Your kind should have the ability to freely take away immortality just as you grant it, or is my mythology far from what you all really are?"

 "your theories on my kind are correct, we do have the ability to take one's immortality as well as grant it." she nodded, her eyes fading to their natural yellow. "And as much as i'd love to use that ability, i cannot. they're protected by Thanatos. as long as he wishes for them to be immortal, i can't use that power on them." she frowned, digging her nails into her arm. "hence why i came to you."

Rieux looked back at his table of syringes and drummed his fingers along it. A chance to finally have that demon in his grasp. After all these years... The doctor turned back to her. " And all you want is the serum?" he asked, still giving her a suspicious look.

" My notes?" the doctor questioned then narrowed his eyes at her. " Just what do you want with them? Do you plan to duplicate my serums?"

"of course. why would i promise you that i'd never copy your serums only to take your notes and do so anyways?" she murmured crossing her arms. "i'm crazy, not a b***h." she huffed, raising an eyebrow at him. "i would never use your work against you, and besides, i don't know chemicals like you so if i tried anything i'd probably blow up my house."

Rieux kept his cautious gaze on her before standing up and moving towards his serums. He took out a bottled vial of a green liquid and strode over to his desk to dig out a few hastily scribbled notes. " Here. Just know that I can and will reverse the effects if you even attempt to duplicate my elixirs." he warned with a serious glare.

The doctor sighed as he watched her leave. " It seems everyone in my past refuses to die like me." he murmured to himself. After shooting the curtained bed nearby a death glare until it quieted down, he walked to his desk and gazed at a faded picture on it of him standing next to a pretty blonde woman, both of them in front of what appeared to be a candy store. " Why couldn't you be one of them?" he asked the woman in the painting while staring longingly at the woman's smile.
