becka blinked as she was distracted from feeding an ever increasingly sleepier Taikirth, the green didn't even bother much with talking right now, just leaned against her rider tiredly. She looked at the face of the girl that had been rude to her at the touching, it wasn't her fault that T'rel had made her agree to go to the touching, though if she'd have known she'd Impress, she might have not gone, but then Taikirth might have chosen someone else. There IS No one else for me growled the green sleepily. Her stomach almost finally full as she rested her head in Becka's lap. "Oh, i shouldn't really have been there so you were kind of right, it's fine i'm not mad or anything, no point" she said with a small smile, glancing at Taikirth as the green turned heavily lidded eyes on the girl that she'd shoved away mentally as an egg "I know the feeling sometimes, i've been told i'm too honest at times" she eyed the reddening white robes with minor alarm, most of the regular healers were busy with the casualties from the tiny blue's rampage. "I have a couple of things left over from patching Taikirth up so i can help, but once your dragon is fed and sated you should go to the Healers, if you've nicked a vein or anything you could be in trouble." she said before gently lifting Taikirth's head off her lap, the green promptly curled up, giving a shooting, dirty look at the injured girl before closing her eyes. Becka looked at Naressa's injury and it didn't seem TOO bad, the blood flow was slowing already. "Just need to clean it, that sand is awful at getting into everything, then i can get a better look" she said, though it was more of a question, she didn't want to do anything the girl didn't want her to. "Once it's clean i can give you some numbweed if it hurts then bandage you up" She smiled.

With every dragon Impressed Balchas' hopes for his sister Impressing from this clutch dwindled, he'd hoped the Bronze might be for him but no, he went to another, other dragons Impressed to neither he or Bacha. As much as he wanted to Impress himself, he wanted Bacha to Impress more.

Cai
Cai didn't pu Genith down until they reached the tables where the rest of the weyrlings congregated. He took a seat near Becka but still separate from the rest noting the attention the healer apprentice attracted. She had been allowed to Touch the eggs and as a result Impressed without having to go through the trouble of Candisacy. He wondered that theh didn't resent her? Well, they had Impressed as well. It was possible that the candidates left behind would resent her for stealing a hatchling. Possibly himself as well.
He also took notice if the bleeding weyrling even as he began to feed smsll scraps to Genith. The amount of blood was alarming considering how calm she appeared. To ave her robes soaked so she should be exhibiting more pain or distress. Especially that close to vital vessels. He waited to see Beckas reaction. She was still an apprentice after all. If she didn't do something proper than he would step in. Genith came first though.

The Ocean green made her way towards the boys. Hm. Where was hers? Hers was here, she knew he was! But where? She nosed past a few of the boys, snorting. No, those weren't hers. Where was hers? She glanced up towards Hyweth. Was hers really among these?

Balchas looked at the green that nosed him out of the way, for a second he'd thought perhaps she might want him but he'd been pushed aside "the girls, go to the girls he urged mentally, wanting Bacha to Impress especially if he didn't.

Bacha
Ooooooo! The green had headed over to the boys! The young girl crossed her fingers. Maybe this one was for her brother. She watched eagerly. Any dragon on the girl's side had been forgotten for the moment.

She was actually shocked that the girl had agreed with her actions upon the sands. That was odd, she had half expected the girl to be at least mad at her. Guess that solved that. She gave Becka a warm smile. "My mom was a healer so I know a thing or two but it's at such an awkward angle I won't be able to take care of it myself." She said gratefully accepting any help she was willing to give. She was aware there were far greater injured people around and she just needed the wound flushed and some numbweed and she'd be good to go. "You can feel free to poke and prode as needed." She said eyeing the green as it gave her a dirty look. Reciproth didn't seem to take to kindly to the greens glare because he watched her carefully after that. Who was she to judge HIS. He remained quite though and looked up at Becka with a hopeful glance. Would she take care of his? He was sure she would, she seemed honest enough not to try anything. "I'm Naressa by the way. It didn't seem fair that I knew your name and you didn't know mine."

Becka got on with cleaning Naressa up, in fact once the sand was out of the wound and it was clean the blood was only starting to ooze slightly, "Does it hurt much? I'd rather not use numbweed until you've seen a senior healer but i can use a little if it hurts too much" she said, preparing the padding and the bandage, the other girl was right, the angle was a bit awkward and definitely needed two hands. "Where does your mother heal at? I might have met her early in my training" she said brightly, making conversation.

Revel1984 I have to look at her character profile for the hold she's from lol "No, it doesn't hurt much. It's just uncomfortable more than anything." She said reassuringly. Where had her mother healed? "She heals at "hold name here"." She said with a warm smile. It would be a small world if she knew her. Reciproth nudged her gently now that she was bandaged pretty well and she looked over at Becka and laughed. "I best get him some food right quick, then perhaps we can converse some more." She said hoping the girl would be willing to talk some more.

