Niphredil Ithilmir o_0 I've never been in this thread.. (being not Canadian and all) and the first thing I see is "wiim's changing people's genders" sweatdrop That's okay that you've never been in here. Canada has close ties to Britain, right? Our spelling is based off British English anyway. xd
Oh, uh....Just ignore the gender manipulations in here. wink

melonsoda Hi, just curious if there are any Chinese Canadians in this guide? I'm born in HK but came to Canada when I was around... 4 years old? I speak Cantonese and.. currently reside in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. How about you? biggrin Care to introduce yourself? Eek I'm so similar to you! I immigrated from Honk Kong when I was almost four. I speak Cantonese at home with my parents and I currently live in BC, Canada. WOw!

I also speak and read/type/write Mandarin Chinese (but I still have a lot to learn). So I don't know if I count. smile

Pfft. you're talking about the word color aren't you? color=colour. so... nobody in the guild likes americans cry but but... are we really that bad cry oh well... what are you going to do about it. not like our president's been doing a great job in the first place.

Yeah, words like colour, neighbour, favourite, saviour, and....Others. But Canadian English some differs from British as well. A good example is "tyre" and "tire."

I got your answer. why we don't use the letter u and why it's license instead of lisence. it's because of the blueback speller. after the americans broke away from the british we decided to educate the children the american way which apparently includes a new way of spelling. American spelling is just a way to differentiate americans from the british. but this happened like forever ago so i doubt anyone really cares. hehe learned that in am. hist. mrgreen
