Astrayl decided to sit down for a minute and relax. Walking around the village can be a little tiring. A whisperer is suppose to act proper wherever they go and that even includes among their own people. It was a lame rule but something that Ren's mother taught Astrayl a long tie ago. "Well teacher, I think that your child will do very well in the future." He was looking up when he spoke then he looked at Ren. She was still greeting some of the other villagers. It made him smile to see her get along with everyone else so well. "Hey Ren when we are done lets head back to the main house. We will finish the day with some more training. It will be fun, right?" He smiled as he showed her his hand and made a strangling motion with it to remind her of earlier.
The old bear was soon at the Drayce estate. "Well that *hic* didn't take very long." He took a swig from his cup of wine and smiled. Then he saw the giant dragon spirit and only laughed. "haha oh if it isn't my old friend. Maybe I should go say hi." Then he remembered that he still has to deliver the message to the Drayce whisperer. He saw the whisperer and appeared in front of her using his super speed. "Hey there *hic* oh wait." He smiled as he started to speak in the dragon's tongue instead. "Hey I come bearing *hic* haha bearing. I come with a message from *hic* Astrayl. Hey I heard you two are getting married. Is that true?" He smiled as he took another swig from his cup.

Shira was getting ready to hold court for the day when the second wave of wolf spirits returned with the news that the Ram Whisperer and Apprentice had received their invitations and would be attending the New Moon Festival as well. Shira smiled and thanked each of the wolves in turn, then let them leave to frolic with their corporeal friends. She still hadn't seen hide nor hair of Reen, and it was nearly noon. Holding court so that Wolf clan citizens might come ask for aid of any sort was one of the Whisperer's duties, and as such an important part of her nephew's training. Shira called a maid over and told her to find her Apprentice and notify him that he was needed in the great hall. The maid nodded and hurried off.

Ren glared at Astrayl for only an instant before returning her attention to the villagers she'd been talking to. Of course she remembered what he''d done to signal the end of that morning's training. Her throat still felt raw. She said goodbye to the villagers and turned to her cousin. "All right, then," she said sweetly. "Let's go."

Marnie thought about what Dragana had said and figured the soil erosion could still mostly be prevented by aeration after the rain - and it would help the water table for a large area surrounding the city...She watched Dragana walk ahead of her and had only just realized she should probably go catch up when, faster than she could see, a massive bear holding a tankard appeared in front of the other whisperer.
Blinking in surprise Marnie looked up to the greater dragon to see if he was at all concerned. Noting the dragons ambivalence and at his slight nod, she walked quietly forward to stand behind her cousin. Only in time to catch a hiccup.
Suddenly the bears weaving stance made a bit more sense and Marnie got to wondering what was in that cup. Yet it was to her credit she didn't let the appearance of an apparently drunken bear taint her respect for the bear clan...after all a bear was still a ..bear.

With nothing else to do at the moment, and Theo inside responding to the daily horde of letters he received, Addie milled around his house, sitting laxly on the front steps, watching the spirit rams and sheep graze or walk about. She didn't really feel like going back to her parent's place. Who was ever eager to return to work? Not even Theo was. She was pretty sure he was trying to avoid his duties as Whisperer, even though the Bramwell Whisperer didn't really have all that much to do. They followed a more democratic form of government, with the Whisperer having a bit more privileges than the average official. That way, all the responsibilities wouldn't be heaped onto the Whisperer, and everybody got a chance to have their say.
One of the spirit rams broke off from its herd and loped up to Addie. "Addie! Why do you have that... dead look on your face?"
Bramwell Whisperers and Whisperers didn't really have spirit counterparts or companions, but if they did, then Aldin was Addie's. He was considered quite young in his world, his horns nearly reaching adult size.
Addie smiled at the transparent goat, and raised a finger to tap his nose. Being practically made of air currents, her hand went right through the spirit ram. He felt like cool mist, like the air at dawn. "Just enjoying the weather." And ditching field work, she added as an afterthought.
Aldin sat beside Addie, staring up at the partially cloudy sky above them. "Is this considered nice weather? You should see how it is back home. Like the skies of heaven, compared to this."
"Now, Aldin. Are you trying to make me jealous?" Addie said laughingly. His comment made her curious. What exactly did their sky look like? She'd seen a glance, for maybe a second or two, hardly long enough to get a good long look...
"If she ever sees the skies in your world, Aldin, I don't think she'll ever be content with this ever again," said Theo lightly, coming up behind them. He sat down beside Addie and gave her a knowing look. There it was again, the mother-henning that Addie always strove to get away from. She returned the smile to hide the pout that was coming on her face. "It is nice weather, though. Just the type that makes you want to drop everything and lay back. You just can't get any work done in this type of weather."
It bothered her how easily he was able to see through her.

