❋ ϻiles ʟeonid βeyer ❋ "Leave no stone unturned, leave your fears behind..." Miles quietly listened to the slave girl's next words. He found it strange that she both wanted to know that he was okay and that she began another sentence just to drop it entirely. She seemed to be more unsure of her surroundings than he was, and she probably more accustomed to this place than he was. He found himself wondering if she had a hearing disorder once the headphones on her ears came into better view. Perhaps, or perhaps not. If it was possible for him to be a necromancer, then it was possible that the headphones were in place for other reasons. He had heard tell of telepaths using headphones with music to drown out the sounds of people's thoughts. That could also be the case.
Before Miles could respond to the girl, the vendor finally spoke up, garnering his attention. He listened to the man, finding it a little difficult to understand him through such a heavy accent. The young man muddled through it, but only through sheer willpower of focus on the old man's words. Reprogramming seemed to be a strange word to use when talking about training a person. He looked back at the girl when she spoke up again, confirming the fact that she could be reprogrammed. Did the headphones mean that she had a robotic element to her?"So...are you like...a robot...or something like that?" Miles asked the girl. He was probably being too forward with it, but there seemed to be far more to her than what laid on the surface. If anything, the young man would at least have an understanding of another type of person that existed in the world."...And try to take the path less traveled by."

 Ivy Chattoway
Ivy's face lit up when she saw that the boy seemed to like her and Adeline. "My name is Miss Ivy, and this is Adeline." Ivy leaned down so the boy could reach her wings and see her better. "Would you like to come home with me, Cinnamon? I have a big back yard with toys, a swimming pool, and a bedroom just for you. And on the way there, we'll stop and get whatever food you want. We'll fill that tummy of yours up, little man."
Ivy hoped the boy would be willing to go home with her and Adeline. The idea of raising and loving this boy started filling the empty space left in Ivy. When she lost most of her family, Ivy was left secluded and lonely, and remained like that for years upon years. The longer she was alone, the bigger the empty part of her became. Ivy looked at the adorable boy and then looked to Adeline. Ivy barely knew Adeline, but already felt so close to her. Ivy felt that these to people could become her family and save her.

"Watch where you're going!" The words were barked at one of the guards who had been looking off in another direction while walking. The ignorant man had bumped into someone else, which only caused the victim's temper to flare. The guard brought his eyes to the one he'd bumped into, and was hesitant on nodding his head... but he did, and walked away. Blue eyes glared after him, but once he was gone... they went forward again and he continued to walk as he had been doing before the guard had rudely and carelessly bumped into him. The search continued, his icy gaze glancing over each and every one of the creatures in the cages. There really seemed to be a mix, and a wide selection: Harpies, cat things, vampires, robots, shapeshifters... There was a huge variety, but Dakota was not looking for just any slave. No... the lycan wanted someone that would adapt well and take his s**t - someone he could use his manipulation on so he could bend their minds to his wants and needs. Really, it was not that hard to do in the first place... but with things now-a-days in regular life, people were becoming more and more stubborn and thickheaded. Challenges were fun, but he didn't want to end up killing his slave by beating them before finally getting their minds to adapt.
The male shoved his hands in his pockets, his blue gaze just glancing around still. "Boring, boring, boring..." The word was repeated multiple times aloud, basically saying that he was not pleased with what was before him. Taking a male slave was not an option, nor one that didn't physically attract him. There were many uses he had planned, so physical attraction was definitely needed. It wasn't long before he came across... a cat.. thing? A little boy with a cat tail and cat ears - something he certainly hadn't seen much of. A slender eyebrow raised as he just looked at the kid with a bit of confusion mixed with surprise on his face. Well then... how unusual. The staring didn't last too long before Dakota continued on his way - walking along the cages and taking a look inside each of them to see what they held. "And yet again... boring, boring, boring, bo- ooh, what do we have here?" The smell of canine hit his nose. A strong smell, for his kind also reeked of it. But.. where was it coming from? Just like an animal, Dakota began to follow his nose. A few sniffs were made as he moved along, trying to find where it came from. It was surely getting stronger, so he had to be getting close to its source.
Of course, before he knew it, the lycan came upon a white haired female in a cage. He studied her, eyebrows furrowed just a bit. There was something different about her - different from human and lycan. But... what? She was not of his breed, but she was kind of close. The 6'3" male shifted a bit, lowering his body into a crouching position before the cage, his icy gaze staring in at the female. Nothing was spoken for a long moment as he just studied her, as if trying to figure out what the hell he was looking at. She was gorgeous, but something was still off. "... What are you?" The question was asked in a curious manner, but his tone was firm and demanding. If she refused to answer him, he would simply call a guard over to force the answer out of her. A slave could easily be broken in.

