 "Why would I care? Youre..." Josh blushed and took a deep breath. Then said "Youre cute. You seem very kind. Why does it matter what you are? I'm a neko. My parents kicked me out as soon as my ears and tail came in. I kinda learned...not to judge" Josh hugged his knees

 Would that I could blush, and convey my feelings without having to be brave enough to express them. He met Josh's eyes, smiling, trying to mask how dead his face looked normally.
"That's me as well. When I died, they were devastated... when I came back, they were revolted." Absently, he reached up, fingering the ragged skin across his neck. "It was, um. I was mugged, see, because I was rich. Took a knife to the throat, you can see that." He could easily return Josh's sentiments over him straight back; the boy was the first to acknowledge him here, and not exactly lacking in looks, either. "I somehow doubt that you'd be intolerant, anyways."

Josh smiled at Niko. He felt oddly calm now, comfortable with him. "I would never judge someone, until they gave me a reason to. And I'm very sorry about your death....thats awful. i dont understand why humans have to take from others..." Josh let out a small sigh and held out his hand for a handshake "But...Umm...I'll be your friend If you'll be mine. Its always easier knowing someone..."

Niko chanced a smile of his own. "There's no reason to mourn it... it's over and done with. And I suppose I shall never understand, either; my time has a human has come and gone."
Niko recoiled slightly before reaching forward with his own hand. His grip was cold and probably slightly unnerving to the touch. He tried not to think about this fact for too long, and shook carefully. "I, for my part, would love to get to know you better." Inside, he felt relief. He had made a friend; he was no loner alone here.

Josh was suprised at his touch. It wasnt as cold as he expected, it was soothing.
"And I'd love to get to know you as well"
He smiled
"here's hoping we can be more then just friends-"
Josh blushed and paniced
"I-I mean Great friends!"
He was now nervous about the slip of tongue he just had

Niko caught the slip, but decided to take pity on the boy's clear nervousness and simply tilted his head encouragingly. "Here's to developing our relationship as far as it will take us." Perfectly ambiguous while still hopeful.
"So... what grade are you in? Dorm? Have you met anyone else so far?" Niko chatted nonchalantly, doodling math equations without much thought.

"11th for me too." Niko barely took the time to contemplate as he swiftly made the offer: "There's, like, two extra beds in my room. I've only talked to my roomie once but he seems pleasant enough. You could join us?" It was part statement, and part question.

He brushes some hair outta his eyes and both his bright green eyes shine

With a small amount of chagrin, Niko noted that the entire hour had passed them up. Of course, he didn't regret talking to Josh instead of listening; it was more the fact that, even if he had listened, there was nothing to listen to. He stood up, brushing off imaginary dust from his vest. "Wonderful! I'm in the Northern dorms. Do you have a class next period? I don't, we can go there now if you'd like."

"No sir I dont" Josh smiled and got up. He was happy to have met Niko today. He was cute, and made Josh feel special. He hoped this would become something more. Josh walked next to Niko and grabbed his hand tightly with a bright smile and a rosy blush to his cheeks "Lead the way"
