Amarus had made it back to the board, after grabbing some food and hanging around the games like a weird lurker, and found out that she was slated to talk to someone named.. .Deacon? Why didn't she recognize any of these students? Well, this was the point, after all! It meant meeting a lot of new boils and ghouls, pretty evenly so far, in fact. Besides, she'd had a ton of fun with Neil, Muka and even some fun with Genora that time before... and plans to have tea with King, sometime.
By this point, Amarus was getting too sleepy to bother with her Scarentines goal. She sat down at Table 8 and tried to take it easy, sitting cross-legged, waiting for her new conversation partner.

[For the sake of Deacon being an (even more) awkward conversational partner, I'm sticking this in timeline before what's going on in the main event thread.]
Oh, great. Yuki really had signed him up. Deacon had been doing what he could to not socialize, but when he happened to glance up and see his name among the new pairs he groaned and decided to go through with it.
Why not. The ghoul he'd been admiring hated him. Might as well try to pick up another.
He actually had to pause to ask someone, quietly of course, which one of the students was Amarus. He didn't know everyone by name, and he honestly didn't entirely care to. Inwardly, he remembered the name tags at the dash dating event he'd been to and thought they would have been nice to have here.
Rather lazily dropping into the chair across from her after he scooted it out for himself, he managed a forced smile across the table to the ghoul. He knew he wasn't the picture of masculinity that he usually was. He hadn't had time to properly fuss with his looks, what with being all but dragged from his dorm to come here.
"I suppose you're Amarus, yeah? I've been told I don't socialize enough, so I guess that would be why I don't really know half of the people here..."

"It's...nice to meet you...um, Willow." Tugging out a chair, she sat at one of the closest tables, smoothing out the tablecloth in front of her. She hoped that someone had been able to fix the complete and utter mess she'd made of her first table. "Are you...a cat? Your tail is....it's so nice. I like cats." In hopes of reducing any creepiness of that, she offered a small, friendly smile that she thought she'd gotten better at throughout the night. The saying assured that practice made perfect, after all, right? (Claiming Table 9!)

"Nice to meet you as well Shine." Despite the crowd, being at the table wasn't as bad as being in the masses. Her tail flickered softly as she pulled out the other chair.
"Hmm... a type of cat I suppose you could say, I'm a tiger, Byakko - which is a ghost type." She explained, resting her arms on the table. "What about you?" She was curious as to what Shine was, while she could take a few stabbing guesses (pun maybe intended) she wasn't about to. The tigress came to learn about others after all.
She returned the friendly smile and thought nothing of any creepiness. It was nice to have compliments, even if it was on her tail.

A tiger! And a ghost! Shine was thrilled that she was able to meet both of these things all at once. She was able to resist asking to pet her - that would be kind of degrading, she thought. Friends weren't supposed to be pets, but pets could be friends. That distinction was important. "Byakko..." she repeated quietly. It even sounded more interesting than her species! "I'm um...well...a witch...zombie. Not...not the magic kind, though...just undead." Though she was trying her hardest to stray from conversation topics that were kind of odd, curiosity was getting the better of her. "What's...it like? Having a...tail? Being a ghost?" Talking with her last partner had proven that this wasn't the easiest question to answer, but she had to know. It was so similar to being a zombie, but...so different, all at once.

Moving away from her friend, Astra was now back in the main area, checking the board to make sure she knew the name of her partner. The name listed was "False", but she had never seen this boil, or ghoul, before. She could see the tables were starting to fill up pretty quick, so she decided that it would be a better idea to wait at one of them and hope that they would be able to locate her. She found a vacant table, Table 7, and preoccupied herself with looking at the skull that was seated there. She hoped it wasn't a minipet skull...