All my life I've been good, but now, woah, I'm thinking what the → нεℓℓ ← Checking the position of the sun in the sky quickly, the fallen angel worried her bottom lip in the same place she had already torn, a tingling sensation telling her that given a few moments, blood would come to the surface and soon pool on her lip. Giving it a discrete lick, she gave a soft hum of thought. It was a decent walk to her place, would she have time to get to the shopping district and back? Well, if worst came to worst, she could always use her wings to speed up the process... She snapped out of her thoughts when he commented on her little clip of a change of lifestyle. If she wasn't distracted by trying to calculate the time she had, she might even have made a smart remark back, but she did notice how he mimicked her action and noted for later she'd try and see how many more times she could make this devil copy her. From her vantage point a good few feet away, she could almost see the confusion written in his eyes at her mention of shopping. Oh boy, this really would be a fun time....Smiling as he finally followed, she felt the tear on her lip split more and slight coolness as a singular drop of blood fell over the curve of her full lip and spilled onto her chin. A typical amount of breathing space was between Ava and, Max? Oh what a nice name. Looking him over once again now he was out the cage, he was almost a good half a foot taller than her own 5"6 frame. The need to spread her wings was getting almost unbearable, but she wanted to at least wait until she was in a less crowded area. "Well Max, pretty much, i want to get you some basics since i highly doubt you'll want to be wearing my clothes. And frankly..." Looking back up to the sun "We don't have much time. So we'll do this quick and get back to the house. I have work to do. Which will give you a good two hours to get used to the place." Clapping her hands together, Gabriella set off towards the general direction of where the shopping district was, a good walk between the markets and her destination would give Max some nice time outside the markets. Which, from the pace she was walking at, would be only a couple of minutes, the fallen angel expertly weaving through the crowds of potential masters. "Do excuse the fast pace Max." She said off-handed, giving a quick fleeting glace to the demon she had just bought. An angel buying a demon... She mused, giving a quick snort of laughter.

Yea, I could make your life better...
Jack Kimmens
Jack hated this. He would rather be back in his store devoting his time to his arts than crammed here like a sardine. Just the thought of the salty fish made his stomach growl and caused him to curse himself, yet again, for the stupidity to wake up late and forget breakfast. Such the life of the young alchemist he supposed. He could still remember days where breakfast hadn't even been a possibility! Yes, he was much happier with the way things were now: a nice shop in a good populated area, wonderful suppliers who would do anything to (ahem) keep him happy and fully stocked of ingredients, and valuable customers and the occasional guinea pig for experimentation. Life was good; which brought him back to why he was in this god-forsaken place. Life may be well, but the responsibility of a store and a home was too much for the nineteen year old. He needed help, and he was damn well willing to pay for it. The fact that he was also lonely was just an added bonus to the circle. And at that exact moment a frightened male decided to run past Jack and land directly upon his innocent toes. "OW! Why that barmy bloody, $&@(^@$(&)%!" The runes on his body started to softly glow and the highlights in his hair almost became real flame. Seeing the shocked faces of those around him he decided to try his meditation exercise to get his anger in check. Once his appearance was back to normal he chose to follow the idiots backward trail to see what had frightened the ninny so much. He walked for about ten to fifteen minutes and was about to give up when a flicker of movement attracted his eye. In one of the cages was an almost Neko-like creature with larger than normal (for a Neko) ears, light blue hair (fur?) and when it yawned he was sure he saw fangs. Jack brightened up then and even his eyes started to sparkle slightly as he recognized the creature from on of grandparent's journal: a living Chimera! Who better to help run an alchemist's store than a product of alchemy themselves! He walked quickly toward the animal and before long ended up right in front of the cage. He smiled softly to not startle it (not too sure if it's male or female with the long hair an' everything) but instead gentle rapped one of his rings on the bar to make a soft ringing sound. "Hey there, how would you like to get out of this place?"
...but why would I want to?

