Callysto Volkova | Language Master | Head of Slytherin Callysto strolled casually into her classroom. She'd been absent for nearly two months and was eager to resume her role as Language Master at Hogwarts. The half-elf took her favored spot in front of her desk and roamed her silver eyes across the classroom, watching her students carefully. "How do you feel about riddles?"
This is a most unusual paragraph. How quickly can you find out what is so unusual about it? It looks so ordinary, you'd think nothing was wrong with it. Actually, nothing IS wrong with it. But it is not as ordinary as you might think. If you think about it for a bit, you will find out why it is truly so unusual. So what is it? What is so unordinary about this paragraph?

Aludra Yvette... Aludra scratched her head and stared at the board. She found nothing unusual about the paragraph... unless it wasnt a paragraph... "I am not sure at all..." ...7th Year Slytherin

Blaine read what was on the board as she slipped in. She hoped she wasn't late. She didn't want to annoy the professor the first day she'd been back in class. She stood next the her seat, her bag on the table, totally stumped. What was so unusual about it? Well, nothing. Maybe thats why it was so unusual. It was unusual because it was so ordinary. She raised her hand. "Is it because its so ordinary that its unusual? I mean, ordinary things in themselves are considered unusual to most people. Well, to most people I know anyway. Maybe my friends are just really odd," she said. Her cheeks flamed as she waited for the professor to respond. She didn't want to be embarrassed by being wrong, and it was the first time she had actually spoken out in this class. She hoped she wasn't wrong, then realized she probably was.

Callysto Volkova | Language Master | Head of Slytherin The professor chuckled, "no, it is not that it is so usual that it is unusual." "The reason this paragraph is so unusual is that it does not contain the letter 'E' which is the most common letter in the English language. "
Callysto erased the board with a wave of her wand. "Please turn to page 433 -- you shall find a list of magical creatures which do not use vocal language, but sign language. Your homework will be to write a 3 foot paper on why these creatures use visual language instead, or in preference over, vocal language."

Aludra Yvette... "Three feet! Sweet Merlin! Cant we just have a little private discussion after class Professor, then maybe you can overlook this silly little assignment for me?" Aludra batted her eyelashes seductively before writing down the homework on a spare piece of parchment. ...7th Year Slytherin

Blaine groaned. Three feet? That was close to impossible for her. Three inches, maybe. But three feet? No way. Whatever, she thought. Just get started on it and do the best you can. She wrote the assignment down on a scrap piece of parchment, then got started on it. It wouldn't kill her to actually do some of the homework she was assigned. (Just curious, but how long would three feet be, like on Microsoft Word or something? Cause I don't know.)
