Eri really didn't care about the Synth. Such obvious disrespect to her very nature, why should she? Hands behind back, wrists grasped by fingers, she'd follow.

"Mn." Is her only response to his dialogue, watching the small of his back with odd eyes, like she really wasn't all there.

The synth had reactivated long ago, but it remained limp, pain reception was turned off, as well as any other sensory activity besides sight. His eyes remained open, yet umoving. Like a big, dead, doll. It simply observed, saying nothing.

Then again, it didn't go unnoticed.

Security had indeed called for a few men to head outside and detain the synth until the proper authorities could be informed. She might not have thought to bring the guy in, but the security chief had. And meanwhile, while the being was being taken in towards a holding cell in the lower basements, Eripse was being taken to the office of...

"Roth Sinclaire, Commander of the Aekea division of RIOT. A pleasure to meet you, Eri. We already have you on file, so let's get to brass tacks. I'm sure you've heard about the recent riots and terrorist attacks as of late... unless you don't watch much TV, that is. No offense- there are people out there that don't, I understand."

Eri shrugged her shoulders.

"Unless, you know, it got looted. But no, I've gotten the general idea of what's going on. What do you want me to do?"

She'd adjust shotgun on the strap, angling it towards the ground, putting the strap on one shoulder.

"Cause right now, I'm basically sitting on my hands with no clue what to do. Point me. Instruct me."

He nodded and said, "There's plenty for you to do here, frankly. Until a peaceful solution can be worked out for all this by the headquarters in Durem, we need to make sure that no other lives are endangered. That means offerring our assistance to local police forces in counter-terrorist operations and riot control. They can handle the petty crimes themselves- I'm certain they have the mindset for it, of course.

"Naturally, there may or may not be attacks on this very front, so a portion of our forces will have to stay here, just in case s**t goes down.

"It's a difficult situation at best... so we need a bit of help. Someone who can be on-call just in case something arises. You'll be in support of the Heavy Assault division and the Unconventional Tactics division when situations arise. I'm hoping we can do business together..."

Eri looks slightly annoyed. "So... I sit around, and do nothing, until you say something?"

"Unless of course, you have a problem with that," Roth said as he raised an eyebrow. "You ain't very patient, are you Eripse? That's good, but remember who you're talking to here. Understand?"
PostPosted: Fri Oct 06, 2006 1:28 pm

"I'm talking to the middleman to my payday. Nothing more. And yes, I'm impatient. ... Idle hands bring ill-consequence."

She fingers the shotgun and moves it again, shifting it to her hip. Yes, idle was a problem. She watches him with those fiesty eyes, not accepting him as a superior. He can instruct her, but he can't order her.

Well s**t- that was a problem. But whatever- she would be a perfect compliment to R.I.O.T. Ten. In any case, he would have to teach her a bit of respect later- that was, if she went through the first combat mission fully intact.

"Right then," he said without losing his composure. Just one mark in his book if she ******** up. "We'll try and get some intelligence from the one you brought in earlier. Or rather, almost brought in. That sort of negligence isn't taken lightly elsewhere, so it won't be taken lightly here. Since this is your first time here though, I'll let you off without deducting from your pay... but if you don't carry through and actually bring someone in, I'll do so faster than you can flap those wings of yours. Hear me on that?"

Eripse would actually laugh.

"Deduct from my pay?" A few snorting giggles would dribble here, prompting a soft hand to flit about her mouth, hiding it...

"What, give me only half of a bit of R&D? That's... an amusing concept."

This man either had little knowledge of her pay, or was talking about something else.

Eri worked to be a labrat, not to be a number in a bill-book.

"Whatever you say," he said with a stone-faced expresion. Okay, this was perhaps a bad idea. Then again, he was lucky that he had been trained to deal with these unruly types. "Right then- if you want to get some information, you should try and do so yourself- hell, bring it back to us. You bring back a decent enough piece of info about these guys and we'll do something to improve your... situation," he said with a smirk.

"Just make sure not to break anything... or anyone in the process unless you have to. You are only to fire when fired upon."

Eri debated quietly... "Mmm.. How will you guys... get in contact with me?" Her fingers carressed the leather-jacket she wore, mulling over an idea of how to waste some time.

Roth shrugged and said, "We've got contacts and informants here and there around the city. You'll know one when you see them... or rather, if you see them. In any event, let's make this little information gathering session your first official mission. Get us a fix on where they'll strike next and I'll possibly get you an upgrade or two.

"Anyone finds out what you're doing," he said sternly, "And I have no business with you." Which meant that if her mission was discovered or someone captured/killed her, all ties would be cut.

"Understand, miss?"

Eri didn't even respond, verbally. Turning towards the door she'd wave him off, walking out the door quietly. She debated this job... This man, who thought he could rein her in... Threaten her.. She'd huff, and walk the halls quietly like a dream, perfect memory putting her out the front door in a good minute or two.

"Whatever."

He sighed and leaned back in his chair.

Hn... why did you hire her, Sir? She has no tact and less respect for authority. I swear, if I hadn't been trained so well I'd have cussed her out and the job would have been over there. I'll give her one shot and if she fails, she goes back to you with my... personal notes on her behavior.