x x x x x x x x xHelp me find who I used to be... Anistasia Whyte ... And save me from what I have become Anistasia growled as the man came near, backing away. She stared back, baring her teeth as the low noise came from her throat and hatred shone in her eyes. Already the girl wanted him to go away. Usually a human would have backed away and gotten scared off but he just stayed there and stared. How strange... His scent was different than a human's. Anistasia hated humans and anything like them but the growling stopped as she stared curiously at the master. What was he then? It seemed as if the man was just as curious as Anistasia. She stopped pressing her back against the furthest end of the cage and relaxed although she kept her distance. She blinked in confusion at him as the scowl fell from her features. It wasn't nice to see such an elegant looking girl make such faces. There had only been one person that had ever seen her smile. Anistasia waited after the question, debating on whether or not she should answer the question or make things difficult as usual. She didn't understand how he would be able to tell that she wasn't human unless he'd seen her entrance. Anistasia almost frowned at the though. She still wanted to keel quiet but his tone was dominating and demanding. It told Anistasia she would probably be punished for disobeying like she had been before. There was another long pause before her voice was heard. It wasn't loud but it wasn't the voice of a scared little girl either. "Human... But they messed with my DNA so that they could make me into an 'artificial shapeshifter'," she replied, not saying anything about who they were. Even if he asked he wouldn't get much more out of her than what he'd already found out. If he needed her name she might tell him that but Anistasia wasn't willing to give her real name away, after all only one person had called her by her real name. Anistasia didn't want anyone else to know it. The guards who brought her in could always tell the man if he needed to know. Cerberus was what they'd called her after seeing how she'd rip almost anyone apart.
Remembering, Anistasia shuddered although the quivering was hardly noticeable. She wanted to kill. The girl wondered why she wasn't trying to lunge for the man's throat yet. Anistasia sighed and broke eye contact. The only thing she ever wanted was to kill unless someone could calm her. By now she would have tried to kill the first person who approached her, that being this man. It must have been his scent. He wasn't human but already, her teeth were sharpening and her eyes were turning from blue to yellow the way they did when she needed to kill. Pressing her lips together she hid her teeth and looked down to hide her eyes. Anistasia wouldn't let herself change although it was hard to fight the need to spill blood. As much as she wanted to get out of here, Anistasia knew that the moment he found out that she lived to kill, he probably wouldn't want her anymore. If he didn't want her then Anistasia would have to wait here in the cage. What the girl wanted more than to kill was to get the hell out of this cage. It was smaller than the cages that they'd kept her in at the lab. Every once in a while she got to stay with her previous master but if it wasn't with her master it was in a cage.
Anistasia bit her lip. She hated this feeling and how the sight of death and blood made her heart sing. She couldn't stop the need to murder on her own. She wanted to be held until she calmed down the they way she'd been before but the last thing she needed was someone else thinking that they controlled her. Anistasia could take care of herself... At least she wished she could. Breathing deeply she forced the thoughts of death out of her head although they still threatened to take her over. She must look like a fool. Unless this man wanted to put up with her sudden attacks he might want to leave the girl in the shop.

