~*Radagon Mimuria*~Though Radagon had gotten closer and closer to making a knot, the problem was that he was moving his hands to fast and smacking them together so much that the rope wasn't being tied into a knot. So, stopping to rest his hands by shacking them, he dropped the rope onto his desk and began planning for another approach. Going to fast was helping, so he was going to have to try another approach. Going a bit slower so that he watch his work properly this time sounded like a good idea, as going to fast was making his hands hurt anyway. Now grabbing the rope, Radagon began going a bit more slower than before, first looping the rope before trying to pull through the hole he had made to make the first part of the knot. He actually pulled too much for a loop, so the rope just flopped back into the first position it was in. Frowning, Radagon went to loop again, but paid more attention to making the loop than how fast he was going to try and make it. He needed to pay very close attention to his work and not try to rush it. He needed patience for the last push he was doing, and so he needed to remain calm and ignore all outside influence. -----------------------------------------------------------------------

Quote: Progress: 7/10. Attempt 11. PC: 49 :: FAILHizen pulled on the loose ends of this new attempt at the trick knot. To his delight, the knot behaved as he expected. With the trick knot unraveling successfully in the manner it was intended to do so, Hizen was excited. ”That mechanism is just so cool. I’ve got to try it again.” Quickly iterating through several more attempts at the trick knot, Hizen figured out that he’d simply missed a step in his first attempt. Trying again with the rough textured rope, Hizen was successfully able to recreate the trick knot and unravel it using its built in mechanism. ”That really is an amazing piece of ropework. A knot that is, for all intents and purposes, secure unless you pull on the right loose end and the correct loop, in which case it just falls apart. Awesome.” Flipping through the knots contained in the text book’s pages, looking for another knot to catch his eye, Hizen happened upon a stopper knot the book called a figure-eight knot. Looking at the diagrams of the knot, it wasn’t hard for Hizen to understand why. Reading about the used and the method of the figure-eight, Hizen decided that it was the next knot he would try. He picked up his rope and made an attempt. (213 words)

~*Radagon Mimuria*~Going slow seemed to be the way to go, as Radagon was able to make the knot a lot more easier than before. Everything went right and soon he had a good bowline knot in front of him. Though it was his fifth one he had been able to do since beginning the ten knot run, he was glad that he was already half way to being done. Taking his time was paying off, so he had to keep it going. He allowed himself a quick stretch in his chair, letting out a loud yawn when he did. He even felt his shoulders pop when he did, which brought a quick relief to his upper body before the feeling of hearing a pop made Radagon shiver a bit. Just some bones weren't really meant to pop on him, but it always felt good in some ways. Now to the task at hand, he grabbed the rope that was in a knot and pulled it apart so that he could begin again. He started the same way before, making the loop fist and one he had reached the length he wanted, he pulled the end through and pulled it out. But, he wasn't paying attention to which end he grabbed, so it fell apart quick. Reminding himself that he needed to grab the right end to pull through the loop, Radagon went and started again. -----------------------------------------------------------------------

Loric shook his head reluctantly at Miyuki's suggestion that they simply inform the sensei as of what happened. "Did you run out before the announcement? The princible came on the intercom and basically demanded that we ignore whats going on here. If we go and tell Yoshi-Sensei then that girl will get in trouble for sure...Come on, we are gonna be ninja! We have to be brave." Standing erect he turned and looked down the long hallway towards where the girl, and now Takuya had went. After a long pause, Loric lowered his head and clinched his fist tightly, "I am going after her....who ever is with me, now is the time." he said dominantly before rubbing his eyes in an attempt to regain some of his focus. "Grab my hand, let's do this!" Loric then proceeded to walk into the hallway. It didn't take long before he immediately found himself alone. He hadn't even felt them be torn from him. One moment he was gripping the hand of a comrade, the next he was by himself faced with this dangerous challenge.

Quote: Progress: 7/10. Attempt 12. PC: 49 :: FAILHizen tied the figure-eight knot on one side of a board with a hole in it, as depicted by the diagrams and instructions in the text book. He placed the board under his feet and pulled. Unfortunately, the knot slipped, coming apart, causing Hizen to stumble backwards from the sudden loss of resistance. ”Damn. That one looked so easy. Wait a minute… I’m using the super slick rope. No wonder the knot slipped and came apart. I need to use the rough one for a knot that is meant to cinch tight.” Hizen set the slick rope aside and grabbed the rough textured rope to use for his next attempt. ”If this doesn’t work, maybe I’ll just use the wet ones and make it refreeze once it’s through the hole and tied.” Hizen let out a small chuckle to himself at the thought of freezing the knots so they’d stay solid. ”Although… That might be a trick I need to keep in mind should the need ever arise. In fact, I could theoretically just freeze the rope to something to keep is in place, but that’s a trick for another day.” Hizen picked up the rough rope and prepared another attempt at the figure-eight. ~*Radagon Mimuria*~Well the last one didn't work so well. In a rush, Radagon had went and started moving a little faster than before, so he ended up way to fast and ended up smacking his hands hard. Quickly dropping the rope onto the desk, he began to shake his hands rapidly to help deal with the pain of having two sore hands. He couldn't just sit around, however. The deadline for completing the work was drawing closer and closer with each passing second, so Radagon was going to step it up again and deal with the pain. Grabbing the rope with a half knot already made, he thought about keeping the knot he already had and just keep moving with it, but that felt like he was cheating and he didn't want that. So he pulled the knot out and made sure the rope was ready again. Being used over and over again could cause some wearing down on the rope, making it much to weak to hold a knot together. Seeing that it was fine for now, Radagon began working on his new knot. This time he was going to start a bit different. First he brought the two ends together, then crossed them so that he could make a base knot in the middle. Then, once that was done, he was going to make another knot by looping through to make one half-way to the first, then loop through the two to make a third, ending up with a strong three-knot and going on from there. He had the first part done, but was he going to be able to finish? -----------------------------------------------------------------------

