He frowned slightly, seeing the far-away look in the other's eyes. "Are you okay...?" he asked quietly. He reached over and closed the curtains, a slightly worried expression on his face. He'd seen it before when he'd visited the orphanage with his parents that one time when his father had worked there. He'd seen the despairing look of people who had lost all connection.

Biting back a frown, Haro mustered up a bright, although feigned, smile. "I'm...fine," he murmured, eyes scrunching up slightly in order to hide the blank expression they held.
"Perfectly fine," he repeated, affirming the idea more to himself than Shin.
"I'm just...not too fond of the dark," he said with a nervous laugh, which was true but it wasn't the reason why he had grown uncharacteristically quiet earlier.

"Come with me," he said softly, a slight smile on his lips as he suddenly remembered something. He led Haro up two flights of stairs and down a hallway until they were in a room that wasn't what you would call large, but neither was it small. It seemed normal, with a bed and shelves and things, until he turned on the lights. He's painted all the walls, sometimes of painting taking up to half a wall, other times it was merely small doodles taking up barely two square inches. "My bed room. Like the paint? Anyway..." He flicked the lights back off. He went over to the other side of the room and lifted the blinds, moonlight streaming in to bathe him in a light blue glow. He opened the window and climbed out of it. Once he was out, he turned back to Haro. "C'mon..." He smiled at the other. "I want to show you."

Haro blinked rapidly, not given much of a chance to examine the teen's room, much less anything else as scurried after Shin. Pulling at long feathers nervously, the amber eyes male took a stiff step back from the open window, giving the dark haired teen a rather abashed look.
Nearly picking out a feather or two, Haro paled considerably, "W-what...do you w-want to show me?" He asked cautiously, damp fingers sliding through brightly colored plumule.

"You'll like it," he said kindly. He reached out a hand to the boy to help him out the window. "It's not dangerous at all, not even scary, or I wouldn't be showing it to you."

How could climbing out a windo not be dangerous and or scary? Especially for a bird whose wings were clipped. Of course his flight feathers would grow back in time, but Haro tended to be cautious went heights came into play when his wings weren't at their best.
But Shin had said it wasn't dangerous, besides if there was any danger to be had Shin wouldn't do it, right?
He hoped at least.
Grasping Shin's hand carefully, the younger teen hoisted himself out of the window, frowning slightly.
"What...what is it you wanted to sh-show me?"

He smiled. "You'll see..." He walked with the teen, careful to help the other keep his balance, until they were at the highest part of the slant on the roof. There he sat down and layed back to look at the sky. The full moon was shining brightly and there were many stars out. "Beautiful, isn't it?" He smiled.

Haro's first instinct was to cling to the nearest stable object, which just so happened to be the older teen. He assumed it wasn't making walking very easy but he couldn't believe Shin had said this was safe. They were walking on his roof for heaven's sake!
Reduced to a ball of feathers and nerves, the golden eyes teen took a moment to tear said eyes away from the ground to glance at the sky. It...was pretty...and for a moment the teen seemed to forget that they were more or less standing on Shin's roof.
...Or at least he was standing, the only one standing by that point, which induced a slight panic in the bird as he scrambled to sit down.
"It's...it's-" Knuckles white from clenching his fists so tight in nervous apprehension, the teen continued in a shaky voice. "It's very...pretty."

He looked at the other, somewhat concerned. He then put his arms around the other and scooted over so he was right next to the other. "Don't worry, I'll keep you safe." He smiled reashuringly at the other.

"I'm not...I'm not scared now, I just...don't know how we're going to get...b-back down," he mumbled, stumbling over his words out of pure anxiety. Fingering a lock of orange pink hair, the teen sucked in a hopefully calming breath, amber eyes fluttering close for just a moment. Keeping delicate fingers in his lap, Haro smiled softly, nearly wistfully at Shin, "I- thank you."
Finally gaining the footing and reassurance to stare upwards, the teen gaped, slick lips parted in a silent gasp.
It was beautiful.

He smiled. "I'll help you down... I'm a cat, climbing is one of the things I'm good at." He turned his gaze so he could look at Haro out of the corner of his eye, not wanting the other to know he was looking at him. He smiled and settled back down onto the roof.

Laughing softly, Haro turned to glance at the taller teen, "I keep forget...forgetting a-about that," he murmured, turning his attention back to the dark sky. Stars blazed as far as he could see, it was nothing like he'd ever seen before.
The few times he'd gotten the chance to slip outside the dark sky had always been so...so...foreboding to say the least.
Leaning over Shin with a rather wide grin, Haro continued, "N-ne, I guess that's what you meant when you said it wasn't dangerous, not dangerous for you."
Maybe it was better that Shin was a cat.
Bears probably weren't as good climbers, nor could they be as nice as Haro had heard.
[[I've actually been plannng to unhiatus it, so...yeah, I just did, no worries. ^-^;]]

He shrugged. "Yeah, I s'pose. I remember I used to climb all over the roof and the trees and everything... I used to travel by roof, meaning I go from roof to roof to get up and down the block." He grinned. "Ah... those times were fun..."
