Looking up Fick raised his eyebrows again and grinned, recognising the scar-faced new apprentice easily. "Well well, looks like I'm not the only one up early, hu?" He wasn't actually sure of her name and she probably didn't know his either, but by his comment she might well at least be able to guess his profession.

Groaning, Z'el wiped the sweat beading along his forehand before bending down to search through more sand. The sun was brutal today. At least Challiath was probably enjoying that, and even now he was probably sunning himself somewhere. The rider grinned at the thought.

Hearing the comment from Fick she guessed the other was working with Whers too. It was an assortment of people out looking. It almost seemed like a small gathering just to search for flit eggs.

Looking back down at the sand, Fick scanned for anything that looked out of place, be it raised or sunken. Maybe if he tried to be more critical about this, less random.

Janeallia was still walking toward the safer path when she noticed someone she'd seen around and had been worried about, but never had the chance to talk to her. The tall woman walked towards Ashmere and squatted beside her,
"Hey do you need some water? You look a bit worn out?"

Ashmere glanced up towards the boy wearing a new found smile. Well at least there was one friendly face, granted she didn't know his name but she did vaguely recognize his face. "Hey there, fella." She covered her lack of knowing his name with a sly grin. "I am used to being up early. Good to see you here."

Digging into the sands again the former-harper glanced up at the friendly voice that sounding beside her. "Oh? Oh sorry I didn't see you there--- um water--- that would be good, thank you--- if it isn't t-t-t-to much of t-t-t-trouble. Miss. Oh...right, Ashmere by the way- Thank you so much."

Phro was spraying water out of her mouth and slapping the water, trying to get Rikki's attention and succeeding. Jogging to the water till it was waist high, Rikki looked at her companion. A clicking noise came out, "Found egg, male found egg!" Giggling, Rikki turned to look at the beach. "It does appear that way, Phro. Now off with you so I can see if I can get us one."

"Brilliant f'you," said Fick in friendly tones that belied the blunt words, "I like my sleep, but Ficksk was scraping her claws down the wall since almost sun-up. Oh, yea, I'm Fick by the way, and welcome to the trade an'that." Another one grown out of dragon-standing from what he gathered poor girl, nobody deserved to have their dreams taken away. Still, she'd be happy once she had her wher, he was sure. Oh the beasts could be a pain of course and could get into trouble and all kinds of things but in the end they were your wher, and while they weren't matched to your soul like a dragon was supposed to be they were like... like... well whers. He didn't know how to put it even inside his own head.

Shuffling through more sand, Z'el was just about to move on to more when something bright caught his eye. Oh hey, he had found the clutch! He had almost bypassed it, since searching through the sand and then quickly moving on was what he had previously done. Grinning, Z'el plucked the Purple/Blue swirled egg from the sand, figuring it deserved a home with him since it was the egg's bright colors that had caught his attention.
Looks like we're going to have a new friend... Z'el said to Challiath as he moved off, cradling the egg in his hands.

Wykla quickly tried to hush her happy and excited firelizards. They were making such a rackous. "It's just a little eggs guys." Silly flits. Still she smiled. Instead of leaving, the girl walked behind her two companions. Hoping they'd find eggs themselves too. She spotted Ashmere and gave a wave. "Ashmere! hey!"

Jane unstopped her water skin, pulling the cork out with her teeth for she was still cupping the egg to her.
"Sure no problem."
she handed the other woman the water and said,
"I'm Janeallia, nice to meet you."
she turned to the young man and said,
"there is plenty of water left if you'd like some too."

The water on her legs let the sand stick even more so on her, but it was no bother. It scratched the itches that were starting in some of her scars. There was some good coming along from this search. She looked at Fick and Wykla, they might become friends of hers, though how well with Fick would depend on the hours.
