"Well, s**t".
Was all daemonslayer James Eredas could utter as he observed the explosion of the GTB HQ.
He had to admit, it was gettin' tiring, with explosions here, a rebellion there, secret plots to murder and take over the world in every dark nook and cranny. Just for once, he'd like some peace and quiet.
But no, if he headed to someplace like, say, Acapulco, there'd probably be an attack by multiple giant crab monsters on that same day. Son of a b***h.
The daemonslayer hadn't bothered to show up to the infirmary after his match, and was just now only heading to check into his hotel room. The man had been busy with his own work after all, tying up a few last loose ends from his last mission when this occured.
"Looks like GTB's going to be more interesting then I expected"

Hath drove himself back to the hotel. His most painful injury was the burn on his right hand, considering how often he used it. Bandages it along with the burn on his thigh and the bite on his shoulder. "You should have destroyed her before time ran out." The voice came through a wireless headset he wore, he spoke to reply. "She had potential. As an ally, not a threat." "I'll be the one to tell you who has potential." Click!
As he pulled into the hotel parking lot, a valet took his car and he made his way through the entrance, through the lobby. Hath looked at the fancy decor. For such a cheap hotel, it sure seemed authentic. BOOM! What was that? It came from upstairs. Hath ran for the elevator and pressed the button. The doors slowly would close and he would make his way up. As the explosion came from the GTBHQ, a helicopter had also crashed on the roof of the hotel, it's wreckage a flaming black mess with no visible bodies.

Robyn trudged up the stairs to her room, stretching and rolling her shoulders, trying to loosen them up. Her legs were mildly sore as well, but she still took the stairs rather than the elevator. The demon's need for freedom had imparted a mild claustrophobia on the young woman, and while she could ignore it with concentration, she didn't feel it was worth the effort when she was more than capable of taking the stairs.
Once at her room, she immediately flopped onto the bed, tossing her hat to the side and nursing her head. Selene might have had no problem practically running headfirst into a force field thingy, but it'd left Robyn with a massive headache.
The fox girl chose not to deride the demon for it, though, since she'd allowed the switch back with no fight (although there was a bit of grumbling). It was...kind of nice, being on good terms with the demon. No more pounding on mental walls to be let out when she lost control. No more sobbing over the actions her body was taking without her.
It was too bad she hadn't gotten to do that much during the fight. Why did the time-up always have to hit just when the fight was getting good? Just bad luck, she guessed. At least she'd only come away with bruises, which would be gone after a good night's sleep. Sleep which sounded excellent right now, she thought, closing her eyes and starting to drift off, still in her dirty and scuffed outfit. Her ears twitched at the distant sound of explosions, but it was simply background noise to the tired girl.

Leaning against the side of the elevator as it made it's way up, Hath looked at his dim reflection on the metal. Several bangs fell over his forehead and his clothes were a bit of a mess. Reaching the 13 floor, he got out of the elevator and made his way down the hall. Taking his tinted glasses from the collar of his shirt, he kicked and shattered the door to one of the rooms and ran inside. He was lucky, there was no one inside. Opening one of the windows, he climbed out of it and onto the side of the building. With resourceful hands, he would begin to climb up the two floors and make his way to the roof undetected.

Strangely, all the suited men who had attacked, dead or not, had completely vanished. No movements or anything happened to catch it. The knocked out employees and security were slowly coming to again, a lot of them being tucked away into closest and out of view places.

There was an envelope with a fire seal waiting for James on the desk of his room. If he opened it, it would read: "The fire rises."The envelope proceeded to burn up immediately in his hands, disappearing into little pieces of ashy paper.

As he climbed up the building, Hath could see into the windows.
Employees getting beating down and stashed in places. It seemed that he had gotten outside at the right time. Whatever was going on, he did not want to be caught in the middle of it.

As the explosion shook the hotel, Aveline gets up from the bed to check ut her window, and sees the fire and smoke at the HQ building, and immediately thinks of the possibility of a bomb being in this building as well. Why a bomb? because there is only fire on one side of the building whereas a plane would have gone straight through, like the 747s when they hit World Trade Center One and Two. Of course, Aveline had no experience in explosives at all, but she knows somebody who does...
...somebody that just rolled into the infirmary.
Aveline gathers all of the firepower she can, then quickly makes her way to the closest emergency staircase, then down.

