She's very friendly, open, and caring, mothering those around her every now and then much as Mitsutada does. She also enjoys cooking, like Mitsutada and 'grandpa' Date Masamune. From Ookurikara, she picked up a very blunt honesty. If she doesn't like something, she is not afraid to tell you that she doesn't like it. She also picked up his protectiveness, although she has not had much chance to display that at the current time. She enjoys going out and helping the villagers in the fields. One elderly woman had given Hira a few small plants as thanks for all her hard work, so now she has Lavender, Daisy, and Zinnia flowers in little clay pots outside the door to her room that leads into the garden. She is also seeking to learn the language of flowers, wanting to learn the meanings behind various flowers she encounters. Her personal favorite flower is the Dahlia. She passes by a large Dahlia plant that has flowers in ever color imaginable every time she goes to help out in the fields.

Enemies:: Everyone else Personality:: Ookurikara is distant, grumpy, and can be hard to get along with or get to know. The only ones he opens up to are Shokudaikiri Mitsutada and Date Masamune. Ookurikara smells of cinnamon, not that anyone other than Mitsu, Masa, and Hira would really know this and live to tell about it. This could be one of many reasons for his irritability since constantly smelling cinnamon might put him in a constant state of being hungry, which would lead to being hangry. He likes that Mitsu smells of lavender. Mitsu is one of the few things that helps calm Kuri down, but at the same time, is one of the quickest and surest ways to piss Kuri off, if you are messing with Mitsu. Messing with Masamune or Hira is another of his rage triggers, as is playing pranks on him, Masa, Hira, or Mitsu. He has recently spoken with Heshikiri Hasebe and the two have a truce of sorts going on. Ookurikara Voiced By: Makoto Furukawa "...I'm Ookurikara. I don't have anything else to say. Don't get too friendly with me. " An uchigatana (formerly classified by the game as a tachi) who was wielded by Date Masamune. He prefers being alone and working alone. Tropes associated with Ookurikara: Affectionate Nickname: Shokudaikiri calls him "Kuri-chan" and "Kara-chan", while Tsurumaru calls him "Kara-bou".. Aloof Ally - Very aloof, since he refuses to get along with the Saniwa or the other swords, but he'll still fight alongside everyone anyway. To the point it's always the first thing he says to the swords talking to him and according to Mitsutada, he even says it to the enemies before cutting them down. "I will fight alone... I will die alone... That's just fine with me." Despite his appearance and attitude, he is regarded as a prominent worker; while second in command, he takes his job with pride and obtains skills that allow him to surpass many of his fellow Turks. He has a rebellious temperament and his actions can be sadistic, contrasting his laid back personality. Reno is left-handed; even if he is occasionally seen holding his weapon in his right hand in promotional images, he only ever uses it left-handed in any media he has been depicted in.
Reno possesses a distinct speech pattern in Japanese, speaking in a drawling, slangy manner and, most notoriously, ending most of his sentences with zo to (ぞ, と), yo to (よ, と), or simply to (と). Tifa receives a phone call near the beginning of Advent Children, and, although the caller's voice is not heard, the audience understands it is from Reno, as Tifa jokingly replies, "Oboeteru, zo to" ("I remember you, yo"; "Yeah, I remember you" in the English dub). The official page for the film also makes a nod to this. Speech patterns such as Reno's are impossible to translate directly into English and can only be approximated by attempting to capture the same "feeling" as the original, which the game's English translation and the movie did not attempt to do.
Reno and Rude primarily serve as the comic relief in Advent Children, exemplified by cartoon violence. Reno's design overhaul for the film eliminates the somewhat sly and shady air he had in the original game. The Turks

