"I see..... So this is your punishment " he said quietly, no flicker of pity or anything at all as he glanced to the two bodies in the cell with her. "If they are still here then they can hear you see you. If it is anything like the person who watched over me, they might be sad" he said simply as if it were a fact than an assumption, as if he were trying to say thanks without actually saying it.

Moving away he started to head to the open area "I want to know how they made Ashral...they already know I am here " there was a slight pause as he turned and looked as a memory of something Spirit said flicker to mind. "Do you want your chains removed?"

Katarina nodded without any expression that showed that she was upset or cared that she had been punished, solidifying the notion that she truly had wanted to be there for some reason. He spoke about them hearing her and how they might have been sad, she clenched her teeth a bit, trying to hold back her sorrowful emotions, not wanting to accept that they were sad about her. She was conflicted, while she wanted to see them again or somehow talk to them, she had accepted a long time ago that they were gone and she just used this to cope when things got too much. Like a mindless game to calm down ones anxiety but never wanted it to be real. Taking a deep breath, she just nodded again, noticing his obscure thanks.

As he moved toward the open area, she tried to move forward, despite the pull of the chain around her ankle. "Please don't go over there. I know you want to know the answer, but you won't understand it by continuing." she spoke, a twinge of panic to her voice. He asked her if she wanted him to remove her chains and she tried to think about it. Even if she wanted to stay, nothing good would come of him being there. "I don't have an answer. If you remove the chains, we'll both be in trouble for it. If you don't, you'll keep going... and I don't want you to go." she looked down, frowning.

"So either you could let me out, and I can tell you how they made Ashral and what's wrong with her. And we'll both be in trouble but at least you will know and understand. Or you don't let me out, continue on, not understand what is happening, and you'll likely just take my place in here when they come for you." she mumbled off as if mostly talking to herself.

She looked over at her dead parents, her eyes narrowing then looking to Ree. "Remove the chains. Let me out."

"....." There was a pause as he stopped and looked back at her with a dead look. Turning away from the open area he return to her and stopped to stare at her silently from the other side of the door. "The chains" there was a flicker of something but he nodded as he phased through the bar, stopping by her he knelt and grabbed the two chains on her legs and phased with them and threw them to the side. Solidifying again he let out a sigh and stared at her as he pulled the multitool from his shoe and offered it to her, "Now explain"

She watched him carefully remove the chains by phasing them off of her then hand her the multi tool. She nodded and moved to the small wooden door and reached around to effortlessly pick the lock with one of the tools and opened it to step out. "They keep the bodies of dead servants or those that die during capture here preserved with magic. They find souls that linger in the ruins of the mainland and bring them back here. They break the soul and Carmella keeps a piece of it with her to control them if needed. Then they shove the souls into the dead bodies that have the most similarities to the soul itself. With Ashral, they didn't know what race she was and so they did something different. Her body used to be a Magi but they did something to it to bring it back since humans are different from non-humans, they made her undead. Now they know that works, they are going to do it again." she explained moving to the stairs to leave. "Ashral's process has been so much slower than the others. It only took a day or two for the body and soul to permanently merge, but with her it took five days for her to even wake up and her soul still isn't fully merged." she sighed then looked back to Ree. "What are you going to do when you get back up to the surface if they know you're down here?" she asked, not sure if he had a plan or if he was just doing things without reason.

Ree closed his eyes as she finished and sighed deeply the light he was emiting turned a tiny bit darker as he opened his eyes again and glanced back toward the rooms that held the dead bodies. "She is strong..so much stronger than her brother thought but is only starting to conciously know it" he said simply then shook his head, reacting but none of it actually reaching his eyes.

"So killing the "masters" " he let out a soft snort. "Still applies" he said watching her head back toward the stairs and raised a faint brow even if nothing else on his face changed. He didn't ask more, for all he knew she was going invisible once she reached the door. "What would happen if I headed into that room? What is in that room?" He motioned with his head then shrugged. "They think I am here...they won't know when I'm not until they come down here won't they. " //unless you tell them// he thought to himself but that went contrary to everything she has done...and in that cell was her reasons.

She paused, listening to him, "She is very strong. Giselle said what they did to her would never have worked and would have just destroyed her soul within a few days, but her soul is so strong it actually worked and is slowly merging with the body despite having little similarities." she spoke in a bland voice but didn't look at him. Her hands clenched into fists as he mentioned killing the masters. "I suppose it does. If you want to get out, it's the only reasonable option I've found. But that's just me. I came to find out that everyone just wrote it off as a joke so I never mentioned it. I was surprised you took to it so seriously." she commented then exhaled.

