(Bump.)
Neil opened the door of the office, and closed it behind him once Marie had entered. "Good evening, milady."

Marie followed Neil into the spacious office. Nothing had changed since the night before. "Hello Miss Anya. And hello Mahlah." Marie greeted. Having experienced what Mahlah was like the night before, Marie look off the necklace and the charm bracelet she had chose to wear that night and walked over to Mahlah. "Did you want to count these?" Marie asked kindly. She had actually been careful to choose jewelry that had a multiple of four within the design. The bracelet had 8 charms that hung along the length of it, and the necklace was a long bronze colored chain, with four bronze charms on the end. Turning back to Anya and Neil, Marie couldn't help but smile. "So...how shall we start the meeting. I could show you my plan for the painting...or perhaps you would like to give your terms first?"

Neil looked at Anya expectantly. "What do you think? Personally, I think it's best to let Marie decide."

Marie looked back and forth between Anya and Neil with a look of confusion on her face. "What did you want me to decide?" She asked, wondering what Neil was talking about. She could only assume it had something to do with their condition for letting her do the painting. She was just so anxious about what their condition would be that she wished they would just come out and tell her what it was.

"Well, obviously how the painting will be drawn." Neil smiled. "Mahlah, if you could leave us for a few minutes..." the vampire said, trying his best to seem as though he respected the dhamphir.

Sometimes, when Anya was thirsty for blood, she behaved very...oddly around Neil and Mahlah. One moment she could be hugging on one of them, talking like a doting, if somewhat possessive mother. The next she could be screetching out in fury, demanding that one of them bring her something to drink immediately. Sometimes she even got so sad, so sullen, moping about and moaning about how painful everything was. Truth to be told, one could hardly blaim her for the last bit, seeing as how quickly it took for any given Origin to 'starve' to death. Today, she started out all huggy with Mahlah, mutturing various sweet whispers of reassurance and praise. It quickly turned to a brief rage at the scent of the blood on his hands before becoming a total mope-fest, begging and pleading for the sweet red nectar of life. Upon feeling the approach of her Host and a human, she quickly straightened herself out, nibbling at the inside of her lip as she resisted the mighty urge to hold Marie down and feed from her right then and there. It took even more effort to keep from letting out such a hungry, desperate look.

Only the insane have strength to prosper...Mahlah wasn’t sure what to think when it entered to room and Anya was a constant rollercoaster of emotions, at least she wasn’t just pissed at it for its disappearance for an entire day. Starvation did funny things to origins, then again if one shrivelled up and died after not feeding for a few days then it could certainly see where such a range of emotions came from and what they were doing to the mind when it was already worried about not feeding. Mahlah’s mood reflected the strong emotion of desperation that Anya was feeling, it was just being projected in a different way. Mahlah needed the security of being around the origin, and other members of the clan. After the traumatic events of last night it needed to be close to Anya, after all, if it did end up going into another Frenzy, then Anya would be able to subdue and make sure that it calmed down before it was allowed to go elsewhere again. It pulled up a chair at the other side of Anya who was almost at the verge of tears as she mopped around and brooded into the top of the table at the desk. At least its presence was somewhat appreciated with the depressed Anya. It said nothing, respecting the silence of Anya’s thoughts as the conversation had been swallowed into the void. Mahlah was somewhat withdrawn itself, it too, was reflecting innerly at what transgressions had occurred, when Neil entered and demanded as politely as he was able to for Mahlah to get lost. Mahlah brought its hand to rest under its chin, propped up with an elbow on the table. ”No.” Neil could go and screw his hat and the ego that was under it. It just got here, and it was in need of company of its own kindred. It wasn’t going to be bullied by some arrogant full breed just because it wasn’t well like but it. It turned its head slightly to the left to look over its shoulder where Marie was in the door, smiling gently at it and offering some jewellery for it to count in order to calm a compulsion. It felt… so strange to have someone actually care for it outside of Anya. There was another too within the doorway, Mahlah tilted its head a little bit as it studied the man. It wasn’t comfortable with the presence of the newer face, but at the same time its mind was also consumed with other things rather that of being in the presence of someone new.
”Thank you, Miss Marie.” Mahlah replied with a polite quietness, it would do its best to make the other to not so put off with it. When it heard Marie ask about how she was going to paint before Neil seemed to fumble the ball and be passive with Marie when she was looking for direction. A wicked little smirk crossed its lips as it started to count the links in the chain of Marie’s charm bracelet. ”You could paint Neil like one of your naughty French girls, Marie… lord knows when Neil doesn‘t get his way he acts like a spoiled little princess…” Though the last part was mumbled, it was more having fun at Neil’s expense rather then being outright vicious about it like how Neil seemed to usually treated it. Now that it was with Anya, it had a little more courage to start getting back at Neil for that nastiness that was kicked at it fairly regularly. ...only those who prosper can truely judge what is sane.

