Pan wiped his eyes and made sure that no more fearful tears could be seen anymore. "Oh.. Uhh It's okay. My burn isn't too bad... it'll heal on its own" he stated as he opened and closed his palm. He winced a bit but it didn't hurt too bad anymore. Pan grew quiet as he wanted to return to the task at hand. Once Pan started something, he needed to finish it. He picked up the wrench and began using his other hand to grasp it. Apparently Pan was ambidextrous.. who knew. But then.. another ugly question reared up in Pan's mind that he hoped Carpo would answer yes to.. "Carpo... do you love Alpha?" he asked. Deep down, he felt like he already knew the answer.. but then again, Pan barely realizes what love is.
Alpha smiled at Rene's honesty but almost lost it when he added in more praise. "Heheh.... yeah.. but lately... I've been really pondering something... " he started, beginning to slice the potatoes. "I've really been debating if we should let Pan stay..." he admitted with a bit of a pained expression.

Blinking in surprise for a moment, he just stared before shaking his head and chuckle. "Nah. We're just friends. He like an older brother to me or something. Why did he say something to you," he asked, brows furrowing and nose crinkling as he looked at him curiously.
"Mmm. Well, he's not really doing any harm, he's seems nice enough and he has a doctor's license. Ah me and him went to vatch ze sunzet zis morning. We talked and he was very kind. I zink he just needs to be taught how zis place works. Maybe from Carpo? Zey seem close?"

Pan was surprised at his answer. He thought for sure that Carpo must've had some more feelings than that for Alpha. "Well it's just-...... " Pan was going to keep going but then he tried understanding Alpha's point of view. Perhaps he's just waiting for Carpo to accept his feelings. What was this new world like? As much as Pan hated to admit.. he sort of missed his old home. But missing it would get him no where and he really wasn't ready to go back. He did like this new place with Carpo. He'd prefer to stay there as long as he was welcome. Or as long as his heart could hold out with his feelings.
"No Nevermind..." Pan said in a bit of a sad tone. Alpha must have.."claimed" Carpo already. It made Pan felt bad to think that...
The aura around them had grown cold and sad now. Pan needed to stop thinking about these things. He was glad to have Carpo in his life... and that was all he needed.
he smiled. But soon the smile faded as Alpha nodded and sighed. "Anyway, Yes he seems nice. But we've been betrayed before..." he retorted. "And that's the worst part about it all, Carpo and him being so close... IF Pan does anything to us, It could be devastating for Carpo. You know he has such a scary heart condition..." he added. "Pan grew up there and was content in that place... I just... I just don't know.." he said, handing the cut potatoes to Rene in a bowl. ".... but you understand my position, don't you?.... Carpo doesn't seem to understand... So damn stubborn with some silly promise he made.." he groaned in annoyance, leaning on the chef. " How do I make him understand??" he asked, sort of giggling that he was leaning on Rene.

Tilting his head as he waited for Pan to respond, he frowned as instead the other started, just to say nevermind. He didn't like that.. He wouldn't have shown that sort of hesitation unless Alpha had said something to him, warning him or something. He wanted to protest, to push, but fear stopped him, so instead he stayed quiet about it. He then proceeded to screw in one last bolt before stepping back. "Alright. All done. Now let's check on food now hm?"

"Yes, of course I understand and it is your job to be wary even if the rest of us are calm," he said, blushing slightly as he felt the man lean against him," anyways, I umm...well, if I were you I'd tell him what you told me, like exactly what you just said... He won't like it, but if you tell him everything, including the worry for his heart.. he'll have to listen.."

Pan felt awful. This whole moment of them spending time together had turned so awkward and weird for the both of them. Smiling to Carpo with a painfully fake grin. "I'm glad I could help... but.." Pan paused as the two started to head out the door, "I.. I'm not hungry right now Carpo.. Wh-Why don't you go on ahead?" he asked sheepishly.
Alpha nodded and smiled, "Ya know, you're right.." he said with a bit of determination. "But.. do you really think he'll listen?" he asked as he reached over to snag a piece of food before Rene had served it.

"Ah.. oh umm okay, just don't wander too far okay," Carpo said with a bit of a worried expression. Normally he'd insist he stay, but right now.. he needed to talk to Alpha. Turning into the kitchen, he opened his mouth to ask Rene of his location just to stopped as he spotted Alpha, sitting on the counter.
"I'm sure he would. You worry too much," Rene said with a chuckle before smacking the other's hand away. He then proceeded to look up just to spot Carpo. "Oh. Hello. Dinners almost ready. Just one-"
"Alpha can we talk for a moment?"