The moment he mentioned going back to the open area, she turned to look at him with an unamused stern face. "You'll see things you wish you hadn't. There is nothing in there but more dead bodies. Just leave it alone." she slid her gaze away and shifted uneasily then frowned. "There is nothing you can do about what's in that room so there is no point for you to try to go in there."

"It depends. They can see your soul. So they already likely know that you are still here and that you let me out. So it doesn't really matter. They may choose to do nothing, or they might punish just me. Or they might punish us both. It depends on them and how Carmella feels if they do tell her." Katarina explained then turned to look at the stairs. "Who knows anymore..."

There was a pause as he narrowed his eyes and turned to look back to the open area as his wings bristled at her words about Ashral. "Excatly, so few choices...so nothing really left to lose is there when the other option is baring your throat and rolling over? " there was a flicker of a frown. "You mention others she used that technique on before. Who else is like Ashral? ...you?" He started to head toward the open area again, following the sense of the dread.

"The choices are stacked. Fight them with not enough power and you are going to end up here like me... or like them. So what options do you have other than to just let her. Vina is the only one that talks about escaping this damn place. But the rest of them are too scared to try after the last time. So I've just accepted it. Not that it really mattered. Dead? Alive? It's all hell to me, so what difference does that make." she spoke bluntly then sighed. "I admire your fight. I think everyone lost theirs years ago... but maybe what they need is another source of heat to light the torch."

She stared at him with her usual look, analyzing his question about others like Ashral. "No, not me. I was born here before my parents were slaughtered in their attempt to escape. I guess they wanted better for me and hoped I could get out, but the irony was I'm still stuck here and they're both dead." she looked away, uneasy about talking of her parents even if her words were bland and unfeeling. "Livy is like Ashral. She was a spirit found on the mainland and put in a Fallen body. That was years ago. You haven't met her since she'd been down here for punishment for running off in town some time ago, but she's gone back to the servant house tonight, so you might see her tomorrow if you're still around." she answered then looked over to the cell with her parents. "Any other questions?"

"I am not that heat....maybe some time ago I could have been. Now I am just ...I don't know" there was a flicker of confusion then a more obvious frown before it faded as he continued to listen. "That must be was when she helped me avoid talking to those women " he said blankly.

"Yes. How are they seeing souls? Why would they not tell the b***h? The guards how many of them guard outside and if they were to go down how many are inside ...or how long will it take for reinforcements to arrive?" He said asked quietly moving up to the edge of the open area and looking in as he listened to her.

There was chuckle that escaped her lips, "Well that's going to suck for Vina, she seems to think you are because of the stunt you pulled in town. Trying to make everyone hopeful for it, I think she was even starting to get Marq hopeful before you started trying to kill yourself." her voice appeared amused, masking her own disheartened feelings. Shaking her head, she tried to rid the whole idea from her mind. Narrowing her eyes, she took a step towards him with a curious look. "So you had something to do with that too?" she muttered rhetorically.

Moving on to his questions, she took a breath. Well, this was expected. "They have crystals that allow them to see souls, kind of like Rika's..." she paused then glanced away. "Vina's." she corrected then moved on. "Depends on if they think it's worth her time. If you just ended up looking around and then were obedient they might assume you got curious, and then spooked by what you found and wouldn't pay mind to that. It's not worth riling up Lady Carmella for things that solve itself. Such as your attempt to kill yourself or the two times your tried to go through the gate. It was handled. So they didn't bother to tell her. But the fire was a hazard and the fact that I was being disobedient caused for her to be alerted. Do you understand?" Katarina folded her arms and stared at him with a stern look as she continued, "There are six guards outside, and six inside two of which are almost always with Lady Carmella. There are also eight of them in town as well. If you started attacking guards and taking them down, you'd have fifteen minutes before the guards in town come here."

Well then, he might have been to quick giving her that crystal but had he known he wouldn't have. "Yes, it was when I originally arrived on the island. They were literally the first people I meet" he said pausing near the open area then looking back at her.

"I doubt it would be so easy to return. I arrived here through use of my powers so they will know I don't have .....access" he narrowed his eyes slightly. "So 20 guards...that's a low number for any house elsewhere. But if there is no trouble then I guess it makes sense" he shifted his eyes slightly, understanding what she meant which was the same think Marq had told him.

"How would they communicate with the guards in town? " he said staring at her "and if guards start dying..do you think your friends will rise up then? " he raise raising his hand to his chest. "Secondly ..if I enter that room do you believe I will be knock out? and if not what is holding the feeling of dread from expanding toward the mansion?" The hand on his heart turned into a fist grabbing just the edges of the crystal he carried underneath.

