Vassili

Vassili started to hear the rumors come back and he smiled inwardly as they did. He heard him being a monster of unimaginable scariness. A killer of thousands, and raper of hundreds and one that quiet interested him, The Grim Reaper's Nightmare. That one was kinda cool. Sorta like a calling card. Vassili had also been keeping an eye on Sal as she moved and noticed she didn't dance with anyone, just with groups or by herself. He had expected a slew of partners and not all of them of the opposite sex. She just seemed that wild.

"Are you children playing nice?" He laughed as he placed Naomi's and Vincent's drinks down. He had left the pillbox next to them as well. A small post it on the front. He had emptied it of his own medication and the neuro-toxin leaving the red and blue pills in for their amusement. The note said, 'Blue is to wake up safe and sound in your bed, as if you were never here. Red will take you deeper into the Rabbit's hole. So Alice, how far down the hole are your going tonight?'

Vincent

Vincent looked up at Vas. He had also heard these rumors and was just about to laugh at them to. The Reaper's Nightmare. Well that was farfetched. He took up his own glass pondering Naomi's question. He knew the answer to that. It was a simple answer. It was the same thing any guy here would say. Cause she didn't want to be impressed, she was the hardest catch in nearly thirty miles. He wasn't going to say that. That's what she wanted to hear.

"Who says I'm trying to impress. I know you can have the music changed whenever you won't. I am a gentlemen, so I ask. Remember nature and all. I like you cause, you aren't like them." He pointed into the crowd, women everywhere.

"You aren't a girl, immature and childish. Wanting what they want. They want an easy date, someone who will satisfy then here and now. No you want something more." He looked back at her.

"I can't say I can give you that. I can try, cause to not try is a missed opportunity. One that could gain a few friends. A place I might be able to work at in a bind, a place to crash at in a fix. A place to hang out. Friends in a town that I have frequented and maybe something more." Put the glass down noticing the cigarette box.

"So Alice how far are you going down the Rabbit hole tonight? Are you ready to dive head first to the bottom and see what a real man can offer. See that a real man isn't scum. Or will you stay safely at the top and ponder it from the sanity of the real world? Blue or Red?" He hadn't opened the case. He didn't do drugs, just sold them. And he was sure she didn't either. Finally he took the lighter from the table and pulled his second one out. In an extremely unlikely coincidence one had a blue bunny on it the other a red.

"Choice is the only thing that keeps me here. Whichever one you pick I will abide by this time. Blue sends me packing, red keeps me here."

((S'lright. I am a patient person and can find other things to occupy myself with.))

Sal

She was getting bored again. The boys here were either too greasy, too clingy or married but forgot their rings home. Sal pulled herself away from the crowd and leaned against the back wall. The music was still pounding her eardrums in a good way and ever so often she had caught Vas' masked face looking her way. She wondered if he knew that it was nothing serious. The young woman pushed off the wall and began a slow trek around the masses, searching for another guy or a girl, if she was deseparate, which with whom to dance. Her hands swished her dress this way and that while her lips sang along to the songs ever so often.

Naomi

Naomi poured herself a glass of water and sipped it, taking her time with this one. Her face was blank as her mind worked against the current situation. Is this what it has come to? Boys have to pretend to be men so that women get treated right? She drank some more water, never taking her eyes off of his. It was a simple enough choice. One gave her what she wanted while the other gave her what she needed. When the bottle was half full, she put down her glass and leaned forward slightly.

"A real man, the concept sounds a bit oxymoronic to me. What are you going to offer me, Vincent? Will you treat me just right? And tell me all the crap that I want to hear? Oh, I know...you, Vincent the professional Vagabond, won't break a heart that is already broken." She knew that she was being unnecessarily snarky with him. He did not deserve it but she continued, leaning back in her chair, "You said that I was not like them, the girls there. That's the understatement of the year. Five years ago, who I was was much more than they are now. I had to clean up though and that I did."

