Normally Katherine would resent having to show weakness in front of a crew member, especially a slip of thing like the one now questioning her, but irritation had swept normal boundries away.

"You'd think there'd be a decent watering hole somewhere between here and Antigua, but no. Every single one has been raided by that damn navy in the last six months. Nowhere is safe for an honest pirate these days."

She sighed. Gave up. Growled. Picked up an ornate dagger and threw it at the map. It landed in an area marked as deep water.

With another, louder growl, Katherine picked a smallish island about two days travel from their current position.

"There. Should be clean water, at the least. I'm sure we can find some fruit or even a roasting bird or two there."

"Hopefully there is at least some drinkable water, I think we have enough food held out for five or so days, but that is just a rough estimate." Rachel pulls the dagger from the map.

"Yes that navy has been taking over many places that 'honest' pirates use, Unfortunately even with the number of pirate ships, all of them combined dont come anywhere close to being able to outnumber them..." Rachel goes over and places the ornate dagger on the table.

"Maybe you should let your stress out on something, just dont chose me to take it out on... But with that I should go and see how Gabriel is doing, he has been rather overjoyed since I let him pass my tests..." Rachel goes through the Captain's door to find Gabriel.

Let her stress out on something? Katherine was intrigued. What a marvellous idea, and what a pity the girl had slipped out the door before she'd had a chance to act on it.

Ah well, she had a ship full of angry pirates with which to practice stress relief. It was just a matter of finding the closest one...

It was unfortunate for Nicolas that he passed right past the site of the captain that very moment. He wouldn't know it, but Captain Kruel was searching for someone to release her frustration upon and with his snarky attitude, he was probably the best target.

Crossed arms and wandering eyes scanned over every young woman on the ship. Since both Gabriella and Aurora had left, however, he did not have as many to google over. He silently wondered where Jamie was and whether or not she might be up to a romp in the cabins. He was feeling curious enough to even ask.

It was getting dark, so determining the gender of the figure that swished past her was a little difficult - not that it mattered to Katherine all that much. The important part was that he was on two legs and within grabbing range.

With confidence born of owning the only solid surface in sight, the captain approached the lithe young man with a smirk already on her face. "Care to share a drop of rum in my cabin?"

Purposely stepping into his personal space, she leaned in close so that her meaning could be clear and waited for an answer.
PostPosted: Thu Mar 30, 2006 1:41 pm

The words sounded sweeter than the rum itself to the young man's ears. Thinking them over for only a moment, he smirked and responded carefully, "But of course-" And upon getting a better look at the woman before him, he realised it was the captain herself! Nearly in disbelief that the head of the ship would be so forward with a measly cabin boy, he became slightly suspicious of her actions. He would need to be careful within her chambers and make sure it was not some sort of a set up. "-Captain." He finally finished.

As he waited for her response or lead towards her cabin, he watched her form and tried to determine whether she had been busy with the bottle already. If that was the case, it could easily explain her behavior. As lust hungry as Nicolas may have been, he knew his place on the ship and knew the trouble it could cause, or possible promotion if he played his cards right, if anything came between the two of them.

Katherine nodded absently, as if there had been any question about him refusing her. She wasn't quite as young as she used to be (or was she?) but the dark eyed captain could still attract an offer or two in the worst of times.

She started back towards her cabin, not feeling the need for further conversation and not bothering to check if the lad was following. When she was once again in the dim but spacious interior of her cabin, she reached for the not-very-secret rum stash.

Glasses were an option, but not one Katherine often chose. So, after one long swig from her favourite flask, she offered it to the ship's boy behind her.

Nicolas had, in fact, been following after his captain, a hungry look in his eyes. As he walked behind her, he looked about, almost checking to make sure none of the other crew members noticed him leaving with their captain. As little as he cared about their opinions, he did not want to start problems this low in position.

As the flask was offered to him, he quickly smirked and grabbed it lightly, not too eager as to scare her off. Tipping the flask into his own mouth, he took a swig and enjoyed the bitter taste on the way down. It had been too long, during the week or two at sea, since the man had filled his own flask. He would make a point of it to grab a flask or two while in town on their next visit. After his swig, he returned the flask to Catherine and continued to smirk.

Katherine watched the young man raise the silver flask to his lips, slanted moonlight picking out the smooth angles of his neck and turning the simple action of swallowing into a sensuous motion of pure beauty.

She followed the trail of blue light across his features she noticed what an exceptional choice she had made, congratulating herself as the moon highlighted a smooth brow, a princely nose, gloriously high cheekbones, delicately pointed ears.

She paused, rum fogged mind taking a moment to process the evidence before her. Pointed ears? The captain took a step back.

"Elf." The single word rang in the dim cabin jarringly. "You are an elf!"

Katherine wasn't sure whether it was the anger or embarrassment in her voice that caused that terrible look to flit across the elf's face, but she turned away quickly so as not to see the results.

Nicolas had heard clearly was the captain had said, but the comments bothered him not at all. It would take far more than the shock of finding out he was an elf to bother him. In fact, he did not even attempt to hide his pointed ears while on deck. It seemed thus far he had run into no problems, but now that the captain had found out, things were bound to change. That was.. unless he could change them first.

