"Hey, Kursha!" She greeted cheerily, leaning forward on the counter with eager. "Oh sure, thank you! You read my mind. Heheh." Well, it saved her a trip over to the Nightly Grind booth. She took the cup offered to her, settling comfortably in her spot. "Nothing wild! Lots of familiar faces, some new. Same thing, but its been a good time." There seemed to be a slight shimmy to her shoulders as she brought the cup to her lips, eyes sparkling with satisfaction. She paused for a moment to look at him with a genuine smile, "Anything wiiild for you?" As she prepared to listen to him respond, Elidae took a huge swig.
Hot. Hot, hot, hot! The intense spice from hell had her body instinctively want to spit it out. Immediately. Slapping a hand over her mouth, she kept a firm grip as well as kept her mouth clamped shut, though her gag reflex refused the allowance of swallowing. She was practically spitting up all over herself. "MMMMPH?!" Tears welled up at the corners of her eyes and she stared at Kursha with a look of horror that screamed why is this happening.
It burned. It burned so bad and it was still sitting in her mouth. Scrambling over to the side of the booth, Elidae threw herself over the counter to spit the entire mouthful into the snow. For a moment she laid there halved over in silence aside from her heavy breathing, her mouth scotched with traces of the liquid inferno still lingering. Shocked, bewildered, angry. The yellowblood shot a look over her shoulder, eyes flaring as hot as Cerise's hot shots. They flickered between Kursha, the Nightly Grind cup, Kursha, the cup. Kursha.

The first two seconds went as well as he could have hoped. Elidae's eyes grew big and her hand flew to her mouth. He grinned. Successful prank. He just needed to give her the real hot chocolate and all would be well. When Elidae did not spit the drink out right away however, he began to have doubts. He stood up from his reclined position. Then a few seconds later the tears came. As Elidae looked at him, tears streaming down her face and front spattered with cocoa, he knew he had made a mistake. If there was ever an opportune time to drop dead, this would be it. With a nervous smile, Kursha reached out to... to do something. Just then, Elidae rushed to the side, and pitched herself over the counter. She spit the remaining mouthful into the snow. Kursha recoiled, uncertain. His eyes darted around the booth, looking for something that could help. Nothing seemed useful. He glanced back at Elidae. The look she gave him made him freeze. He had received angry glares before. Hell, it seemed most times there were at least one or two trolls who had a bone to pick with him. For the most part, he had gotten used to the irritated and accusing looks sent his way. None of them flattened him like the one he received now though. At some point he regained fine motor control. He grabbed the cup he had set down earlier and made his way over to where Elidae lay over the counter. “Here, drink this,” he said, holding it towards her. “It's safe—promise. The milk should help with the burn. In the meantime I could... get some napkins or something...”

When she looked away from him, Elidae's eyes began to sting with fresh tears. These were unrelated to the burning sensation in her mouth, but due to the pure mortification crushing her. Her face pinched. When she realized he was making his way over, Elidae wilted, slinking down from the counter and turning away. Obstructing her face from his view with her sleeve, she haphazardly waved her hand around for the second cup. Failing to do so, she stole a quick glance from above her arm, glaring from Kursha to the cup, lingering a moment on the former. Once she swiped it out of his hands, she swiftly turned back around and brought it up to her lips. She paused. He promised it was safe, but Elidae checked anyways. He was right. After taking a big gulp. she felt sweet relief, the burning fading away.
"I-I have- I have napkins in the back!" She finally responded, raspy and pitched. Stumbling away from the front counter, Elidae made her way to rummage around for something to clean herself up with. There were a few loud bangs as she aggressively searched, but she found what she needed. She made sure she didn't have anything on her face, but when she looked down, her scarf and front of her sweater were stained, the lingering peppery scent making her nauseated. Elidae drew in a sharp breath through her nose, placing her hands on her hips and straightened her back. The knot in her stomach did not compare to the cluster of emotions she felt. It was all too exhausting to really pin down. Was this an unfortunate muck up on one of Nucleo clone's part or some cruel joke played by Kursha? It only took her a moment, but she realized he was unusually prepared for this. Turning back around, she blinked at him and cleared her throat, lips taut in a forced smile. In her gaze, however, she fumed.
"Did.. did you know?" She struggled to ask, but Elidae already knew the answer despite wishing maybe he hadn't. She stared at him expectantly.