Pan smiled and nodded, obeying Carpo's order. He wasn't going to go very far. In fact, Pan just went back to Carpo's room, to simply flop on the bed and contemplate just what was wrong with him. He hasn't known Carpo very long and already he's having striking feelings about never wanting to leave the red head's side. Feelings of fear and anguish if anything were to happen to him. There was no denying it, Pan was in love with Carpo. He admired the man's ways and cleverness, how resourceful he could be and just how strong he really was. But back home... Pan wasn't allowed to love.. and Carpo's feelings didn't really seem mutual. Growing up where he grew up, made Pan all the less wiser about such feelings, not understanding that feelings like this take time to grow. Pan didn't realize that Carpo could grow feelings, be it for Pan or....Alpha.
That's right, Alpha definitely has some sort of claim over Carpo... he gets so territorial every time Pan and Carpo are together. It's odd that Pan didn't understand love, yet he figured out jealousy pretty well. Because Pan was jealous too! He was jealous that Alpha would make such claim on Carpo like that, his own friend! That just didn't seem right to Pan. To claim another human like that... Pan wanted Carpo as his friend too.... Pan groaned to himself, thinking that all this thinking was so childish. Alpha was the leader for a reason, and Pan didn't want to be rude and go against Alpha. So, Pan would merely accept his unrequited love, as long as he got to be around Carpo... even if it was just for a little while longer. Pipkin hopped up on Pan's chest and Pan giggled and crinkled his nose as the little bunny twitched their noses together, petting the little toy bunny.
Alpha hissed but laughed as his hand was swatted away. Then he turned to see Carpo standing there, "Hey, Hey! Perfect timing, I just wanted to-" Alpha was saying until Carpo beat him to it. He seemed adamant but nothing too serious. Still, usually when Carpo wanted to talk to Alpha in private, it was of something worth his attention. "y-yeah... We'll be right back, Rene.." he told the chef and walked into the hall with Carpo. "Is something wrong?" Alpha asked when the two were finally alone.

Pausing for a moment, Carpo scratched the back of his head. He had been so focused on getting here that he didn't realize how crazy this sounded until they were finally both alone. He still wanted to ask, just to make sure, but really he couldn't fathom anything but Alpha laughing and teasing him a bit.. But then again... "Well, me and Pan were talking in the engine room and he said that you probably wouldn't like him down there alone with me. I.. did you say something to him," he asked a soft frown on his features," it's just he made it sound like.." [[ahh mine always looks so short compared to yours T^T also -huggsss-- ]]

[mah~ it's okay, I don't mind as long as we get through to the story] Alpha sighed and did ignore the fact that Pan and Carpo were down there alone, but then pinched his nose when he wanted to make his statement. "Look, Carpo, that's something I really wanted to talk you about. I think you shouldn't spend so much time with Pan... " he proclaimed. Alpha did have some feelings for Carpo, but they weren't as strong as Pan's. Alpha liked to tease Carpo and he cared enough about him that he just didn't want to see him get hurt. " We hardly know him and for all we know, he could end up being some spy! We've been betrayed before....look, Alls I've told Pan is that he should learn his place here. No one, not even you, should trust him with a background like his... Carpo I'm just trying to protect you" he added. He was taking Rene's advice and was hoping that Carpo would comply. "What did Pan say about me?" He asked with a hit annoyed curiosity in his voice. He was sort of more annoyed at the fact that they were talking about him behind his back.

"He said you wouldn't like me down there with him, then nothing else," he said with a deepening frown as he looked up to him," and I mean. I get that you don't trust him. Really I do, but well.. what bothers me is that you don't trust /me/. Don't you think I would know he was about to do something bad to me? That I could protect myself if he tried..? I just.." Carpo sighed, closing his eyes for a moment as he tried to calm himself. He then proceeded to look back up, the frown still tugging at his lips.. "I'm not a weak child anymore Alpha... I can hold my own in a fight and make decisions.. I just.. why don't you trust me?"

Alpha raised his eyebrows and couldn't look Carpo in the eyes. Why didn't Alpha trust him... that was a very good question. "Well..i-its just... No... Carpo I do trust you, It's just that, you've never done this before...bringing back someone like him... " Alpha couldn't really hold back anymore, " You baby him and protect him like he's so important.... You're spending so much time with him.." Alpha's face was reddening. "Why do you trust Pan so much?"

"Well, he saved me Alpha.. He wouldn't save my life if he wasn't a good guy. Not to mention.. well... his lover died before he arrived here. He was in the prison because rather than the government take the fall... they blamed him. They sent him there with the brainwashed idea that because he tried to save him, he had caused his death and...," he said before sighing and looking up to him," a bad guy doesn't do those things. To us.. it might seem like he belonged there... that he was happy, but he didn't. He has so much emotion. Hope, grief, courage. He's not a puppet.. He's.. he's special.."

"Not that sorry story again, Carpo!" Alpha snapped back, Rene probably able to hear his voice. Clenching his fist he paused and took deep breaths. "I..I'm sorry.. It's just that, we've saved hundreds of people, and they've helped,and/or, saved us... Why is he so special?!... Do you have feelings for him?" he asked, an envious red tint appearing on his face. Unable to wait for Carpo's response, he chimed in, "Look... I do trust you, I do... but I don't trust him... Even if he is a doctor... but remember, we've been betrayed before in the past. So just because he looks nice and acts doesn't mean he's trustworthy. Carpo, as much as I trust your judgment, I can allow him to stay if you stop babying him, he can eat with you and see his patients, but he's gonna have to be treated like a man here... So leave him alone for awhile..." he demanded in a stern but quiet tone.

Frowning, the redhead shook his head and glared. He was not satisfied with that, not liking being scolded like this. He was just doing what was right. After all Pan had gone through. He deserved to be treated a bit nicely. "I'm not babying him. I'm being friendly. I'm trying to help him get accustomed to living here. This is his home now. Just like it's yours and mine! If anything, you are babying me! Questioning my judgement, telling me what to do, worrying over me for stupid reasons. Why can't I be nice to him and make him feel at home? Why can't I help him learn how to do things to help? Huh? Are you really scared of him, or are you scared of something else? You keep asking me the same question over and over again and are never satisfied with the answer. You won't accept it!" He was pretty mad now, his voice raising as his fists clenched. He knew this was childish, that he was ruining the point, but d@mnit... "What do you want from me? Do you want me to say something else?"