Astra? That was his partner for the event and after others had settled in he took a moment to quickly ask a few people who she was. Apparently a pixie of some sort or a fae? Tiny was the general rule of thumb so when he finally approached table 7 he wasn't all that surprised to find Astra waiting.
"They say staring is rude, what if our poor friend is sensitive about his lack of skin?" The reaper boil grinned easily as he took a seat, black robes and jacket adorning him along with his usual necklace, black stone with a red gem. "You're Astra correct? He offered a polite tip of the head, "I'm False and this-"
He was cut off as a cat hopped up onto the table tail curling around his paws purring. "Sharpie Fate at your service little miss. Ignore the boil I'm the charm of the duo."
"He's a liar and a cheat and he'll leak ink all over you personal belongings..." He rolled his eyes reaching over to pet the cat none the less, "If you want I can send him away I don't know if this whole meeting table thing is kosher for Familiars...."

Willow nodded as she listened to the other repeat her kind. She paused, a zombie huh? Her ears perked, "There's magic kinds of zombies?" She looked a little curious herself.
There was a pause, what's it like? the ghoul seemed to think on the question, "Well.... uh... having a tail is like..." The ghost paused, trying to figure out how to explain it. "Well it's pretty useless like this. Just kind of there and maybe sometimes it gets in the way... But when I'm in my natural form my tail helps my balance and stuff. So it's sorta useful in that aspect, but most of the time for me, it's just like having arms and legs." That probably wasn't the answer the other ghoul was looking for, but she hoped it would suffice.
"As far as being a ghost.... I guess it's like anyone else, except a little more see through." She shrugged, "I mean I guess the only odd thing I do really differently is that I can sorta sleep in places no one else can."
She paused, "What's it like to be a zombie?" The tigress decided to counter, "Can you do anything neat?"

"O..oh, no...um, no, I don't...think so...that I know of, at least...um, it's just...the same word..." Ashamed that she still hadn't quite nailed the explanation of her species, she hurriedly latched onto a new topic. "I don't...think its useless at all," she added softly, careful to stay polite with her tone. She intended it as a compliment - not a clash. "It's...um, lovely, like...the best accessory." That was probably not the way to consider it, but it fascinated her, something she would never be able to have. Unless she sewed one on...well, that was an idea. "Extra balance would...be nice. I'm...so clumsy...sometimes." Her eyes widened with wonder as she considered the potential of having more places to sleep. Was it just for sleeping, or...? "I...well, don't...really sleep much...but...for reading, are there places more....more quiet? Nice and quiet?" With a moment of hesitation, she placed her hands on the table for Willow to see. "Um, I...have scary claws...and witch zombies, well...maybe just me...I'm not sure...um, I can have sugar for...for extra energy...and go fast." She gave the ghoul a toothy grin, pleased with that ability. "Otherwise...not really. Loud noises...um, scare me...and I don't like...being around lots of people, so...so being a zombie...well. Sometimes it's not...so great." This was getting a little too depressing, and she didn't want her potential friend to think that she was just miserable all the time (in spite of how true it was). "What's...your favorite thing to do?" That was more sensible. Happy.

Astra wasn't waiting long, as she soon saw someone approaching her table. Another reaper by the looks of things, and he also had a familiar as well. When asked who she was, she nodded, eyes drawn to the cat whom had hopped onto the table. "Yup, I'm Astra, and it's a please to meet you both!" She couldn't help but giggle at the two's banter with each other. "Aww, is he really a liar?" She didn't seemed concerned with that at all. "And he leaks ink? How does he do that?" She asked False, then shook her head at his suggestion. "You don't have to send him away, I'm pretty sure familiars are allowed. My last parter had a giant snake!" She outstretched her arms. "It was THIS big!" Although the way Astra put it, it didn't look very big at all.

Willow chuckled, "Oh I see. It still sounds interesting."
Her ears twitched as she seemed to think and slightly blushed as the other mentioned that it wasn't useless. She chuckled, "Ah it doesn't really help on two legs, it pretty much gets in the way" She paused, "but extra balance is nice in some situations."
She paused, "Well it depends I suppose, around here not really. But it's easier to not be disturbed where I came from. Most don't bother with what they can't see." She stretched slightly, "It also makes haunting threats more.... interesting."
She watched as the other ghoul placed her hands on the table showing claws and tilted her head at the mention of the other able to have sugar to move faster. "Oh that's handy, being able to go faster is much more handy in certain situations." Her mind fluttered back to the haunted house. Being faster would be much more helpful. "You're not along in the dislike of lots of people." She shifted slightly, "I rather prefer smaller crowds myself, most of my kind does."
She smiled, not seeing anything wrong with it, "Sometimes being alone can be a good thing."
She paused, "Hm... my favorite thing to do, swimming probably. Um... learning about minipets and well others in general is good too, which is why I came here."
"What about you? What's your favorite thing to do?"

