The Growlithe winced a little upon hearing his opponent slam into the rocks. Things hadn't exactly been going as planned. In fact, he hadn't even meant to hurt her...but for some reason it had happened. At first, it had seemed like she was dead and he was tempted to approach but then he heard a low noise. Then he saw the Mudkip's tail twitch and she began to rise and then... started dancing. Really?! What was wrong with this pokemon! She seemed focused on the battle once more at least in her own way. Everything was going fairly smoothly for her until she tripped. Over a rock. A temper seemed to rise before it faded. Maybe she had multiple personalities... or there was just something wrong with her head. Regardless as she was hugging the rock, he lunged forward. The sticky mud was sucking at his paws but he was aiming to grab ahold of the Mudkip with a Bite and then toss her back into the pond.

Pokemon: Growlithe
Name & Level: Sir Aiden von Fegefeuer der Wüstenhund [Sir Aiden the Desert Dog of Purgatory] , 3
[Temperament] Quirky
Stats:
HP:12/17/PP:20/ATK:10/DEF:8[9]/SPD:9/SP-ATK:10/SP-DEF:8
MOVES: Bite, Morning Sun, Howl, Flame Charge
EXP: 164/200
Held Item: Resist Feather
Bio: After Riku was journeying back towards the beginning of the island, she ran across a strange Growlithe. He seemed a little older and stranger then most pokemon they had encountered and yet not as violent. He challenged the pair to a duel and lost. Ryuu managed to knock him out with a powerful Bite attack, though luckily the pokemon was still barely conscious. With that, the pair were able to capture the Growlithe and he is a good addition to their team.

12 DMG

Mudkip HP:
-5

Once more the Growlithe's teeth would sink into moist flesh, and cold blood would wet the canines tongue. Again the Mudkip would fly far higher then one expected, rising high into the air.

">I R a Plane! I R a Bird!<" The Mudkip would call as she sailed through the air, flipping as she reached the peak of her ascent ">I R OVER 9000!!!!!<" She screamed with glee before plummeting towards the pond.

Right before striking the surface of the murky water, her final words would be ">So does this meen U don liek Mudkipz?<" After which she would pierce the surface of the pond...she would not return. It had been an odd battle....if one could even truthfully dub it as such...but it would seem Aiden had somehow won.

Riku was glad that in the end Sir Aiden had done well and succeeded in growing. His power was greater now. All her pokemon had done well and it was time to head back to the Professor. Each one was now a level stronger. She then motioned to Sir Aiden and then began to head back towards the Guard classroom.

Raven would enter the arena after a relatively short trek...something he was more then a little grateful for. There had indeed been a number of signs along the way. Along with those providing direction to the Pokemon Center and PokeMart.

Had it proven necessary to locate the place on his own, he feared not even a map would have saved him; and having a Flying-Type who could scout the area was of little use when the bird didn't know what the building was supposed to look like either...

Although, as that thought passed through his head, the boy would be prompted to call forth the Skarmory from his ball. Yes, he needed to train both Crowe and Requiem...but for the time being the Skarmory would be the first. Requiem had proven his might against an Onix, but the Steel-Type avian had saved him on more then a few occasions.

So it would be that a bright flash would briefly pierce the darkness of the Arena, and the boy would stand alone no longer, but with a fierce looking Skarmory at his side.

Pokemon: Skarmory [M]
Name & Level: Crowe, Lv 1
[Temperament] Quiet
Bio: Crowe was first encountered upon the second ring of Beginner Island amidst a crater. With wings that shimmered like steel, the bird no less landed upon the ground and challenged Raven to a duel directly. Battle fiercely against Genn, the conflict seemed to take an eternity as the two near immovable objects clashed. With a swift hand, Raven was able to throw a single PokeBall and capture the bird...with a slight chase soon to follow. Struck by the ball in the air, the capsule soon flew over the side of the crater, forcing Raven to pursue it by sliding down the side upon Genn's back. During the process of which the boy encountered a Sneasel...and soon both he and it were hanging off the crater by a branch. After a struggle and much dramatics, Raven was able to retrieve the ball, and save the little Dark-Type he had accidentally placed in a perilous situation. Since then Crowe has shown a strong sense of honour, reacting to nearly every battle as if it were a duel with that very thing on the line.

