Adelaide was in the middle of saying something to one of the crew members when she heard Tahlia. "Liiiia~! M' favorite person!" She giggled and looked at her hand. "Jus a few? But I'm winnin'!" She giggled again and played her hand out, head fuzzy. She pouted a bit when she was told that she couldn't drink anymore. "You... you ain't m' mom.." Only alcohol seemed to make Adelaide's speech not up to it's normal literate standards. "An it makes tha pain go away." She looked a little sad, but then laughed as she won the next hand. "I win! Woohoo!"

Tahlia blinked a bit at the exuberance Ela displayed, alarmed to find that Adrian hadn't been exaggerating at all. "Yes, just a few. You have to let someone else have a chance to play." Her pout was adorable, but the stench of alcohol coming from the cards and- just a little- from Adelaide was not. "No, I'm not, but-" At the comment about it making the pain go away, Tahlia sighed and shook her head. "Until you go and spew up half your insides over the side of the ship." But there was no convincing her.

Adelaide won another hand and then stood up, placing the winning hand on the table. Then she pulled Tahlia up and swung her around. "Daaaaance wiff me Lia~" She giggled again, as if forgetting that she had been crying hours before. Man was she going to have a killer hangover.

Tahlia shook her head a little bit when Adelaide played her next hand, amazed at her luck, but then she was being hauled up and Tahlia's mouth just dropped open. "Ela it's too crowded for- oof!" Tahlia, being swung around, got spun right onto the lap of one of the pirates sitting near them. "Oh. Heh. I'm sorry." She moved to stand up, shooting a desperate look of, 'oh please calm down before you get us in some sort of trouble' to Ela.

Adrain had been watching for a few minutes, when Adelaide decided that she wanted to dance, and held Tahlia stumbling around likely to crash into things. Someone was going to get hurt. "Alright now, thats enough." He said stepping in between Tahlia and Adelaide, holding Adelaides shoulders. "Adelaide, I'm sure you're enjoying yourself, but I think you could use some fresh air." He then looked to Tahlia and whispered, "Help me make sure she doesn't walk overboard."

Adelaide blinked as Adrian grabbed her shoulders and she glanced down. "Air? It's kinda stuffy n here anyways." She looked up at Adrian again, and looked perplexed, before pulling away from him. "Why you bein' nice allova sudden?" She then looked at Tahlia and frowned.

Tahlia rested her hand on Adelaide's elbow, grateful for Adrian's timely rescue. "He's always been nice, Ela, it's just hard for you to tell when you're too busy being bossy." She was alluding to Adelaide's first few moments on the ship, as odd as they'd been. Tahlia helped Adrian guide her up to the deck.

"I'm a nice guy, Adelaide." He said as he guided them above deck. "There we go. Fresh air." He said looking to Adelaide, "And are you hungry? Or maybe want a drink of water?" He asked, trying to think of anything that might ease the inevitable hangover.

Adelaide let them help her up to the deck and scrunched her face up. "I 'idn't mean ta be bossy, I was tryin' to protect ya is all." She took in a deep breath, happy at the fresh air. Then Adrian asked her if she were hungry or thirsty and she un-scrunched her face to look up, thinking. "Ah. Imma bit thirsty.."

Tahlia shook her head at her, before smiling and patting her hair. "I know." When she mentioned being thirsty, Tahlia nodded, moving away. "I'll go get her some water." She headed below deck, after all, Tahlia couldn't hold Adelaide up on her own, and Adrian could. Only, as she approached the hold, Tahlia heard the crew's voices, and she paused at what they had to say.
"Damn, but I didn't expect her to be such a drunkard."
"And a damn fool."
Tahlia's hand clenched into fists, and she stormed in there, madder than hell. She could not, would not stand by while someone, anyone badmouthed her friend. It was not in her blood, it was unthinkable.
"Hey!" She stormed over to the two who she'd directly overheard talking. "You better sit down and shut up when it comes to Ela! She is my best friend, a remarkable individual, and I won't have her badmouthed! Not even by pirates!" She barely restrained herself from jabbingn the pirate in the chest, but she was vibrating with fury, "I may be tiny, but I can fight, and if any of you badmouth her ever again I'll- I'll-" To frustrated to even articulate words anymore, Tahlia just stomped her foot and accompanied it with a loud, vehemotely said curse word, before storming off, getting the water for Ela, and stomping back up to the deck, barely calm when she reached them.

"Tahlia...." Adrian said keeping calm, "You're voice carries. And I'd appreciate you not threatening my crew again. I don't know what that was about. But you should know better then to threaten pirates, while aboard their ship, out at sea." He said, his voice steady, "I just don't want you two bringing undue danger to yourselves, or me, while on board my ship."

Tahlia raised her eyes to him, the gray for some odd reason lightened to resemble hard steel. "My father taught me a fistfight isn't a threat, it's a promise. And a bloodied face or broken hand is more than worth defending my friends." She closed her eyes, took a calming breath, and then another, before shaking it off. "But you're right. I'll try to keep a level head next time. I got Ela's water."

Adelaide looked at the water and took it. "What was tha yellin' about?" She sipped on it, and looked at Adrian. "Imma sorry. Im always causin troubles for e'ryone."

"You and Adelaide here, keep threatening my crew, and I'm likely to have a mutiny on my hands. I know there are a few in my crew who don't like me, but I couldn't find anyone to replace them yet." He said softly. "So please, just keep calm. I'll discipline the crew, alright?" He said nodding to Tahlia, "Get her to drink that."

Tahlia nodded, shoving her hair- part way escaped from her braid- out of her face. "Alright, alright. I'm sorry. Won't happen again." Tahlia took a deep breath, before focusing on Adelaide. "Don't worry Ela, it's not your fault." She stepped closer. "Keep sipping at that, okay?" Tahlia glanced back over at Adrian, feeling guilty now. "I'm sorry," She gave a humorless chuckle. "Guess the temper Laith spoke of came back."
