Eta 7 blinked in surprise as the remaining mist cleared, and many of the smoke monsters dissipated. As she had started to expect, the remaining ones resolved into figures dressed like her; she recognized the blue-accented Eta Squad uniforms, and another set, with olive accents. She looked down to find that all she was holding was a shiny rock. Well, that wouldn't be much use. She dropped it to the ground, then looked towards a new voice.
She wasn't expecting to see the giant horse from before, now brought down to a more reasonable size. The thing spoke, and she frowned a bit. An extra medkit? That would definitely be useful.
She clearly wasn't the only one who thought so, though, and as others rushed towards it as well, she backed up again. She wasn't hurt very badly, not really. She looked around, suddenly hit with uncertainty, and saw several of her squad-mates returning to their tent. She decided to do the same, following them back towards relative safety.

Eta Nine was starting to realize that this was all just pointless. If she was dying, was she even trying to do any of this? She hadn't found the pendant (all she had discovered was a rock and it was still clutched in her fist), she hadn't found the medkit, she hadn't really done anything of value or bravery or awesomeness. The horse hadn't died, damn him, the smoke monsters hadn't even been real and they'd kicked her a**, and she was on the sprawled on the ground slowly ebbing away. This wasn't at all what she thought death would be like. Eta Nine had expected it to come swiftly in the form of a giant hoof crushing her, or a bullet to the head. But no, she was painfully suffering, and would have to wait for however long for death to take her. Things sure were quiet near the end...
Quiet? Eta Nine lifted her head from the ground, turning her head to view the surroundings. All of the smoke monsters, including the two who had been attacking her, were gone. Did this mean things were over? She painstakingly moved herself into an upright position, wincing as the movement pushed even more blood from her wounds. Her thoughts wandered to the first-aid kit she had received upon first awakening. If she could get off this battlefield, and into the relative (?) safety of the Eta home base, she might have a chance of survival.
Her mind set, Eta Nine stood to her feet after checking to make sure her dagger was stowed safely in her belt. Breathing deeply, she started to limp the long, hard distance back to the dark blue Eta tent.

Whelp it certainly wasn't a pendant that he now had in his hands and it certainly wasn't a medkit either. It looked as though Gamma X's luck just kept going lower and lower on the scale but he wasn't about to let it ruin his mood; he could use all this to tell others how he'd survived something amazing. If anything this whole episode of coming out and dealing with the Hell-Horse only made excellent fodder for the person who enjoyed telling stories.
Or at least he assumed he liked telling stories. Being unable to remember anything made it pretty hard to get along. At the very least though he had a group of people in the same boat so perhaps his exaggerations could just move along and get him where he needed to go. To do that he had to get back to the base camp though and so he lifted himself up (and his rock as well) and limped back towards the base camp. It was time to share some stories and maybe garner some pity.
He hoped for pity.

There was so much confusion, so much noise, and so many monsters. Eta IV was having a hard enough time focusing on the reality of this unreal situation without factoring in giant hell horses and Kate who made her think in terms of television and movies. Was she really so goddamn impressionable? Huh. Maybe she was. Maybe she was the kind of person who did what other people did to feel accepted. Maybe she dressed in pink on specific days of the week and never wore sweatpants. Did that sound like her? She pondered this, dropping to the ground out of reflex when the firepony spoke again. Eta IV tried to scramble for the pendant, tried to feel out if scrambling seemed like something that was indicative of her personality, but the others were faster. Whoever had the pendant was gone, and E4 was left on her belly in the dirt gripping at clods. If she had no memories, then how would she ever know what kind of person she was? The thought was a persistent one. It rankled her. If she was going to die here, it bothered her more to know that she might die never once knowing who she was at all. And what kind of life was that? Her entire concept of herself had to do with her initial let's-get-'em-tiger attitude that flipped to tropey-trope-trope with Kate on a dime. What kind of person did that? In the middle of her mental reverie, Eta IV realized that the firepony had not actually smited her and was instead offering up a medkit. Her wounds were pretty severe, and so she scrambled over the dirt once again -- only to come up short, once again. So wait now. Was this who she was? The kind of person who tried hard and always failed? Did that sound right? With no memories, E4 could not look back on her life fondly, and there was something incredibly depressing about that. So depressing that she took off at a run, leaving a smokey trail in her wake. << Eta IV is exiting to the Windmill >>

Gamma Three was just about to start heading out of the fray, when someone punched her in the god damned face.
Which would have been okay, except it's never okay to just get punched in the face. With an expression that could only be described as bitchface, Gamma Three turned from the field, rock still in hand.
“SCREW YOU GUYS, I'M GOING HOME. ******** this. This is hell. Clearly I killed a hooker and THIS IS HELL.” Somebody, it seemed, was throwing a temper tantrum. She'd lost the pendant. Failed to retrieve the medkit. Nearly shot herself in the a**, and had been punched in the face. She couldn't remember who she was. She had apparently pissed off a large, flaming horse from the darkest abyss of Satan's a*****e, and in general life just blew a big bag of donkey nuts.
And so Gamma Three, also known as Kate, took her rock, now known as Hurley, and got the ******** up out of dodge.