Taking another step towards Katherine, Nicolas continued to smirk. His pale, masculine hand reached down to gather her own and bring it up to his lips. For a moment the male took in the captain's scent, keeping it in mind for a short moment before his lips met the top of her hand. So politely, so gently, he kissed and once he was done, he cast away her hand slowly.

Returning to his upright posture, he spoke calmly, "Yes, m'dear. I am an elf, though it is nothing I could ever shame myself in admitting." And after he finished speaking, he turned and began in the opposite direction of the captain's chambers. Turning his head, he quickly added, "Rest well on your own..." Though it nearly pained him to walk away, it was the best he could do to save his pride. Katherine clearly had an issue with his race.

The captain wasn't fooled by the elf's good manners, everyone knew elves were sneaky creatures who used their charms and good looks as a smoke screen while they robbed you of everything you held dear.

This was a fine trait for a pirate to have, but not so much in a lover with access to one's most secret treasures. It was with this in mind that Katherine could cooly ignore the brush of lips and the following departure.

Just before the elf reached the door, Katherine made a quick decision and tossed a red scarf at him.

"Use it to cover your ears. I don't want you causing any more trouble aboard this ship than you already have."

Not waiting for a reply, the captain turned and began undressing for bed. They had a busy day ahead of them, with no time to fume over disappointments.

Slipping from the railings back onto the deck the petite woman eyed the ocean and the long departed spanish ship they had overtaken. Jamie now leaned on the banister, elbows perched comfortably, head resting near them as she conciously stuck her rump out in an attention grabbing manner. One couldn't see fully under her skirt, though it was close as she shifted her legs, tights clinging to her form.

She rubbed her bruised wrists again, staring at the purple marks where her enemies hands had firmy gripped her. She let out a small laugh, shaking her head and he newly braided hair. Those damn men. Her sky blue eyes narrowed as she remembered them releasing the thick wavy hair she normally kept tame in a braid.

It had taken some time to put it back into place, even now more hair hung in her face than before. It grew quickly and her once straight cut bangs had already begun to grow. They split slightly, framing her facial features with grace. With a soft breath Jamie blew a hair from her vision and stood upright, resting a hand on one of her curved hips. She turned now, Ms. Gallows heading in no particular direction upon the deck. Her heels clicked softly as she walked and she gave a few pirate aboard small smiles.

Nicolas had heard the captain's words, though he could only stop, back facing Katherine, to think. It did not bother the male to think of the entire ship disapproving of him. It would only cause a serious problem in his future plans if the captain remained angered with him. Despite his pride, he calmly reached down to grab the scarf. Whatever he did choose to do, he would keep the scarf with him in case it ever came in handy.

As the man continued to walk, beginning now towards his own cabin, the site of a beautifully curved backside caught his attention. Having previously been disappointed, he hoped this woman would prove to be far more entertaining. It had seemed, as of yet, she was not bothered by his race and it's obviously pointed ears. Tucking the bandana into his pocket, he silently decided it couldn't cover their anyhow.

Nicolas approached Jamie now, grin tactfully replaced onto his face and slim figure leaning back onto the banister beside her. It seemed he hadn't moved fast enough though, for the female had already turned in the opposite direction. With a quick whistle, he remained where he was and waited for her to turn around. As he watched in waiting, he admired how beautiful the lass really was. It seemed the sea had done her good.

Jamie heard the whistle, though didn't stop instantly. She slowed to a stop and remained with her back facing the male. She gathered herself, taking a breath as she wondered of how and where this conversation was going to go. She was slightly worn from the recent battle and simply needed to rest a bit. Rum. Yes, that would sooth all aches and pains. As she decided this she turned smoothly, a delicate hand reaching towards her face to wipe her bangs from her light blue eyes, yet they fell softly back into place as her hand lowered.

" Well, I see you escaped battle nearly unscathed. " A sly smile graced her full lips and she turned fully to face him. She had not gone far from the banister and so began to take slow steps, allowing her hips to sway as she back in his direction. " And did the Captain award you? " She slightly teased, having spotted him following Captain Cruel not to long ago.

Once more Jamie leaned on the banister, though this time with one elbow, her form turned towards him as she tilted her wide hips. She glanced him over, raising a brow in a slightly curious manner, before looking back to his practically flawless face. There was something different about the male. Something attracted her and she couldn't pinpoint it. The way he carried himself, the smooth voice, his graceful movements. Still, Jamie was puzzled. What was it?

Nicolas could easily keep himself from blushing, though it was something that he had learned early on from growing up. It was difficult to be a pirate if you allowed your emotions to be too visible upon your sleeve. Still fully embarassed about the comment on the reward, Nicolas realised that the lady he often thought about had seen him following their Captain, only moments before. "There shall be no reward for the evil," He laughed, though what he meant was uncertain. His laugh did not sound fully convinced of his words and was more than likely going to only make Jamie uncomfortable.

Leaning back once again and looking straight ahead, the male continued to speak. From this angle, the long edge of his ear could be seen perfectly well in the darkness. Being an elf, his skin was quite fair and stood out like a sore thumb in the night sky. Turning his head towards the woman now, he spoke, "Have you better thoughts of the night than to follow me to my chambers?" He asked, voice serious and somewhat enchanting. It was not heard of for a gentleman to ask a woman such a question, it was uncommon for a male to bring up the subject, but it was expected from a pirate to ask once or twice.