Reika Valkyrie Black I'll be a servant in your dreams Cutting some paper into shapes I will try to behave To be quite perfect In every way, honestly Mistress Reika entered the shop and the sound of idle chatter from outside and a small warm breeze accompanied her. The door shut and the zephyr died along with the warm voices that filled the air outside. Reika shuffled inside keeping her eyes downcast as she shivered lightly. The AC was blasting and it was freezing in here.
Rei lifted her head briefly and scanned the room, her brother wasn't here.
She shifted from foot to foot unsure of what she should do now. Ross was the one who always knew what to do, not her! Where was he? He knew Reika would be to timid to do this on her own.
Reika sighed as a mental Ross scolded her and ordered her to examine the slaves. Reika took a deep breath an took small steps towards a few cages. She examined their contents. Some poorly dressed and malnourished slave greeted her eyes. She adverted her eyes and scanned the store. A flickering light caught her scared eyes and she walked slowly towards it as if entranced. There was a heavily guarded cage under the light and Reika peered inside. A shackled male lay inside and Reika turned to one of the guards who gazed at her silk dress with an appraising eye. "Sir why is this slave chained?" Reika asked hesitantly her voice small and soft. The guard, deciding that she was rich enough to buy the expensive and dangerous slave behind him, replied evenly. "Because Ma'am he is a dangerous and violent daemon." Reika let a small smile grace her lips for a moment. A Daemon? How interesting. Reika racked her brain for information, but her knowledge of other species of creatures was pitiful. But Daemon was probably only a different way of saying Demon. Which she was half. So hopefully the male wouldn't try to kill her if she took him. Not that he could. It would just be an inconvenience. Reika stepped closer to the bars and the guards grudgingly parted to let her get close. She looked down at the man and bit her lip then looked away and at the floor. "So if I let you out of here will you try and kill me?"she asked her voice still soft but a hint of curiosity flavored her whispery voice. Yeah, I really thought you were aware
That I could be your worst nightmare

*Anetheia Silver* Anetheia tried her hardest to get comfortable in the surprisingly small cage she was crammed into. She hoped to get out of it soon. Her captors had dressed her very.. scantily so she could only sit certain ways. As if selling the Veela into Slavery wasn't enough, they tried to humiliate her in every way possible. The worst part of it was.. she hated admitting it even to herself.. but Anetheia, a former queen, found herself enjoying being humiliated. The vulgar looks, the snide remarks, all of it.
Anetheia took to watching masters roam back and forth between cages, picking and choosing slaves. Soon she realized how thirsty she was, but didn't know how to go about getting a drink. She couldn't very well just get out of her cage and find some water. The Veela rose to her knees and put her hands around the bars of her cage, trying to attract some attention to herself. ♋ ϻikolai вalint ♋ Hell says hello, well, it's time I should go To pastures green, that I've yet to see Mikolai had taken to laying down in his cage as leaning against the bars felt like it would slowly bore two grooves into his back. A few guards had been stationed at his cage and instead of heckling them right away, he figured he'd let them stew for a little bit. It would be interesting to see which one would crack first. The daemon rested his head on his arm and gazed out of the bars, watching as people walked to and fro mere yards away. A low growl tickled his belly, reminding him that he hadn't eaten since his imprisonment here. A guard had tried forcing a bowl of thin, watery gruel in him and had promptly received a broken arm in return. The man was lucky that his coworkers had come to his aid, otherwise his arm probably would have gone missing. The daemon couldn't stomach anything that wasn't the flesh of another creature and it seemed that the slavers in the market hadn't figured it out yet.
The scent of a newcomer reached his nose as a pair of feminine legs stopped about a yard shy of his cage. Interesting. Most females promptly hurried past, but it seemed that this one was curious enough to risk stopping. He listened as a small voice addressed one of the guards, asking why he was chained within his cage. Mikolai smirked as the man replied, calling him "a dangerous and violent daemon." He was really too kind.
He turned his attention back to the female when she stepped closer, watching as she looked down at him. She didn't seem very strong at all. Perhaps this was a female that enjoyed playing with fire. The daemon's golden eyes turned upward to regard the female as she spoke softly, curiosity lacing her voice with every word. Curiosity didn't kill just cats. A smirk bent the corners of his mouth and the first thing that came to mind made up his reply."Does a bear s**t in tha woods?" Mikolai replied, taking no measure to buffer her from the crudeness of his speech. After all, four-letter words were so much easier to say and understand than ten-letter words were.Hurry back to me, my wild calling It's been the worst day since yesterday

