At first, upon learning about these, I thought it was a great way to get quick gold. However, now I truly see the consequences, and will not be using these anytime in the future. I pledge never to use a gold generator. emotion_yatta

Lucy_Luvsnutmilk I don't think I really understand this gold generator millarky. So lets see, if i buy a rig i get a random item, but similar but you get gold. So are ppl buying these things in a hope to win more gold than the item cost? if thats the case then it would be like banks investin money to get more knowin that they may lose some or get more...that's pretty bad considerin whats been happenin. So i'm deffo against that, but wot happens when you get one of these as a gift or in the dump? Wot do you do wiv it if you're against it, you can't give it away as it will get used and you don't wanna use it as it's bad for Gaia economy. I'll take the pledge but i don't know wot to do wiv them if you get given one. If you get one as a gift or grab one from the dumpster you can go to your inventory and click on the item it will give you the option to open, donate to the dumpster, or trash it. Click on the trash option and it will disappear form your invo and the site forever. Item RIG's are fine because they only give you items, more items being put into the system will help things to deflate. The gold generators will give you a random sum of gold which is bad because it puts more gold into the system. Some rigs give the option to get gold instead of items/charms you can use those rigs as long as you only choose the item or charm option.

I have a question, as so many are against GGs I'm guessing they always pick the item prize from this events fish hole rigs?
I don't, I always pick the gold because that prize is worth more than the items who have deflated down to a 100m value... while I get mostly a minimum of 1b from the gold prizes (I once even won 60b x.x)

I would say that it´s stupid to chose the gold because it IS a gold generating item smile It´s better to just go with the items and sell the items, instead of generating more gold into the system ^^

Madeleine Heilburg I would say that it´s stupid to chose the gold because it IS a gold generating item smile It´s better to just go with the items and sell the items, instead of generating more gold into the system ^^ I will continue picking the gold though, means I will have more gold for my charity as I already have about 1000 items to give away there... gained only from this event + all these bundles I have yet to open (about 100 of them x.x) So many items... had to make a mule account to send some of the stuff to, or I would have been flooded... and drowned in items xp

If it's not too much of a bother, could you strike me out from the list? I no longer believe in it, not to such dimensions that people aren't allowed to chose which prize to pick for items they have worked to obtain from tex. events. That's frankly bs... sorry, but that I believe.

I'll remove you.
People are free to pick what they wish, but they must be aware that choosing to generate more gold does damage to the economy, which ultimately hurts them, in the end, because prices of everything skyrocket. If I may, what I find to be "frankly bs" is that people continue to ignore this fundamental economic reality and damage everyone else's Gaia experience out of nothing but their own selfishness. Keira Lorelei If it's not too much of a bother, could you strike me out from the list? I no longer believe in it, not to such dimensions that people aren't allowed to chose which prize to pick for items they have worked to obtain from tex. events. Flooding the economy with gold from RIGs is why it costs so much money to run a charity in the first place. If everyone thought like this, the amount of gold you would need to fund your charity would keep climbing and climbing. The first page explains all of this in detail.
Furthermore, the mathematical reality doesn't support your claims.
A single Old Fishing Hole rig is going for 20 billion gold on the Marketplace, guaranteed, which is worth 20 times the 1 billion gold minimum payout you're only betting on (but might not win). If you buy a five-pack, that's a guaranteed 50 billion gold where you might earn a measly 5 billion gold by choosing the gold option when opening up the RIG. You could literally earn 10-20 times more gold by simply selling the items on the Marketplace while not contributing to what's destroying (or has destroyed, rather) our economy. Keira Lorelei I have a question, as so many are against GGs I'm guessing they always pick the item prize from this events fish hole rigs? I don't, I always pick the gold because that prize is worth more than the items who have deflated down to a 100m value... while I get mostly a minimum of 1b from the gold prizes (I once even won 60b x.x)

Just throwing my two cents in....but I look at the gold from the fish rig for this event as not gold from a rig that you can buy over and over, but as a reward for defeating the kin, especially since you already get pure gold as a reward sometimes for winning, and for leveling up your kin.

Update!
I've streamlined some of the formatting on the first post, first of all, but most importantly, I expanded upon the "GCash Purchasable" option we have when selling items in the Marketplace, and why we should leave that little box unchecked! Click here for more information!

I take the pledge.
Let's get Gaia back to the old days when there was no signs of inflation. I understand why Gaia did the GG's, to raise money for their corp but doing so has only hurt them as so many, myself included, have grown tired of it. I think creating more worthwhile items, for both genders, is the way to go. Give me items worth buying rather than gold that holds no value.
