Miyuki giggled at that, her uncle could be so silly sometimes she thought to herself. Still, she tried to focus back on Claress.
"And I'll make sure my parents know this has already been settled, I think they're out and about somewhere today, I'm just not sure where."

Claress was also smiling, but she kept focused on Miyuki and bowed her head again.
"Thank you. Then I will send word to the palace when everything is complete," she said formally.
Iorlas took Daeron's arm and pulled him firmly towards the door. "Thank you for your help," she told Claress warmly. "We shall let you get on with your work."
"Yes, thank you," Daeron added with a grin.

Miyuki chuckled at her aunt and uncle, it sounded like Iorlas had her hands full with Dareon sometimes. She wondered how that ended up happening.
"Thank you again," Miyuki smiled as picked up her Eevee again and hurried to join her aunt and uncle.
Once they were back out of the shop, the Eevee yawned.
"Was that boring for you?" Miyuki asked it.
It just blinked up at her and "preed" in return, and Miyuki couldn't help but wonder what that meant.

Iorlas smiled and leaned forward to look past Daeron at the little Eevee in Miyuki's arms.
"It's so cute," she murmured. "Have you chosen a name for it yet?"

Miyuki shook her head, "Not yet, I'm still thinking about it."
She would like to pick something that would suit, though she knew very little about her new pet. Perhaps she thought, she should choose something in reference to her pet's future form...

"Is it a boy or a girl?" Daeron asked curiously.
It was funny, Miyuki had been carrying it since he and Iorlas had first seen her that day, but neither of them had thought to ask about it yet. Of course, originally they'd had other things on their mind.

"A girl," Miyuki smiled.
Normally one did not think of the gender of their pet, it normally it only mattered when naming a pet or wishing to breed it, but for Miyuki if she was to be with any really intelligent creature she would prefer it female.
Just so it would be less awkward for her.
"I asked Shiro after she hatched."

Daeron chuckled. "You seem quite pleased with the fact," he couldn't help but comment. "You were hoping for a female?"
Obviously when it came to eggs, there was no way to tell before they hatched whether they would be male or female.

"I noticed from the way Andarien talks with his that the Eevees are very intelligent. Like, Senka intelligent, it's just most of us can't understand them very well. I think it would be awkward to have a male around with anyone who is that intelligent," Miyuki admitted.
She finally understood why her mother had allowed for Miyuki to take up all of Senka's attention. It simply wasn't practical to have a cat who could talk in the same room with a married couple.

Iorlas nodded knowingly. "That makes sense," she agreed. "Of course I haven't much to say on the subject of intelligent animals ... not without being hypocritical, anyways."
"Now, now," Daeron hushed her. "Don't talk like that."
Iorlas looked up at him, quite seriously now. "You can't deny it."

Miyuki shook her head, but she understood what Iorlas meant. Afterall, Iorlas had been at one point an "intelligent animal", which was strange because well... Iorlas was Iorlas.
"Anyhow, I was sure I was going to get a boy because females are rare among Eevees. I guess it balances it all out since Andarien ended up with an Eevee with unique colours."

"What do you mean by that?" Iorlas asked curiously, her attention diverted once more by Miyuki's strange comments. "About females being rare, and Andarien's Eevee having unique colours? I always thought birth rates were about half male and half female ... and that colours were equally possible as well ..."
"Well, we already know that they are not like any creatures we're already familiar with," Daeron pointed out. He looked down at Miyuki. "Though I must admit, I'm also curious."

"Normally, but for some reason the chances of having a female is about 5 percent, and Eevees are normally brown and white, not silver and white like Andarien's," Miyuki explained, "Shiro said colourings like Eon happens very rarely, I don't know if he told me the odds for that."
She didn't know why that is or how they kept up their population, but she didn't know how Pokemon breeding worked.

Daeron blinked. "I would imagine they must lay quite a large number of eggs, if females are that rare," he murmured, brow furrowed slightly.
"Either that, or their number must be decreasing," Iorlas added softly. "Or perhaps they are immortal ... do you know if they are, Miyuki?"
If the creatures were immortal, it would make sense that they could keep up their numbers with so few females.

That was actually a good question, "I don't know, I never asked..."
She had taken immortality for granted seeing as most of those around her were.
