Alber took the heavy shield with a grunt, but was quick to follow Anna towards his fallen comrades. He kept his eyes to the air, ready to deflect whatever was coming at him next, awkwardly making his way over.

Owle, curled in her little ball of scales (she was about the same size as the core) was pouring all her energy into slowly trying to heal herself.
((Don't worry. She won't be doing anything else in part one.))

The powerful horse closed the distance between Anna and her fallen comrades quickly; Anna shifted in the saddle to leap free just as they neared the women.
Close enough, Anna dismounted on a run, stumbling and nearly falling but managing to collect herself enough to keep her feet. But she had slowed. "Guard!" she commanded the horse, who came out of his charge to turn and return to her. As Anna scurried over to assess the injuries of Sam and Sey, Yves took position to shield them from anything else that might come at them.
The paladin flung helmet aside and dropped her sword as she knelt beside the charred pile of women.

((There's time between each shot, right?))
True had started to follow Flare into the air when one bullet, then another, and another smashed into his shield. Wincing, he fled upward as his barrier went down with the fourth bullet hit, and he screamed as the fifth slashed through his right leg, totally destroying it. Bleeding profusely, he rose into the air, his barrier gone, and tried just to delay the effects of shock.

Alber was in amongst his team now. He saw the horse was doing its part so he felt obligated to, as well. After all, he was at least better than monkeys. He stayed in a ready position, able to reach an of his comrades in case of attack.

Seeing the damage Truewind had taken, Flare yelled at him. "It's time to go, True! They won't kill the girl, retreat for now!"
And she took her own advice, flying higher and higher, leaving RAIF behind.
((I need to go, and I may or may not be able to get on before the end. Please let True and I escape.))

"Sonbitch."
James tossed the rifle aside and reached behind him, pulling out a .45 ACP Mk23 pistol (which is larger than the one he usually carries); drawing his hand across it to eject the first bullet in the chamber and draw up another one into it, just making sure that there was one...
He wasn't sure what would happen now, but True was heading up, which would put him out of range of pretty much everything soon enough. James ran towards the briefcase he had left near where Sey had fallen to the ground.

Shuddering, Truewind followed Flare up into the clouds. He spared a last, regretful look down at the ground before disappearing into the mist.

Alber watched the opponents retreat, making sure they were long gone before he dropped his shield. He turned inwards to face the group. Shouting "Victory!" was definitely not the best choice right now.
"Anna? How are Sam and Sey? Allen, are you alright? And you, Abel?"

Abel winced in pain. He could barely move, his fans were working overtime and steam was billiowing out from under the remainder of his coat. Time to check everything. He knew the stabilizers were screwed untill they cooled down a bit more. And he was lucky the breather was a resiliant little machine. He kicked a bit, legs were ok. Arms were in more danger from taking the brunt. His left one seemed to be fine, but the right...
(First die True's lighting attack, second will see if the right arm still works. Since we're both level twenty that's far too close to be getting off scott free.)
It twitched and slowly raised. Thank god, it still worked. Mind you, it had taken some damage from sheilding the left arm. He should be abel to fix the mobility issue on sight. Unfortunatly, it wasn't gonna take many more blows unless he sat his a** down in a workshop and repaired it.
"Are they gone?" He muttered as he relaxed everything.

"...I am so screwed..."
Lying on the ground, Allen simply bled, the blood seeping out from his right wing at a quick pace, and slower from the left one. If he wasn't bleeding, he'd just have unsommoned the wings to let them heal, but like this...he didn't want to rink hurting himself more my havign them bleed wherever they went.

Things were a mess for his team right now. Alber wasn't much of a leader, but things were a mess....
"Let's get off this hill before we run into more trouble. Let's get the wounded to someplace safe where we can recoup..."

James put his gun away, picked up his briefcase full of kaboombidies, and buggered off towards where whoever was that needed a leg up on getting back to the group.
Because he was feeling helpful.
And the narrator is going to eat.

Sey healed, Anna got to her feet at a stumble, turning to look for the rest of her team. Most fo everyone seemed to be coming back to the spot where Sam and Sey laid. Except for Allen. The paladin could see him lying on the ground, and from where she stood, not moving. She hefted her sword and sheathed it quickly, glancing back to her teammates.
"Watch them," she said to James and Alber, then ran across the field to Allen. As she neared, she could make out some of his damage. It was only when she was practically on top of him that she could see the extent of it.
"Saints..." she swore. With more speed than dexterity, Anna tore her short cape free and knelt, tearing it into strips. She only had rudimentary field medicine knowledge, but she could bind wounds, and began doing just that. Using strips for padding where needed, Anna bound the worst of the injuries on Allen's wings, trying to be gentle but not always succeeding.
