It's better to live with their whispers than with nothing at all..."It was a bright morning in the Kingdom of Harutopia...the scouts and patrols were already out and about as the birds were singing just beyond the doors of the Cineplex...and upon the throne within the building the King was dead asleep, splayed out and lightly snoring as the Red Count Belial and Nebiros stood guard on either side of their master. And playing in the center of the auditorium was a little girl in a blue dress with blonde hair, snickering playfully to herself as she seemed to be coming up with a plot of some sort to tease the King when he awakened from his slumber.
...And it was just like that, that strange scene, that the assassin saw as he slipped into the auditorium on behalf of the Stone Temple Pilot Bloodhound Gang to take another swipe at the life of the one who so vexed their master. Only keeping to the shadows wasn't an option against demons as terrifying as these. Instantly the little girl's eyes flashed towards the person, her ghostly smile freezing him where he stood.
"Hey mister. Won't you Die for Me?"

He didn't even have time to scream.  Ellie Troit, Heroine, and Ruler of Troitown!! Ellie found herself stepping outside, looking at the summoning Terminal.
"Eh, I've had enough demons possessing me. One more won't hurt." she called, putting her phone on it. For a few moments, a red being emerged, moving into her. She then scowled...started to turn red from pure anger, and did the only thing one could do in this scenario.....
Twenty or so minutes later, she returned carrying a huge-portion of supplies from a JPs controlled base, broken phones, noses, and tools in her wake."Where were you, Lady Ellie?""Getting more supplies! We were starting to run a bit low on hot sauce.."
The poor, poor JPs agents. If they were lucky, they might be able to get plastic surgery after the post-apocalypse. Minori Koroko  The girl looked at the base...fortress...city? that was Harutopia at the distance (or that is what Minori had heard others saying). What kind of name was that anyway? Still... if there was a safe place... this would be probably it. Maybe... she would find some of her friends here? It was a shot in the dark, but... it could work. She rolled her sore shoulders as she defeated a little group of Poltergeists haunting the street.

Sano Gallen  Before the deadly 'buds' could hit Minori, a flash of red cut them down. A fierce looking demon had appeared to keep the projectiles at bay. Shortly after that, a hand suddenly reached out to grab the back collar of Minori's shirt much like grabbing a pup by the scruff of its neck. Sano pulled back on it hard to fling the blond into a building that managed to remain standing despite the chaos. "Now isn't this just pathetic. The whole world comes crumbling down and your 'heroic' bravado goes down with it. Here I was, expecting your little band of do-gooders to band together and I just find you all.. scattered. Pathetic really. So I decided to save your sorry hide just so you can relish the memory that an enemy saved you from certain death. Aren't you grateful?" The blood stained man said, a smirk across his face. He didn't care if this angered Minori, in fact he was hoping for it. Something to break apart the recent boredom. Quote: -25 to save Minori! Minori Koroko She thought she was going to die. Perhaps she had been darn close to it, too. But someone yanked at her collar and pulled her away from the attack's range just barely. The blond lost her balance and dropped to the floor disoriented anyway. Listening to the voice, Minori turned, surprised to see just who had saved her. "Sano..."
He was teasing her... pressing on the wound, but... she knew better than reacting to the provocation in this situation. Minori stood up, not saying anything to his teasing words. "Actually, I am... Life is life." Perhaps that would anger him, but really... she didn't give a damn.

Sano Gallen "Life is Life..?" The anger could be heard in Sano's voice as he hissed this. He didn't even bother turning around when a Megrez Bud appeared behind him, aiming to end his life. His demon made short work of it before that could happen. He stepped forward to glare down at Minori, the hate clear in his eyes. "I expected more of a rise out of someone like you.. How boring. I think I'll get let you die next time and then drag your corpse over to Nix so she can see." With that said, he left with intentions of heading back to Inaba. Quote: -25 to live Left to Inaba! It's better to live with their whispers than with nothing at all..."It had been a hectic day in the Kingdom of Harutopia; Buds from the newest strange monster that plagued the city were falling from the sky and shaking buildings, scaring people and generally killing anyone who wasn't smart enough to either gang up on them or flee when they were caught out alone. All day long there had been people rushing to the King with reports of new Buds appearing in the station, and the warriors among them had run to and fro trying to keep up and cut them down before things got too bad and the Provinces they had managed to annex were destroyed. They had shed blood, sweat, and tears in their pursuit of those lands. He would be damned if after taking down one Septentrione, another managed to take it from them!
"Demon horde attacking Chag-ri-la, Sir! The garrison is beating them back, but they're low on ammo."
Ah, and the demons...still out there, still causing trouble. Haruto was stretching super thin at this point...it was survival, but the utopian ideal of always having enough for the people of the Kingdom was beginning to be stretched. Troitown's supply of burgers wouldn't last forever...
"Take a quarter of the station's ammo to reinforce their supplies. Tell the local troops to switch to melee for now unless a Bud appears. Ammo has to be conserved for crises now."

It's better to live with their whispers than with nothing at all...""Can anybody get me word on Grand Duke Mandingo Pendragon's forces over at Mandragora? How are they holding up against the Buds and the demons?" the King asked as he got his weapons and demons ready for another invasion of the devils and otherworldly buds to crash down upon the Kingdom. There was no rhyme or reason to it, so constant patrols were necessary to pick off any stragglers and get to the locations of the newest attack points sooner. He had taken the lead on as many as he could handle, but things were starting to look grim everywhere in the Kingdom. Either the main Megrez Body died soon, or Harutopia was going to be looking seriously soon at contracting land and perhaps, worst case scenario, going into exile...
"A letter from the Grand Duke has just arrived, saying that the defense is going well, but that if you could relieve a siege of demons some time this week they would appreciate liberation from the stench."

It's better to live with their whispers than with nothing at all..."Throughout the day, as he had read in the letter, Mandragora had been under siege by demons...but at last the riders of Harutopia had come to relieve the pressure they were under! Storming in with their demons at the ready they crashed against the massive hordes of Abbadon, Ganesha, Girimekhala, and Kumbhanda with the ferocity of...a bunch of humans desperate to survive and rescue their friends who were about to die if they didn't come and save them. That was pretty powerful stuff right there! But even so, the demons were able to repel most of the initial attack...it was getting vicious! Dangerous! And then...
...Behind the lines the King arose, eyes flashing gold...hair changing to a gold as his clothes seemed to shimmer and reflect an ethereal...blue dress? And that smile...creepy, evil...innocent?
"Demons, could you please do me one favor?" he asked as the darkness rose around him, "Could you just...die for me?!"
...They never knew what hit them...

It's better to live with their whispers than with nothing at all..."He took a long sip and felt the stares inching in his direction...there was really nothing like sitting down at Chag-ri-la and having a nice cup of Pheromone Coffee. It tasted great, it felt great, and the looks that the ladies gave you were smashing for raising your self-confidence, even if you already knew you were a sexy beast. Haruto brushed his fingertips over the ring on the cup and encircled it casually, lifting it to his lips once more. A few down minutes after the lifted siege and the visit to the research facility to relax and enjoy some coffee was the first reprieve from the action he'd had all day. Sure, he'd been jonesing and requested some of the coffee be brought to the throne room in Haruto City (new name of the Harutopian Capitol) earlier, but still!

In his hand was a cup of Pheromone Coffee...lining the red carpet towards this throne were the many faces that had made this place possible...some of them, at least...Cocky Leader, d**k-Rice, Jack the Crier, Mandingo Pendragon...
And times were good...even when they were awful.