Shortly after the elimination of the Strike Student Trix's Meinfoo, Crowe too met oblivion at the hands of the girl's Magmar. His body burned down to cinders, an egg would form from the ashes due to the ability of Team Legacy's Guard Student. Reborn from the egg soon after, Raven gave him the same name he'd held in his previous life. Yet the experience of his death has changed the Skarmory. The memory haunts him, sending chills down his spine...the Skarmory has rarely spoken since the initial squawks at his rebirth.

Though he would get no further than the first doors before he would see that the second set were closed. A sign posted on them....(Currently closed due to infestation)

Which meant, there was no going in.

Though Raven was in a bit more luck than usual as a man with a hard hat on would be walking through the doors at that moment. He would stop as he looks at Raven and thumb back towards the sign.

"You aren't allowed to go any further, sorry, but the Mirage Arena is currently closed."

He would tell him.

The boy would sigh briefly, rubbing his temple. Of course, no one had bothered to send word ahead. With one hand resting upon the hilt of his sword, the boy would turn to face the man "I'm aware of the infestation" He would state rather calmly.

Well that was half true. He'd know there were Rattatta, though in truth he hadn't known precisely how many were about. Enough to be considered an infestation apparently...

Shoulders squared, the boy would speak in a calm, even tone "I've come from the Co-Op Class, I'm the...exterminator, so to speak" Raven stated, waiting patiently after for the man to digest the information. They had a problem, and the boy presented himself as the solution.

"Ah, so you are the one to take up the job aye." "Understood, but let me make this clear ....you might not win this easily .....there is a swarm of 10 or more Rattattas that need to be handled."

"They are chewing through the wires in the upper levels of the Mirage arena."

"I need you to go up there and deal with them." "Thanks to restricted space, it needed to be a student to do it, which is why we made the call."

The man would say. His manners changing completely the moment that he spoke those words of being here to help.

"come with me, I shall lead you to the stairs that will allow you to get to the upper levels. Be sure to not touch any of the wires ...depending on whether a Rattatta has touched them or not, you could get a nasty shock."

The man would tell ...him as he lead him on the way to the area. Stopping at the ladders that were folder downs from the ceiling. It would seem that Raven was about to get a chance to see another part of the Mirage Arena.

"And here I forgot my electricity proof gloves" The boy remarked dryly. Of course he owned no such thing...his cloak was fire proof, but that was only useful in the presence of actual fire. Sufficient to say, they didn't want any of those starting while he was up there...

Nodding briefly, the boy would recall Crowe before heading up the ladder. Doubtless the Skarmory would have had some difficulty with the climb, but further more he didn't want the bird's metal wings accidentally striking an exposed wire.

The boy would consider speaking further with the man, but ultimately saw no value in it. He knew both his destination and his mission, that was all he required. Anything else would be unnecessary prattling or speaking the obvious. Instead the boy would simply ascend to the upper levels and proceed forward as best as he was able.

The area he was in resembled quite a bit ....a ventilation shaft. It wasn't all that big around about 4 by 4 from ceiling to floor and from wall to wall, which meant that the taller you are the tighter that place was. For a 5 foot 5 or even a 5' 3 person that was a bit of a tight squeeze. Which meant that it was horribly uncomfortable for any one whom is fully grown, but for someone that is a still child and with the right pokemon this place was a bit of a breeze to say the least.

Yet, Raven would find that his first steps inside was anything but easy. A wire hung low near the entrance and upon arrival ...it would shock him hard ....as his back would brush it.

