Vana cheerfully followed Fifi and the stranger as they wandered off somewhere. Her eyes widened and she broke out into a giant grin seeing the air ship. "Ooooo Thats so cool!" She bounced excitedly, she couldn't wait to get on the ship and explore it and the desert!

Dido continued to ignore the Joltik. She thought it quite a rude little Pokémon, throwing sparks at a lady like that.

Eros spared only a distracted “Hm,” for the older girl as his own attention was caught by the strange man walking away and most of the crowd following him. If there had been many fewer people, he might not have gone along. But in such a large crowd, there was next no chance that the mysterious fellow could hurt him. Those close behind the stranger were taking their lives in their own hands. At least they’d be useful as coal-mine canaries: If anything untoward happened to them, Eros could always turn tail and run.

“I’m going to….” Eros began to the older girl, but his sentence trailed off into a vague gesture in the direction of the advancing crowd as he began walking the same way.

The boy trotted cautiously along at the far edge of the crowd, his hands still firmly attached to his satchel. Dido sat up on Eros’s shoulder, her ears and whiskers pricked forward as if she could sense that something interesting was up ahead. Her human saw what it was when he rounded the corner to see the airship.

“Oh... oh my.” Eros had been fantasizing about the elegance of a hot-air balloon ride, but this was even better. An antique skyborne vessel straight out of a storybook. Flittering momentarily through the boy’s mind was a concern about how functional said antique vessel might be, but it was quickly chased off by romantic sighs.

Even Dido allowed herself an intrigued mew, kneading her lovestruck human’s shoulder.

Lilli ran around her owner's legs, circling and circling, until she got very dizzy. She eyed the now double airship and gave it a suspicious glare. She chirped up at her trainer, but he ignore it for trying to figure out what was going. While Lilli was suspicious, Gepardo was confuse. If they were traveling by airship, why had it been advertised as balloons? An airship would be more popular, even if didn't seem they would be paying much, it would had brought people of higher class.

He took a cue for his pokemon and became a bit suspicious, deciding to keep an eye on everything.

The crowd had more or less found their way to the balloon, either from their curiosity or from overhearing their companion's excited gasps. The elderly man disappeared, presumed to have already boarded.

The ship itself resembled a pirate ship. It wasn't huge and didn't allow for any personal space while on board, but the balloons required to create enough lift for it to rise into the air was massive, held in place by numerous ropes. There were what looked like bat wings made out of wood and attached at various positions on the ship and balloons. They were used to steer the airship manually and connected by ropes to areas on the deck where they could be easily reached. The largest main balloon had multiple small rotors on the sides and there was a giant rotor at the rear of the ship used for flight.

Collectively, the company agreed to board the ship. They were doubtful that the wing could hold their weight, but it was docked in such a position that this was the easiest way onto the deck, unless they had flying pokemon. The only other method was to find a separate boat to cross the water and then somehow climb up the side on one of the ropes. With young children, elders, and people of varying fitness levels, this idea was quickly dropped.

They cautiously tested the wing to make sure it would hold their weight before proceeding. There was also no hand holds, so a slip at this point could be detrimental. The wing proved to be quite steady, from whatever material it was created from.

Upon closer look of the airship, one could see there was pokemon aboard. They were running the ship: fire pokemon, supplying fire from various openings to the balloon; flying pokemon swooping about, pulling on ropes and pulleys; and larger pokemon pushing supplies about on the deck.

Once you had stepped foot on the deck, a Machamp offers to take your belongings to a storage cabin below deck. It would be a shared space, but indoors, mainly so nothing will fly away if the winds pick up. You had never seen one of those pokemon in Zatao, but then again, this ship probably gets to travel all around the world and gets to see everything.

There was the captain's cabin directly on the deck and also a staircase leading from the deck to the area below. Everywhere below deck was dimly lit by hanging candle lanterns. Hallways were narrow and could barely fit two bodies shoulder to shoulder. The ship was made entirely out of wood and embellished in parts with metal.

The dining area consisted of two long wooden tables. Shelves of food for preparation lined the walls, making the place seem smaller. A doorway led to the kitchen, where pokemon could be seen preparing the day's meal.

There was a few shabby resting cabins containing only bunk beds and a small nightstand. Bathrooms were shared. One cabin, in particular, was obviously meant for someone of high importance, as it carpeted, wallpapered, and had cozy armchairs as well as bunk beds. The room also had its own bathroom.





An airship very much resembled, well, a ship.

Michelle had stopped to stare in awe at the ship when they first arrived so hadn't made any move to interact with anyone in the large group. When people started to move to the ship she followed with a grin on her face. He brothers were going to be so sorry they missed out on this! Well, not Xander probably. It wasn't long before she was on the ship and had to restrain herself from getting in the pokemon crews way by studying them.

When Remy let out a meow she looked at her shoulder companion to see him looking at a flying pokemon with his tail twitching. "No Rems, no chasing the other pokemon." She grabbed him before he could launch his self off her shoulders then looked at the pokemon's trainer with a smile. "Hello! What kind of pokemon is that?" She asked, having not seen a Vibrava yet.

Remmy look around at his friends as he walk onto the ship. He felt safe with them and look around. He look up at Cara and Zak and said "They said on ship there end food and ice cream! I WANT ICE CREAM!" He ran around them chreeing "Ice cream! Ice cream! Hoo Hoo Ha Ha!"

Squeek was on top of his head yap away with Remmy about the ice cream.

Eros crept carefully over the wing, Dido clutched tightly to his chest. His satchel dangled free for the moment, but he gathered it up again once they reached the deck - especially after a too-helpful Machamp attempted to relieve him of it.

Eros looked around, wondering where its trainer was, but then realized that there were no humans on the ship at all, besides the group he’d arrived with. The entire ship seemed to be run by Pokémon. That made him nervous - the humans would be completely unable to communicate with the ship’s crew, and at the mercy of a horde of Pokémon of dubious domestication. Their own Pokémon could speak to the crew, perhaps, but the humans themselves would always be in the dark.

The boy was on the verge of turning on his heel to cross back across the wing and head right home, but Dido leapt from his arms and stalked across the deck as if she owned it. After a short, chirping exchange with the Machamp, she returned to rub against Eros’s legs before heading down the stairs and below decks.

“Dido?” Eros called nervously after her.

She answered with a reassuring, but quickly receding, “Skitty!”, and he had no choice but to follow. The Pokémon might have to take the lead on this voyage.

Eros had wondered if the lack of a proper gangplank bode ill for the interior facilities, and it seemed he was right. Most of the rooms were shabby and spartan, probably designed for common sailors. However.... The boy sighed in relief when he came to the well-appointed cabin. Wallpaper, upholstery, a private bathroom. A perfect home base for the fantasy voyage he’d envisioned when he’d first seen the ship. This was clearly the berth meant for him, and perhaps one or two others who merited it.

Without a second thought, Eros perched on an armchair. Dido jumped up to settle herself primly on one of his knees and began to wash her whiskers.

"She's very adorable." Michelle said with a smile while looking at Spirit. So this was what a Vibrava looked like huh? "How long have you had Spirit?" She asked just before Cara's attention was stolen away by the bouncy kid. The teen muffled a giggle at his and his pokemon's antics. "Ice cream does sound good."

Remy watched the other pokemon with a purr and a twitch of his tail.
