’t seem to be much of a lady, and again she had to point out that she never claimed to be one. Aren told Luci not to ask and D simply shrugged. She had no issue sharing their previous conversation that lead to this.

D made the suggestion that they should get their new friend to the jet before moving on to more people. Sadly no one else seemed to be on board, not even Luci.
"I get that, and it's admirable..." D said, searching for the right words. The poor woman didn’t seem like she would be able to keep up that easy, which made the faux redhead worry. "Just let us know if you can’t keep going." There would be no winning this, that much she knew.

While Roland went at the door, D couldn’t help but make her comments. Lucianna seemed to be amused by their banter as he continued.
"Right? Like I already don’t feel useless." She said as she looked to Aren. It was one of the biggest issues with her power. While everyone else could use theirs to fight and defend, Daylia was the best at sneaking unseen though places and solid objects.

With a final bang, the door had given way, allowing the group to see into the next room. Within moments D had disappeared then reappeared once there was no apparent danger present. Lucianna seemed to get a little emotional as they looked over the room, and Daylia couldn’t help but worry again that she wouldn’t be able to hold it together to get everyone out. However this time she declined to mention anything. However, Luci mentioned that she didn’t know what kind of powers any of the other had.
"Yeah, like trying to create super robots that can combat us." She said with a sigh. "Or trying to create super soldiers."

Either way, it boded badly for anyone involved.

Deciding that it was best not to get in Roland’s way, they moved on to looking for the labs. Thankfully Lucianna was confident when Aren asked her if she knew the way. Before they left, Aren tossed a quick quip over his shoulder to the armored mutant, and she couldn’t help but smile. Like Roland would ever die, let alone get too badly injured.

Lucianna lead the way to the labs, most often with her eyes closed. Again it brought back Daylia darker thoughts about this place. How many times had they wheeled the poor woman there that she would be able to get them there like this? It angered her to the point that she wanted to burn the whole place to the ground.

They wound their way through the empty halls. Most Likely everyone had already been called away to combat the threat outside, so thankfully there was no one in their way. They made it to the locked door, and Luci admitted that she didn’t know what the code was. Daylia fought the eye roll, and thankfully Aren was the first to speak up, claiming they didn’t need one.

Daylia rolled her shoulders before cracking her fingers.
"One at a time is going to be the best option." She said as she stepped up to the door. Color spread over her from, spreading like spilled ink on paper. It wasn’t long until she was indiscernible from the surroundings they were in. "Give me a minute to scope out what's in there, I’ll be back."

With a deep breath, she stepped into the room, her eyes scanning the area. One lone doctor had been left behind to watch the blank number of people. He would be easy enough to knock out. The only sound she made as she approached the man from behind was the click of her collapsible baton snapping into place. Before he could even really register the sound she blasted him over the back of the head as hard as she could. Once, twice, and a third as he hit the floor, making sure he was out.

The ragged rise and fall of his chest was all she needed to see to know she hadn’t actually killed him. She dropped the background colors and began trying to fasten him to one of the empty beds there. It was then the screaming and pleading started, as the seven other bodies in the room took notice of her.
She said after cuffing the man to the bed.

Backing away and trying to take in the condition of the poor souls there, she moved back to the door. Quickly she poked her head and an arm out, looking for Lucianna.
"Either of you coming with me?" She asked as she held her fully sleeved arm for one of them to grab on to. She assumed Aren would stay there, but she was unsure about the woman. "They’re screaming and it's freaking me out."

                                                                        User Image
Location: Jet then the holding cells.
Thinking: Whatever you do, don't s**t yourself.

Alice had to try to restrain herself when Blake had a small outburst at the idea of him planting cameras in her room. She grinned sideways at her friend out of the corner of her eye. “First of all, rude. You don’t need to say it like that. I’m plenty interesting.” She tried to hide the genuine laughter in her voice. “And besides, I’m only as boring as you are, bestie.”

Blake disappeared inside to report on what he could see from a different perspective inside of the building that they were all struggling to overtake. Instructions were fired back at them over the com from their team leader and Alice kept her focus on keeping the area clear for Blake to return back to. Once she was inside along with Blake, she looked at the gigantic mutant, and human apparently, killing machines.

They had to do something. That something was going to be playing dominoes with the giant, metal machines. The initial slam of her hands sent them toppling down to the ground. If they moved fast, then maybe they could strike before the hive woke up and started kicking their asses. She took off into a run, leaping onto the chest of one of the fallen sentinels. Fists pounded through the metal exoskeleton that protected the cores. Once she was inside, she ripped the core out and tossed it as far as she could. If anything, she could leave a pile of cores for Blake to walk through.

She moved on to the head, pounding her way through it when Roland made an announcement over the comm system. She retorted back to the omega to be careful, just in case any of the captured mutants had a vendetta against being rescued. She kept her focus on the task at hand, just as she had told Blake.

Finally, her friend asked about the Alphas and Alice had to keep her face blank. “As long as they ain’t dead or useless, then I wouldn’t worry about it.” Even though they were probably at least a little useless. Didn’t mean she wanted them dead. At least not all of them. There was one that she wouldn’t mind if she had gotten at least a little maimed in the fight.

Blake tried to get a good idea on the status of the hostages that Roland had rescued. She dove for another, adding to her slowly growing pile of cores and heads. She wasn’t as efficient at it as Blake was, and her hands were starting to hurt. But she ignored the pain. There were some things that were more important, and stopping the Sentinels before they can even start was more important than a fractured pinky.
