"Your brother is always crazy," Zhiqiang suddenly piped up from out of nowhere, grinning from ear to ear as he reached out to pat Yuzhi, entirely unaware (or simply not caring) about the fact that his sleeve was draping down over her face.
"...Though I have to agree that Tseng had best...put on some pants." Even that was a little too much for Zhi. And--
--...ohshit, wait...was he supposed to be staying away from Yuzhi today? He couldn't remember who was on his list to avoid anymore. Shik was definitely one of them, and the other was...
Yup. Oops. Hurriedly, the man whipped his hand back and away from the little horsewoman, making an awkward run for it as he dove behind the closest person--Mengyao.
"Hide me." (ānā)

Yuzhi stopped her storming away after Zhi made contact with her.
Her eyes narrowed despite who the Grasshopper hid behind, "I'm coming to get you later. Prepare yourself to be squashed like the insect you are." She promised with a low hiss. Why yes. She was still mad Zhiqiang.
Then she was gone. ((EXIT))

Heidla arrived to the auction hall at the very tense moment: a group of students, and apparently, horsemen were trying to outbid each other competing for Eris's love: they were after the Heir of War.
Heidla had nothing to say on that matter: in her opinion the sheer idea of a heir, - well, of a protector now, - standing on the scene as a lot was quite strange. She still could not consider herself a part of Halloween society... that deeply. They were still Others, and their attempts to get fit looked just more pathetic, more hard they tried.
Instead, her attention was caught by a cute looking young boil, probably of Kitsune nature. She still had some seeds, so if she has to participate in all that fun, this boil might give her a good company?.. May be?... She only trusted the looks. "I'd like to bid 10 seeds on the kitsune boil, please", she inquired.
HEIDLA IS BIDDING 10 SEEDS ON REMI!

"Y'd assume right," the tikbalang nodded as he began to flex his arms. "And since y'r my "mistress" for a day, it ain't right'v me to let y' walk." A teasing grin pulled at his mouth before he leaned down to offer the winged ghoul his shoulder to ride on.

"Zhiqiang, ummm..." Lan was trying her best to motion the soldier to perhaps move away from Mengyao. And ever so slightly motion that Invictus was present. And Meng was not safe, then again, she was not either. "Tseng... Please, you are making a disgrace of yourself." Her tone was a bit harsher, but not that loud. She also avoided looking at him and his lack of oants. "Please, do you sister and our clan no dishonor this day. She only wishes the best for you both." The gold haired noble was trying to make them look something akin to the clan that others had reason to fear. Not a.... Comedy act.

"Hi, Remi!" Thackery called, waving to the kitsune with a big, crooked smile. "Don't worry, I wouldn't spring anything weird," he affirmed in a loud whisper, nodding knowingly.
He never lost one iota of excitement as the auction got a little more heated on the heir, paying close attention to be sure he didn't get outbid.
And when he did, his ears perked, and he was so ready.
THACKERY IS BIDDING 13 SEEDS ON REMI!

Invi was ready to SHAAAMMMEEEEEE everybody, but didn't yet. He just passed a few slightly disapproving glances around at his fellow Conquest Horsemen. Because their behavior was deplorable.

Everything had somehow come out wrong and now she was . . . she was really angry. Mort's lips pressed together as the witch had her say and watched her leave, a pricking guilt managing to pierce the cloud the alcohol had given him. There was going to be hell to pay, and he didn't want to face the knowledge just yet. Not when there was still buzz left in his system.
Just a damn auction. Jack.
"Not up for it," he mumbled to Alex as he loosely crossed his arms and turned back to the stage. "Want her so bad, keep her. Mrr . . . Anyone from this bunch should try for?" He didn't sound the least bit enthusiastic anymore.

Meanwhile at the hall of Justice backstage, a certain horseman was coming to. Maybe it was the shouting between Yuzhi and Tseng. Maybe it was the fact that Shaheen had been looming over him and he unconsciously knew it.
All Shik knew was that when he woke up, he was in an unknown location, sitting in a chair with his hands bound behind him by the bandages that had once covered his waist.