Vintrict There was an envelope with a fire seal waiting for James on the desk of his room. If he opened it, it would read: "The fire rises."The envelope proceeded to burn up immediately in his hands, disappearing into little pieces of ashy paper. The burning up bit was a nice touch.
Good way to start off his day, all friendly and ominous-like. Unless everybody got one of these things in their rooms, it seemed like he was being specifically targeted this GTB for reasons James could only guess at.
Regardless, if somebody wanted to blindside him, it was best not to have done somethin' like that. Normally, the daemonslayer would be busy trying to find out what that explosion would be, but he figured that GTB tournament officials would take care of it, and so deigned to merely relax in his room for now.

Placing the empty paper cup upon the armrest of the chair, Ea rummaged through the pockets of his dress jacket for his pocket watch. "It appears i am already late for my appointment, best i hurry" he said softly before rising from his comfortable chair. Looking towards the elevator he decided against that method of travel and took preference with the stairs. Taking only a single step up the staircase before halting. He tapped his cane against the step twice, and suddenly what was once a stair case now acted like an escalator carrying the man upwards while he stood relaxed and comfortable. It would take only a few minutes for the wizard to travel from the main lobby to the rooftop. Greeting the cold air with a flat expression the wizard heard the click of the heavy door closing behind him. By this time the man was wide awake, his suit jacket was on and his tie no longer dangled loosely. Brushing his hair out of his eyes with a gloved hand, Ea looked about the appearing empty rooftop. "Now i was sure i was supposed to be meeting someone up here. I guess i should stop trusting those street oracles and fortune tellers." Looking out towards the burning building in the distance, the wizard of legend lets the mana from his body flow into the cane beneath his palms. The black cane almost appearing to have a faint ghostly spirit engulfing it as it became charged with magical energy. "The clouds are shifting, its going to rain this evening"

A fog was rising. The wreckage of a helicopter on the roof of the hotel would pour black smoke over the cloudy night sky. From behind the wizard's left side, a slim yet figure would pass him, walking in front of him. It's back was turned and it quickly paced to the edge of the roof, slipping over it and disappearing as if it had never been there to begin with. A strange shrieking noise would echo through the air around the roof top. ... The soldier quickly hauled himself up the side of the building. It seemed the closer to the top he got, the harder it was to climb up. Footholds were becoming far and few between. Though even if he fell, he could use the energy shield to save himself. Despite the slight safety net, he still regretted his decision to climb on the window.
If he was in a dangerous situation just by being in the hotel, he wasn't exactly helping himself by climbing the side of a huge building without any real equipment. After his fight, he had secretly taken a morphine pill to take away his pain until he could visit the infirmary. Another motive was to avoid showing any winces or tells to potential future match ups. It was a dangerous game.
A strange sound in the air paused him. "...Huh?" A window several feet to his left shattered. Squinting at the scene, he saw very little glass falling. Whatever it was must have gone in. Listening over the wind, he could hear screaming inside, followed by glass shattering and large banging noises. "What the hell is going on here?"
In front of his face, a shadow appeared in the window.SMASH!Hath found himself within an airborne mess of glass. Something hard and strong smashed into him, knocking the wind out of him and tossing his body into the open air. As he fell amid bits of glass, he tried to see what had burst through the window. Glass threatened to blind him, so he covered his eyes and failed to see his attacker. "Energy-" An armored hand was at his throat, cutting off his words. Whoever it belonged to, remained blurred. All he knew was that they were incredibly strong. They could also fly.
The figure would raise up to the roof again and throw Hath's body onto it in front of the wizard. It payed him no mind.
Standing up, the commander stepped back so that he was in this position:
------Closest Edge of Roof------ _____________(Figure)__________________ _____________________________________ _____________________________________ _____________________________________ _____________________________________ _________Hath________________________ ____________________Wizard___________ _____________________________________
He looked at the one who had assaulted him as they landed, shaking and causing slight damage to the building. As it stood still, he could see that it was a woman. She was around the same height as himself. She wore armor that covered her entire body. Each limb had plating on the top side, with more flexible ridged armor on the back. A spiked helmet covered her face. (Kind of like a female version of this) "Well Commander..." She spoke with a metallic voice, sounding rather inhuman. Yet the tiny fraction of her humanity that could be heard through her armor was sinister, hateful and malevolent. "..I'm not impressed with your reaction time..." It was Agent 8. One of his bosses.
"Spectaria." She pointed her hand at him, open palmed with armored fingers like blades. "Don't call me that. He's weak. I'm better..." Hath lowered his hands to his sides and stood straight. "Sorry, Eight... What are you doing here?" "Alll business huh? Good. I enjoy men like you." There was a tilt in her head as she looked at the wizard. 8 folded her arms behind her back. Armored feet clicked against the roof as she paced a circle around Hath. "There has been a change of plans, Hath... Kai's little 'publicity project' is overridden. By me. Since it is quite rare for so many primers to gather in one spot, I have permission to cancel your mission and reunite you with your beloved Owens.. But first..." She stepped forward and pointed down at the building. "Go put on your gear. I need you to assist me in murder-" She stammered, stepped closer and turned her head to speak to him again. "Assist me in eliminating all of these miserable bastards before the night's over. "
Glancing at the wizard, Spectaria spoke again, raising three talon like fingers to him pointing at them with the other hand. "You don't look like a threat... If you help me kill these people, perhaps I will spare you. Or just cower in a corner and hide. Or die. I don't care. But choose or I will choose for you... And I'll choose 'Die'."

