"I slept fine," Arielle answered after his question before she heard his answer to her previous comment. She turned to look at him and noticed how red his face had gotten. She smiled and shrugged her shoulders. "It was just something thoughtful," she answered, "You paid attention to the fact that I liked chocolate and got me a bar. It was something small, but it was still sweet. It's always great when a guy pays attention to every thing about a girl he likes, because it shows how much you care. But anyway, ready for some breakfast?"

Kedrick smiled a bit, looking down at his feet. "I just, wanted to say thanks..." He said softly, pulling out his chair and sitting down. "breakfast would be nice, thanks." Kedrick said, then stood up and got him self a glass, pouring it full of orange juice. he sat back down slowly, sipping his orange juice thoughtfully, watching Arielle as she moved around the kitchen. There was definitely something special there.

"You're welcome," Arielle said cheerfully, "I'm glad I could help out. And thank you again for the chocolate." She turned her direction back to the eggs, finishing them up before setting them on plates. She took out the pieces of toast that had popped out the toaster and some fruit she had cut. She gave one plate to Kedrick and sat the other one near the seat she was going to sit at. She pulled out a glass and poured milk into it, then sitting down in her seat and began to eat. "Hope the food's alright."

Kedrick grinned easily at her "don't worry about it, it's great." He said, giving her a reassuring smile. "you know..." He said, pausing a moment to take a bite of his toast. "I shouldn't have believed you when you said you weren't as good at cooking as you grandparents." Kedrick said, matter-of-factly.

Arielle had taken a bite of her toast when Kedrick had said his comment about how he shouldn't have believed her cooking wasn't as good as her grandparents. She looked at him, the toast still hanging out her mouth. She felt her cheeks warm and she laughed nervously, removing the bitten toast from her mouth, "I'm still not as good as them. But thank you."

Kedrick smirked at her. "a likely story," He said, challenging her excuses that she wasn't as good. "you're great." He said simply, trying his hardest to leave Arielle no room to argue with him. Kedrick smiled reassuringly at her. "I've got to go to class, I'll see you in a couple hours 'kay?" He asked.

Arielle just smiled and continued eating her food. She was always self conscious about her cooking, but she was glad that Kedrick liked it. When he mentioned something about class, it reminded Arielle that she still had school that day. Finishing her food, she nodded. "I'll see you later. I just remembered that I had school. Heh." She stood up from the table and put her dishes in the sink, cleaned them off and put them away. She then headed towards her room, but before she left, she turned to face Kedrick and smiled, "Have a good day at school."

Kedrick nodded, smiling a bit at Arielle. "right, you to." He said, closing the door softly behind him when Arielle diapered into her room. 'better get going....' He thought ruefully, as you may have guessed, school wasn't exactly Kedrick's idea of fun.

Arielle grabbed her book bag and made sure she had all her books for the day. She sat her book bag on her back and went back downstairs to put her shoes on. Closing and locking the door behind her, she sighed quietly, realizing that it was another Monday. Not wanting to be late, she hurried off to school.

At 4:00 the bell rang and Kedrick's last class was over. He stood up from his desk and worked his way to the door through the ocean of moving students. It was a relief to be out of the crowded classroom and Kedrick hurriedly exited the school, heading back to the mansion. As he peeked his head inside, Kedrick saw that the mansion was still dark inside, Arielle wasn't home yet. So, he turned on a couple of the lights, and settled in to wait, book in hand.

"It's finally over!" a friend of Arielle's said with a grin. Arielle looked at her and smiled. "I didn't think the day would end. Did you, Arielle?"
"The school day would have to end sometime this century, right Maria?" Arielle answered with a small laugh.
Maria rolled her eyes and walked beside Arielle. "So, are you headed off to your grandparents now?"
Arielle only shook her head, "I found another place."
"Again? You really need to live in a apartment or something," Maria said with a small shake of her head, "So, where is it this time."
Arielle stopped walking, and pointed out the mansion to her friend. Maria gasped in awe and stared at her in shock. "Please don't tell me you're living with a geezer."
"No. He's not that old," Arielle said with a grin.
"A middle-age bachelor?" Maria asked, dying to know who it was. Arielle shook her head again and grinned, causing her friend Maria to pout. "Who is it? Who is it? Who is it?"
Arielle giggled and smiled, rubbing her arm nervously, "He's actually our age. His name is Kedrick Suwa. His grandfather passed away and left him the estate. He needed a housekeeper and he found me at a...at a place. He's a really sweet guy too."
"Oh really?" Maria asked with a grin, "Is he cute too?"
Her question threw Arielle off and her cheeks warmed up. "H-H-He's not that bad looking. He has a nice smile. And he's somehow really adorable when he feels awkward and...and...," She stopped there, realizing that she was acting like an idiot. She looked away somewhere, but she could feel the grin on her friend's face grow.
"Is my amiga in love?" Maria asked, "Say it ain't so, say it ain't so. But it's true! You're in love with the boy you work for now. Well isn't that just adorable."
Arielle just made a face at Maria, who just giggled. "Well, I need to get going Maria. I'll see you tomorrow."
Maria only grinned and waved goodbye to Arielle. Arielle waved back and watched her walk off before heading back towards the mansion. When she reached the front door, she opened it and noticed a few lights were on. "Kedrick? Are you home?"

Kedrick looked up from the book he was reading, when he heard Arielle open the door. He stood up from the massive leather armchair that just seemed far to big for him. Tucking his book under his arm the made his way towards the front door. "yeah, I'm here." He called, rounding a corner and coming face-to-face with Arielle, accidentally a little to close. "Uh...." Kedrick stared at her for a second before pulling back awkwardly, the same embarrassed expression on his face that Arielle had been talking to Maria about."Sorry," Kedrick said sheepishly. "how was your day?"

Arielle heard Kedrick's voice and would've followed it to where it was from, when suddenly Kedrick was face-to-face with her. He seemed to steal the word out of her mouth, but she couldn't say anything. Arielle was basically speechless at the moment. When he moved away, she didn't know whether to breath in relief or not. Her mind went back to the day before when he had kissed her, but of course, he didn't look like he was going to kiss her again. But his face was so close, Arielle couldn't help but feel that was going to happen.
Shaking her head gently and breathing once again, Arielle smiled shyly and shrugged her shoulders, "It's alright. No harm done. And my day was alright. Just a day. How about you? How was your day?"

"good.." Kedrick started slowly "long...but good!" He said with a smile. He lapsed into a thoughtful silence for a moment, then asked a somewhat random and unexpected question. "hey Arielle...do you like books? I mean...uh... like, fun books, not text books." He said to finish up his question, cocking his head to the side.

Arielle smiled and nodded, agreeing with Kedrick about how school was long. The room was once again silent, and Arielle decided that it was best to take her shoes off since she was in the house. She looked up when Kedrick asked his question and nodded. "Yes. I like fun books. Why do you ask?"