xxxxxFive watched as the smoke cleared, the grey smog leaving her eyes. Suddenly the dark was gone. The monsters weren't monsters at all; the blobbed shapes slowly turned back into her teammates, who she was horrified to find were injured. Did she ... perhaps deal any of that damage? No, her gunshots had missed. It must've been someone else. It just couldn't be her. Five took a step back, shaking. She was unafraid to fight, but terrified of the consequences.
xxxxxFinally, the smoke cleared all the way, and Five saw the once gigantic horse in the center of the group. He was much less intimidating; ugly perhaps, and something didn't sit quite right in Five's stomach when she looked at him, but less intimidating nonetheless. He shook his glossy mane, and a medkit fell onto the ground. Though it landed quite close to her, and she thought she might make a lunge for the kit at first, she instead decided against it. There were others that needed it much more than her.
xxxxxSo instead of grabbing the kit, she made a mad dash for the woods, in the direction she thought the base was. As she ran, she tripped on a root, but the impending, exaggerated doom of both the blue team and the horse behind her made her run even faster. She just hoped that when she got there, people wouldn't be standing to kill her, too.

Nine was not the worst off, for others had surely died already, but she wasn't in the best of shape after having hit herself twice with her own nun-chucks and then also by that freaking demon horse. The smoke was clearing away and Nine could see that the stupid freaking horse had dropped a medkit.
She looked around at all the others beginning to make off in other directions. She didn't want others to see that she had another medkit, so she wasn't going to take it if there were others watching. She would then become an easy target to be ganged up on. Looking around, there were lots of people who would see her if she took the medkit, so instead she made for a new location.

Marsh the Sex Panda Gamma Four attempting to pick up the medkit
The only thing Four found in her frantic searching was a rock. Cursing under her breath she was about to throw it away from her when she was stopped by the sound of a voice. This one wasn't nearly as bad as the last time. Twisting she looked around for its source, shocked when she saw the horse. It wasn't nearly as big as it was before. It was a lot less scary when it was normal sized. Not that she wanted to try and hop on and ride the thing, or anything.
When the medkit dropped she stared. Medkit pendant both were useful and she wasn't going to let this chance go to waste. Four started running towards the kit, wanting to be the first one there. Needless to say, War was quite unimpressed with the group. As one, they all lunged towards the medkit. Several ended up in a pile, then opted to exit elsewhere rather than wait for another grab. The hell horse looked around, then with a snort the medkicked was kicked in Gamma Four's direction. "Here, you're the only one who came closest and didn't decide to bugger off." Gamma Four has used the medkit! Gamme Four has been healed by 10 HP!"And with that done," the horse began, "I'm outta here. There's gotta be something more interesting... or at least some squads with better aim than all of you." And with that, The Hell Horse has EXITED the thread!

Eta V was, safe to say, exhausted and frightened out of his wits by the end of the fight. But thankfully, he was alive, and thats all he cared about. He would have gone after the medikit, but everyone else had attempted to grab it before he could, and now it appeared he was all alone. He still have both his medikits, but delayed in using them. It was better to deal with the pain in his back and save his kits for a time he may need them, instead of just using them every time he got hurt.
With that thought in mind, he backtracked towards his home base, the only other place he knew of. ((Eta V is exiting!))

Unfortunately for Gamma Four she ended up on the bottom of the pile, pinned to the ground until the others moved off her. Once she was able to move she sat up, looking for the medkit. Had someone else gotten it while she was down? Her eyes lit up when she spotted it, it was still there! She still had a chance.
She was scrambling to her feet, ready to launch herself at it again but then...the hell horse was giving it to her? Her dagger was quickly sheathed in her belt and she leaned down picking it up. For a moment she just held the kit, then looked up to the horse. "Thank you!" She may not remember herself, but she did remember the basics of being polite. And even though the hell horse had tried to kill her, and made her try to kill other people, it had given her the kit in the end.
Quickly the kit was used, and Four couldn't help but smile behind her gas mask. She felt better than she had started with. She touched the bandage around her shoulder and then turned away from where the horse had been. She guessed it was time to meet up with her teammates.

η X sighed. Stupid rocks. They were trouble. Pretending to be pendants and then tripping him! It was their fault he could find the pendant and it was their fault he couldn't grab the kit. Yes, all these darn rocks. He would survive, it was just them. He had to.
As he got up and brushed dirt from off of him -- a clearly unnecessary habit in a strange uniform you didn't even pick out, -- η X looked around. There was barely anyone left. More importantly, he couldn't really see any other η members. He was alone, and this called for panic.
"Oh no. Oh no. Oh no. Guys?.. GUYS?" Shouting: not the smartest thing in a situation like this, but he couldn't help it. He had no clue where he was and what to do after all. η X did not want to be alone.
"I have to find someone," he murmured to himself. Holding onto the straps of his backpack, η X ran in a direction he hoped was the Eta Base. This was where he came from, right?