Miyako was wandering everywhere with her list. She had one signature left to get, and she had no idea how to find it. Someone 5ft or shorter...well she was 5"4, so it had to be someone shorter then her. So she searched around for people shorter then her. She came across some odd place, people were yelling out numbers and holding up silvler seeds. It looked like something big was going on. There seemed to be a few students that everyone else seemed to be looking at. Well, Miyako was still really confused on what was going on in this place. It looked like things were being sold, but there were no items anywhere to be found, only people. The feline shook her head, it was pointless she just wasn't going to understand it, not unless someone told her what was going on. The bakeneko was not all that bright. Anyways after a few minutes of trying to figure out what the place was, Miyako figured it didn't matter, what mattered was finding a short ghoul. Okay..Miyako felt kind of bad. She didn't like calling anyone short, or any other kind of names. But she wasn't trying to be mean, the list calls for a person under 5ft so that is what she had to look for. She would of had alot more fun if the list said to search for a blue person. Blue was her favorite color. As Miyako searched, and got lost in her own thoughts, she saw someone that was alot shorter then most of the people she saw there. She thought she mite go to the ghoul and ask if they were 5ft or shorter, because really, Miyako had no idea how to tell had tall anyone was. She didn't have one of those "mesure stick things" (she called them.), with her so she had no way to find out except asking. She walked up to TG and tried to ask him. "Uh-umm..excuse me but, umm.. are you 5ft tall or um shorter?" She figeted nervously as she asked. Pulling out her list she pointed to the last number on it to show him why she was asking.

To be perfectly honest, it probably was not the best of decisions for Eris to have signed up for this auction. Mostly because her status as Heir created quite a problem to the clan's security, considering her 'champion' would ultimately 'own' her for a day's time. There was a plethora of untold secrets to be spilled, plots and musings whispered in the confidence of private meetings in a certain illusion mistresses' tent. But the horsewoman wasn't concerned about that. She had considered it, naturally, but after a few moments the thought had been discarded with a smile and a little shrug as she'd signed her name with a flourish. More than likely, the culprit was merely poor judgement, or perhaps pride; none would challenge her in such a way, daring to manipulate her.
So, with this caution thrown to the wind, worry completely absent, War's Heir seemed completely at ease up on the stage, listening politely as the names of those to be bidded on. If she was offended that Riley had essentially called her boring, she didn't show it; instead, Eris merely smiled at her self-proclaimed protege, an almost predatory smile which would, naturally, have no effect on the mindflayer. That was one of the things she liked about Riley, there was no intimidating her. That, and Riley practically bled the essence of War. Conquest, too, and to an extent Death as well... the horsewoman had often teased that her soul had been misplaced during birth, and that she had clearly belonged with them. The real secret was that while Eris claimed Riley as her protege, the balance of power was not quite that black and white. It was thrilling, in a way, and so she paid absolutely no mind to the words which would have normally burned her. As it was, her pride would have been redeemed as the mindflayer attempted to set her bidding price exceptionally high, offering the ghoul a promising little wink before settling her attention out onto the cafeteria floor.
As it was, Eris was actually surprised as the bidding began. Having never been to an auction (one of the many appeals which had drawn her to entering,) and was surprised by how fast-paced it was. She had little time to admire the others on the auction floor, something which she had planned on doing before it had began, but had never gotten around to. Instead, she promised herself she would do that a little later, flicking her eyes to those who placed in a bid for her, the first being a little red imp she didn't recognize. Not that that was surprising; Eris was not exactly familiar with the students of Amityville. Still, she offered TG a smile, lifting her fingers to her lips to blow him a kiss in reply.
Even more surprisingly, the second bidder she recognized. Eyebrows lifting a little, the horsewoman looked a little pleased as she spotted Mort, waggling her fingers at him. He, too, was one who got special treatment from the heir, always thinking fondly of the undead boil. There was a look of mild intrigue when she heard his speech from across the cafeteria, her head cocking to the side for a moment as she listened, but when she had deemed his drunkeness to be benign and of little danger, Eris visibly relaxed a little, the corners of her lips curling upward in amusement.
What was most amusing, however, was Riley and Junko's reactions. Riley's bid was met with the same even smile as her announcement had, whether it had surprised her or not remaining to be seen. But Junko's was a surprise entirely, and it showed. Lifting her eyebrows, she gave the ghoul a questioning look, her eyes screaming sin as she gave her a decidedly suggestive look over.
Perhaps it was best you got outbid, Junko.
The bidding continued, and Eris watched with interest, offering little smiles and teasing little winks where applicable. Until, of course, her eyes fell on a remarkably familiar figure standing in the crowd. It took less than half a second for her to recognize him; a mere corner of his elaborate coat could have alerted her to his presence. And if the heir had seemed pleased before, she practically lit up as when she saw that familiar controlled expression watching her, his heterochromatic eyes glittering with subtle possessiveness. Almost immediately, she had spread her wings as if about to take flight, remembering at the last moment that she was supposed to stay on the stage and folding them again, instead extending one charred-black hand, palm up, beckoning.
"Invi!" she called, surprisingly far less seductive than her normal tone. Invictus had a way of doing that to her. Resting her cheek on her shoulder, she smiled at Invictus, giving him nothing less than an adoring look, "Won't you join me, meus?"
Well, it wasn't hard to tell who wore the pants in THAT relationship. Was she inviting him to be part of her auction? It was hard to tell.
The bids rolled on, but her distraction with Invictus had been just that: extremely distracting. It wasn't until Mengyao put in his bid of 115 seeds that she glanced up, searching for the voice she felt she might have recognized, unsurprised to find that it was, indeed, a horseman. He was one of the many he only had a vague knowledge of, able to recognize him as a nobleman but having very little personal knowledge of him, as it was with a great deal of the horsemen who resided outside of War. However, this was not much of a deterrent, nor did it bother her in the least. While some of the other horsemen seemed concerned that he was bidding on her in front of their Heir, she merely smiled in a genuinely pleasant manner, offering him the respect he deserved.
"Greetings, Nobleman," she greeted him in a smooth, polite tone, bowing low at his waist. "It is an honor that I may be of service to one of Invictus' clan."

