Ratchet looked up when he heard a voice and turned to see Silvia. She looked as if she was in pain, poor girl. Setting the cup of coffee down, Ratchet had forgotten he was dress only in his pajama pants and labcoat. He had a slight athletic build for a scientist but he wasn't one to parade around showing his bare chest to every person of the opposite sex.

Finita would probably smack him if he did that, but Ratchet wasn't one to bring attention to himself. Walking over to her, he softly placed a hand to Silvia's forehead. "How are you feeling?" he asked softly and kindly. His eyes full of concern.

She wanted tea? That wasn't a problem, each kitchen, including this one, in the lab had every drink available. Softly taking her hand he led the woozy girl to one of the tables and sat her down. Closing the door he began to fumble around the shelves until he found the tea she wanted. Setting down a kettle he returned to where Silvia was, while they waited for the water to boil.

"Here, it's not much but maybe this will help a little." he said offering a plate of the vanilla wafer cookies. "I hope I haven't woken you up....I'm sorry." he softly stated to her leaning on the table.

She had pretty eyes, now that he got the chance to look at her face to face. "Before you ask, you're bunking with me tonight. You should have your lovely room by tomorrow. Sorry if mine's small." Ratchet stated relaxing a bit.

Quickly removing the pot, the whistling eventually faded. Mixing the tea for Silvia he couldn't help but feel sorry for her. It seemed that every time she used some of her powers she hurt herself.

Finita was even worried and mentioned her possibly even dieing? Ratchet would have none of that! He hardly knew the girl, but she was just as important as Cecelia and Finita!

Walking over with her tea he gently sat it in front of her. Dumping the coffee, he decided to have some tea with her. He only made one instant package, plus he had bought the stuff, so no one would care about the coffee. Lightly stirring the spoon around he let out a sigh.

"I was so worried about you. During your ritual and what happened with you when you read that book. You may have acquired tremendous powers..but don't over do it." he said grabbing one of the cookies. "You may have signed up to be a test subject, but that doesn't mean a thing. You are still a person, a living being, so if you need anything from either me or Finita don't hesitate. You know that Minotaur will bend over tenfold to keep you safe." he chuckled softly.

Falling silent a bit, he tried not to talk too much. Instead he let out a yawn. "Oh I should be in bed..." he lightly grumbled. "I just...can't sleep. Nightmares keep waking me up.." he stated quietly to her.

He blushed shyly. "Well honestly no. What would people think if they saw me sleeping with a teddy bear." he laughed quietly. "Not many people really care about me anyway, Finita really has been the only person that is my friend." he sighed resting his chin on his hand.

Taking another sip he wondered if it was alright to tell her? Maybe her all knowing powers could help him? With a sigh he began to stir his cup again. "Well..for about five months now I keep having the same nine nightmares every night. One each night, but the odd thing is they only happen once. They keep looping over and over again. Tonight, I was witnessing something, all of them are me witnessing something. It's usually blurred so I can't make pictures out really well." he paused taking another drink.

Leaning back he turned his full attention to her. "I think I was in a bamboo forest? Or something that looked like bamboo. It was peaceful and tranquil, then suddenly the blurry scene fades to one with splashes of yellow, red, and orange...then I hear screaming and think I see smoke? Of course the last scene scares me. Everything get's dark except for a pair of glowing golden eyes. They stare at me condescendingly before suddenly leaping forward revealing sharp fangs!" he shuddered just thinking about it.

"Each dream kind of is the same, only the ending has different pairs of eyes with the same result. Sometimes it's a pointed claw, sometimes it's a horn, sometimes it's a loud hiss, or a slap, or a glare. It chills my soul. I kind of think I'm just fatigued....but it all seems to real to be that." he sighs.

"Sorry Silvia, I didn't mean to drag you into my crazy sleep habits." he smiles looking up curious to see if she knew anything. Maybe he was just overworking himself?

"I know, what kind of heartless monster would do that? Wiping out an entire race? That's just cruel." he replied oddly feeling remorse. Why? Ratchet had been feeling a deep remorse after she had read the book. Not wanting to worry her anymore, he softly took one of her hands.

"Well..if you have a nightmare. I'm only just one bed away." he smiled kindly to her. "If ever you want to talk, just let me know. You might be a test subject, but you're also a friend. I mean it Silvia. If there ever is anything you need to get off your chest..then let me know." he said then shyly removed his hand blushing.

"S-Sooo....I guess you can change into your true fox form at any time? What's it like to have nine tails?" he asked out of curiosity. "Heck probably going from no tail, to suddenly having nine was crazy. From what I saw, you entered your ritual as a Human but came out a fox. You fur is actually quite impressive to. It's beautiful. Oh and that rice ball was delicious, you are truly a master at your craft." he stated quietly but with a smile.

Looking over at the clock they had been talking for a half-hour. Ratchet would go to bed soon, talking to Silvia oddly calmed him.

His heart began to beat faster as a deep blush draped over his face. Staring into her eyes he took her hand once again. "S-Sure we can...w-whatever you want that will make you feel safe." he said looking away. "A-After all I'm supposed to keep an eye on you, so you don't bleed anymore or anything."

When Ratchet watched her moved her tail, suddenly something dawned on him. "Oh! No wonder your race doesn't like their tails being pulled! It would be like yanking on someone's arm!" he stated with slight surprise. "Yeah if someone tried to yank on my arm..I would probably want to curse them too." he chuckled then fell into an awkward silence.

He was never good with this flirty stuff. "Are you feeling any better?" he asked smiling warmly. It seemed like her migraine had vanished.

He laughed. "Well I won't be pulling your tail, that's for sure. T-Though I might need to touch it and make sure it's connected and stuff when I do my check up." he blushed an even deeper shade of red. Man she was making him all sorts of embarrassed tonight!

"I-It's part of my job. Pretty much I'll be just giving check ups once a week to see if bones are still in place, ears, horns, tails, and various other mystical body parts are connected. It's my job to make sure you girls stay healthy and well." he smiled.

Ratchet hadn't noticed that they had locked fingers until now. Somehow, this oddly felt right. Smiling at her he slowly stood up. "Well...you want to try to sleep?" he asked shyly his green eyes staring into hers warmly.

His scent trail? Ratchet hadn't forgotten to take a shower again had he? Blushing he quietly led her out of the kitchen and down the dark halls, to the room they shared.

Closing the door he let go of her hand and took off his coat. "I'll clean up the mess in the kitchen tomorrow." he yawned climbing onto his bed. "S-So you're a CEO of a chocolate company huh? I bet people will be surprised when they see you this way. N-Not that there is anything wrong. Your ears and tail are cute." he said sitting up and staring at her for a moment.

"Plus your fox form is adorable. I kind of wanted to cuddle you when I first saw you, but figured that wouldn't be the right thing to do at that moment. I'm an animal lover actually....and oddly foxes happen to be one of my favorites." he stated rubbing the back of his head. "Sheesh, listen to me. It's like I'm making one of those cheesy dating videos! Yes girls..I love foxes, and long walks on the beach.." he laughed sarcastically poking at himself a bit, just for fun.
