A few moments passed, and Kaze was still looking up at the sky. He looked down at the flowing waterfalls for a moment. Then, back up at the sky. "Huh..." Kaze then leaned back on the ledge; his back now completely on his back, looking up at the sky. "Sleepy.." Kaze said, beginning to fall asleep under the beautiful sky, comforted by the calming sound of water. "Life...Is grea.." Kaze said, slipping into sleep, his legs over the ledge, his back on the ledge, sleeping.

Yamatano chuckled slightly. "No, he has no bloodline that can rip a soul out of a body. I'm not even sure thats possible. But anyway.........So, seems like your getting to know Kanzuki better, ehh?" He said with a grin evident even through his mask.

Shayera Nara
ll Lover ll Fighter ll Die-Hard Kunoichi ll

She’s only half-listening to Yamatano when he slips this snide comment in, but it captures her full attention immediately. Her dark eyes narrow and her face slips into a vicious glare. She looks as if she’s going to kill someone… Until, that is, she sticks out her tongue like a four-year-old.
“Yeah, so what if I am?” She challenges, her voice hostile. Shay, be fair. You teased him, he teases you. It’s fair, the voice reminds her yet again. She tells her voice to go straight to hell.

"Hmm? Well, it's just a bit......unusual, for a relationship between two people to escalate from just meeting to.....this, in one day." He said, assuming the defensive. She may have been acting childish, but Yamatano just couldnt shake one of his nagging suspicions: A very unlikely one, but the ever present possibility that Shayera was seducing Kanzuki to get close to him, and maybe leak intel about the mist. Yamatano himself knew it was crazy to think that, but ever since he had come back from his five months of training with Manda, his way of thinking had been altered slightly. He didnt show his happy-go-lucky side as often, and was more serious and reserved. Besides, things could get very bad if Kanzuki let slip something he shouldnt.

Shayera raises an eyebrow in sincere confusion, looking from Kanzuki to Yama and back again. She understands his underlying concern, though it causes her eyes to well up with tears. She turns her gaze down, wanting to hide her wounded self-esteem from Kanzuki and Yama. She stays quiet for several moments before speaking, but when she does speak, her voice is soft and hurt.
“I get the point you’re trying to make, Yama, and I understand why you would be concerned about your teammate’s relationship with a foreign kunoichi. I understand why it would seem suspicious for me to want to be with him during the exams. However, I need you to understand something. I’ve been used. I’ve been hurt and lied to. I’ve been beaten and stabbed in the back. For you to think that I would go so far as to hurt or use or do whatever it is that you think I’m going to do to Kanzu… All it shows is that you clearly do not know me.” A lump forms in her throat and she pauses to try and swallow it. “I would rather die than hurt someone I care about. And what you fail to see is that I love Kanzuki very very much.” Her voice drops to a choked whisper as the tears drip down her face. “I would go to the ends of the Earth to keep him safe. And I would rather face an army of missing-nin than hurt him in any way.” Her lips are cold and sluggish, causing the last part of her tirade to come out as a pathetic mumble. “And Yama… If it makes you feel any better, I would be perfectly happy to wait until the Chuunin Exams are over to be with Kanzuki… I would rather not do it, but if I have to, I will.” Her self-inflicted would stings like a cut form a knife, but she knows that it could very well come down to this. Contrary to popular belief, Shayera truly isn’t stupid. And reading people is a skill that comes naturally to her. It always has been. Shayera knows how people think and she picks up on little things. It’s always been this skill that gets her in the most trouble. On top of that, Shay was still unsure if Yama’s statement had angered her or upset her, and at the moment, it was a combination of both. Unfortunately, the anger was towards herself rather than this Mist Shinobi. She presses her lips together and lowers her eyes again. “You don’t like me, do you, Yama?”