The tikbalang's gesture was unexpected, but not unwelcome. Taima stifled a giggle as she hopped onto the offered shoulder, small and slight enough that she fit up there with room to spare--though that could also be attributed to the broadness of Petro's form. "Pony ride~," she certainly didn't trill. This was going to be so much fun!

Well there went the pleasant buzz associated with drinking sensible amounts of alcohol and not completely overduing it....Though to be honest Alex had been getting more bold with his swigs from the bottled stash on Morts jacket pocket, and it was probably for the best that he just stop now, since thinking straight was difficult yet apparently necessary when dealing with ghouls.
Luckily he didn't really have a ghoul to deal with. That was Mort's ghoul. Still, Mort's current state could almost definitely been pinned on Alex, and that meant taking a certain amount of responsibility for what just happened.
This was meant to be something fun. Something they could enjoy and distract them selves with. This was meant to be able to give his zombro a break, to let him get out and be happy. Something told him that Mort being on the outs with his ghoulfriend was counterproductive to these means.
"Depends what you like." He was concentrating fairly hard on constructing complete and concise sentences with no hint of slurring. "Though I don't know. Maybe we should just go and come back later." It had taken a lot of brain power to sound that sensible.
----------------------------
Backstage, and Shaheen was getting antsy again. She had pushed herself up from her sitting position and had begun pacing. Her golden eyes regularly flicked over towards Shiks unconscious form, her muscles tensed up and ready for action at the smallest sign of---
The second he moved a muscle, she was already there, moving rapidly do that she stood behind him in his chair.
"Good morning, sunshine~" She breathed, while already debating if she should just hit him over the head again and try to knock him back out.

When Taima got onto his shoulder, Petro got to his feet, a hand resting lightly on her legs. Just to make sure he could keep her balanced on him, "'S just for while y'r my auction mistress," he warned, though the teasing glint in his eye suggested that he wasn't very good in refusing a ghoul's request. (Unless said request was countered by a certain Engraver's, in which case, Tro would have to decline but that was neither here not there.)
But for now, he was Taima's pony for a day, "'S there a place y're interested in going?"

She didn't have to beckon twice - if anybody had questioned how much authority Conquest had over the other heirs, it would have been more clear that they were all, in some ways, victims (perhaps willingly) of each other's whims. He'd seen that she was practically called to him, and he in turn was literally called to her.
That look that no bidder could ever hope to win was reserved for him alone (or so he'd say until she passed it to another heir, but that was semantics) and that lack of actually needing to seduce him - he was hers. She clearly knew it, and it was likely more annoying than actually surprising when the protector edged his way through those who were voting to come up onto the stage as well.
Taking the War heiress' hand, he kissed her knuckles, then, lips still to her fingers, he passed a look up towards her, before a grin - completely lovestruck in it's nature - came across his face. Invading the stage? Of course.
And with that step complete, Invictus wrapped one arm around Eris's waist and pulled her closer to him, his subtle possessive stare passing out over the crowd.
His.

HEIDLA IS BIDDING 15 SEEDS ON REMI!Somebody was trying to outbid her! Heidla turned hear head and cast a glance over... well, she could not tell exactly, if that was a boil or a ghoul, but surely the creature was KAWAIII DESU cute. Cute... but she won't allow anyone to outbid her: that was just a matter of pride, nothing personal. "What's your name... bidder?", she could not think of any other way to address her opponent. " My name is Heidla, Heidla Hamhleypa".