Reika Valkyrie Black I'll be a servant in your dreams Cutting some paper into shapes I will try to behave To be quite perfect In every way, honestly Mistress Reika was soft and timid yes. But she was also a demon. One who had been around for years. So the use of such crude language didn't even phase her. But she was happy to see his rudeness and cocky attitude. It reminded her of her brother. And it was exactly what she had been looking for. Rei worried her lip, she'd have to make sure he wouldn't try and harm her though. And he seemed the type to possibly take a bargain. But he'd want freedom and she couldn't give him that. She cast her mind around for an idea. Her ears picked up the sound of his stomach growling and she almost smiled. The way to a mans heart was through his stomach after all. "What if I said I could get you some food? Would you try and kill me then? Or better yet if I promised you luxury for the rest of eternity. Every desire granted?" Rei let her voice take on a little more form and the true sound of her voice could be heard. It wasn't song bird beautiful but it was pleasant to the ears. She wouldn't make a bad singer but she wouldn't be great.
It was obvious by what she offered she was slightly desperate for a slave. She could jsut buy him and have him chained in her basement until his spirit broke. But she wanted him like this. Dominate and mean. She knew it was wrong but it was what she wanted.
She blamed her mother for that. The guards all looked at her like he was crazy, negotiating with a slave? One as unstable in mind as this one too? But when she fidgeted her purse rattled with the sound of jewels clanking each other and they looked away. Except the first one she had talked to. "Ma'am you know you could just buy him, you don't have to negotiate with the merchandise." Reika looked at the guard and frowned, she shook her head and then looked down swiftly and shrank away from him slightly as if afraid she was to be hit. She acted like she herself was a slave instead of a mistress. She turned her head back towards the cage and even though her eyes were downcast the mans laying position meant she could still see him. Yeah, I really thought you were aware
That I could be your worst nightmare
Say a prayer, you don't wanna hate me

Max watched her closely, she looked up and checked the sun, did she not carry a watch? Even Max carried a watch, even if it was stolen it worked rather nicely, then again that got taken away when he was admitted as a slave into that vile market like place. He supported slavery but he didn't like being the product or the merchandise or whatever the humans call it now a days. When they were now surrounded by people Max felt uncomfortable, normally he would sit a top buildings rather high ones and watch for pray. Normally at night considering no one noticed an almost teenage looking boy sitting on top of a building. He would often see drug deals and other such things going down, his favorites personally were the unrequited love mortals, having fights with their wives or lovers. Wishing they never met them and other such things and well thats when the human mind seemed to be at its weakest right next to when they were influenced by alcohol or drugs. Always so oblivious to what they have until they lose it, delicious despair. He remembered a single human he actually respected considering he traded his soul for something only the demon world knew absinthe. An alcohol made by a mortal, an artisan to be exact, artisans back in the much older days were half mad and one wanted the perfect alcohol. Made a contract with a demon and made it, the demon took it and duplicated it, however it was no longer legal in america, something about it causing people to go mad and experience horrible hallucinations. Pitiful.
He was wondering about her smile now, she smiled often at the weirdest times, not to mention she kept biting her lip, she bled and well he didn't care nor did he make a look as if he noticed. He wasn't surprised when he was looked over again, he wore nothing more then a typical long sleeved button up shirt and some black slacks, and of course he looked slightly on the unkempt side considering he could care less about his looks. She seemed to be rather uncaring about his looks, not that he cared in the least, his 'human husk' and his real form were two separate things entirely. The human husk he wore needed nothing really, it was more or less a hallucination, clothing on it was the only thing he needed besides to bath it every now and then, it didn't start to look bad until after about two years in which he would change his husk. Gabriella spoke rather quickly and being as he was in close enough range he heard every word. So he needed clothes, material things that humans felt they needed more often then naught. He listened to what she said next rather uncaring and he kept a neutral expression a look of boredom on his face, he could probably get her to sign a contract if she didn't have everything she wanted. The next thought came to his mind, trading an ideal companion? Hmmm that could be arranged, many things could fit her ideal companion. He watched her weave through the crowd and he followed suit pushing past some more stubborn people who refused to move. He rolled his eyes, "You act as if I can't keep up." he grunted rather irritated, he disliked not being able to just float around like he normally did.
Max blinked his nose suddenly breached with all kinds of scents, he covered it instinctively, 'Urk. What is with these obnoxious smells? Is that.....sex? What the hell?" he thought continuing to block his nose. So many different scents paraded his nose, he was used to smelling humans but going into a marketplace like this was new to him, he couldn't stand it. All kinds of dead animals and smells of different oils and fibers, they were almost sickening, humans usually accumulated their own personal scent which normally drenched there clothes masking any scent that it had before, and on occasion he would meet people wearing brand new clothes with their original smells, but being around them and with so many different it just gave him a headache. He covered his nose and mouth entirely with his hand continuing to follow Gabriella. His eyes were narrowed until you could only see a small slit of silver, it was obvious he disliked this place already.