The Department of Administrative Research, unofficially known as the Turks, are Shinra's Black Ops unit. They carry out assassinations, blackmail, and the forced recruiting of potential SOLDIER candidates. The group acts as general information experts in the expanded universe, and Before Crisis focuses on the history of their group, introducing more members that serve as the playable cast.
All of them appear in: Before Crisis, Crisis Core, FFVII, Advent Children.
Affably Evil: Collectively they seem a decent bunch to hang out with, unless you're their target. Badass in a Nice Suit: The iconic Turk uniform is a dark blue/black suit that they all wear. There's a partial exception in Reno, who wears his messily with his jacket unbuttoned and shirt untucked. Characterization Marches On: Reno was a competent Deadpan Snarker in the original game. In Advent Children, he became the Plucky Comic Relief. There have been reports, though, that the Deadpan Snarker version of him was an alteration of the translation and that he was supposed to have been comical in the original Japanese. Deadpan Snarker: Reno is very sarcastic and snarky. Determinator: In Advent Children, Rude and Reno are clearly out of their league against Kadaj's gang. They don't care. They just keep fighting. The Dragon: Collectively the entire group is this trope to Rufus, acting as his personal enforcers. Before Crisis establishes backstory that while the Turks are part of the larger Shinra hierarchy, their final loyalty is to Rufus. Evil Redhead: Reno, but only in the original game. In other appearances he's more an Anti-Villain than straight evil. Fiery Redhead: Reno could be considered a male example, being very spry and talkative. Four Is Death: Played straight in the first game, where they're something of a legitimate threat (until Sephiroth shows up, at least). Subverted in the film, given their Heel-Face Turn. Goldfish Poop Gang: Reno and Rude quickly devolve into this in the original game, showing up repeatedly to get their butts handed to them and then running off. They only become dangerous again in their last battle when accompanied by (previously thought to be incompetent) Elena. I Owe You My Life: Before Crisis reveals that after Veld and the player Turks betrayed the company and went rogue, Scarlet ordered the last three members loyal to Shinra — Tseng, Reno and Rude — exterminated and the Turks shut down. Rufus intervened to keep the group alive, demanding their absolute loyalty to him in exchange. Leitmotif: The iconic Turk theme accompanies them in all their appearances. A Million Is a Statistic: The effect of Reno and the Turks following through with the command to drop the Sector 7 plate, killing hundreds or perhaps thousands of people, has noticeably less impact on the characters (and the fans) than Sephiroth impaling Aerith. No Pronunciation Guide: "Reno" is derived from the romaji "Reno," and should therefore rhyme with Leno, rather than the city in Nevada. Punch Clock Villains: To the point that they even agree to help the heroes when they are found off-duty in Wutai. They'll still commit atrocities when ordered to by their boss, but hey. Quirky Mini Boss Squad: They're comic relief, usually too silly to be a real threat, all wear the same uniform, and are lower-ranking members of Shinra. Simple Staff: Reno and Rod (Male) fight with short metal rods. Skippable Boss: The only times they have to be fought is the first Reno fight and the fight with Rude at Rocket Town. All others can be skipped or those areas passed over. Even the final confrontation is skippable, if you've completed the Wutai quest. The Southpaw: Reno is always seen wielding his weapon in his left hand, and rarely uses his right hand in any depictions of him. However, a defect in his system makes him unable to walk on land, being only able to move by jumping. After seeing this, Wily couldn't help but laugh at his way of moving. Despite this flaw, Bubble Man is at home in the water, being able to swim at remarkable speed.
Bubble Man attacks with normal shots from a Buster on his arm, and can fire his Special Weapon, the Bubble Lead, from both the aforementioned arm cannon and a special Bubble Gun on top of his head. Bubble Man can utilise the bubbles for several different purposes, including hitting opponents with bursts of small bubbles and blowing larger and more durable bubbles to either wrap opponents inside to trap them temporarily, or for Bubble Man himself to hide in as a shield.
Despite often being the butt of jokes due to his design flaws, Bubble Man is an affable and high-spirited individual, but has a bad habit of lavishly spending money when he has it. He enjoys bathing in hot springs in his spare time, but much like the later-introduced Wave Man, has a vehement dislike for water pollution, especially oil slicks. A Robot Master designed for underwater combat. Due to a design flaw, he can only move by jumping on land. He makes up for this by being able to swim gracefully.

Bubble Gun: One of his weapons. Butt Monkey: Dr. Wily can't help but laugh at his way of moving. Harpoon Gun: One of his other weapons when you fight him. Logical Weakness: Metal Blades can easily pop him. Making a Splash: First Water Robot Master and uses bubbles as his main weapon. No Sell: Air Shooter, Atomic Fire, Leaf Shield, and Time Stopper don't do anything to him. Using his own weapon will heal him completely. Spikes of Doom: They line the ceiling of his room to punish you if you jump too high. Turns Red: In The Power Fighters: He summons four bubbles that contain crabs, which float to the ceiling of the arena. While shrinking the area the player can jump, the crabs will in time fall to help Bubble Man. Masamune's Number Two, retainer and overall right-hand man, introduced as an NPC in Sengoku Basara 2. Loyal, devoted and extremely protective of his master, and serves as a calmer counterpoint to the Hot-Blooded Masamune. He is arguably just as cool though.
Adaptation Dye-Job: The franchise can't seem to agree whether his hair is black or brown. Alliterative Name: Only in English (since in Japanese it's "ka" and "ko"). Undying Loyalty Unstoppable Rage: After Hisahide steals Masamune's swords, kidnaps some Date troops and injures Masamune, he sends Fuma out to intercept Kojuro, who's so pissed he enters "Berserk Mode" and proceeds to completely brutalize him. And in season 2, after escaping Toyotomi, he hunts down Hanbe to make him pay for cutting Masamune's back. Wiser Advisor: Far more level-headed and cautious than Masamune, who he tries to keep in check and teach about the ways of war. Also comes up with all the army's battle strategies.