Naomi shook her head. Why was she giving this boy her history? She readjusted herself before stepping off her stool and drawing closer to him. Her eyes darted to the lighters. "I pick blue and I'll do you one more favour, you stay here. I'll go. You take your time and find someone else." She gathered the bottle and glass and nodding to Vas. Before she headed for the stairs though, Naomi leaned nearer to Vincent's ear. "I must applaud you though. It was a valiant effort." With that, Naomi turned and walked through the crowd until she was out of the crowd and the Party Hall itself. Once on the staircase, she ran down to the Cafe to finish her bottle there.

((Thank you, SNPR 01! Sorry about the late reply in spite of it all.))

Sal

From her latest position on the wall, Sal watched her sister leave the party. Stupid Vincent probably tried to offer her something, not that it was any of her business. Naomi did not need anyone now but tomorrow would be the pits for anyone who cared about her. On to her own issues now, Sal had danced somewhat and taken a few numbers but it still was not enough. Tired of waiting around, she pulled up her dress, shook out her hair and strode over to the bar and pulled out a stool a seat away from Vincent.

Her brown eyes looked over the poor boy. She did not want to say anything but he seemed nice enough and her older sibling needed that. She tapped the counter to get his attention. "Hey, whatever she said, she did not mean it. Most guys don't get to have a drink with her as well as say something worthwhile. Just give her some time, okay?"

She sent a small smile his way before running to behind the bar by Vas. She hugged the man loosely from behind and pouted, "I'm bored. All the reasonable prospects are engaged till further notice but whatever, how are things over here?"

((I figured that I might as well bring her over. This post is deleteable if necessary though. <.<))

Vincent

Vincent, scoffed at her as she left. She was determined to put up a facade. Vincent, turned as Sal spoke, Naomi's scent still fresh in his nose. It was intoxicating, just so, like a good wine. Well you know what they say. He chuckled at his own joke.

"Yeah well she is trying real hard to make it seem that way. Close me out Vas. I'm done. See you in the morning. Heard you guys had great fresh pastries." Vincent left three hundred Euro on the bar. Though he had only managed to go through five glasses of the Siberian Juice.

He walked down the stairs and noticed Naomi was there finishing her bottle of water. He said nothing. She had made her choice for the night, but he did set the blue lighter on the table. As he stepped into the crisp air of the early morning, it had to be nearly three A.M. Time flew when one was trying to get a girl. Vincent pulled one of his unfiltered cigs out, really tobacco and cannabis mixed. He lit the the lighter in a single motion across his pants and began the short walk across the square to the hotel he was staying at.

Vassili

Vassili had been listening to Naomi and Vincent. It was easy enough when you wore a mask, with reflective black lenses in the goggles and were supposed to listen to people's woes. He chuckled at Vincent's apparent frustration and took the money, putting it safely in the metal box that said tips. Vassili hadn't even kept up with the young man's tab. He was the very first customer to the bar, so it was safe to say five glasses juice wasn't going to break the bank, ever.

"Oh so I am just a fall back guy. Someone to hang out with sense all the hot young studs are tied up." Vassili chuckled as he managed to turn, not breaking her loose hold on him.

"That hurts a little girl. I might just have to rescind my offer of a dance afterwards." Vassili watched her face as he spoke, waiting for the inevitable pout. It was just to cute to pass up a chance to see it.

((Well lets see, I made a new person. Vincent, if that wasn't apparently obvious, which it might not have been. I wouldn't know. I use the same names for all my characters. There are at least five Vincent's roaming in my head. Anyway, He is trying to get Naomi's attention, while Sal is being a little bit of a floosie, no offence, and Vas is being a bit puppy love sick. The party is still in full swing, or maybe winding down. Not sure.))

Naomi

Naomi sat there in the dark with her now empty bottle, used glass and a lighter. She poked at the last object, almost disinterested. Her mind kept playing over the most recent of scenes: Vincent walking out the door. It was what she had wanted, what she had chosen. Then, why was her heart aching so much? The manager stood and crossed the floor to a window and to watch Vincent head for home, wherever that was. Once he was out of sight, either from turning a corner or walking that far away from her, Naomi threw out her garbage and headed for her room. He could be like other men but he sure was not acting like it.

