Barth concentrated on his claws again. This time, the goo slithered out in individual globs and droplets, patches of color, with gooey teeth and awful, half-formed bodies. Miniature claws. What could be eyes, swirling and then gone again. Black, Green, Orange, Blue, Red.
They plopped in a malicious circle, different from the large, lumbering fellow that had protected Barth earlier. They waited.
"Get the red pendant from Ariane, and give it to Christof," Barth commanded.
They launched forward with frothing, colorful fury...then all collapsed in a useless puddle.
Barth was still working on that one. He'd almost had it that time.

No thoughts in Before's head for that moment. No words or silly phrases or mile-a-minute ramblings happening. The memory of Bee and Thor and Bix and Teeth and everyone being ordered to kill was threatening to overwhelm him.
So Before closed himself off further and simply attacked. Clarice had ordered them to treat Private Ryan like a potential partner but their potential partner was turning into a liability. "Should have kept the pendant on," he growled, hurling Vanna despite her having shrunk back to normal.

The creatures were working in packs, now - ganging up on each one of them and beating them until they were close to death.
Gale was not about to let that happen - not after his experience with the others, the ones that had ganged up on him before. Spinning sideways, he raised the rifle and took aim, letting the bullet find the nearest creature.

The hunchback and the kelpie had been bounced by the time Bix had landed. He was not feeling 100% right now but he wouldn't let himself stop. All of his team mates were still fighting.
The archer spotted Barth doing something disgusting. He couldn't hear all of his words clearly but he was pretty sure he heard the word Ariane.
"Nuh uh.." He stood up as straight as he could and formed another arrow. His forced concentration payed off as he nailed the demon with his shot.
