I like Grogan's idea. I'd go into it, but I don't have time.

On a different note, my Yahoo IM finally works again. *celebrates*

It only took Yahoo, what, two weeks to respond to the problem. I had to reset my internet explorer settings and delete all my personal settings to get it to work.

Which one, Tao? No system, or his system he suggested?

Hm. What is everyone opinion? If we keep Gro's system, say why you think we should. If your opinion is "yes, but with some changes..." just say yes and explain what changes. For NO stat system, say that.

Another option is still just taking out all stats except for Reiatsu, like BJ did in BENT (remember, mana?)

Tonight is the night we become great!
The Stars will show us the way!

I remember, however I found that system atrocious. That pretty much put the focus on one's reiatsu, and neglects things when it comes to well... everything else.

I like Gro's model, if anything, as I do believe a stat system provides more definite lines.

Edit: I find my point reinforced with the situation in Shadow.

Tonight is the night we become Great!

The Stars are what gave us away!

I don't really have a reason for liking Grogan's idea. It just makes more sense to me.

Okay. So....Mana, let me post in a minute my ideas with the current system we have.

Stat Rules

In this guild every single person, no matter their race, will have a set of stats. These stats will be defined here, as well as how one trains each stats and how stats play a part in ranking up in power. The stats are:

Strength - Strength is your physical strength, not spiritual. This is how much you can lift, how much power you put behind your mighty fists of pain! For every point in your strength, you can list 2.5 pounds. So, if you have a strength of 15 you can lift 37.5 pounds without struggling or breathe hard. To train, you must test your physical limits through lifting or dragging heavy weights. To train, one must write training posts, and for every 500 words they write, per rank (E=500, D=1000, C=1500, B=2000, A=2500, S=3000, SS=4000) they will obtain one point of Strength.

Defense - Defense is your ability to defend yourself from attacks, be they elemental or physical in nature. The higher the defense, the easier it is to defend against someone's attack. However, just how we can express how well you defend yourself and for how long is almost impossible without putting useless and time consuming math into the guild. So, instead of doing that, we'll leave this to common sense. Someone with a higher strength or speed will be incredibly difficult to defend against depending on how much higher they are, though generally 50+ is considering difficult to defend against. To train, one must write training posts, and for every 500 words they write, per rank (E=500, D=1000, C=1500, B=2000, A=2500, S=3000, SS=4000) they will obtain one point of Defense. Training in defense is defending against attacks of all sorts. It's really difficult to not train defense properly.

Stamina - Stamina is your ability to take damage or perform continuous strenuous activity. Quite literally, the more stamina you have the more hits and damage you can take. Again, like defense, there is no way to properly determine who has more stamina outside of Hit Points, which we won't do, but as usual those with higher points WILL be able to take more damage as well as perform more strenuous activities than those of lesser numbers. To train, one must write training posts, and for every 500 words they write, per rank (E=500, D=1000, C=1500, B=2000, A=2500, S=3000, SS=4000) they will obtain one point of Stamina. Training posts should contain something about taking hits or damage, or swimming for long lengths of time.

Intellect - This is the stat that simply reveals how powerful your mind is. Kidou users or those with powers that require more concentration often have more points in this stat than others, for it increases the power of the technique by 1 rank for ever 200 in it. For instance, if you were a D-rank with 200 points in this stat, your Kidou would be as powerful as a C-rank. This stat is also used to determine who is the better at stratagem. To train, one must write training posts, and for every 500 words they write, per rank (E=500, D=1000, C=1500, B=2000, A=2500, S=3000, SS=4000) they will obtain one point of Intellect. Training is with puzzles, with strategic games like Chess or Checkers (or Shogi), and so forth.

Mobility - This refers to reaction time as far as stats go. How fast can you react to your opponent? Can you see them use shunpo? Can you see the glint of their blade upon their blades just before it lunges at you? Mobility vs Speed. If the speed is higher by 100 or more, it becomes almost impossible to see. If 300 or more, you can't see their movement. Simple as that. To train, one must write training posts, and for every 500 words they write, per rank (E=500, D=1000, C=1500, B=2000, A=2500, S=3000, SS=4000) they will obtain one point of Mobility. To train, one must simply practice against fast moving targets.

Speed - Speed, as I am sure you guessed, refers to your ability to move. The higher your stat in speed, the faster you move. This stat also effects speed techniques such as Shunpo, so even if you have Shunpo, someone with higher speed will still be faster than you. Speed is determined by number, for every 5 points, you can run another 10 miles an hour faster. Base humans can run about 7 as it is, so 0 points means you can run 7 miles per hour, and if you have 10, you can run 17 miles per hour. This will increase, of course, quickly if you spend points in it. To train, one must write training posts, and for every 500 words they write, per rank (E=500, D=1000, C=1500, B=2000, A=2500, S=3000, SS=4000) they will obtain one point of Speed. Such training posts require the use of running while carrying weights, or running every day and pushing yourself beyond your natural limits.

Reiatsu - This is your Reiatsu level, your Spirit Pressure. This is highly important, for when someone of 3,000 or more Reiatsu Points than you do releases their spirit pressure, it becomes a physical pressure on your body. To increase points in this, one must use spiritually based techniques and/or meditate. Either way, one must write 1000 words of training for each rank they are (E=1, D=2, C=3, B=4, A=5, S=6, SS=8 ) to obtain one point of Reiatsu.

**NOTE ABOUT TRAINING**
You may train multiple stats at once, as long as it makes sense. If you are dragging a massive weight behind you while trying to run, you will increase your speed AND your strength. In such a case every word you write will count towards how much you need for each stat.

The one problem I have with all of that, is the fact that it doesn't take into account actual fights, which will also help increase ones aptitude, usually every stat at once.

EDIT: Also, only one point per "insert number of words here for rank" for a single point? It just doesn't make much sense to me.

Mana: Is it just me, or is Shadow starting to get difficult to be in?

Well, the idea is that after so many points, you go up to the next rank. So, like, to get from E to D, you'd have to gain 50 collective points. I was considering doing a number of lines for training, but I'd rather it be words.

And Fights, as you put it, do level up them all. Hence the special training note at the end. If you are in a fight, you are quite literally writing words for training for ALL of the stats.

Then it should be noted that you can increase stats and rank in more then just training. As a fight that is not a spar is not considered training.

Lol. I'm working on adding yours to this one, gro. Problem is that i don't know how we'd decide what numbers to use for each person with your system.

How does one increase stats, and such?

I am working on everything, Gro. Don't worry, I'm taking your opinion into account. Its hard trying to make things fair AND make people happy xd

So tell me. How, in your system, do we decide what numbers someone has for their stats? How do we decide how to level UP those stats?

I'm okay with your idea to increase stats, but the problem is nobody would want to take the time to post 1000+ words for one point. Diminishing returns if you think about.

Well Captains and other high ranking people would have 400+ in their stats, and usually those who are S-SS rank would have about 540+. Fuku-taicho's and their equivelant would have around 300 points total. Even if they have Bankai they won't be able to scrape a Captains power level.

Lower seats may have a max of around 250 and so on.
PostPosted: Thu Sep 16, 2010 11:35 pm

True. So you suggest how many words before you increase a stat? And I say 1000 cause in 3 posts I can do that, if not 2.

So, everyone has a basic range they can give for their characters based on their rank? So they start with any number in that range for their character, with the profile mods making sure all is fair. Then they follow, sorta, my system as far as ranking up goes?
