"My clam!" Oh, how so intelligent and eloquent.
The look of horror fixed on his face, he nearly tripped when he looked over his shoulder to see that someone else was chasing him now. He caught himself from hitting the ground with his one hand, cradling the silent and mysterious clam carefully. People were now just coming out of nowhere! Where were they all when he spent that miserable night on the beach? Cold and wet, and attacked by vicious sea gulls! He was resentful.
Again, Harata's words were falling on deaf ears. She really was choosing the wrong time to try apologizing and explaining things to him. He shook his head in confusion, wondering what he had done to deserve all this. The Overseer might not have been much of a fighter, but he was good at running, and kept right on running at full tilt, not knowing where he was heading. As long it was away from all the crazies!

Harata, however knew he would end up in the wrong hands, or hurting himself. She sighed, and began to run after. She was lean, and tall, her long legs going at full tilt to catch the Overseer. She was gaining. "BAKA-YARO!!! WAIT, YOU BIG IDIOT!!! YOU ARE GOING TO HURT YOURSELF!" (((yes, I did just cuss at him in japanese.)))

"Stop running, darn it!" she yelled after him. "Drop the clam! I won't let you eat it!" she yelled as she run after him. She just now noticed that a girl she's never seen before was following him as well.
Angelique was quite startled when she heard the woman yell something. "Baka-yaro..?" she muttered as she kept running... she was already starting to feel tired. Angelique's stamina wasn't really the best.

The two of them yelling at him only fueled his desire to get away from them. He had no intentions of stopping anytime soon. Leaping over fallen palm trees, scrambling over rocks and dodging around happy little plants, he finally skidded to a stop when he broke from the shade of the forest. He squinted in the bright sun on the beach with the ocean stretched out in front him.
Glancing behind him again, he yelped when he saw Harata right there, running towards him. Breathing hard, he was off like a shot again down the beach, turning left again. Now with nothing in his way, he sprinted as fast as he could, tearing it up across the distance, but there was also no where to hide. He only hoped that Harata, like Angelique seemed to be doing soon, would slow and give up eventually.

Unfortunately, it was not to be so. Harata had spent the night sleeping, inside, in the warm, and had had a good breakfast. She was also used to running, as she had a mouth she could not seem to keep in check. She finally reached, only about a foot behind. She did not yell, but rather spoke. "Stop. Please."

Angelique's breaths were getting ragged, and her heart was pounding fast. Man, that lad could run! She saw him leaping over some fallen palm trees and her eyes widened. She tried to do the same, but ended up tripping and falling flat on her face. She growled and stood up, stumbling a bit. "I need to work out more," she muttered as she started to run after the clam-napper again.
When she saw him stop for a moment, she beamed. "Finally!" she exclaimed, but growled in frustration again when he ran. The woman was hot on his heels, and Angelique was still far behind--but that wasn't going to stop her! That poor clam's fate depended on her, and she would save it from that clam-napper even if it was the last thing she'd ever did.
She gathered all her strength and ran after him. "S-Stop! Just... Drop... clam... you.... free..." she stammered an incoherent sentence in between breaths.

Harata finally reached him, and tackled him. "Baka-yaro, baka-yaro, baka-yaro." She yelled, making certain that she had not harmed the clam. To prevent him from running, she sat on his chest. "NOw."

(( Ow again. But he was bound to trip soon. It is not easy to run in a robe. )) The impact had taken him right off his feet. The sand was forgiving but at the speed he had been running, he might as well hit concrete the way it felt to him. He hit the ground hard enough that it threw him for a loop and it took all the fight out of him. He was stunned and dizzy, and he made a strange hiccuping sound as he tried to fill his lungs with air. With a ragged gasp, he finally was breathing regularly again, and his arms flopped out to either side of him. Knowing he was pinned down, judging by the heavy weight on his chest, he didn't attempt to stand - not while his head was spinning. The clam still held possessively and firmly in between his fingers.

"Now, I only stopped you because if you run off, you will hurt yourself or others. If I get off your chest, will you try to run again?" Harata silently thanked that gods that she was wearing shorts today. This was awkward enough with out wearing a skirt. She calmly, for the second time, repeated what she had told him after she had kicked his junk. She finished, took a deep breath, then tentitivally asked, "Is your...uh...ya know...trident okay? I didn't mean to hurt you. Well, not that badly. I'm sorry."

O Righteous Overseer (( Duh hurr~ ... thank you. I would have not known. Do I roll on other defensive skills like Deflect, or is the rolling system only for offensive skills?
Edit: <3 )) Umm yeah, I guess I wasnt very clear on that... on parry, a skill that reacts to another skill before it, you need to roll... but i think with spells it would be better if they're infallible. I mean, I've already added gradients of effectiveness (minor tele vs tele, minor deflect vs deflect) so that should dictate what you can and cannot do with a skill I guess~ ))

Angelique finally caught up to them, just to collapse beside the clam-napper. "Just.... give... me.... a... moment..." she said, panting, trying to catch her breath. "Okay... okay... I... I'm better now..." she said, as she sat up and wiped the sweat from her forehead.
"Now... uh..." she blinked a few times when she saw the girl sitting on his chest. "Uh.... right..." she said, slightly confused. She shook her head. "Now, gimme that clam!" she ordered the young man. It was then that that man reminded her of someone.... someone important...
Forgetting about the clam, and the woman sitting on top of the clam-napper, Angelique leaned closer to the man. "I know you.... but..." she muttered, tilting her head to the side. He couldn't be.... could he?