(My mom just showed me this hilarious you tube video with a couple baby sheep in it, it was hilarious, I guess one of the girls watching them, got down on all fours to play, and lowered her head to play headbutt, and man you should have seen that little guy jump around after. They couldn't stop laughing.)

Cruel dark clouds loom just above the bow and the torrential rains begin to fall Lightning and thunder hack up the sky with blazing blades As dragons fight to win the night
Dɼagaɲa Єadgyσ Dɼaycє ((Can you post the link? I'd want to see that.)) :We have a guest, Dragana. Prepare yourself: The giant dragon's private thought to her had overtones of exasperation and amusement. It took all of Dragana's considerable skill at masking her thoughts and feelings with graceful poise not to jump and call the dragons to immediately attack the drunken bear when it appeared. He started out growling, but almost immediately switched gears, and made himself understood. His tone was oddly deep and flat compared to the dragons' more musical voices and he seemed to elongate the R's, but she understood him well enough. "Yes, Astrayl is my fiance now. What is the message?"She ignored the alcoholic fumes emanating from the bear's fur that mingled with his natural powerful musk. Despite the bear's drunken and seemingly foolish appearance, he'd managed to slip by her sentries on the border. Had it not been for the older dragon's warning, she would have been caught completely by surprise, and thus would have revealed a weakness. Well played, Astrayl, but I am not about to let you gain the upper hand so easily.

Astrayl laughed a bit at his apprentice. It was a little surprising to see her detest him a bit but then again he did use a brutish move on her. 'Next time I should probably go easier on her. I could have broken her neck if it wasn't for the metal around her neck.' He smiled again for a split second as he waited for her. "Alright Ren, back to the main house for dinner then a run through of your nightly exercises. Understand?" Without waiting for an answer, Astrayl began to walk towards the main house. When he got there, both Ren and himself got the usual treatment from the housemaids and butlers. First they were greeted with the normal welcome. "Welcome back Master Astrayl, Master Ren." Then they were greeted by the elders, who all seemed rather happy for once. The elder of finances began. "Astrayl we are so happy that the proposal went well. I can just imagine all that money." Before the elder could say something else, Astrayl already walked past him and the others. 'I don't feel like dealing with them.'
The old drunken bear looked at Dragana and smiled. "Hahaha that's good *hic* that you two are getting married. We of the bear spirits *hic* we worried for that *hic* that boy. We thought he would never find a girl." He smiled and had more of his win before looking at the giant dragon in the sky. "How you doing old friend. Want some *hic* wine?" Without even looking he dropped the cup into his opposite hand and grabbed another cup from his fur. Then his head perked up. "Oh wait I was suppose to deliver a message. Hold on." The old bear looked through its fur till it found a piece of paper. "Alright Astrayl says that his mother. *hic* Haha that woman is crazy. Astrayl's mother would like you to come to the *hic* bear estate within *hic* the next three days. *hic*" He put the piece of paper away then looked at Dragana. "I would say you could skip out on this *hic* and enjoy yourself. But *hic* Astrayl's mother is the *hic* head of the Algernon house. That women *hic* doesn't like the word no. If you refuse I will say this *hic* she might cancel the wedding or worse." He smiled then looked back at the dragon.

Ren followed Astrayl, staying far enough away that he couldn't reach her easily should he try something else. She raised an eyebrow at her cousin's brisk dismissal of the elders and shrugged as she passed them as well.

Marnie took this moment to back a step away from Dragana, to let her think in privacy and to get the added benefit of being able to ask the great dragon her question in private.
She tilted her head back, as he was floating demurely about 50 feet off the ground and coiled over an acre or so of the sky. She took her hands from behind her back to wave and get his attention before beckoning him a little closer.
"Is it very hard to learn the other animals languages?" She asked; deciding to start off coyly. Dragons could always appreciate a round about discussion, so long as it was clever.

Dɼagaɲa Єadgyσ Dɼaycє The large dragon looked down at the bear and said No thank you, friend. We were in the middle of a training session, and it sets a bad example to drink in front of the apprentice. Some other time, perhaps. We do have a wedding coming up, after all. We can embarrass the Whisperer couple with our singing.Dragana mouth twitched downward for a fraction of a second. This was an interesting development. One thing she hadn't thought she would run into with marrying Astrayl was imperious in-laws. She'd been under the impression that the Bear Whisperer was in control of the Algernon house, much like she was with the Drayce house. Everyone important knew Dragana held the reins, but pretended otherwise since it was considered inappropriate for the Whisperer to hold so much power publicly. After her uncle's demonstration of precisely why that was, Dragana had been content with leaving her parents as figureheads, irritating though they were. Either Astrayl is an extremely dutiful son, or he doesn't hold as much power as I originally thought. Interesting.Dragana already knew what she was going to do. She would visit, of course. It was a wonderful opportunity to find out just how much power Astrayl held. Her entrance, though, would have to be timed just right, sending the message to the future mother-in-law that the Dragon Whisperer was not going to be intimidated by her and followed ultimatums purely on whim. "Very well. You may tell Astrayl to expect me, then. Thank you for bringing the message."The dragon drifted downward a little bit as Marnie beckoned, and a little smile quirked the corners of his mouth. It depends. Can you howl like a wolf? Or baa like a ram? Roar like a bear?

