Ducking the occasional plasma blast and piece of debris, Carol made her way over to the unconscious Castel and tied his hands behind his back. She didn't really think it would do anything except slow him down, but she'd rather he didn't escape in the chaos. Tying the knot as tightly as she could, she looked up to see if she could help in the fight.

((If Scott's eye-beams hit the gas tanks, wouldn't the concussive force, and the friction created by it, ignite the gas inside and blow up the helicopters?))

Songbird glaced back and saw Cyclops blast the pair of combat helicopters. As both craft had to made emergency landings, Melissa gold flew within sight of Scott and blew a kiss at the X-Man, "Owe you one, hun!"

Flying in toward the the scene of the mech battle, Songbird dodges some energy blasts from the approaching platoon of Black Talons. Songbird winces as one shot grazes her off her rump, "Ow! Why you..."

The Thunderbolt did a chandelle back toward one of the armored squads and screamed a wave of her sound force down at them, scattering them with sonic concussive force.

Rogue had just succeeded in knocking down one of the mechs, which crashed through a small newspaper stand. The Mississippi native's reward was a hail of energy blasts and concussive bombs from a ten man Black Talon squad, "Intel's sayin that's one of the Kryptonians. Keep her pinned until the K Unit comes up."

Rogue was holding up to the energy blasts, but the concussive explosions were a different story. Marie felt the those blasts in every bone in her body. While her skin was virtually invulnerable to the attacks, the concussive bombs were effecting her internal organs making her ache in her stomach. Also, the sonic explsoions messed up the lady X-Man's equilibrium, making her dizzy. While the blasts were pummeling Rogue, she was being knocked down and stumbled trying to assertain which way was actually 'up.'

From his perch about six hundred yards, Daedalus took aim at X23 while she was 'rock climbing' up one of the mechs. The government assassin took careful aim, timing his shot for when the young mutant's right hand's claws (which was the side Daedalus was facing X23) were firmly imbedded in the mech's chest. This fully exposed X23's ribcage to Daedalus' aim. Firing, the assassin places the shot so that it will go through X23's heart and both lungs. Unfortunately, Daedalus shot just as X23 jumped off that mech.

Daedalus grumbled, "I missed? I never miss!" The government assassin slid the next long shell to fire and took careful aim, "I'll show you, Slashchick."

And when X23 stopped to look at the different mechs that were out of commission, Daedalus smiled, "Thank you."

Daedalus aimed at the center of X23's chest and fired the M-200 sniper rifle.

"Thanks, Kurt. But Rogue looks like she could use a hand more than me now."

Rogue stumbled toward Nightshade's portal after Kurt dropped her off, "Somebody git tha number of that truck... ow."

On the other hand, X23 had not been noticed by Nightcrawler, and all the better for her, as she watched the helicopter that had been chasing Songbird was close to passing by.

Moving target... X23 thought to herself, slinking through the shadows, dust, and debris to find a covered area where she could climb up to the top of what remained of the cathedral. She managed to do this, thereby nullifying the possibility of Daedalus shooting at her, and then she reached the highest point she could, waiting in the ruins. She looked down at the Black Talons, and then an idea hit her. Her timing had to be... perfect...

And as the chopper passed by her position, X23 took a literal leap of faith, unsheathing her claws and slashing directly at the tail-end of the helicopter, just far enough to avoid the tail rotor. As the helicopter's tail fell off, it would spin out of control, and due to its altitude and trajectory, would wind up hitting the Black Talon platoon; the ensuing explosion from that velocity would likely kill most of them, preferably all of them, but X23 was just glad she had pulled that little stunt off and she tucked into a ball, did several somersaults, and then landed on her feet a good distance away from the Talons and the chopper.
