Alex shifted uneasily, looking down at the injured hero. "Wouldn't know why..." she said quietly. They'd known each other...what, a couple hours? And all she'd done was loose her temper an need rescuing.

As Paragon rested, Captain Cosmos looked up to Atropos. "Where is Hades at the moment, Fate?" he asked her. "And why is the cat toying around with Lucas Ellison's thread? That seems highly irresponsible."

Atropos smiled and yanked the thread into the air, making the cat flip up to try and catch it. "Well, what else was I going to do while I wait?" she asked.
"You could be doing something helpful." Alex growled.
Atropos grinned and looked over at the young girl, glaring over at her. Steam rising up from her boots. "I am." she replied. "I'm keeping his seat warm." She picked up the cat and sat him down on the ground by her feet, wrapping the thread around her fingers. "And Hades, I believe, is over at the witch's home. I can't sence him any longer, so I'd say he's in her basement."

A coughing noise came from behind the others. "Doing... hwhat?" Lucas-- for he had gone back to that mindset-- asked, sitting up slowly. "Sorry, it's just... you say he's at a woman's house and in her basement, and I've seen a lot of stuff on the Internet I shouldn't have--"
"I hate the Internet! So confusing!" Captain Marvel interjected.

Atropos grinned and went to stand, only to be halted by a loud growl directed at her from Alex. The Fate smiled and sat back down. "Vell, given her occasional hobby, ze might be doing exactly what you tink de are. But...no. Ze are in her basement, which is de most guarded area of her home. No von can "see" what goes on down zere. If she is looking for something, or someone, that she doesn't want other beings to know about, she vorks in her basement."

"That-- *cough*-- doesn't do anything to disprove what I just said, ma'am..." Lucas said with a small smile.
"So, where to next?"
"I for one believe you and Alexis have had enough adventures for one day; specifically you, Lucas." Captain Cosmos said, folding his arms. "It is nearing the time for you to leave. Your mission was superseded by something far worse in scope... and you need a break before you confront it."
Captain Marvel folded his arms. "I agree. You two are brave, but you're still rookies. You should probably take a break together, get to know each other better, before you work together again. That's what I'd do, at any rate," Marvel said, and Lucas shrugged, looking to Atropos.
"May I please have that string of mine back, ma'am?" he asked politely, like the Arkansas boy he was.

Alex looked back at Marvel and crossed her arms. She tried to keep a calm expression, but she had half a mind to snap at him. Probably mostly just unspent rage still inside her. Rookie?
Atropos smiled, and vanished in a swirl of black smoke. She reappeared behind Lucas, her arms resting on his shoulders and twirling the silver thread between her fingers in front of his face. "I suppose." she purred. "You were rather spectacular. Weather you want a reward or not...I belive I might just decide to treat you sometime."
With that, she slipped her hand back through his chest, and let the thread go.
The black cat just stared down at them dissaprovingly as his little toy was taken away from him.

"Ah... thank you, ma'am," Lucas said softly, blushing slightly-- curiously not nearly as much as he had before, and he didn't even notice it. Captain Cosmos waved a hand, and Lucas' outfit changed back to the civilian attire he had been wearing-- clean, and he even had his t-shirt back!
"It is time for you to go and get some rest, but before you go, I believe you deserve some entertainment." Cosmos said. Before Lucas could respond, the being waved his hand again, and a large, black dog appeared behind C.C., growling maliciously.

The cat froze, the furr on it's back standing on end, and its amber eyes grew large. Enough so that they seemed to take up the majority of space on it's face. The creature let out a small, shrill 'mew', before bolting like a bat outta hell for Atropos.
The woman frowned and bent down to catch the cat as it lunged into her arms. She stood up and gave a deadly look at the dog, then glared over at Cosmos. "And vot was dat for?" she hissed, the cat curling up in her arms and burring it's head between her arm.

"Humanity has a saying nowadays: 'For the lulz: the only reason anyone does anything'." Cosmos said calmly. "Not true, but still... humorous."
He paused, and looked to the group. "It is time that I be off. We shall meet again, heroes." With a wave of his hand, the dog disappeared, and Cosmos himself did as well.
Lucas folded his arms, looking to Alex. "So... how do we get outta here?" he asked.

Alex glanced back at Paragon and shrugged, then looked over at Atropos. The Fate gave the two of them a bit of a look, then turned and made her way back up the staircase to the throne.
Alex grimmaced. "Alright, any idea where the other woman went to?"
"In the castle somewhere." Atropos replied offhandedly. "You may look for her if you wish." she said before sitting down to try and calm the cat.

Lucas frowned. "I'm tired. I've gotten beat up, stabbed, poisoned, knocked out, and had my throat slit all within the space of a few hours. Yikes..."
Captain Marvel nodded. "It's alright, I'll look for Zatanna myself. I've got limitless stamina and infinite endurance, so I can search for a long time. You two need some serious rest."
Lucas nodded. "Alright, well, it was good to meet you, Cap. Hope we get to see each other again." he said, before leading Alex out of the throne room.
[Exit ALEX and PARAGON to KEYSTONE CITY]

  Following them,he dodge out when they entered the throne room. Following them to the portal, sneakingly he ducked through after a few good minutes.

Dalila Harford "Yes Mother. I understand. But I just want to speak to him, what's so wrong about that? He was my twin!" She demanded and only got a hiss and a strong swipe across the back of her head in reply from the fourty foot demon cat. When she was steady again, Dalila Harford sighed and nodded, rubbing the back of her head softly. "Fine. Nyu... I gotta go Mom. Work, ya know? That's what we do in the human world." she paused and seemed to listen to the silent white femile, it's head tilting to the side. "No Mom! I'm half demon, but I still gotta work! Geez. I'll stop by later this month, I promise. I love you." She said and received a purr and a large, raspy tongue ran up her face. "Myan! And will you stop that! I took a bath already! Geez Ma!" She said and her demonic nature got the better of her and she lciked the back of her hand and rubbed her forhead. Dalila turned back and smiled once more before a small protal of fire appeard next to her. "Yeah Mom. I'll be careful. I have to be. I live around full humans and I don't want to make a ruckus. Bye." she said and waved as she stepped through the portal and into the streets of Gotham City once more. ((EXIT to GOTHAM CITY))

HADES THRONE ROOM
Atropos ignored the mortals as they left, focusing all her attention on calming down the black cat wrapped in her arms. She leaned against one side of the throne, then swung her legs over the armrest as she had done before. If Hades was conversing with the witch, then it would probably take him a while to return. And since the threat of death was gone for the time being, she might as well make herself comfortable.