Neil growled. "You insulting, insubordinate pig!" he shouted, grabbing Mahlah by the throat. "When I ask something of you, it is to be done without question!" His grip tightened.

"Oh of course." Marie said, reaching down into her purse, pulling out the small sketch book she had brought with her. "Actually I took the liberty of making some preliminary sketches. Just to give you both an idea of what I had in mind." She explained. While she was flipping through the book to the pages where her sketches for this painting her, she heard Mahlah's suggestion. She couldn't help but giggle at the idea. "That would be interesting. I'll draw it out and you can have it as a gift yes?" She knew it was likely not smart to be saying such things about a man who could possibly be giving her a commission, but it was all in good fun really. She hoped Neil wouldn't mind. All the while, she noticed how silent Anya was being. "If you don't mind me asking...are you alright Miss Anya? If your feeling ill, I'll understand if you wanted to reschedule."
The words had only just left her mouth when the sound of Neil's growl filled the room, and the next thing Marie know, Mahlah was getting strangled. "Neil!!" Moving by reflex more then anything else, Marie jumped forward, placing herself between Mahlah and Neil. She had her hand on Neil's arm. "Neil let go please! He was only joking I'm sure." Marie begged. What would cause him to act to rashly. "Neil please."
((Hmm....I wonder if there's anything sharp around for Marie to "accidently" cut herself on. >.< Could make things interesting. biggrin ))

(My razor-sharp wit, perhaps?)
Neil loosened his grip on the dhamphir. "Of course. Must have lost myself, a bit." He straightened his clothes. "Back to business, then." His fangs extended.

(( xp ))
Marie let go of Neil's arm the second he pulled away from Mahlah. "A bit? If that's that you call loosing yourself a bit I would hate to see you when your angry." She said with an exasperated tone. Never had she ever seen someone just...snap like that. At least not while sober. Neil seemed to recover from the episode fairly quickly, though Marie was still on edge. "Mahlah..are you alright?" She asked, seeing to that first before anything else. Looking back to Neil, Marie opened her purse and put the sketch book back inside. "Actually..perhaps it were best that we reschedule. It is quite clear that this is not a good time." She said as civil as she could manage. Some part of her mind was cursing her for giving up such an opportunity, but she wasn't going to stay in the company of a lunatic. "Miss Anya. I'll call you tomorrow if you don't mind. Hopefully we can find a time to meet alone" Marie placed quite an emphasis on that last word. She could still do the painting without Neil she was sure. She just would need to find another model. Marie made a turn for the door. But in her flustered state she hadn't been careful with the ring binding of the sketch book when she placed it in her bag, and while pulling out her hand the end of the wire ripped a long, somewhat deep scratch into her hand. "Jesus!" Marie muttered under her breath as she paused to inspect the scratch. A single drop of blood had seeped from the angry red line, and was trailing down her wrist.

That smell....! Marie's blood made Neil lose control, making him forget about the things Marie had said seconds earlier. The vampire grabbed Marie by the waist and threw her onto the desk. "Miss Anya! Mahlah! Restrain her!"

Only the insane have strength to prosper...That was a bad idea on Neils part. Something in Mahlah's mind snapped. It had to protect Marie, it had to make sure that she was alright, and it wasn't going to let someone as vile as Neil take what wasn't his. It fought back the Red rage, it fought with every fiber of its being not to lose control and put Marie in danger, it knew that it couldn't control that, and it knew that if it went into a frenzy right now that it wasn't going to stop until there was more blood on its hands. The veins around Mahlah's body darkened slightly as it stood up and grabbed the seat that it was sitting on. To hell with Anya, to hell with the clan itself. It wasn't going to let Marie suffer tonight, not after the kindness that it recieved by her hands. If it had to fight both a Consort and an Origin than so be it. Needless to say, all hell was going to break loose. "Take your Damn hands off her you filthy vermin." Apparently Neil had no pride as a member of clan, he was a savage barbarian and nothing more, he wasn't worth the blood that was placed in his veins and even though Mahlah wasn't one of the Consort, even though it wasn't a full blooded vampire, it had enough identity as one to know when the pride of the clan was being soiled. If Neil wasn't such a damn idiot then he would have exercised patience and restraint. It was really, really bad when the most competient of the bunch was a Dhampir. With Marie on the desk and being forced against her will left a really, really bad taste in the mouth of Mahlah, if Marie had been eased into it and if things went on a little more gently then Mahlah probably wouldn't have minded so much. Mahlah cared little about the backlash of what It was about to do, in its mind, it was going to restore dignity to the clan... the way that Neil was acting tonight was beneith their dignity. ...to protect the one person outside of perhaps Anya who care enough to be gentle with it. Mahlah prepared the chair that it was sitting on in the office, and looked hard at Neil. It wasn't going to allow him to take Marie like this, the poor thing was scared out of her wits and it wasn't going to stand for it. "Let her go Neil. I won't have you tarnish our name like this."..only those who prosper can truely judge what is sane.