A pain that would spark all over his body for a bout a minute or more before it subsided as the wire slumps a bit further to the ground ....it was a live wire, but with that hit ....it would seem for the moment to leave him alone.

The sight of the bite of mice could be clearly seen on the wire in varies places.

Raven grunted slightly as he pushed the pain to the back of his mind; he'd experience worse...well, not really. In fact the electricity running through his body was a whole new level of agony. He'd need to put some consideration into putting some electric proof lining in his cloak...

As the wire slipped free and Raven was able to stand fully, an abrupt groan would escape his lips. Being that he was roughly 5'4, attempting to stand up straight resulted in immediately bashing his head against the ceiling. They warned him about exposed wires, but not a low ceiling?

First a grunt, then a groan, now a sigh would escape the boy's mouth. This was not his day...worse yet, this would be more then a tight squeeze for battling with a Skarmory....but he suppose he'd cross that bridge when he came to it.

For now all he could do was move forward, his heavy boots echoing loudly against the floor. He had little doubt the Rattatta would hear him coming a mile away...but that served him just fine. They had nowhere to hide...and if they ran...well, eventually they'd have to run out of the arena to flee; that would serve his purpose just fine...

Raven's movements would send vibrations over the ground ....and through the ceiling as indeed every Rattatta in the area would scatter. Running from him, he would make his way to the right corridor where the area would suddenly widen out to show a room full of chomp and broken wires. It is here with the occasional spark it was clear that a horde of Rattatta had come through ...though how long ago was hard to tell.

Though they had left some evidence if he was willing to check it out to answer her question.
PostPosted: Sun May 27, 2012 7:21 am

Raven scowled slightly as he surveyed the damage. He was beginning to wonder just how many Rattatta were lurking around up here...and how long this problem had been neglected simply due to petty reasons like size restraints.

Wandering closer to the scene, the child would crouch low. There was always something to be learned if one was willing to look closer. If not where the creatures had taken off to, then how many, or why they came here in the first place. Normally it was Pokemon such as Pikachu and Pichu best known for chewing wires; though Rattatta indeed carried their own bad reputation...

The pungent odor would hit his nose first. The sight of it ....drops...rat drops by the scores. Yes, maybe the problem was a bit underestimated, but then again ...rats are know for chewing up quite a bit. The end results of their passing is always a joy to know about as well ...as the boy if he chose to look even deeper would find something shiny in the midst of the poo.

Small and glinting faintly of gold ...there was really only one way to find out what exactly it was.
PostPosted: Sun May 27, 2012 7:46 am

Surprisingly, while the odour did invade the boy's senses, it would be briefly at best and to little effect. He wasn't immune to bad smells, and certainly the scent of a Grimer or Trubbish would still send him promptly in the opposite direction; but after years of sleeping in and around dumpsters or trash cans he'd grown somewhat accustomed to foul smells such as these.

That didn't mean he was any less reluctant to physically touch a Pokemon's leavings of course...but he didn't exactly have something to do it.....with.....

Briefly the boy would blink. True he worse gloves, but that would still leave a rather unpleasant smell on his hands no doubt difficult to remove...but why? True his sword would be overkill and disgraceful, burning it would create more problems then solutions, but had he not recently acquired something for just such an occasion? An event where both sword and Pokemon were too much?

Reaching for his sword-belt, the boy would slowly remove one of the Seviper Fang 'daggers' he'd fashioned. Insufficient for combat against a Pokemon, but poo? He was fairly certain it could handle the situation.

Leaning a bit closer then he'd like, the boy would slowly begin poking and scraping at the leavings which glittered, carefully trying to unearth whatever lay within.

He of course would never remark on the details of this segment of his adventure...

Though he would end up freeing it ...a key ...a small key that had on indication of where it might have come from. Though it was luckily not chew to bits as he could hold it in his hands now ...quite hold and stinky. This meant that it must have been swallowed whole by one of the Rattatas.

Raven receives mysterious key.