As soon as Elidae turned her back on him, Kursha considered making himself scarce. He could always find an excuse later: something came up, he went to get help, to punish the booth owner for the supposed mix-up... Now there was a possibility. He could pin everything on the greenblood that worked the coffee stand. Even as that idea sprang into existence however, he regretted it. The thought left him feeling unclean. It was an uncomfortable feeling, one that he had never experienced before. No... not never. An old memory dredged its way way up to the surface of his thoughts, of a young pigeon and a joke about target practise. The circumstances were entirely different and yet the feeling was the same. He could not bring himself to do it. When Elidae turned back around, Kursha was still standing there, looking uncomfortable and unusually small. His hands were in his pockets, his shoulders hunched, and his eyes cast downwards. He very deliberately avoided meeting her furious gaze. First Regina and now... this. Just when he thought he had some kind of handle on himself again. How many times would he come to pieces? “I didn't... think it would be that bad...” he mumbled. For a split moment, he glanced up at Elidae. “Are you all right?”

Seeing his deflated form in front of her had Elidae completely fall apart. Anger diminishing, her eyebrows furrowed together and her breath hitched. Though it came as a shock and certainly embarrassed her, she suddenly felt more upset by the way she responded than the actual prank itself. Lips parted to say something, she stood there for a long moment, unsure how to answer. Maybe he was just having a little bit of fun, she tried to tell herself. It was in poor taste, but she couldn't think he would do something like that to her maliciously. Right?
"Ahh.. I'm..." Elidae faltered, There was a long pause. "... Yes, I'm all right." She finally replied sheepishly, keeping her gaze cast downwards to the side, mirroring him. Adjusting her weight, she fiddled with the seams of her sleeves nervously. Looking up at him with softened, unsure eyes, she moved her mouth to the side in consideration. Elidae sighed, loosening her strained stance and stepped forward closer to him on the other side of the counter. Then, a soft laugh could be heard, that grew into a faint set of giggles.
"That was really, really hot!" Although still uneasy, she offered Kursha as best a smile she could muster, trying to catch his eye by ducking slightly into his line of vision. "You... you got me pretty good! That was pretty clever!" Her voice sounded small and hesitant, but her attempts to lighten the situation were sincere.

Kursha tried hard not to fidget. His gaze flickered towards Elidae, searching her expression for some kind of clue before looking away again. The silence that had fallen since his admission twisted his insides. Back stiff and jaw tight, he found himself bracing for a counter-attack, even as she began speaking again. He had already seen the disappointment behind her fury. Blame would follow. It always did. And yet... Kursha blinked as Elidae ducked down into his line of sight with a smile. His brow furrowed. He stared at her, trying to discern whether or not she had planted a trap. Then realisation settled in and he broke into an earnest grin. “Really?” he asked, beaming. He caught himself just in time. “I mean...” His body relaxed and his gaze swivelled away from Elidae once more. In a sudden change of character he switched back to his usual drawl. “I thought it was all right. It was just kind of spur of the moment. Nothing special.” He waved his hand dismissively. “Anyway, I figured that since you were cooped up here you should still be able to experience Bloodfest, so why not bring some of it back?” He glanced back at her. “You're sure you're all right?” he pressed. Behind the bravado he still felt a niggling trace of doubt.

Returning the beam, Elidae relaxed due to his endearing response. The immediate shift in personality had her raise her brows and blink, though she neither felt surprised or lack thereof; the more time she spent with Kursha, the more she could learn from the ebb of his character. He settled back to his usual manner of speech and, swallowing her slight disappointment, Elidae chose to laugh it off, nodding her head along and placing her hands on her hips. "Bringing me some of Bloodfest, huh? Should have brought me the winterbeast then." She giggled and winked, tone (maybe) unintentionally flirtatious.
"Hm?" Elidae felt surprised by his pressing question. Looking up and to the side, she pretended to mull over the question with a cheeky smile. Immediately after, she chimed a laugh and gave a dismissive hand wave. "I'm sure! After a thought, she added with gentle sincerity, being sure to reassure him. "I promise!"
Looking up, she noticed a few patrons appearing needing her attention soon. "Ah- but you owe me a real hot chocolate!" Elidae quickly added, playfully sticking out her tongue at him.
