Kumori arrived at the stop and soon got off of the train and left the place, his equipment already sharped so he was prepared for what was to come. (Passing through, and exits Nocturne)

Swoosh. The train passed by him. Once every hour, it passed by him as he stared into the distance. He was waiting for someone; he was waiting for something. He could feel the energy beating inside of Elizabeth, her soul beginning to evolve. But there was a chance that he could twist this moment to his own means. He just needed to wait. Voila, he said silently. A young woman stepped out of the train, and there she was. She had the ears of a cat, the tail of a lion, and the eyes to match all the sincerity and the authenticity of the moon. She would be perfect. His undead soldier's body began to change, to transition. He could feel it, it was awful. She must've been going through so much pain, he could see it in her eyes. She was afraid -- she must've wondered what this was. Azazel could understand. He did not want her to die either, and so he was readying himself to put an end to her suffering.

"Excuse me, miss," Azazel stopped the Kiranu, grabbing her shoulder. She turned around, a very irritable look in her eyes. Then she began to ask - "Wha-"

It only took that moment. The undead minion's lips parted, and she ejected her soul, her energy, all that she was into this woman. She was of no consequence, she held no power and so she could not resist. She was to be the new vessel for Azazel's ultimate soldier. For his true progeny; a creature entirely loyal, fierce. Elizabeth never flinched. Elizabeth brought him many things to eat, and could be matched by few.

When all was said and done, he and his undead minion only watched as the body -- one that had fallen over when its occupation had gone -- began its process of change. He asked Elizabeth - the false one, "Who do you think she might be?" The man's hands gripped the inside of his jacket, pulling on the handle of a blade. "Elizabeth, or a demon God?" He was not exactly prepared for the second, even less prepared than he was for the first. He had no idea whether negotiating with a demon or a soul returned from the dead was worthwhile. Either way it seemed like an enemy, whether alive or dead, willing or not.

Luna looked up at the train. She never liked noisy things like that. So she simply began running down the tracks towards her destination. She could use the exercise anyway.

The rotting husk that was once Elizabeth suddenly began to violently convulse. A red, ethereal light burst from her eyes like spotlights, illuminating the shrouded Nocturne sky. A loud hissing, almost screaming, roared from the body as old wounds began to burn shut, ragged skin livened, and colour returned to her face. The convulsions stopped, light lights faded, and almost as suddenly as this alien episode have began, it was over. Where the zombified remains of the once great ninja stood, was now a renewed being. Her hair and eyes glistened with a fiery red and her face gifted with a demonic gaze and other-worldly beauty. Her eyes scanned her surroundings before falling upon Azazel. Ah, sweet little Azazel... my how he'd grown. Slowly, she approached his, leaning in and caressing his jawline with her hands. Her lips almost pressed against his ear as Elizabeth whispered, "Mommy's home..."

As the girl arose, the color returning to her face and her form... changing, slightly, he watched in anticipation. When she had risen entirely, she began to look at what surrounded her; the dead trees, the grey sky, everything was as it always was in Nocturne. She probably felt like she'd only entered a new realm of hell. She did not seem phased by it, though. What caught her interest was not the train, not the long flowing black hair of the Kiranu that had just passed them by. It was nothing but Azazel himself, with a cold and dead-seeming girl beside him. It was Elizabeth meet Elizabeth, and mother meet forlorn son. But to her possible dismay, he was not Azrael anymore. He was not her son. He was only an acquaintance, one that may use her to his pleasure and dispose of her when it was made appropriate. Azazel did not survive by means of virtue, only by means of wit. He was wary of this woman.

When she came to grab his jawline, his hand quite instantly rose to grip her neck, his fingernails barely digging into her flesh. His other hand held fast on his blade, fully believing that he could swipe her in half before she could even tighten the grip around his jaw. "Unfortunately," he started, "You missed your son by a few years. He gave his body to me, and you with it. You see?" He slightly averted his eye, the undead slave standing at attention near the two. "I've been anticipating you for a while, creature. I could kill you in an instant if I deigned to. So, why don't you get your filthy beast hands off of my face?" His grip of her neck tightened. He did not look her in the eyes, he knew better than that. Azrael had made that mistake before, so many years ago.

Elizabeth didn't struggle, nor did she remove her hands. Instead, she took a soft grip of his cheeks and began to squish them together. "Hey there, Mr. Grumpy Buns! There's no need for figurative, or literal, or whatever threats." she toyed. Beth knew this new Azazel could break her neck without trying. And as much as s**t didnt want to lose her body this soon after getting it, she couldn't help but laugh in the face of danger. "Tell you what. You let me go, you keep the body, and we'll never speak of this again. As much as I'd love to chat, I'm afraid I've robbed Milady's realm of a soul, and I'd feel just ever so dreadful if I didn't fill that spot... and offer a few more... or a lot more... so what do ya say?"