♋ ϻikolai вalint ♋ Hell says hello, well, it's time I should go To pastures green, that I've yet to see Mikolai watched the female carefully, taking note that she didn't even flinch at his comment. Either she was accustomed to crude language or the concept of being killed didn't phase her. Either way it didn't matter to him. The daemon ran his eyes over her body as she silently contemplated and worried her lip. His gaze was every bit that of a predator, one that couldn't wait to spring on his next meal. When most males took such a gaze over a female, they weren't thinking of food like Mikolai was. He could already tell by her scent that she wasn't his species, so automatically she fell into the category of "possible food item." The daemon silently regarded the female as she spoke, offering to get him food and even going so far as to promise luxury for the rest of eternity. He snorted at that, finding it nearly laughable that she'd be offering so much to him. Mikolai smirked again when the guard spoke to her again, telling her that she didn't have to negotiate with the merchandise. Oh, that was right. He was supposed to be a slave, a creature peddled to some other creature with better luck."Oi! She ain't talkin' ta ya, she talkin' ta me." The daemon said to the guard, smacking the bars of the cage enough to rattle them and cause one of the other guards to shy away a little. He chuckled a little at the sight of the other guard shying off before turning his attention back to the small female. Mikolai ran his tongue over his lips to wet them before he finally spoke up again."Depends. What kinda food you offerin'?" He said, clearly interested in at least part of her offer. The daemon assumed that since she was small, he'd have no trouble getting away from her. He'd probably play nice as long as he needed to, but eventually he imagined he'd move on. Mikolai would probably eat her first, but in the end he wouldn't linger. He'd show those humans that had hunted him down that their claims wouldn't come to pass.Hurry back to me, my wild calling It's been the worst day since yesterday

Reika Valkyrie Black I'll be a servant in your dreams Cutting some paper into shapes I will try to behave To be quite perfect In every way, honestly Mistress Reika smiled, so maybe it was food that would lead to getting him to come. She didn't miss the hungry look as he examine d her. But he didn't smell of lust. Her mind worked it out and Reika wished her brother was here. He would know if her assumption was correct. He'd make this male agree. He'd make sure the man wouldn't attack her.
Where was he?!
Reika emerged from her frantic thoughts with a calm expression. "Well anything you'd like. Vegetables, steaks, fresh live humans." she enticed her voice whispery again. She took a small step closer just out of reach from him and she tapped her lengthening nails against the inside of her arm. She was getting really nervous and as a result she was fidgeting more and starting to shift back into a harpy. Or well a modified harpy.
Rei tapped the lock and one of the guards unlocked the cage door for her. She swung it open and looked briefly into the males eyes. He had such pretty gold eyes. She dropped her gaze again and motioned to him. The guards shook their heads. She held her hand out and one of them dropped a key into her hand. She slipped into the cage and looked at him rolling the small key between her fingers. For anyone else what she was doing would be dangerously stupid. For her it was sane and perfectly safe.