Sal

She looked up at him with her big eyes and pouted involuntarily. "Don't say that," she scolded, lifting off him and patting his chest, "You promised." It was not an exact truth but who was counting?

Sal did not appreciate the fact that currently, her best option for the night was only a mere two feet away from her if so much. She stopped biting her nails and tugged on Vas' outer jacket, trying to pull him closer. The party was indeed dying down at this point. She had not walked around for the purpose of finding out who was coming back or not and for what reason. Everybody had enjoyed themselves. The thought struck Sal and then she remembered her sister and Vincent. Okay, maybe not everyone enjoyed this little shindig. There was always next week.

Bringing her head back to the present though, Sal pulled on Vas' clothes and lead him to the other side of the bar. There, she leaned in closer and whispered, "The dance floor is almost empty. Dance with me now please. Play with me." After making her request, Sal let go of him and turned her gaze to the dance floor. If you wanted to be exact about it, the floor was still half full and the song in the air now would be finishing soon. She eyed the man in the corner of her eye, preparing herself for another refusal.

((Yeah, what SNPR 01 said. We did not move Kaden either so technically, she's still in the kitchen - cooking. Dedicated to her craft, yes?))

Vincent

Vincent had gotten a call on his way back to the hotel, and was currently standing on a street corner, with about ten thousand dollars in illegal substances. A pistol was hidden under his shirt, tucked in his waist band and he was just eighty yards from the cafe. The figure approached and the negotiating began.

Vassili

Vassili gazed across the bar. There was no one. The music was slowing, becoming less frantic and a little more sane. As to get people to leave. The last song was already cued up, 'Closing Time' was going to play in about seven minutes, so it was safe to say he could leave the bar. He wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her out onto the dance floor as a slow song began to pulse over the sound system.

"Ah this is a bit better. I can actually dance to this." He chuckled. Whatever mad Russian had though that a soldier needed classical training in dance, well was mad, but Vassili had it. He began to twirl her around slowly to the beat of the slower piece, leading her gracefully. His head was just inches from hers.

"So you get an A for effort on those rumors, but since they were the wrong one, a resounding F. The most prevalent one, The Grim Reaper's Worst Nightmare." He would never admit that he liked that one. It was one of the few that truly defined his past life.

Sal

"Meh, maybe I didn't want people to be truly afraid of you," she teased, letting her body go and allowing him to lead. "I think that Grim Reaper one manifested on its own. Rumors do tend to evolve, don't they?" She smiled with the twirl and swung her hips ever so often to the beat of the song. It was almost a shame that this was a "fling" of sorts. She was actually having fun with this one.

Naomi

She already in her bed, bathed and clothed. Naomi stretched. Music was still coming from upstairs and it was not helping her fall asleep despite the slower pace. She twisted and turned, messing up with the sheets. The past few hours of her life had been the most interesting thus far. Her cafe was gaining a bit of popularity but with that came one man who thought that he had a shot. Most did not so what made him think that he was anything better - special? In the end, nothing was all that different. With a final twist, Naomi forced her eyes closed to block the tears and sent a pulse of good will through her building. Hopefully, she would fall asleep and wake up to a new day.

Vincent

Vincent was through with talking to the idiot who wanted to buy.

"Fine if you can't afford it get the ******** out of here. I'm going." He turned and got two steps before the cold metallic sound of a slide being moved reached his ears. Vincent, was athletic and toned for a reason, and that reason was now behind him. With a burst of adrenaline he was shooting for the nearest door, eighty yards away, the front door to the Cafe was still open, people were pouring through it. He made it fifty when the first shot rang out, another ten as another shot boomed across the square and felt searing pain and heat just below his ribs. Still Vincent ran, just another scar to add to the many. The people around the door to the cafe were scrambling for cover and screaming for cops.