Marnie normally wasn't this quick, but the response just came to her. "Oh, I'm sure I could manage something," she paused.."But I'm positive my accent would be horrible."
"I bet the other whisperers would have a greater learning curve learning how to speak Dragon." she pointed out. "After all what sound does a dragon make?"
Technically she knew the sounds they'd all learned to associate with the other whisperers animals weren't exactly proper. But at least she'd heard them before. Dragons were mythical after all.
Marnie knew they roared occasionally, but when the dragons spoke, it just sounded ..well, like plain Deonian to her. Though they had much nicer voices than the average person.
She wondered if she didn't speak back to them in Deonian ...she thought she spoke normally.
So she asked. "Do I speak dragon? Or do you speak Deonian?" She posed.

Astrayl looked at Ren as they re-entered the training yard. "Alright Ren, this is the last workout we are going to do today then you will move on to conditioning until it is time for bed." Astrayl got into a fighting stance but looked more defensive then anything else. "I want you to attack me with everything you have. Keep going until it feels you can't attack anymore. Don't hold back and actually try to kill me." The bear whisperer had a serious face as he finished giving his orders. Most people would kill for a chance at Astrayl like this so he decided he might as well see how far she would take it.
The bear spirit looked at the girl and smiled. "It was my pleasure." He stood up then crouched. "Well *hic* later then. I will get this *hic* message to Astrayl asap." With that, the bear spirit sped off at impossible speeds. It wasn't long till he was at the boarders of the Bear territory.

Dɼagaɲa Єadgyσ Dɼaycє Dragana interrupted Marnie's conversation with a wave beckoning her over. "Sorry, cousin, but I'm going to need you to come along while I prepare for my journey." With a dip of her head to the large dragon, she added, "This language lesson may be continued at a later time."Together, they went into the house and Dragana began giving orders. Servants began hurrying to do her bidding, and Jonathan appeared at her side with pen and paper to write down instructions concerning financial affairs to later be delivered to her father. In between, she would stop and explain her orders to Marnie, occasionally challenging her to figure out the reasoning behind them. Finally, with preparations well under way, Dragana stood with Marnie in the hall that led to their rooms. "Go change into clothes suitable for bad weather. We must take care of this storm before I leave to meet with my fiance's parents, and I want to make sure it doesn't get out of hand while I'm away."Her apprentice hurried off, and Dragana ducked into her room, nearly tripping over one of the cats that decided to greet her with ankle-twining. She stopped long enough to stroke its head, then moved to the bed where her storm-working clothes had already been laid out. There was a heavy tunic made of felted wool that fitted closely, with equally close-fitting pants of a tough, dense weave of several different sturdy fibers. Tall, waterproof boots stood nearby, with thick socks of knitted wool laid across the tops. She dressed quickly, and brushed her long hair out before braiding it into a single, neat tail. She soon stood waiting by the front door, holding a waterproof cloak with a rain cowl on one arm and waiting for Marnie. When the girl made it downstairs, Dragana walked outside and whistled piercingly. Two dragons, each as large as two horses, spiraled down out of the air and landed, dancing a little in excitement. The Dragon Whisperer turned to her apprentice and grinned. "Take a guess as to where we'll be watching the storm from."

Jumping gee-whillikers batman!__________________________________________________________________________________________ ~Marnie~
"Ah, yes cousin. Farewell!" She said throwing a large wave to the great dragon while her hair blew across her face yet again.
She followed Dragana inside and stooped to pet the friendlier cats as Jonathan and the servants packed more clothes than she knew a person could wear in a few days. All while deftly evading a trodden tail.
When her cousin sent her off to get changed she was well surprised at how heavy the gear was. It looked nice and warm though. She's only managed the breeches socks and boots before she realized she'd better do her hair if she wanted to be able to finish without being drenched in sweat.
She took her time and did a braid that took up all the wispy bits in front and curled along the side a short ways. She tied the rest half up and then again at the nape of her neck, almost sure none of it could escape that way. Essentially it was a ponytail, something her mother hated, but Dragana was waiting no doubt.
Quickly Marnie pulled on the gloves, that oddly enough only covered her pinky and ring fingers, and extended all the way up her forearms. They felt rather tough...But secretly she thought they were really cool. Shrugging she pulled on a shirt, than the tunic and picked up her cloak. Almost tripping on the stairs before she learned how to drape it properly.
She found Dragana whistling dragons outside and quickly came to a stop beside her.
Marnie's eyes rounded and she almost started prancing herself at Dragana's question. She clasped her hands in front of her and dared to ask "From above?!"
