"Yeah yeah, you lived the charmed life." Amaya muttered to Adrian, rolling her eyes as she walked inside.
Cali came over from a table in the corner, having gotten there a few minutes before. "So you're paying right?" She asked, being a rather broke teenager.

"Yes, yes, your wallet may go untouched this time." Adrian assured her as he walked up to look at the menu.

Cali grinned sheepishly, following her family over so she could place her order. "Thank you daddy." She chimed, hoping to get a few brownie points off it.

"You know you could always get a job if you want more spending money...." Adrian hinted.

"I'm going to have a job in a few months, remember?" Cali sighed, meaning her Hollywood job that was already assured to her. "I'm just a little short until then."

"Eighteen still seems a little young to me to be flying across the country to start earning your living..." Adrian muttered to himself. He still wasn't terribly fond of the idea of her taking off right after graduating high school.

"She's got a job, she's graduating high school, and she's doing what makes her happy." Amaya sighed, having had this conversation a few times now. She didn't really like it either, but Cali was already passing them both in education, and though she had money from Sikes, she was choosing to earn a living instead of just rely on the money.
"The only difference between me having a job and moving across the country is me going to college, where I could still possibly move across the country anyway is I'll be getting paid instead of paying some school money, daddy." Cali sighed as she put her hands on her hips.

"....Oh god, I'm turning into that parent that tries to live through his kids, aren't I?" Adrian said as he face/palmed when the realization hit him. His original plan was to go to college after high school, but those plans went right out the window when his wings grew in, so that didn't happen. Now Cali was passing up college to go right to work.

"Possibly. You know, you could go to college. Though the experience wouldn't quite be the same now." Amaya murmured as she brought her food over to the table. "You should be happy though, this means she's being a responsible adult instead of going to college to go to parties, drink underage and meet strange boys." She told him with a bright smile, knowing it would bother him.

"Wasn't I normally the one making you freak out by joking about things like that? How the heck did that happen?" Adrian asked, now horribly confused as he slid into the booth next to her.

"Because you're the dad." Amaya said with a smirk. "It's your job to worry that your daughter will get treated right. At this point it's my job to be her buddy and withhold some information to keep her living and you happy. Did you seriously never see any father daughter relationships on anything?" She asked.

"That doesn't answer my question on when our roles of teaser and worrier got switched." Adrian said simply.

Amaya simply shrugged, starting in on her lunch with a grin. Ii was amusing to see Adrian so flustered over their roles switching. She'd noticed that it had become somewhat of a daily switch between them, but there was little sense in pointing it out now.

"Aww, I already got this one." Riley said, sitting next to Cali opposite their parents and disappointed by the prize in his kids' meal.