Quote: Progress: 7/10. Attempt 13. PC: 49 :: SUCCESSAs the figure-eight knot slipped again, stumbled and wasn’t able to keep his balance this time, landing on his butt. ”Damn… Of course it’s the easy looking ones that I have issues with…” Examining the failed knot, Hizen noticed that the strain of his pull on the rope had caused the knot to cinch tighter and jam, making the whole thing smaller than the hole it was supposed to be holding against.”Well… there’s the problem. This rope is apparently too small around to use with this knot and this test board. I need a bigger rope this time.” Moving over to his provided knot kit, Hizen began rummaging through the many ropes, twines, and test apparatuses that had been provided to him. Finding a larger rope, still with the rougher texture on it, Hizen was optimistic about his next attempt. He worked the rope in his hands for a while just to make sure it was supple enough to fit into the tight shape that he was going to force it into without breaking. Having tested the material suitability of the rope, Hizen moved back over to the text book on his desk and again began following the diagrams and steps presented therein. (204 words)

Quote: Progress: 8/10. Attempt 15. PC: 49 :: SUCCESSHizen pulled against the test board, trying to make the knot fail. To his elation, the knot held the rope in place securely. Hizen untied the knot from the board. He retrieved another test apparatus that would allow him to try again with the slick rope, since this test board had a smaller hole through it. Tying the slick rope through the hole, Hizen was able to tie the knot securely. After a few more attempts with various sizes of rope, Hizen felt that he had appropriately mastered the figure-eight knot. Glancing at the clock, Hizen noticed that his time to finish this lesson was quickly expiring. ”I don’t really have lots of time left to be picky about the knots I learn. I need to get a couple more under my belt so I can prove to the teacher that I did learn correctly.” With that thought, Hizen flipped through some more pages of the text book, stopping on one labeled “Square or Reef Knot”. Looking at the diagrams, Hizen felt that this one should be easy enough to get that he could afford to take his time on the next one. Retrieving two similarly sized pieces of string from his kit, Hizen began his first attempt. (208 words)

~*Radagon Mimuria*~Well the idea for a three knot going into a stronger knot base ended in failure. Radagon forgot to see just how long the rope was, so when he got to the third knot, he ran out of rope to use and ended up tearing a bit of the rope when he pulled too hard. Well, plenty of rope still. Radagon tossed the rope to the side and walked to the back for another piece. Once he found one that was at least longer than the one he had before, Radagon made sure to do a few test knots to see if he could make another three knot base before he was going to try again. But, when he tried, the rope actually broke in half. At first he thought he was going to need to get up for another string of rope, when he saw that the rope he thought he had broke apart was actually two strings of rope that had been tied together at the ends to make it seem that one had a much longer rope piece than the others. Well, since he now had two pieces of rope that he could work with, Radagon knew he wasn't going to have to get up again at any point for more rope for at least a while. Now that he had two, Radagon took one in his hand and started with another bowline knot. At least if he tried something he already had done a few times now, it may make it a bit easier. Starting slow again, Radagon began making the new knot and started with the loop, then the first knot by pulling the end through the loop. -----------------------------------------------------------------------

It seemed that someone had also gone out and headed for the door, and after they exited there was an announcement that everyone was to just go home. This was minorly depressing to Kuro but none the less they needed to go help the girl. Miyuki didn't seem to thrilled about the plan but at this moment Kuro had to agree with Loric about trying to get the girl. "I'm with you Loric, I'm also curious on what is just going on in here..." So with that, Kuro took a hold of Loric's hand and then stretched his hand out for Miyuki, or maybe she'd grab Loric's other hand. Ether way though it didn't matter, as they all started to take of into a rush. They were all in a hurry, probably because of what happened to them earlier and he knew that they didn't want that to happen again.