"..Or i will choose for you"The wizard's pupils dilated, the crackling of flames filled his ears as fire rose up and licked at the night sky. Sparks lit up the pitch black night like stars as the fiery walls consumed the village around the man. The cries of children and the screams of wives pouring out from behind the walls of flames. A silhouette casting a shadow over the man spoke in a toxic fume, the yellow eyes piercing the night like daggers. "What will it be, human?"The flames quickly died out as they were consumed by a vacuum and the cold night standing upon the rooftop of the hotel returned as the wizard lips parted, "I choose death". Adjusting his grip upon the sleek black cane, the wizard held it at his hip much like a samurai would clench a sword. Memories of past washing over the wizard one again. The sounds of laughter echoed in his mind as the roaring flames overtook the rooftop once more. The yellow eyes staring down upon the wizard as his clasped the handle of a legendary blade. Raising its mystic blade towards the face of the beast that hunched over him. A twin blade weapon of a slimming design the crystalline sword looked to be made of ice. A wizard's blade, the magical sword was known to many as the Manamune. Hand falling upon the polish gold head of the cane, the dreamscape collapsed around Ea revealing the city skyline once more as fingers curled over the cane in preparation to that of drawing a sword. The memories that had leaked into his currently reality blinding the wizard to the truth, clouded his judgement to believe he was indeed draw the legendary blade from its sheath. "I have survived your precursor and i will live to see your predecessor." Ea said with a snarl twisting his lips. Driven into the madness of regret by the words he had heard so long ago, the wizard saw the world as what it once was, not as how it really was. [ Music]

"Seems I've missed quite a bit..."
Since he had returned to his own home, Damon had missed most of the events at the Hotel. No doubt these attacks were the reason he was given an escort home, and not back to his room. He made a mental note to give those two soldiers a raise once he tournament had finished.
Throwing his bag onto his bed in his room, Damon changed the channel of the TV to an action movie. He then casually flopped down into a nearby chair and relaxed, awaiting the results of round one to be released.
Damon already knew that he had won, because how could you make someone forfeit and lose the match? Still he was curious as to what the judges would say and score him. It hadn't been his best performance, but he was still getting into the swing of things.
This was assuming that they decided to carry on with the tournament. All of that bad press combined with the attacks and missing owner could easily kill this thing off.
Only time would tell.

Ellie had arrived shortly after Damon had. The island had become suddenly dangerous, according to her mother, and so was instructed to get comfortable at the GTB. But upon arrival, she was wondering if this was any better.
Standing in the bar area, she watched the t.v. coverage of the explosion that had occurred at the HQ. As well as the countless attacks on the tournament participants, and people who had come to simply watch, in other parts of gtb.
Only a few minutes into the coverage, Ellie had enough, and would make her way towards the room that Damon was in.
Pretty soon Damon would hear a soft rap on the door.

After the second knock the door slowly opened. Inside the room was well lit and there was a duffelbag sitting on the bed. The sound of a shower in the background gave enough of a clue as to where Damon was.
You'd think he had mentally opened the door for her, but he was just absent minded enough to forget to shut it properly. Ellie could make herself comfortable for the evening, and Damon was sure to join her a little bit later.
