What. Was. Even. Happening.
Her heart stopped around the moment he'd said the word blunt, because she knew what was coming. Her hands flew into the air, trying to stop him before the words came out of his mouth, but she had no chance. He just.. said them. Asked her, like it was just a normal question. Say, Freya, what do you want for lunch? Who's your favorite band? By the way, will you marry me?
And yet, she knew the words weren't a normal question from him at all. She knew he was serious, and that was what scared her the most.
"Kajika." Her voice whispered out in a hiss. "Yeh can't just asks me like that." They were so young, so new, so blind in their love. He had no idea.. "That's not.. not how this works!"

"I just did." He said simply even after her hands flew to try and stop him. He wasn't going to take them back either. So what if they had fought a few moments before. So what if they were young?
Kettil didn't care. Look at all the ******** he gave right now. He knew what he wanted and she was right there next to him trying to tell him he couldn't ask like that and how it didn't work that way. He smirked at her simply and shifted a shoulder, "I'm going to make you my bride one way or another and that's the best way to do it."

...Well now, Kettil was starting to sound like a viking. Her father would have been proud.
She was not.
"Actually," Freya's eyes slit imperceptibly. "The best ways teh asks a ghoul like me teh marry yeh, is whatever way gets a yes as an answer, wouldn't yeh think?" She was looking at him very, very carefully, possibly with a challenge in her eyes. Freya was about to turn the boil down flat, if he wasn't careful - because she liked to be woo'd.
Hard.

"If you want to throw a challenge at me then do it. I'll do whatever you want me to," he said simply. His eyes were pretty much saying bring it.
Kettil shifted a bit, pulling away from her to sit up because he was about to get super serious with her now, "If you want me to climb the highest tree in my hometown? I'll do it. Want me to pick a rare flower from some cliff in Halloween, I'll do that too. It doesn't matter because I'll do it because I love you and I want to prove to you how serious I am about this."

Kettil was just getting so serious and how did this even happen - Freya's mind was ready to blow.
She stared at him, open mouthed, and and then her hands flailed in the air, while an odd little sound keened out of her. She didn't know what to do, or say, or even if she was handling this moment right, or if Kettil was handling it right - she was going nuts with confusion and excitement.
And yet, the offer was so tempting. He wanted to prove himself to her. Gods, how she wanted to give him a challenge to overcome for the honor of -NO, she smacked her forehead to stop her over-active imagination from taking over. That wasn't right! This wasn't some epic love story that demanded an over-achieving prince and a damsel in distress! She was NO damsel!
"Ach, ach, ach, Hooter, screechie, I know yehr dead serious about this, I really do, but I just thinks yehr makings a mistake. The only thing I really wants yeh teh do is thinks about what yehr sayings here." Well, that was not entirely true. She sort of wanted him to get down on one knee and pull out a ring - NO, she chastised herself again. She had to stop getting caught up in the moment. She had to stop.. wanting this.

His answer was to get up and start pacing suddenly. He felt worked up and nervous but not in a bad way. He'd pause his pacing and go through a random drawer in his room or just simply stare down at the luggage they'd brought. He had no ring. No way to propose to her to make it more legit or anything. He had nothing but Kettil refused to admit to defeat.
Suddenly he looked up at her, "I don't see how this is a mistake."
"I don't see how wanting to be with you for the rest of my life would be a mistake for me. I don't see how it would be a bad thing." Kettil continued on.
Then there was a thought that bordered on painful, "Unless y'mean to say you'd ever regret bein' with me."

".. What are yeh doing?" She watched him pace, and stop, and search, and wondered if she'd driven him mad. But when he stopped, and she saw the sudden hurt in his eyes, she listened carefully to what he was asking-
"NO." The answer came a little too suddenly, a little too adamantly. She put her hand on her mouth, simply because it had been so loud, she was almost embarrassed about it. "I means, of course not." She mumbled through her fingers, until she finally dropped her hand. "I already told yeh. If yeh wanted me, as yehr.." She hesitated to say it, so she hedged away. "Yeh knows. I would be the lucky one. But we're just.. I mean.. it's only been.. Hooter." How could he be so sure of himself? She wanted his courage. She wanted his conviction. She wanted..
She wanted Kettil.
That thought shut her up, sure enough.

Her question was pretty much ignored as he was distracted at the time. He was probably trying to get his thoughts in order without suddenly abandoning her during a very important conversation between them.
Kettil's hurt look faded after the rather loud and adamant 'no'. He relaxed a bit and brushed a hand through a bit of his hair and grunted a bit, "I don't care that it's only been a couple of months. I just don't. I'm positive about this. I'm positive about us. We argued a couple of times, yeah? We work it through. You get hurt I always run to help you. I always think of how I can heal you and ..."
Should he be more afraid of commitment? Should he be more cautious?
Kettil wasn't sure what he was doing anymore.

Freya was still adamantly against rushing into an answer. That is why, when he barraged her with logistics that made her want to give in, she turned a bright red, held her breath, and immediately slammed her face into his pillow to muffle the giggles that escaped.
This wasn't really happening.

He stared at her. Had he just logic'd her into hysteria?
Kettil sort of slumped a bit where he stood and let out a bit of a sigh. He wasn't sure what to say to the fact that she was giggling.

Freya lifted her head off of the pillow, stared at him, and then as soon as the grin started to climb up onto her face again, she smashed it against the pillow and returned to giggling.
This wasn't getting any better.

He sort of walked over to the bed and flopped onto it.
"Why are you giggling?" He asked quietly.

His question made her head rise, and her flushed red face greeted him with a goofy grin. "Because.. because yehr.. yeh knows."
She couldn't say it. She didn't know why she couldn't say it - perhaps saying it made it a little too real. She liked how unreal the moment felt; as if she might be dreaming. She wasn't ready to wake up, just yet.
She turned onto her side, and grinned up at him, her expression pinched with glee. "Have yeh figured out how teh does it right, yet?"
..That sounded suspiciously like she'd given up the fight.

He sort of mirrored her grinning with a pout, "It isn't that I haven't figured out how. I just don't have what I need. I mean I didn't really take you here with the intention to have this happen the way it did..."
Kettil wondered why he always did things on the fly but he always meant whatever he did whole heartedly.

"See?" She giggled, her arms opening up for him to come into. "I tolds yeh that yeh should waits until yehr ready!"
For once, she had a point.