Sora walked into the area of the waterfall. This immediately brought back memories that she would rather die than relive. The day that her father disappeared and her house was burned to the ground. She couldn't possibly look at the waterfall any longer. As the girl turned slightly, her eyes panning the entire surrounding, she saw Shayera and some mist shinobi. One of them, Sora recognized as Kanzuki, Shayera's new boyfriend or something. Sora didn't smile or anything as she immediately noticed that Shayera wasn't standing up straight. In fact, her shoulders were shaking a little bit, and her voice sounded slightly angered and cracked.
"Shay!" Sora called out quietly, running over to her friend. She didn't catch the last part of whatever the girl had said, but she could tell that it was directed at one of the mist shinobi. "Shayera, are you alright?" Sora asked quietly, pretty much knowing the answer to her own question. Really, the statement are you alright? is a redundant statement. But pushing that aside, Sora had to look up slightly and glare at the two boys. Which one of them hurt Shayera? Immediately, Sora's eyes flashed yellow with her Chijoukei. But what could she do now? Nothing at the moment, since the only thing that she knew how to do was simple genjutsu, stupid cloning and medical jutsu. Incredibly useless crap that wouldn't help her against genin. Fudge, I'm screwed... Sora thought to herself.

((OOC: I passed! Yay!))

Shay blinks quickly, feeling more tears burning wet paths down her already-damp cheeks. She looks towards the voice calling out to her, swiping quickly at her cheeks with the backs of her hands as her gaze rests on Sora. She smiles, although the smile isn’t very reassuring. It’s weak and watery, not at all convincing.
“I’m… I’ll be fine.” It takes her two hesitant tries before the words can come out somewhat-truthfully. She bites down on her bottom lip, feeling the skin split and her mouth fill with the taste that reminds her of rust and salt. She’s secretly wishing with all her heart that Kanzuki would say something to defend her, but he remains silent. “It’s okay, Sora. Yamatano and I were just… having a little heart-to-heart.” She lies, wishing she sounded more convincing and gesturing to Yamatano, with his strange mask hiding the majority of his face and the headband that is clearly not the mist village headband around his forehead. Her words are bitter and her small smile quickly turns into something different. Something strange. Her usually smiling face is twisted into a cross between a sneer and a grimace, her eyebrows have pulled together slightly to create a crease between them, and her eyes are still swimming in tears. The full effect of this expression is uncharacteristically ugly on Shayera’s pale, heart-shaped face. Her eyes are flat and dead, full of hurt, with the irises almost black. The purple shadows caused by sleep deprivation stand out under her eyes like she’s been struck. She tries to remember when she last slept. She’s exhausted, and this emotional stress really isn’t helping.

Yamatano sighed at the mess he had created, not wanting to fix it but doing it anyway. "Look, as a Kirigakure Oinin, I have been trained to analyze any and all situations that show even a little bit of suspicion. This situation, well, it shows a little bit of suspicion. It's none of my buisness what happened to you, but I need to look out for my comrade and friend first and foremost. I was unaware of what you had been though, so all I could do was assume. Really, its between you and Kanzuki with what you do, I cant control that, but I WILL look out for him. As for not liking you, you really havent done anything to make me dislike you, so I dont know why you would assume that. My village and friends come first, so anything I said wasnt an attack against you, but a defense of my village." Yamatano said, not backing down at all. He was sorry for making her feel hurt, but he would be damned if he was going to show weakness to anyone else. He represented the entire mist village- the entire Nation of Water, even!- at these exams, and he would make his village proud. He also decided to ignore one small lie, that he was not a true Oinin just yet, but he was being trained in the arts of the Oinin and had been taught to analyze all situations. But pressing the point.........would lead to complications, and that was something Yamatano hated.

Shayera’s dark gray eyes narrow almost to slits. She appreciates Yamatano’s effort to fix this mess, but his tone causes her face to pinken. She sets her teeth, not wanting to cause further conflict.
“What exactly do you mean, ‘this situation’? What precisely have I done to arouse suspicion?” Her voice has turned cold in an instant, and she’s refusing to let the topic drop until she gets answers. Giving up just isn’t the way she was raised. After all, perfection requires commitment, and those who refuse to commit are not worthy of perfection. Since Shayera strives to be perfect, she will accept nothing less from herself. It’s the way she was raised.

Yamatano sighed yet again, hating how much of a mess this was becoming. "Well, how about I give you an example. Let's say that you catch me with a kunoichi from suna whom you know I just met yesterday, and it's the situation I saw between you and Kanzuki. Based on the how little time the two of us would have spent together, what would your first thoughts be?" Yamatano asked, all the while thinking, "Last time I ever save a foreign ninja from drowning....."