"Your home seems...really nice. I...um...wish I could remember. Mine, I mean." How pleasant it must be, having memories of a home that favored quiet and solitude. Having her reaction to sugar called "handy" made her smile and straighten in her chair. She hadn't really thought of it as something particularly useful before. "I...yes! I think...you're right. Mostly I've used it for...um...running...away..." She seemed a bit ashamed of this, but it was a perfectly solid tactic. Right? "Oh...really?" She seemed genuinely surprised that she'd found someone else who didn't like being around lots and lots of other students. Everyone else she'd met seemed to love it. Why had she thought that she didn't fit in here all this time? She wasn't too unlike her peers after all! Swimming. Shine had to think on that for a moment, expression going blank as she did her best to remember what that was. It had to do with water...and moving through it...and then the lightbulb went off, and she was back to normal. "Swimming! I've...I've never been...um, swimming...could...maybe you show me? Sometime?"

"A pleasure indeed," chirped the cat. All the while it shifted its paws getting comfortable on the table before settling down properly for a cat to watch her with a small grin.
"He doesn't always lie per-say, he just enjoys stretching the truth and twisting my words?" He paused at the ink question lifting the cat slightly so it could show off all four paws, grey fur dyed black and stained, a fresh coat seeming to glisten on his paws leaving prints where he was just standing. "FEAR actually, it just manifests as an ink which I use my FEAR to ignite into fire."
Setting Sharpie down False took a seat proper resting his arms on the table leaning closer to Astra, "You know I think I met him vaugely he was in a class I was in a few days ago actually. Seemed like a smart boil too."
Sharpie of course being a smart a** waved his paws to mimic Astra, "He might have a snake but have you seen a burning cat? Way cooler. Like so cool it's hot."
False only groaned, "Seriously we can dismiss him if the puns continue, that or I might set him on fire and throw him out a window or something..."

Stretching the truth? That was something that the fairy could admire, and also something she was trying to master herself. Because if she could do so, she would become a better lier, and of course, get away with more things. "wow..." Astra leaned closer to get a good look at the cats paws. They really did leak ink! "Thats amazing!" Astra replied. "So that means your a fire...reaper? Wizard?" She actually wasn't sure about how to classify him. At sharpies mimicry, the fae couldn't help but laugh good heartily. While False didn't seem to like his puns, she sure did. "B-but, whats happens if you set him on fire?" She then asked after she stopped laughing. "Would he really get burned?" She wasn't not familiar with how familiars worked, though if he said he used the cats ink to set thigns on fire, would that mean the cat would be affected by the fire?

"The proper term would by Pyromancer, but yeah a wizzard just one who specializes in fire specifically." Casually he laid his hands flat on their backs on the table, tilting the palms slightly towards each other, a small ball of fire flickering into existence between his hands.
Sharpie mean while thumped his tail happily, going on to explain more of what Astra asked, his blue eyes dancing with delight as he spoke. "Oh I catch on fire, I catch fire very well. It's a strange thing, I think it's because my FEAR is the fuel that I'm safe." He stood up pacing in a circle, before pressing a paw on False's wrist, the ball of fire suddenly flaring up larger before shrinking down when his paw moved away. "I give his flame the extra 'oomph' he does the controlling of how the 'oomph' goes down. Take one of us away, you lose the other half."
False of course grinned now, "As for burning cats." He raised a finger pointing towards Sharpie, the cat letting out a chuckle as his paws burst into flame before slowly rolling up and over his body. Consuming the cat but giving off no smell other then a faint sulfur and charcoal.
"Doesn't hurt and it kills the fleas!" The cat laughed again.
"The last part is such a blessing for a cat owner."
