"Very well. I shall be right back then." Edel said as she walked back out into the hallway.
"Alrighty then...I'll be back in a few minutes." the woman said as she scribbled down the order. Rosie beamed as the woman turned and walked back to the kitchen, swinging her legs excitedly under the chair.

Lucas looked at Rosie and grinned. "Aw man... I remember the last time I had ice cream was... like, five months ago, I think? Long time," he said.
Sandra looked to Alex and frowned. "You seem quite saddened. Did you not wish to come here after all?" she asked.

Rosie smiled sheepishly. "Yeah, I haven't had icecream in a really, really long time either." she replied. She didn't want to say how long or anything. She was usually...rather reluctant to talk about herself truthfully around potential friends.
Alex frowned and glanced away. "Not really..." she replied. "She was my mother for the first few years of my life, then I never seen her again. Moved on to make more babies with other men. I doubt she even knew I was one of her kids until you said that."

Sandra frowned even more. "I see..." she said softly. "Well, I apologize for any stress this trip has given you. I was only trying to help," she said.
Lucas looked to Rosie and shrugged, not sure of what else to say at this point yet.

Rosie just grinned and continued to wave her feet back and forth under the chair. Luckily enough, Lukas didn't have to worry about continuing a conversation. The deserts didn't take long to make at all. The woman returned with one large bowel for Lucas, and another large bowel for Rosie.
"Ere you go, kids." she said as she sat the bowels down in front of them. Rosie's eyes widened as she looked down on the bowel of chocolate fudge on top of chocolate brownies on top of chocolate icecream.
"It's alright..." Alex replied. "I know you were. And honestly I wasn't sure where to even start looking. So this does beat walking around the city all day looking for one building. If everyone's even in there still."

Lucas dug into his ice cream happily; he LOVED Moose Tracks.
"So, you like your food?" he asked after a few minutes.
Sandra nodded slowly, crossing one leg over the other. "So," she said as a change of subject, "has my son been treating you well? My husband and I raised him to be a polite young man, but I'd like to hear what you have to say."

"Mmhmm!" Rosie replied happily as she stuffed another spoon full of chocolate covered brownie in her mouth. The rim of her mouth was practically coated in chocolate, and she was doing her best to keep her head over her bowel so she didn't drip any on herself.
Alex blinked and looked over at her, caught off guard by the question. "Er...yeah. Yeah, he's been great. He has been really polite and understanding." she replied simply, trying not to think too much about it. She wasn't sure just what to say, so she left out the whole 'saving my life a few times' and...skipping out on a good dream. If he really did what he said he did anyway.

Sandra nodded again. "I see. That's good-- I'm glad he's acting in line with how he was raised. He's a good boy, you know, always has been. Never really got into trouble."

Alex grinned a bit and looked around the room. "Yeah. I kind of got that impression." she replied. Wasn't exactly a boy scout, but...he really didn't seem like the kind of guy that went and 'painted the town' on a friday night.

Sandra smiled. "I see. Well, you're a very perceptive girl, which is nice. Most women that Lucas grew up around were total airheads; I'm glad he has someone intelligent to talk to... So, what all have you done?" she asked.

Alex blushed a little and kept her attention on the room. "Um...thanks. Well, we've...uh...We've only known each other since yesterday." she replied, not knowing just how much detail to get into. This was his mom, she should know at least something about Lucas. But...a lot of parents had no knowledge at all of their kids being supers. Still...she was a witch or something, right? "But we've quite literally been through hell and back."

Sandra nodded gravely. "Yes, I've been subconsciously tracking Lucas on his journey. I could not see anything, but I could feel the physical pain he felt, albeit distantly. A pain in my leg, then my chest, and then my head..."

Alex shifted uncomfortably in her seat. "Yeah. We ran into a rather nasty monster with the first two. Thing tried breaking his leg and keeping it broken. Then he...took a bullet for me with the chest pain." she said, glancing away. "Then the head was this morning. Little biker gang shot him point blank. When he got back up, they scattered."

Sandra grinned widely. "I see. That's my boy... plus the Super Soldier Serum and Adamantium!" she said happily. "Oh, wait, you said he took the bullet for you in regards to the chest pain? Oh, that's noble, truly. He's got more of his father in him than I thought."

"Yeah....I got tossed off of the thing and towards a wall. Next thing I know, Lucas had caught me and had a chunk of rock sticking out of him." Alex replied.