She was erratic. She patronized him, but whether it was because she feared him or desired to manipulate him was unknown to the vampire. He decided to stay neutral - not falling to either end of that spectrum. His hands continued to grip more tightly onto her neck, until eventually his undead soldier dragged Elizabeth away from the progenitor of vampires, away from his face and away from immediate harm. The age old vampire straightened his posture, and held up one arm relaxedly by his chest. "You're right. There is no need." At that moment, he did what he dared not to earlier -- he looked her into the eyes, his expression stoic as he attempted to look into the stream of thoughts that crawled through her mind.

His red colored eyes reflected the weight of her thoughts, and his as well. Quite honestly he was, for all his wits, incapable of deciding between two simple categories for the girl; friend, or foe. He did not enjoy the idea of threats with motives running around and acting independently. At the same time, he could find her to be quite the ally if she really did have no intention of resorting to... literal threats. Or anything that they entailed. He parted his lips to speak, the vampire's sharp fangs slipping out and cutting into his lower lip. "I was there too," he started, "or somewhere. I feel as if some time ago I moved from one realm to the other, and at the end of my new home, there was an infinite set of strings; vines that led back to a creature, a mother, darkness. It was a Goddess. It felt like Kala." It wasn't though. It was something entirely different; her name was Catherine, though that was unknown to him.

He remembered leaving that place, watching all of the screaming souls climb to the exit. But they were not meant to leave. He was. Because he was chosen. "Your Lady and mine may be two identical creatures, Ms. Bishop. And the place where we escaped may have well been the same, too. One only needs to ask what the other intends to do with their new... gift. I don't want to spend it endlessly prancing and preaching about devotion to some demon. Strength is the means to life, and life is leisure. Freedom. That is Vaet Nocturnum." Azazel was the first to speak of Kala from out of her own realm; he was a figure, a father to the religion. His beliefs were ancient, and he was set in them.

Though he wondered of the implications of these changes that covered their Axiom; these Gods rose, as did their servants. Why now? Why after so many years of silence?

He wondered if his revival was also a part of this, a motion in the right direction, a wave to crash against the tides that meant war and crusades. If that was the case, then maybe Elizabeth was here to throw him into the fray where he belonged. He'd spent over four hundred years in silence. However way in which he did it, it was time to rise.

Was he... trying to get a read on her? This was priceless. Try as he might, even the most skilled of mind readers would get lost in the labyrinth of thoughts that was Elizabeth's mind. No matter what the situation, she kept her mind racing, jumping from thought to thought and never remaining for more than a few seconds. It was a valuable trick she picked up while traveling with the seer, Liliana. As laughable as she found the effort, she did have to admit it only increased her curiosity in him. Most people she met just took a passing glance and were done. Azazel... He was something else entirely.

She listened intently as the ancient vampire spun his tale, never breaking eye contact. After his little rant was finished, Elizabeth allowed for a moment of silence before bursting into laughter. "Oh goodness, you're serious, arent you?" she said, wiping a tear from her eye. "Look, you worship her your way, and I'll worship her by trying to beat last life's high score."

She laughed. Strangely enough, she found his story funny. Pity too, he hoped she'd relate; he hoped they would see eye-to-eye, come to some understanding by means of their seclusion in that endless purgatory they both called home. Instead, she only mocked him. He would, however, follow her advice. He worshiped his way, always. And for all of history, the proceedings were quite evidently inspired by his way. Religion itself was a machination of his own, as he sung of Kala and the demons -- creatures only he had slain. "Last life's high score," he remarked. "I know you as well as anyone could. You destroyed some floating city in the sky. I bet you think that's very astounding." He laughed slightly, just as he did. But he was not quite as eccentric as she was.

"How about you beat my high score? Five pure-blooded demons. Three million humans. Twenty thousand vampires. And all of the deaths that came to be in the wake of my creed: Vaet Nocturnum." His eyes aimed for the sky, the man looking to find the moon, though it was covered in the dark blankets of grey that once appeared as clouds. "That would be quite a feat, indeed, Ms. Bishop. One I'd eagerly admire. One that she would eagerly admire." He could think of the ways, all the ways she could accomplish the task. He remembered the numbers for each and every major city; Kranila, twelve million people. Fraxen, twenty million. Lukhan's Landing, fifteen million. Luimiria, seventeen million. Pronta, eight million. There were so many people everywhere, surrounding them. There was blood like he could've never imagined, and souls that the demons desired to entice. There was room for chaos that hadn't been seen in all the centuries combined.

It was a wonderful time to return from the dead.

"Frankly, I think..." Azazel stopped for a moment, his eyes finally catching a glimpse of the moon. "Taking down a nation would be exciting. That's the way I can imagine myself worshiping... Kala."