"I'll hold off on the numbweed for now but as soon as your dragon is fed i'd get over to the senior healers" she said with a smile, looking at her now sleeping green, it was all a little bit much to take in, just a short time ago she'd been a Healer in training, almost ready to Walk the Tables, now she was a dragonrider unable to continue her craft, the pang of regret forced it's way into her stomach and she was glad Taikirth was asleep. She felt guilty for regretting the loss of her craft, perhaps she could attempt dragon healing, after all she'd patched Taikirth up well enough, though she would get the opinion of the Dragonhealer when Taikirth was awake again. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Balchas eyed his sister and caught her look and he had to withhold a chortle, it was as if they were thinking the same thing, he could tell. With the number of dragons on the sands dwindling his hopes were lessening but until the last one was hatched and Impressed he'd keep hope alive that they'd both find their bondmate in this hatching.

Sometime during all the excitement, the Bright Egg had begun to twitch. The movement was hardly noticeable, especially through the rain. Its movement remained slight for a few minutes, then it suddenly flopped over atop what remained of the Pale Egg. The twitching became a steady rocking, until the egg suddenly cracked and seemed almost to shatter at once.
A blue tumbled out, finding his footing with a great deal of stumbling and slopping in the wet sand. He took a moment to survey his surroundings, blinking and tilting his head in a curious manner. All of a sudden, it seemed he realized something and his body straightened, head lifting to look towards the candidates. Scrambling, he made a beeline for the male candidates, his eyes bright red though there was no aggression in his stance. He was impatient! There was someone he needed. Where were they?!

A blue? Jemi had hopes and bets that egg had been a brown. She sighed, running her hand through her short black hair. An rather impatient one at that. Jemi tilted her head, watching the blue run over the the boys and there was a green there to. Maybe Wen would impress? Or one of the others. The candidates were heavy on the female side at the moment.

Bacha
She saw her brother look up and catch her eyes. Nope, she wasn't embarrassed for staring avidly, hoping to catch his moment of Impression. Bacha giggled quietly and gave an encouraging wink to her brother. Her mouth formed an 'o' as another blue hatched and headed straight for the males.
Truthfully she was grateful. Almost all the dragons were picking girls this round it seemed. She watched, hoping the blue would stop by Balchas.

Demanthra
Demanthra was careful of the happy blue on the boy's side, while continuing to watch what was happening. She was surprised as the forest egg hatched and the brown hatchling went straight to their rider. She smiled at that, it seemed the dragon was quite a determined little thing. Then she saw a new blue emerge from one of the eggs and go straight to the boys. Hopefully another boy would be chosen to join this set of weyrlings. She still hoped for a dragon herself, but knew her chances were starting to dwindle with less eggs and dragons. Maybe she was not meant to be a rider like her older sister...no, she was meant to bond with one..she knew it. Even if it wasn't in this clutch, then hopefully one in the future.
Astriana
Astriana had been trying to take her mind off the big blue, knowing by his noises he was making, that he was sorry about hurting or upsetting anyone. She turned her attention back to the eggs in time to see a brown emerge from one of the eggs and pick his rider from among the other girls rather quickly. She was impressed how quickly he had chosen, when some of these dragons were definitely taking some time to find their's. She smiled on the inside, before looking over to where her twin brother should be. Would he be getting a dragon, there was a blue over there among them.

There were several hatchlings still roaming the sands and it seemed like one more had decided to join them. One of the few eggs that remained unhatched had finally decided the time had come. Mairin watched as a green egg with rather fanciful markings on it began to break. She got a quick glimpse of claws and feet but with the distance the rain she'd not been sure of the colour. Not blue or green, those stood out enough, but whether the dragonet was brown or bronze she wasn't quite sure.
It didn't take long for the answer to be revealed as moments later the hatchling emerged, head first this time, and was quickly out of his egg and moving towards the candidates. His hide was mostly the colour of dry sand with a darker and speckled topline. There was even a bit of rich brown masking his face and headknobs. The dragonet might not be showing off but he was rather pretty so far as Mairin was concerned.
So many in this clutch seemed to be catching her eye, be it in action or something a bit more shallow.
The young woman was trying not to focus to long on any one dragon but when the brown made it's way over to the girls Mairin watched it again carefully. He seemed pretty focused himself which was either a good thing or a bad one, depending on what exactly he wanted.
Then he was in front of her, plopping his hindquarters down on the sand and staring up into her eyes.
'No, MairinMine, my brother is not for you. Don't be sad, for I am your Vidarth, and, together there is nothing we can't do.'
The words seemed to echo in Mairin's head and for the first time in ages she was well and truly stunned. Where once there was just her now there was Them. For a second she just stared at Vidarth before sinking down onto her knees and wrapping her arms around the dragon. Well sort of anyways, Vidarth might not be the biggest brown hatchling ever but he was still rather large.
Vidarth was not quite sure what His was doing but that was okay. She seemed to need a moment, to make sure he was real, to apologize for something and for the many things swirling in her mind to settle. He could wait though, the brown hungered but Mairin was more important. She could squeeze him for now and when she was ready Vidarth would be right there beside her, because he would always be there now.
It took a couple of minutes but the pair eventually stood and made their way towards the feeding tables. There was a quiet sort of energy buzzing between them as they went to join their fellow weyrlings.
