 Lacy looked up from her report she was finishing and saw Devlin and his daughter. She cleared her throat and said "As I said, you're free to leave." she gave him a curious look. Was there something else? ((sorry didnt see!))

Chuckling after a moment Devlin nodded looking around the infirmary and gesturing "Well, it looks like it's going to be a rather slow night for you." he said after a moment clearing his throat "I was wondering if You'd care to join me and Emily here for a night out, Trust me I know what it's like to overwork yourself, it never ends well." He lifted his left hand shaking it limply and shooting the thought "Made myself a guinea pig once for my work her way and chuckled.

she sighed knowing what he was saying was true. It seemed students were getting into more trouble, or getting hurt. She was swamped. But Lacy shook her head. "thank you, but I should probably finish up here". She had a bit of a headache and swallowed down some medication

Emma sneaked out of the room. Leaving her father to do as he pleased. She wasn't going to get in his way when it came to romance. Besides what woman wanted a guys adult daughter on a date. It was so uncool. She would have to correct her father later and give him a few tips.

Devlin frowned "Well, I could hang around until your finished." he offered with an impish grin, He was used to sleep deprivation and didn't sleep much as it was though he knew she would probably scold him for it after a moment. and then frowned after a moment "but, do you have a radio i could listen to if I do wait." he said putting a finger to his bearded chin.

Lacy gave a half smile. "Sir in your state and condition I'd advise against it" her smile widened and she shook her head. "Gimme a second." she swiveled the chair around and grabbed a couple more files. She set them down and offered a chair to the man. "can I get you anything?" she offered the doctor part of her speaking out. She didn't want him up and about just yet. People tended to feel weak when she went in their minds. she, herself, was feeling tired from it.

He smiled after a moment taking the chair nodding his thanks "Water and some bread maybe, I'm new to these 'powers' he admitted after a moment as he smiled looking back "And miss, while i may be a middle aged man, I'm not nearly old enough to be called sir." he joked and looked around for a moment "I hope you do realize I'm no longer a practicing doctor." he said chuckling a bit

Lacy nodded retrieving what he had asked for. She poured some ice water in a glass handing it to him. "I'm psychic, using my powers helps quite a bit. It helps patients better explain their pain and problems." she explained. "it also assists me in fixing them the best way possible." lacy left out the part of her being a demon. She went back to her chair studing him. "You were a doctor? And I'd hardly consider you old."

Devlin smiled and nodded he knew the feeling alright even though he'd only recently within the past year or so gotten acquainted with it. "I understand the psychic bit myselff though not nearly as long as you I'd bet. He said after taking a sip of the ice water smiling as he began to feel a little bit of his shakiness and lightheadedness drift away. "And yea, I was a surgeon." he said and then slowly removed his fake prosthetic hand it was of his own make and almost if you counted not being as warm as the rest of his body and a slight numbness real then it would be. He grunted in discomfort as he always did when he removed it but it was alright after he took a deep breath. "I was a surgeon of sorts." he said smiling and set the hand on her desk. "And in my military career I was a medic." he finished.

she laughed softly. "I hope you wouldn't know of it as long as I." she commented. She watched him take the hand off and set it on the desk. She motioned to it listening to him speak. "may I?" She was intrigued by his story of his past. "what made you interested in being a doctor? And then join the military?" She slid back in the chair to her desk and typed a couple of words before turning it off. Then downed a couple more pills turning back to him.

Devlin frowned after a moment and then sat back in his chair getting comfortable "Well, me becoming a doctor well I wanted to do something to help people, you know so I decided to become a surgeon and help those poor fools who continue to step on land mines to this day. i wanted to maker a prosthetic device that could be almost considered real." he said gesturing to his hand. "I feel safe in saying I opened the book on this method." he said boasting a bit. taking another swig of water enjoying the cool and clean taste of it he smiled "And the army, it's more or less in my blood. plus I had to join to look after my brother from another mother Cody." he said smiling then frowning some and nodding. "I must say i can't thank you enough for what you did." he said after a moment "It was a quite recent and painfull memory." He said admitting

she waved him off. "I'm more than glad to help. It is my job after all. Lacy started back on her report. She signed her name on the bottom line and passed the clipboard to him. "Sorry. I should have asked you to do this before you removed you hand. But would you mind signing this?" Lacy gave him an apoligetic look and frowned. "how are you feeling by the way?"

Devlin took a deep breath and thought for a moment putting his hand quickly back on with a snap and a grimace as his nerves reconnected with the electrical wires. "I'm feeling as fit as ever if a bit better with a lack of anxiety." he said before signing his name in autograph fashion.

Her eyebrow rose. "anxiety? Anything else?" she took the clipboard back and filed it in the cabinet. Lacy set down the rest of files and stood. She handed him a bottle "here This will help a bit" lacy sat back down tiredly.
