Doubleback understood the unwillingness some might have to speak after seeing her singled out, but retreating from an accusation was like lying down ready and surrendering. She did not believe in surrendering, especially when, if that person was prey, then they did the entire group a disservice by giving into death so easily.

Wild Cry's accusation she ignored. She'd already given an explanation of her actions and simply saying "it was more convincing" without any points to back it up gave Doubleback nothing to reply to.

Click to show.Turns out Look-See's stretch and meditation took the form of a nap and before she knew it, she dreamt of hawks and carrion birds singing their war cry as they descended onto the snowbank to build sculptures of kin likeness. Sigh, such soothing sounds to lull her subconscious mind to sleep. When she awoke from her fitful slumber she noticed the other kin were still going around in circles. Taking inspiration from her dreams she cast her vote haphazardly.

"Arctic Waste, I suppose." she declared to pile of sticks. He smelled of too ripe berries and long nights among the cattails.

Trouble refrains from rolling her eyes a little. Hadn't she made her point? But, clearly... she hadn't. Otherwise perhaps she wouldn't be in this position. She frowns a little, considering.

"Well.... Though I find her mannerisms to be quite endearing, in fact, I think that is also the heart of my suspicion for her. But, as I said, she isn't the only one I'm suspicious of. It makes it rather very difficult to make a choice, doesn't it, when you don't know for sure whether you're right or wrong, especially so early on!" She sighs. "I voted for her because it seems that the best way, or one of them, at any rate, to deflect attention from oneself is to seem unassuming. And so that is why I voted for her. A far better reason that voting just to vote randomly," and here she glances at Wintershadow and Bare Trees both, neither of which gave any explanation for tossing her name into the fire, so to speak.

"And I think," Sun Sinks Down answered, "that continuing to point out how she voted for him and then she got removed, after we've all said it wasn't a bright tactic, might count as trying to lead a vote against him." Her shoulders shifted slightly, a shrug. "But since there's more than one name coming up in votes, you're right. It isn't a very good campaign."

There was her explanation for the way she'd voted, out in the clear.

Swamp still didn't know who to vote for. Taking a deep breath, she let her mind calm down. "Trouble" She gave a slightly apologetic look to the doe, but even in a game she still held some loyalty to kin that she vaguely knew through the tribe. Part of the problems being more of a loner, she didn't know how to judge who could be what or even what they wanted.

His jaw dropped. "You- you what?" he stammered. "They live all over the swamp, some people even keep them as pets, how could you have not - gosh," he concluded, flabbergasted. "You really need to get out more."

"I think it's silly that people are voting to kill Wintershadow for being in the crowd when everyone else is, too - it's the very definition of a crowd!" Yet she didn't think Arctic Waste was necessarily malicious: he may have just been intending to hide a random vote. Still, it was silly reasoning, and she remembered the faces of the kin who followed it carefully. But she nodded at Look-See, regardless. She thought the vote was a fair one, even though the white doe hadn't given a reason for it.

And then there was the issue of Doubleback, too. "I see Neither Nor's point, but I hardly think Doubleback deserves to die when all she's done is state a fact." She frowned carefully. "I think she's making an excellent contribution to gameplay, in fact!" She was at least participating in the conversation with more than silly platitudes, and she showed a willingness to push at people she found strange instead of arbitrarily voting.

Although Optimist herself had voted for Trouble, she was beginning to feel uneasy about the bandwagon forming against her. Of course she still found Trouble fairly suspicious but there was no way that all these voices suddenly chiming in to kill her were perfectly innocent, either. She eyed the quieter people who'd voted for her, and As the Sun Burns, especially, because she'd already found voting for him compelling, and his defense of arbitrary reasoning wasn't giving him any points in her book.

Prying her eyes away from the other buck, with what seems like a dead bird swung over his back now, she can't seem to recall running into that particular kind. Swans and songbirds she'd seen plenty before. "Never seen one like that, perhaps, maybe I might in the future, or something."

Upon hearing Sage's last comment, she looked at him. Why was he so shocked? "I have been meaning to. It's just, I'm quite fond of this one area in the swamp. I've found so many bones there so I made it my home."

