She comes across a carcass of what is likely a wolf, from the size and remnants of a pelt. It's better than hunting for one and she's not sure she'd be successful in such an endeavor anyway. Dragging it back to the lion is a bit more difficult than one would think. To add insult, the lion sneers at the bribe and begins to hiss. Watching the lion, provides some guidance. There is an eagle that is perched nearby that the predator is eying, its lips quivering in apparent hunger. Birds are tricky to capture but she might as well try. She ends up catching a fish to tempt the avian and when it does make to steal her catch, she pounces. The bird refuses to go quietly and its beak tears a gash in her left ear. Holding fast, she bends down to use her hooves until the creature goes still. Dropping it, the lion approaches to sniff before dragging it back to its makeshift bed of cool dirt. OOC Footnote Current HP: 26/30 Current Trust: 12 Section notes: -----

A fish had been easier to catch, she thinks. She repeats that and tries to offer it to the lion but it snarls, ears flat against its skull, like it is insulted. The doe lifts her brows, "Really? Believing that larger game may be more tempting, she ventures out to find something suitable. She considers a boar but the idea only reminds her of her own pet--or inhabitant as she tends to consider it, the creature remains close to her glade and often scares away anything that may intruder--which is enough to let it pass unharmed. Returning with nothing would be a bad sign, which returns her thoughts to the badger from before. It will likely mean a scratch if it fights back but the chance is worth it. She returns to where she found the rabbit and sure enough the badger remains. After it is dead and has left her a love bite to remember it by, she thinks the chance wasn't quite as worth it as she imagined. The lioness does seem to appreciate it but it remains lying where it is. Whether it is content there or just hates her... Probably both at this point. Lions sleep and eat; that is all she knows of this type of creature. The former, she cannot help with. The latter, however, does not seem to be doing much good either. She frowns. What can she offer it? She finds a cheetah stalking an eaglehound. When the cat has felled the dog, she intervenes and steals the kill. It isn't a good feeling--she's often found some fondness in canines--but the lion seems to appreciate it quite a bit. And that's something at least. She grits her teeth as her head swims. A scraggly owlcat drops to the ground. It isn't exactly her idea of a bribe but after the wasp had threaten to sting her (which only made her fall and bash her head against a tree trunk) it is all she's willing to offer. At least until her head stops throbbing. The lion is at least interested in it. Which is something but hardly makes it feel worth it. This time, she cannot even blame the feline for being offended. A furby is on very few kin's or creature's list of likes even when they are dead. Its eyes remain open and unnerving which prompts a mutual agreement that it be tossed out for some less picky scavenger to collect. She's tired; so so tired. What hasn't she tried? She runs through the list in her mind. There aren't a whole lot of creatures that spring to mind, not now. A feathered serpent is eventually what seems to be to the lion's fiercest craving. Catching it was no small feat and yet she has very little pride in the matter. The lion is finally close enough that she can begin looking for the injury that has caused such a bloodbath. It's slow going as she rounds the creature carefully before deciding that she needs to start with the more hidden places. She nudges at the cat's tail and one of its hind legs. There is nothing obvious wrong, except for the harumph that causes the cat to kick her in the face. The claws don't scratch but the blow is still powerful enough to slightly daze her. Whether it is nudging at the leg in question itself or the fact she is standing just out of the cat's vision... Either way she still ends up with a lion curling its lips in disgust. "I have to see the wound," she tells it firmly but calmly. There is clearly a wound along its ribs or perhaps even higher up. The evidence behind the leg though is just the marker pointing the way.