~*Radagon Mimuria*~A third fail now, Radagon was beginning to get mad at the rope he had in his hand. Remembering he had a second for these kind of things, he began taking apart the rope. Strange how they were supposed to learn how to make a proper knot, but in the end most of the students had destroyed or tossed away most of the rope. At least he did, as he didn't pay much attention to the others around him. Taking a moment to look around, Radagon saw someone was also going through the same task as he was. But it seemed they were having a much easier time than he did, as they were getting knot after knot, with little failure. He, on the other hand, seemed to be getting the worst luck for the last three times in a row that he had failed to make a knot and just wanted to burn all the rope in the room. but arson was bad, at least at the place he was in. He was going to save the pleasure of burning the rope in his pocket that dared to fail him twice in a row for some arson. But for now, Radagon grabbed his second piece of rope he had from when he had a joined pair of rope, and began playing with it before he was going to get ready to make a knot out of it. -----------------------------------------------------------------------

Quote: Progress: 9/10. Attempt 16. PC: 49 :: FAILPulling on the knot showed it to be holding fast. ”Good. I have tied this kind of knot before. It would be really embarrassing if it didn’t hold on my first attempt. It’s a really simple one.” Quickly extracting the two pieces of string from each other, Hizen began searching through the text book, looking for that one knot that would complete his repertoire. He flipped into the coil knot section, thinking that a knot to store his rope would be useful. He flipped to the one called the ‘Alpine Coil Knot’. Hizen thought that he had seen his father tying this knot when caring for the gear he took on missions with him. His father use the knot to store his rope both while at home and while on a mission, Hizen figured it was probably as good as any. Completing his first successful Alpine coil proved to be a bit harder than Hizen had anticipated. He formed the bight and round turns correctly, but, unfortunately, when he pulled the bight end to tighten the knot down, it simply pulled the working end through, causing a tangled mess of rope to appear out of the neat coil he had been trying to make. Determined to succeed, Hizen untangled his rope and tried again. (214 words)

With that knot out of the way, it was time for something more complicated, she wondered a little what the next knot would be, she was a little disappointed when it turned out to be the same knot in basic look, and for how you would start it. But after thinking about it for a moment she knew that this made a lot of sense, you would learn a knot that was the base for a lot of other knots, it was still a little sad knowing she would be following the same step as before in this knot. The new knot was called the figure eight bend or a Flemish bend, she wondered where it got the name Flemish bend from, as she look at the knot and the step for it, she noticed that rather than one robe this time she would be using two, with that she grabbed a second robe. She started by making one figure 8 knot in one of the robes, following the steps she just learnt, it was so much easier. Once the knot was in place, she took the other robe, and ran it around the other knots bends, with a smile she finished making the knot then pulls it tight making a neat design. Quote: Progress: 9/10. Attempt 17. PC: 49 :: SUCCESSIt seemed that luck was not with Hizen on this particular knot. This attempt, he appeared to have bound the round turns too tightly and was not able to pull the bight end to tighten the knot down. ”I know I’ve seen father tie this a hundred times. Too bad I didn’t have my Sharingan active when watching….” Hizen suddenly hit himself in the forehead with the palm of his hand. ”I’ve been doing this the whole time without my Sharingan active. I should have turned it on as soon as I got to class and watched the other students. Especially that girl who did it really quickly. That would have given me some insight into how to tie these stupid knots correctly. Why am I so dense?”If I keep hitting myself, people are going to wonder what’s going on. I should just get back to work.” Hizen made sure that he was carefully following the directions and diagrams as they were presented in the text book as he began making his second attempt. He chose a the rougher rope for this attempt, feeling that the texture might help the knot stay together while allowing him to not tighten it too much and ruin the knot. (207 words)

“No,” Miyuki admitted sheepishly remembering what had happened after she had been affected by the ominous feeling which emanated from this hallway, “I did not hear the announcement.” The young girl was still uneasy about this idea; however, there was strength in numbers. Not to mention, there was a huge variation in the types of skills that each individual had acquired. Miyuki assumed that if they went in together, especially while having physical contact, that everything would work out accordingly. Not to mention, she would feel safer than if she had been alone. Perhaps if everything did work out, everyone would become closer as a team due to this experience.“Alright,” Miyuki broke down after regarding the situation in its entirety. The young girl looked around to take in everyone’s face. Her stomach was beginning to churn; however, she could not allow the student who had disappeared down the hallway to be put into any danger. She noticed that Kuro had out stretched his hand towards Miyuki after making the conscious decision to disappear down the hallway along with everyone else. She grabbed Kuro’s hand and began to squeeze tightly. Miyuki held out her hand to see if anyone else had made the decision to tag along on this little adventure, particularly the girl from her class who seemed to be having a mental breakdown.“Everything will be okay together,” she attempted to reassure Sanyo while working hard to maintain her own composure. . “I hope that everything works out like you plan it to,” the young girl paused for a minute taking a deep breath, “Loric.” Miyuki had turned back just in time to notice Kuro and Loric disappear right before their eyes.“What?” the girl shrieked in fear, “the hell is going on?” She looked towards Sanyo with wide eyes filled with fear.“I cannot do this anymore,” the young girl felt as if her body was growing heavy. She had no idea how to react to this situation. This was certainly a Genjutsu; however, it was far beyond the ability of the academy students.
