Dakota had to stifle the urge to say life isn't fair. Especially since he was the one who got stuck in a room with shadows crunching his leg, even now, his ankle was still on the mend and sore to walk on.
"I'm not going to hurt you unless you hurt us again or the kids that are here." Dakota was probably the most frustrated of the group, he didn't trust halloween as far as he could throw it..which in case you didn't know, he couldn't throw it at all.
And after being in a mission where kids had invaded from the barrier hunters set up from within, his trust was about the negative range. Super negative.
Chama's point moved away from the kid though and he gave Jordan a look, questionable and concerned for how much the hunter seemed to be okay with some monster in his hands.

Cass:Empty, empty, empty. Cabinets were left open to prove how bare they were as Cass yanked and pulled things open and left them that way, glancing back at them to ensure that nothing tried to sneak away. Aside from a few rats, there was nothing. At least, until she opened the oven. A soft woosh of hot air greeted Cass as she opened the oven. It seemed to spring to life, revealing a tray in the middle of it. There was something on it, something that rolled to turn and face her. Cass was staring at her own severed head, served up in a pool of blood. It didn't help that it gave her a slow, thoughtful blink. Slowly its mouth opened as it silently gurgled out more blood than it could have held. Jordan & Dakota:The child shook her head. She had enough sense to keep her hands splayed out on the ground away from both herself and Jordan where Dakota could see them. The ghost-child closed her eyes and pressed her face against the floor. "I-I don't believe you! He wants to hurt me!" She wailed into the floor. "I-I-I didn't d-do anything to you and y-you're looking at me like I did! It's not fair! I'm not like them! N-No matter what I say you'll k-k-" Her words were broken off into a sob as a pool of ectoplasm formed around her face. Anything else she could have said was lost beneath the messy sobs that choked her.

For someone who had literally lost their head once (A very messy affair during the trials, actually. Blown it clean off.), Cass found a very surreal moment in staring back at her own face. With the gush of warm air came the scent of cooked blood and the color visibly drained from her face.
There was nobody there to watch her attempt to put on a brave face, hands shaking slightly on the oven door before she slammed it shut again and made a rather high pitched noise - was that a dog barking over the fence?
After a moment, Cass carefully cracked the oven door open again.

Cass:The head was still there. It was staring back at Cass, before it slowly rolled back. Once its lips were above the pool (by now the tray was too full, and a loud sizzling pop! could be heard when the blood struck the hot metal coils inside the oven), it took a moment to lick its lips. Even if Cass slammed the door shut again, a loud masculine voice could be heard: "Sorry 'bout that."

Cass continued to stare.
And stare.
Then she took a moment to actually touch her own neck and shoulders and ears to make sure she still had her head before sighing deeply. "Well. This is... new...." she admitted, knuckles white as she held onto the bar to the door for a long time.
"See a little girl run through here?"
Might as well.

Cass:"Mmmmnope," the head answered. "'m just here to mimic whoever opens this. Wuz expectin' a big ol' dude, not a dame. If you could close th'door again ah'd greatly appreciate it."

Cass nodded slowly. "Right. Well. Maybe one of the guys'll come in here in a few minutes then." she answered slowly before she closed the oven door again and quickly retreated from the kitchen to go check out a different room.
Or rather, she ran from the room as quickly as she could without looking visibly distressed by such an encounter.
"Okay..what else do we have down...here..ummm....." She started poking her head into other rooms.

Cass:The first room was a bathroom, thankfully clear of any sort of evidence that marked that someone was there previously. The next room was a closet, followed by a dining room. Something glinted on the far wall, reflecting the light from the glowstick. Behind Cass on the other side, there was another room, however the door was closed.

Cass eyed the light glinting across the room, before slowly turning to look to the closed door, narrowing her eyes at it. Carefully, she walked towards the door, turning the handle before nudging it open with her foot and taking a step back - just in case.

Cass:Creeeeeak.Unlike the rest of the house, it looks like a squatter of some sort lived here. From what Cass can see, a large amount of newspapers have been pulled apart and scattered all over the floor. There is a musty smell in the air, as if the room was closed off for way too long. Only question was... where was the occupant? There are muffled noises further in the room, beyond the pale glowstick's illumination.

Please don't be a giant ferret.
A few other rodents also went through her mind as she hoped none of the cage-dwelling-classroom-pet-esque creatures happened to have a cousin in that room, carefully edging her way in via a side-saddle step, arms held back against her ready to raise up in defense - which meant likely wrapping Nicodemus' chain around a face if it came to that.

Cass:As Cass edged further into the room, the door she used closed with a loud BANG! A loud rustling sound could be heard as many small, scurrying feet rushed over the tops of Cass' shoes. From the darkness a large, shadowy shape loomed above the hunter. "Ahhh," a disjointed, airy voice breathed. "It seems they delivered after all. What wonders threatening and violence can get you."It loomed close to Cass. "It" happened to be a mass made up entirely of live, wiggling rats. And the jaw that opened to speak, too, was made out of many rats with gnashing little teeth. "A pity your foolish comrades won't be able to hear you scream !" The monster breathed, lunging forward to bite Cass! Cass roll 1d20. If you roll 12 or less, Cass will take 10 damage. If you roll 13 or more, Cass dodges and is not harmed! Bossfight InitiatedHP: 105/105 Auto Attack: -5 HP per attack Notes: This entity appears to be made up of countless rats. When the boss is struck, rats fly off of it and scamper around the room. While the boss appears to be getting stronger, not all rats knocked off disappear. This entity is currently in the same room as Cass is. Once you enter, you cannot leave. Any sound made in the room is muffled.

Cass might have been grateful that the room, for some reason, muffled the loud shriek that she made when her feet were assaulted with - oh god. If there had been a chair, she would have comically thrown herself on top of it and screamed some reference to 'The Rescuers' that nobody else might have gotten out of context.
Instead, she watched the dark shape, snapping the chain she wore apart to resummon her weapon, trying to make sense of the cacophany it called a voice - they? "Then the scarelings are working for you?" she inquired, even as the took in that horrible form it had, keeping from grimacing at the visage.
As it lunged at her, Cass hit the ground before rolling away and back up into a kneeling position, taking a deep breath to calm herself. "You won't get to hear me scream either!" she taunted back.

She wasn't sure if calling out to the guys was her best option, but the idea of getting devoured by rats was far less appealing than the creature would have liked her to believe, shooting at the creature a few times and kicking a few of the resulting free-rats off of her leg when they began chewing with a hiss, a small trickle of blood dripping down her leg.

Wilson slowly followed after Cass (very, very slowly…) and it took him a while to find the room the other hunter was in, but a muffled sound alerted his attention. A cannon clattered to the ground so he could open the door. As usual, the gas mask gave him a poker face as he stepped inside. “I’m sorry, what’d you say? It was a bit muffled back there.” He pointed his cannon and as it hummed, perhaps Cass would realize it would be wise to step back just a bit as he fired off a shot of gas.