Elizabeth was beginning to grow annoyed by Azazel's superiority complex. Sure, he's killed millions, but how long did he have to do it? Given a few thousand years, she was sure she could more than double his body count. Though it irked her, she was quick to dismiss these thoughts. After all, her views on killing had changed in her time away. She was proud of her triumph over Sutami for sure, but it was too barbaric for her to replicate. Now... she liked her murders to be personal. "Kala? Ah... the vast darkness... nothingness... Too neutral for me. When I speak of "Milady" I refer to the demon, Catherine. My killing is an art form, and I hear she's a pretty big fan. I work to adorn her walls with every one of my master pieces. Destroying a nation was fun and all, but to do it again... unless I can make art of it, I'm not on board," she said, thinking on what the vampire was leading on about. "However... I did plan on having... let's call it a homecoming." A dark grin quickly crept across her face; a reflection of her wicked intent. "Tell me... Have you heard of Kora Summer?"

He crossed his arms. Elizabeth had a fairly interesting idea of Kala, a fairly uneducated one as well. He opened his lips, and spewed his ensemble of corrections. "She is the universe itself. She is not nothingness. She is the stars and the galaxies. She is the suns and the moons away from ours. She is the base on which all is drawn. Even Michael is just an extended issue of her. Like a rebellious child." Though that was only a theory, and what Kala surely wanted the people to believe. No one really knew where Michael emerged from, not even him. He simply appeared just as Kala did, though truthfully billions of years after her own conception. "She is not neutral, either. She's the most vile and macabre killer out there. Death would not even exist without her. All of the art of it would disappear. The chopping, the stabbing, the bleeding dry. It would be nothing. Catherine is only one facet of her being. And so you are entirely wrong to believe in that Goddess over mine." He remembered, five hundred years ago.

Azazel had never really seen a God, only monsters and men. He had seen his people, men and women who considered him as a prince and a warrior. He was the chosen commander, by Achaemid himself, their Pagan Lord. Achaemid was the greatest of the pagans. He was strong and valiant, brave and gallant. He was the apex of all mankind. And yet it only took an instant, and a whim, for Kala to eclipse all of the glory he'd built over three hundred years. Azazel watched as the blue sky, the clouds and the sun became a dark veil of black, grey, a full moon. His eyes flickered in excitement, believing it must've been a revolutionary spell. And it was, in a way. It brought upon years of profanity and death, brothers killing brothers, mothers eating their children's skulls to stay alive. It brought about true anarchy, and from the ashes of this chaos Azazel rose.

He owed everything to Kala. And yet owed nothing. She was the only true Goddess, because she asked that you simply be yourself. All others were jealous, greedy pretenders.

When the red-headed woman mentioned the inkling of her plan, her 'homecoming', the vampire raised an eyebrow and very faintly laughed. "Kora Summer?" He smirked. "Weak. Easy kill. I'm more interested in the real challengers. Emperor West of Aramil. King Alistair of Nocturne. Korok Makar of Kusana. Real challenges. Real kills. Who gives a bloody ******** about that pompous cloth slut in Kranila?"

"She is weak... and she is an easy kill, but she's done something unforgivable." Her tone up till now was light and bubbly, but her voice suddenly turned to a bit of a growl, rising more and more with anger. "She took back a kill! I offered a prime soul for The Lady, and she revived him! She stole from Lady Catherine, and I will not allow for such desecration!" Her breathing was heavy when Elizabeth snapped back to her senses. Her claws were drawn and her teeth were barred in primal rage. She quickly regained her composure and continued, "You may think worshiping her is beneath you, but I am a loyal devotee, and I plan to retake what is hers with a little extra. You wish to revel in the slaughter of a nation? Feel free to join me... kill our king, our captains, our students.... but Kora... Kora is mine."

Funny. Elizabeth lost her cool very quick at the thought of death or perhaps the undoing of death. Azazel was a soul stolen away as well, though the man who primed him -- Azrael -- was given in exchange. Perhaps it was all about the exchange, whether equivalent or largely one-sided for the Goddess. She also allowed Elizabeth a return with the expectations that she would ultimately harness millions of souls for Catherine. Starting with the Queen of Kusana, one who had reigned for so many years. Her death was imminent, then, if both The First Vampire and his macabre cat willed it. And with two Elizabeth's, it was hard to put up a fight. "Kora is yours," he said. "The King is mine. Their children, if they have any, are mine. The soldiers are mine. The people of Kusana are mine. I will kill every last one of them and I will greatly enjoy it." The train came by, the wind blowing some dust over against his face. He took the Kiranu by the hand, and grinned. "Come. Let's do away with them now."

His eyes stared into hers. He felt the implications of this moment; another revolution, another decade of change. He would be glad to invite that chaos in.