Sora looked at Shayera with a slight look of disbelief. The girl kept on trying to reassure her that she was fine, but Sora knew better than anybody else that Shayera was just trying to be strong. In reality, she was heart broken. After hearing some of the things that were going on in the conversation, she already had an idea of what was going on. This guy, whatever his name was, was accusing Shayera of... well, Sora couldn't really put her finger on it yet. But it was making Shayera literally fall over crying. Then the other girl's facial expression changed, which shocked Sora into almost dropping the Chijoukei. Okay, seriously... Shayera had a decently pretty face, but this new mask that she was wearing was scaring Sora straight out of her skin.
"That they're decently getting along..." Sora muttered toward the boy's question. She knew that the question hadn't been directed at her, but she still felt like answering. After all, that question would have a lot of people stuck. "I believe a better example would include a ninja from our own village and a kunoichi from your own, seeing that we are not apart of your village and therefore have no commitment to look after you in anyway." Sora said quietly, taking one hesitant step backward.

Stepping into the waterfall area, David walked along the rocks, avoiding the water to some degree. He had come here on his own, but he sure as hell wasn't here to get wet. As he neared the base pool, he caught the tail end of what seemed to be a rather heated debate on... Something stupid or other. As he got closer, and listened to the conversation a bit more, he began to catch the gist of it. So that mist nin that the sand genin had been so close with had a suspicious friend. How nice for him.

Stepping out into view, David sent a glare towards the girls from sand, specifically the one in the argument. This was not how you were meant to handle foreign affairs. "Shut up." He said to the girl who was apparently trying to defend her friend. Turning to the inquisitive mist ninja, he spoke once more. "Your mistrust is justified, she could be fishing your friend for information. But so could he. How much has she told you about us?" The boy questioned, staring into the masked boy's eyes. The reaction to this could be very interesting, as he didn't really expect the girl to have a very controlled tongue. Not if she was as attached to the kazekage as she seemed to be at any rate. Trends run in families after all, even if they were only pretending.

Sora turned suddenly, almost unexpectedly when she heard somebody tell her to shut up. Her eyes immediately landed on the young boy, the one that she took to be the Ichibi Jinchuuriki. Whatever his name was. But Sora knew one thing was for certain. Should things get into a full-blown battle, at least they had a demon host on their side. But hopefully, things wouldn't get that far.
But that aside, Sora deactivated her Chijoukei. The jinchuuriki could handle this. By the way that he was talking to the mist shinobi, he had obviously done this before. Sora wouldn't get in his way, no matter what happened. Especially since she had heard some rumors that he had a tendency to... oh, how should this be put? Not be a very nice person? Yeah, that sounded just about right.

Yamatano was about to let out yet another sigh, when there was a sharp cry of 'shut up.' Turning to the sound, Yamatano's eyes fell upon yet another ninja from the sand, mush different from the rest. For one, he was much shorter, and looked to me nothing more than a little kid. But he knew, mainly from his training with old man Ryuza, that looks could be quite deceiving. He carried quite a bit of equipment, mainly a large gourd and a staff, and had an air of control about him. Yamatano listened to what he said, finding that the boy was much smarter than he looked, and was able to keep a cool head. He felt a bit of respect for him based on this, and decided to answer the boy truthfully. "That's quite true, my partner could very well be trying to gather information. But I suppose I would assume it would be your comrade's doing by default, seeing as no one would deliberatley call out their own villager. Besides, in this.........situation, wouldnt it normally be the female who was the instigator?" Yamatano asked, thinking that the boy's reply would be most interesting, until he realized that he had just shown up and probably had no idea what the 'situation' was at all.

David nodded, quite happy with the other boy's thoughts on the matter. "That could easily be the case, as experience with her shows he to be rather stupid." He replied, referring to the former part of the question, as to who's fault it was. "But the instigator is the one who prolongs the contact." He stated. It was quite obvious that if the mist shinobi had kept up the connection of his own free will despite the genin being enemies in the exam, that he was looking for something, and experience with his villagers showed them all to be rather loose lipped.

"But you haven't answered my question." David continued, eyes narrowing on the boy. "Has she told you anything?" If the girl had been leaking information, well, he would have to do something about that. Because no matter what he said to this mist genin, the one who spoke was the one at fault.