"I didn't figure it would be easy. I can see your collar is off and the gate was locked. That was a given. Also being that my collar is on high restriction so my use of powers is out of the question." she kept her eyes focused on him as he had been looking towards the open area. "Those twenty people are highly effective. They know our weaknesses and aren't afraid of using that against us." she ran through the questions, thinking of the answers as they came. "They send a beacon, I think." she didn't seem too sure about that answer, not really having been in a situation to know for certain.

"It's possible. I know Vina would in the pursuit of finding her sister. Marq is.. complicated. I think he's scared because of what happened to his brother so if most of us rose up to fight, he'd be more convinced, especially for Vina. Nero will protect Giselle to the death, so if she wanted to fight, he'd protect her no matter what. Giselle gets scared easily so even if she wanted to fight, she's an easy target. Livy is scared of them too and lacks confidence but would fight back if pressured." she explained each person and their motives, hoping that would help him better understand who would fight and who would need convincing and how.

"Enter that room? No. No one is in there. I... I just don't want you to see what's in there. You won't like it. It's not worth it, it'll make things complicated, and you can't do anything about it. It's just dead bodies." she spoke, warning in her voice again but her worried face told a different story. "As for the dread, it's all the magic used to keep souls from escaping when they are brought here. It keeps in the dread too, I suppose." she watched him with careful eyes, noticing grabbing at his chest and wasn't sure what to make of it.

"They only know one of mine " he sighed tiredly, that was the second time a bullet managed to pierce his shield, the first was with the armor units. "Which might help us a little, but that leaves basically Vna as the for sure you as w possibly and everyone else " he looked down at his hand. "What about weapons and armor? What do they have?" He said blankly as he summoned one of his artifacts. "Mean time..I'm taking out a weakness" he said blankly as the blindfold disappeared and a moment later he doubled over screaming as he fell to his knees. ((Soul light level 8: 3 left ))

Moments later a white winged cat appeared laying limp beside him. Slowly Ree got up shaking, his eyes dead as he looked up at Katarina, his body in obvious pain but he pushed it down. "Keep going" he nudged the cat with a wing "Get up. Find them" as the cat laid there trembling while he got to his feet.

Katarina nodded in agreement to his statements. So really he and Ashral were likely the only ones with an advantage while the rest of them would be stuck trying to figure out whether they could even managed a stacked fight. He appeared to understand the motives of everyone at the servant but the more they talked, the more she began to feel like he meant to cause a revolution at this moment. While hopeful, was sudden and reckless to say the least.

"Vina can set herself on fire to protect herself. Nero is extraordinarily resilient when he's a bear. And I can phase. That's really the only things we have at our defense. Offensive, not much either. So consider it a no. As for them, they have weapons: guns, spears, swords. Then they have magic potions and other oddities. They cover their faces with masks to keep their anonymity. There is speculation that they are magis but it's never been proven."

She watched him summon something, a blindfold, and looked confused before it disappeared and he fell down screaming. Katarina watched him, taking a step forward but otherwise didn't change her expression. A winged cat appeared and they were both in pain. None of it made sense and she didn't understand it but just assumed it was his power. She narrowed her eyes. "What are you doing? Are you trying to start a fight now? I don't understand. Why are you doing this?" she asked, confusion and pain flickering in her eyes as she tried to understand why he was causing himself pain and the questions he asked were only causing her to worry.

With the winged cat now in play, it could now see the faint glimmers of lingering souls within the cells, not even strong enough to be more than flickers of light like fireflies that faded in and out. There was something up ahead, a brighter soul up ahead in the open area, it was still and flickered but remained bright enough to catch its attention.

"The Magic potions and oddities. What would those be?" He said calmly as the cat mewed and tried to get up. Saying nothing he leaned down and picked it up shakily, arms trembling as he pulled the cat up to his chest with a faint grimace. Turning slowly he faced the open area and stared blankly before turning away toward the stairs. "Look!" He said simply as the cat lash its tail and tried to curl away hiding its head in his arms."....No. We have to or we won't survive, even if we escape" this time he looked to be talking to the cat.

After a few seconds it lifted its head and looked up, blinking reluctantly as it made note of the location of each of the guards above them as if pounds of dirt weren't between them. Finishing that it looked toward the mansion and noted the people in there to, even if it couldn't differentiate who was who.

"Good" after a bit Ree turned and headed back to the open area as the cat meowed and squirmed in his arm. Putting it down outside he finally stepped into the room "Focus on the bright" he suggested as he looked around the area, adjusting to the flicking of double vision by stopping until it faded. The feeling of dread there just made his stomach flip and his body tense but the cat was more affected as it crouched down on the floor outside, its fur and feathers litrally on ends.
