Abilities: Nero is able to manipulate and manifest darkness. This ability was gained from the Mako associated with the dark being Chaos, which he can use to move people and objects or absorb them into darkness within or without him. He is also able to create objects and possibly people from the darkness, as seen when he makes copies of his guns. The Mako also gives him enhanced versions of the abilities usually associated with a SOLDIER member. Nero's abilities require him to wear a suit which constantly supplies him with Mako. Nero is capable of free flight, much like Sephiroth, but much slower. He can also make copies of himself and use his darkness to create portals which he can travel through.

Personality: Nero has a more aloof personality. He is more calm and collected than his brother and doesn't show drastic changes in emotion often. He makes decisions logically and tends to be very observative. He only really shows emotion when in the presence of his brother.

Biography: Believing in Grimoire Valentine's theory that the stagnation of the Lifestream would give birth to Chaos, the scientists in Deepground experimented with the stagnation by injecting it into unborn children. Out of the hundreds of experiments performed, Nero was the sole survivor. Upon his birth, his mother was engulfed by the mysterious darkness that emanated from him.

Nero grew up in Deepground, together with his brother Weiss, and rose to the rank of Tsviet, gaining the epithet "Sable".

Before Meteorfall, Nero was known to go on missions outside of Deepground, like when he and his brother went to Banora to retrieve Genesis Rhapsodos.

Though later on, the Restrictors kept Nero heavily restrained in the depths of Deepground in fear of his strange powers. However, Nero, Weiss and the other Tsviets managed to overthrow them, making themselves the rulers of Deepground. It was after this, when Weiss was searching for a cure to the virus released in his body at the disappearance of the Restrictors, that the reformed fragments of Hojo came in contact with the two brothers. In return for saving Weiss, they would help him with his plan to awaken Omega.

Appearance: Nero is a thin man with long unkempt black hair. His eyes are red with cat-like irises. A mechanical pair of wings spread from his back. Nero has full movement and makes regular use of his metal apparatus, however, while they resemble wings, he cannot use them for flying.
Nero wears a grey Mako suit with straight-jacket arms that are at first secured but later broken at the elbow revealing tattoos extending to Nero's wrists, and gray, plain mid-calf boots with blue soles. Strips of metal cover Nero's face. He fights with stylized handguns and sparks of darkness rotate around him forming an X in front of him. Nero speaks with a dry English accent.

Role Playing Sample: The air was stale and a faint scent of stagnant water lingered like an unwanted visitor. Although it was still dark, the morning overcast had already settled over this now desolate place blotting out the stars and the moon. Moving through the streets noiselessly was a figure that at first glance could have been easily mistaken as a shadow. Upon further inspection one would be able to clearly see that was not so. The figure was in fact a man with long unkempt black hair wearing a suit with sleeves that tie back like a straight jacket and glows faintly with mako. The most prominent feature however was the two large mechanical wings that came from his back. His red cat-like eyes moved from side to side as he observed his surroundings. He did not know how he had gotten to where he was or why he had appeared here. He began to wonder where he even was. He moved slowly down alleys and streets searching for any sign of familiarity and unfortunately he found none. He knew he could simply move through a portal to somewhere else, but where would he even go? There was nowhere else he could think of but at his brother's side but he did not know where to find him. He felt lost, a feeling he was not familiar with. A light fog created a haze in the distance and he could feel eyes from the buildings focused on him. The owners of the eyes, he knew, were too cautious, too afraid to reveal themselves to him. There had to be some way to find out where he was and why he appeared here. He continued to wander searching for answers and more importantly, his dear brother Weiss.