She had voted against him, and he was still a little sore about being voted against in the first place, but the fact that she called him green was just too amusing to be too upset. "My lady, I am clearly blue," He gave a shrug, "I see why you would see my vote as odd. In retrospect, I do wish I had a better reason, but what is done is done and that is all there is to it." This was all just a game. He just had to keep that in mind, is all.

Her eyes picked up a soft chuckling sound coming from someone she voted for. "Blue?" Perhaps her eyes are failing on her for today's game? It didn't help that most of them were standing in the shade either. Taking another go at Watch she noticed his colourations. "Why yes you are. My apology. Arr.. We were just looking and discussing about that crane on your back." She kept her distance not knowing if he was offended by her suddenly casting a vote against him. "No offense, your previous vote was rather odd. And so is this bird." Eyeing the crane from a distance, she wanted to ask permission to stick her nose into the dead game, to touch it. but right now it felt a bit awkward. Is it alright to converse with someone she thinks to be predator material in this game?

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Optimist frowned at As the Sun Burns. She really didn't think he was contributing much to the game at this point, other than a discussion of his crane, which seemed clearly irrelevant. What he said clearly wasn't all there was to it - not if he was going to keep simply voting according to the crowd. Kiss of Death she paid no mind to - the doe had voted reasonably, in Optimist's opinion.

She glanced again at Trouble, though, because that answer made Optimist even more suspicious of her. "That's essentially what you said the first time," she told the doe, rather unimpressed. "Anyway, I think that's silly." She looked toward Apathy with her snake and looked away again. "We don't know that her personality is different otherwise, and saying that her affability makes her suspicious has nothing really to do with how she's playing the game." To be honest, Optimist didn't really have suspicions either way with regards to Apathy, although she did wish the doe would talk a little more about things more relevant to the game at hand.

"Well you don't have to go very far at all to see some things," Wild Sage pressed on. "Most bodies of water that have fish will have cranes, too." He tactfully chose to ignore the part about the bones - her teeth made the explanation for that one pretty apparent.

Sage smiled and dipped his head as As The Sun Burns approached, both in greeting and with just a touch of second-hand embarrassment for Kiss of Death. The other buck was pretty clearly blue.

"She's never seen a crane before," he told the other buck incredulously. "Can you believe it? I understand why," he offered apologetically to Kiss Of Death, "But it's a bit surprising, you know? Yours is very nice, by the way," Sage added, turning back to Watch. "Lovely plumage."

Snake Flower had kept quiet for the majority of the discussion- having decided that she'd rather listen than lead. She was nervous, now- second guessing herself as she usually would. It was her that had put the spotlight on The Once And Future King; and now the doe was out of the game completely! The little flower, being such a fragile thing, felt guilt for having chosen so quickly and with so much accusation. This time, she wanted to wait.

And so wait she did, hearing the votes called out and letting the discussion sink into her ears and fill her thoughts. She was a logical little one, despite her nervous ticks. Intelligent, when it came to weaving paths and connecting the dots. Still, though much- indeed- was said; they, at this point, could only point blindly towards other kin. They had only one clue, and still so many fellow prey standing before them and the predators.

Snake Flower gives a soft little sigh; she did not know who to choose, and thus she went with the majority. Perhaps, tomorrow, they'd have a better idea of how to come to a more logical conclusion. "Trouble." She says, giving a nod of her head. "I feel like we still just don't have enough information... so- so I'm siding with the majority. Sorry." She hoped no one would be cross at her for having such a weak-willed point of view.

Trouble merely smiles thinly as a few more stones are tossed on her grave. Oh well. So much for that. She supposes she could have a thin chance if all the predators have already voted -- no doubt likely to go for the wounded before anything else, and if those who've yet to vote also voted for another. It seems highly unlikely.

Although, I suppose if one were to live in the drier parts of the swamp, it would be less likely to see them. They are water fowl, of course." The red eyed buck gave a nod to the green one as well, "And thank you. It was a gift made by Never Idle." He gave a smile and flicked his tail in the direction of the yellow doe who was sneering in their direction, "I could show you a wonderful spot to see the, my lady, and you if you would like, but it will have to wait until after the game. It would seem that simple conversation is frowned upon by others."
