Melvin was about to lead the group back before he noticed something unnatural in the tunnel.
"Guys. There is a door here." He called over the headset as he turned his headlamp down the tunnel to shine upon it.
"I...never came across any before."

Kim looked at the mermaids again and murmured. "Melvin, what are the chances of the Mermaids causing a lot of trouble now that we killed their.. well possibly their pet?" She was musing on that as she followed before looking over at the doorway. She was nearly bouncing at the idea of opening and going in there. "Hot damn, can we look at it? I want to go with you if you go in. I soooo totally do NOT want to be left behind." Her eyes were bright and sparkling and she a bit too hyped. Sure she had been a bit wounded but well, come on... look at that! She moved closer, creeping up to the door. "Oooh.." She so wanted to touch.

The revealed a set of double doors, each a half circle. Upon them was an intricately carved design, and something about the lines of it felt familiar. Even more so, as Melvin got closer and they began to glow dimly in the depths.

"Kim. Please don't rush in. These caves could hold anything. Just because we took one Eel down doesn't mean there couldn't be anything else not to mention the army of mermaids about. Yes, I'm sure they will be distraught once they get over their mourning cries."
Worried, he looked to the group who had come to his aid and fought so well through this entire mission. The last thing he wanted to do was bring additional pain and danger upon them.
"Just...stick close behind me if you want to see. Do you need any healing? I have a charge still."
Turning, he swam closer, and felt both hesitation at the glowing. It made him think of how often he came down for stones here, to bring them back to work on them. But why was a door down here? Was hadn't it been guarded by mermaids? Did the Eel choose this cave or was the door forgotten?
Why was it under Deus?
"It feels like it has something powering it." He mused out loud, moving even closer to the door.

"I'm okay," Noah said. His shield was still pretty thin, but he could deal. Someone else was probably more in need than he was, after all that.
"What is that?" he asked, nervous, staying behind Melvin.

As more hunters approached the doors, the doors began to glow more brightly. In turn, the runes on both their weapons and runics flared brightly and briefly as well before fading. Any weapons still out were desummoned as the doors grew even brighter and started to open.

A door that even Melvin wasn't aware of previously?
Kyle trailed behind, still trying to keep up with everyone as best as he could while hobbling along.
"The door and the runics... they're resonating... what's that supposed to mean?"
He questioned, his eyes growing wide when the doors began to open with their approach.

Kim nearly pouted when she was told not to rush. Still she understood what she was being told and instead kept close on Melvin's heels bouncing a bit on her toes. "Heal? No use it on someone worse, I'm only a bit banged up.".
Smiling she looked at the glow, then noticed Chinthliss vanish. "The hell?" He was still existing but not with her. "That.. Is weird.."

He swam a bit closer now, easing as the doors opened.
"It needs Fear to power it."
Saliva? Are you okay? He asked.
I can a charge and then it was gone! I don't like this door. She grumbled, never liking the idea of someone taking from her.

Terry had to shield his eyes from the glow, and it was only then did he realize Agata had been dismissed without his conscious decision. Naturally he kept his silence and his blank expression, as if nothing terrible or suspicious was happening at that moment.
Internally he and Agata was freaking out. The only externalization of this anxiety was how he kept unusually close to Kim.Joy was floundering (metaphorically) without her weapon but she wasn't going to let that stop her from fulfilling her duties. "Can you see what's on the other side?" she asked into the communicator.

It's mostly dark beyond the doors, with the muted exception of a single beam of light in the distance.

When Tracey desummoned Rep let out an internal sigh. It was either the legacies or O he immediately assumed simply due to all the weapon interference fields he'd had to deal with in recent days.
He swam on anyway, even when there was nothing but light ahead.
"For the ******** record." he said over the headsets, not even sure if people could still hear him. "If anything offers you help, power, whatever the ********, tell it to go ******** itself. If it sounds too good to be true it probably ********> is."

With that warning, Melvin swam into the chamber towards the beam of light.
